Does anyone know how to stop the annoying confirmation beep that plays every time I send a text message from my HTC diamond Windows Mobile phone??? Is there a hack?

yeah but dont tell microsoft as its highly illegal
go to start/setting/sounds and notifications
then click on the notifications tab
in the event menu look for SMS SENT or something along them lines then just deselt the options below it
or downloading custom rom may help as its normally turned off by default
if all else fails download schaps advanced config app and choose it from the options in that

How to disable Pocket Outlook new email notifications?

Does anyone know how I can disable the annoying "new email notification" that comes out of pocket outlook every time it syncs with the mail server?
I sync my Pocket PC with my Exchange Server and I've tried to turn off the new mail message notification in "settings", "notifications", but that doesn't seem to have made any difference....
Thanks...
I am searching diligently for this solution too. I have it set to check email every ten minutes and unless I view the email (dismiss won't do it), it continues to alert me to new email.
Any help would be appreciated.
Bump.
Has anyone found a solution to this? I have the HTC Touch Pro.
Thanks!
Same here....so want to disable the notification.
did you try settings->events and notifications->notifications
pick messaging new e-mail message
and uncheck the box's ?
Crieky! That was it... Sorry, Windows Mobile is new to me.
sound..
This only removes the sound... I would like the sound, but not the cartoon-speech-bubble indication a for the notification. Same goes for missed calls and SMS'es actually. I mean, I have a 'missed calls' indicator on the today-screen, and SMS and EMAIL show a number next to the touch-flo icon so I can't see why I need the notification-screen at all...

On the same Sounds & Notifications menu you have to untick "Display message on screen"

Can I show sms messages on screen when it arrives?

Wonder if there are ways to show incoming sms messages right on screen when they arrive... Currently I need to hit multiple buttons before I can read the sms message. Thanks!
Hi
There is an opption in the setting some where for this, sorry not sure where
Steve
hi,
install this and you have option wake up device on SMS (or something like this)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749
Whenever I got an SMS it automatically displayed the contents on the screen, I don't remember where the setting was but I liked that more. There's a common tweak for wake up on SMS, just search "Raphael Tweaks" and you'll come up with it.
turn it on in the sounds and notifications settings (where you change ringtone, message tone etc).
tick 'display message on screen'
Thanks much everybody!

Disabling Notifications/Icons

Hey guys I know you probably know where stuff in the registry is that I would never be able to find but what I'm trying to do is stop the notifications I get both the icon in the start bar and the bubble notification, for my new mail coming from outlook exchange 07 and text messages both receiving and being sent. I know I saw other options for notifications you can turn off, so I'm wondering if anyone know how to do this. I mean why are they even there TF3D shows you what you have haha.
You can toggle turning all these notifications on or off using Schaps advanced config. Download it from here
Really? sweet I just installed this to do those TF3D performance tweaks so I guess I just need to go looking deeper to find them, scary haha.
I just looked through everything and it seems all in order, like when it says show icon for some stuff its labeled as no, so I guess I'm missing something because I still get notifications/icons for when i have new/unread mail
Two things you can try:
1. Go to Start-->settings-->Personal-->Sounds & Notifications-->Notifications
Messaging: New E-mail Message & uncheck Display Message on screen.
2. Try this registry key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailabl e = 0
To enable again
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailabl e = 1
I think this should disable all sms notifications.
Give it a shot.
Found this too. I think this should just about hit the nail on the head for you.

TocuhFlo 3D Disable Text Sent Notification

I have a HTC Touch Pro 2 from Verizon with all OEM software still. It is running TouchFlo 3D front end on it. Every time i send a text message the notification pops up saying the message was sent. This is annoying bc it wont let me type anything else till it goes. The notification comes up in a window in the center of the screen and it looks like its from windows mobile not from the touchflo. I look through all the setting and changed tons of things and nothing, i went into the registry and it was already set to disable it but it is still there. I think the touchflo is triggering it even though windows says not to.
does any one no how to turn this off?
Yh,
Search for these two apps here at XDA and install:
netcf3.5 & advanced config 3.3 (install in that order). Once these have been installed go in to advanced config, where you will find a setting to disable sent notifications.
If you merely wish to hide them, you should be able to go to sounds/notifications and untick display message on screen for sent text (although doesnt always do it)
great program! has a lot of nice options that i like.... but all the setting to disable the notification are already set to disable... grrr
i think the touchflo software is somehow overriding the windows setting and making it come up.
ok, i guess its not the touchflo... i closed out of touchflo, rebooted and sent a message and it still gives me the notification, even though all setting say not to and reg setting say not to
Ok i figured it out. When I was searching around i kept coming across this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
* Click on Inbox and select Edit -> New Key
* Name the New Key as “Settings“
* Click on “Settings” and select Edit -> New String Value
* On “Value name:“, enter SMSNoSentMsg and in “Value data“, enter 1
* Soft reset your Windows Mobile device and test it with one SMS, and you will notice that the SMS Sent bubble is being disabled
Now when I went to that registry I was already there and already set to "1". The problem I finally found was that it was set as a DWORD and I had to delete it and rewrite it as a STRING. Problem Solved.

Constant E-mail Sound Notifications?

Stock Inspire
Using stock e-mail program
If I have unread e-mail messages, the phone will beep with the sound notification every time it checks for mail, until I open the e-mail app. Even if I have not received any new mail, it will beep when it checks for mail until I open the program.
So if I receive a message at 1pm, and it it set to check for mail every 10 minutes, I will receive a sound notification at 1:10, 1:20, 1:30, etc. until I actually open the e-mail app.
Is this normal? Is there a setting I can chage where it will only beep once upon receipt of a new message? I looked thru the settings and couldn't find anything.
Thanks.

Anyone else experiencing this?
This is happening for me too on Gmail.
It is also happening with my txt message. In addition to that, when it plays my txt msg notification, at the very same time it plays my default sound (so it is playing two sounds at the same time).
Are there setting for these that I haven't seen yet?
Thanks.

Do you have a third party messaging program like Handcent or Chomp installed?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
How do you turn off specific notifications?
I just received my Inspire today and I'm having similar issues.
I've used Windows Mobile and iPhone for years. This is my first Android phone.
Everything is right out of the box with the stock ROM and no additional apps loaded. The only thing I did was setup my Exchange email accounts.
With Windows Mobile and the iPhone I was able to turn off notifications for new emails, but leave it on for text messages and calendar reminders. I receive a large number of emails and I need to have the email notification sound and vibration turned off.
So far I have found where to set your notification sound and where to turn off all notification sounds. I have not figured out how to turn offf just the email notification sound.
Each program has its own notification settings.
Go to mail -> menu - > more - > settings -> notification settings and there you are.
In gmail - menu -> more -> settings -> scroll down to email notifications
Messages - menu -> settings -> received notification

Thanks for the quick response.
An an Android newbie, I was looking for it in the main settings app, not in the mail program itself. I was able to turn off the email notifications and keep the other notifications on.

That is one of the big difference in iOS and Android. In Android you use the menu button within the app you are using to set the specific settings for that app. In iOS you go to the settings area to change setting for all of the apps. It took me a while to get used to when I made the switch last year. I got used to it and now it just makes sense to change settings within the program, not have to leave the program and do it somewhere else.
