Hello everyone..Im newbies here.I lost my radio when trying to upgrade to cotulla`s rom.Here is brief explanation on what i have gone through.
-i use magician(02 xda ii mini)with default wm2003se and 1.11 radio.
1.I try to upgrade to cotulla`s 03 wwe where its need 1.12 radio version
2.I flash the radio using MusikMonk instruction in upgrd radio 1.12x thread.
3.1st i use usb flashing method and receive annoying 141 error.
4.I move to SD flashing method where i notice the radio have lost from my device.(red text in start screen show only wwe info istead of other before/there is no radio info in device information in os)
5.I try all other radio installation in ftp and receive same 141 error.
6.follow MusikMonk advice by backup the current os using romupdateutility and got the .nb1 file.-read using ntrw in cmd.
7.copy the 416byte header and edit to radio (.nb1) file attached in MusickMonk instruction.write to sd card but when try to flash in bootloader receive section=1 not allow update!.
8.Try same method with different radio file i found in ftp(I convert .nbf to .nb1 using nbfdec)
9.again stuck when flashing(section=1 not allow update!.)
10.try to update with shipped rom but receive 141 error(stuck in 50%/step 1:updating radio.Since i think i have no radio this error occur)
11.still going around with other radio file->convert->edit->flash->stuck...
I still browsing around this forum to find solution.Got fever because its exhausting me..i need to done this fast since this is the only phone i have and cant afford other.
So.I really need everybody expertise and advice especially for those have experience with this problem..Really need all of u.Thanks for view.

there is where i lost my radio daley.Upgrade with wwe 01,02,04 still wont work.stuck in 141 error.(i have no radio,i think what the heck can those rom upgrade?)
before wwe3.03 installing your pda call normal? but with 2003SE and r1.11 shiprom, radio still work? try other no success. I think you have a pda with damage radio hardware
before it try to flash the radio,my magician work normally as it is..

is your battery ok? I've just the same problem to flash a radio... the battery seams OK, but it's too old. I've inserted a new one from my other xda mini, and the flash works well.
Try again with a new battery...

Sorry if this is a real [email protected] question but I want to upgrade my (MDA Compact alike) Orange M500 but only the radio version is this possible? I can't seem to find a procedure on how to do this.
1. decompress the rom file(it's a exe) with Winrar.
2.U will find 3 nbf file.
3. remove 2 of them EXCEPT the radio).nbf
4. perform the update

AFAIK this is not possible.
The only optional part during an upgrade is the Extended ROM for a Himalya (dont know the effects for Magician).
If you only supply the radio nbf, you will end up with a non-functionin device.
@edsub: You're wrong in case of the Magician.
@rvbcrs: Do as jackleung said - it will work flawlessly, because I did this myself already.
Also, if you upgrade/downgrade radio only, it will not erase your "big-storage" ROM!!

thks for the tip, indeed the bigstorage ROM remains after radio 'only' upgrade.
Just upgraded to (Qtek) radio 1.12, although haven.t seen any differences with 1.11.

Folks, is it possible to to flash the radio from the excalibur onto a tornado ? I've extracted the radio from the nbh but just wondering what to do next or whether its worth trying this ?
i dont mean to be rude, but, is there something wrong with you?!
you risk killing your phone by flashing ANY part of a rom to one which is not designed for your phone! just play it safe and keep it to tornado only updates! as far as i know, there isnt any way to fix a corrupted radio rom update.

That was easy, wasn't it?
IMHO previous ones were wrong If YOU want to make an experiment and if you UNDERSTAND, that this can corrupt your device - than you of course can! I know situation when Tornado user flashed RADIO from communicator, by using COMMUNICATOR flashing software No troubles, everything, that was to be done - is to flash radio by means of Tornado flasher - and everything was OK!
I.e. - in one thread user post link to Radio 1.20.00 - number is NOT Tornado Radio one, am I right? Still, this radio works perfectly on my Qtek 8300
So I think that the main point - is to use Tornado Flasher to flash any part of our devices. If you don't play with IPL/SPL - everything IMHO may be undone safely!

Whats the RIL version of your Tornado and Excalibur? if they're both 2.002 then it may be OK to flash, same with the vox etc... Just as long as you have it in the proper NBF format required by the tornado...
However it'd be best to run the following command via mtty first:

r2sd GSMDATA
This will backup your IMEI and radio tuning etc in the event of it all going horribly wrong.
If it does go wrong, reflash a tornado radio, then reflash your GSMDATA from the card backup you took.

I upgrade my Rom from DualTouch V4 to Duttys Official WM6.1 Rom, and i have no sound, I read that i need to upgrade my radio son i tried to install the 1.58.26.20 cause right now im using the 1.27.12.11, but the moment that im flashing, when appears the porcentage bar, frezze in 0% and nothing happens. is there an thread that i can read to fix that or what can i do???

hmmm, I remember having an issue like that when I flashed my radio. How long do you let it sit before giving up? Also maybe try another radio???

Try flashing the radio from the storage card.

This talks about the flashing a ROM from the MicroSD but you can also flash the radio. Just change the .nbh in the radio file to the same name as the instructions say.

Typically when a user has a connection error and can't upgrade ROM/RADIO via the computer you can always flash using the MicroSD card.
Another advantage is if you want to quickly change ROM's and Radio's you can do so on the fly.
Also upgrading this way takes out the possibility if you are on a desktop computer of losing power or having your phone disconnected while flashing. I lost power when I was flashing my phone once I thought I bricked my Kaiser
yes,flashing usiing sd card method is faster then flashing with activesync
and you dont have to affraid about lost connection or power corrupt

Hi guys anyone could recommend radio working in czech republic with no missed calls. I am uctaly using Radio 2.19.11 which seemed to be the best for most people here but not for me. I used it with many ROMs and i can still report missing calls and on TNT 19199 missing sms as well. I tried to fing Radio 2.71 but with no success. All download links are dead I would apreciate any recommendations from anyone here

You should try with TNT 19199 v.2 and radio 2.69. I used and didn't meet miss call problems.

I have radio version 2.69.11 and no problems. I move in Jihočeský kraj and Vysočina, Prague, Brno. ROM i have TNT 19999 V2 . Verzi 2.69.11 mohu poskytnout.

Check the XDA-Wiki,you'll find all the radio Roms listed there for download.
Secondly,you don't have to make nk.nbf file with just radio image for flashing a Radio Rom,it comes as a self installing package with its own RUU just like a Rom (OS),as it doesn't include any IPL/SPL(Bootloaders) in it,its absolutely safe to flash to any device,G3 or G4.Just hook up the phone with pc via usb and run the RUU in the Radio Rom,it'll start to flash and wud hardly take a minute or so.

No you don't. The ROM you're looking at will install 6.1 for you. Read his instructions on that link and if you have a problem, post it in that thread.

Each chef will let you know if they included the radio or not. If they didn't include one, they will tell you which one is recommended and more than likely will give you a link to that radio....hope this helps...

Most roms come with a radio but some don't, read the rom thread and then go here to flash the recommended radio.

Please read the flashing first ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835 all the steps are there.
If you're flashing a WM6.1 rom you may also want to change your hardSPL from 1.0.OliPof to one of the 3.xx series SPL's. The older SPL can cause some newer roms to hang, slow down etc. I use SPL3.29 which works fine form most WM6.1 roms.

flash the 3.xx spl the same why you flashed 1.0...it wont format ur device, meaning all your "stuff" will still be there...no need to re-flash the rom..

Well,before i reflashed the tir 8k rom and hardspl, i had the default rom with windows mobile 6.i have as phone operator TIM and so the sim card is TIM.but when it turned on it was always used to connect to 3g tim,which is not my connection,because i have a TIM sim card.so i realised that if i would have installed the new rom no brand,i could have connected to the TIM connection,NOT 3g TIM connection.Why still it connects to 3g tim even if i flashed the no brand rom?Why it behaves like before when it was brand 3?Help i explained better...Thanks bye
