I need help.
I have a new Imate JAM (Docod) from taiwan and it is in japanese or some sort of an asian language.
I need to flash an english rom to be able to work with it.
I know how to flash ROMs, I just need to know if this is possible and where do I get this english ROM.

I saw several posts here regarding poeple who are trying to flash from German or other ROM to English ROM with all sort of modifications, operator code and so.
Is it simple as downloading the ROM and run it?
That wasnt the ipression I was getting reading the posts here.

well the only problem you could run into is COUNTRY ID CODE ERROR and its not a big worry if read the thread below twice or thrice may be more than that and then follow it......i am sure you will figure that out too.... its piece of cake trust me only if you understand it properly.
download the rom and upgrade it...and if you get country code then follow this thread its not a big problem trust me...

Changing the language, you must flash your device with another ROMs. WWE = World Wide English.

original rom s..k I have many crashes after return device from standby my today screen smash colours funny and some other issues

its hard to find ROMS in my language (PTG) ... i started to cook my own rom ... but i want to find a nice base rom without that all htc stuff ....
i used kaiserchef to clean it ... but it cleans some stuff i dont want ... and doesnt clean other stuff properly ...
how is the best way to clean a rom ... ? to stay with a base rom without that htc branded stuff ?
i want to stay just with the OS ... pure ... like m$crosoft released it ...

I'm also portuguese, and I also tried to find decent PTG roms, but I couldn't find any good enough..
I'm also trying to cook my own rom, so I asked the experts how to do it.. And, I realized (as NotATreoFan told me) there isn't an easy way to clean a rom.. Is just trial and error.. Star deleting stuff you think aren't necessary or that you don't want, cook the rom and try to flash it..
I'm using our (PTG) official 3.28 HTC rom, and started deleting stuff.. I don't have much time now, but the last time I cooked and flashed (about 2 weeks ago), I realized I still have a long way to walk.. It booted with a lot of errors, so I guess I "over-deleted" lol
I use alex's kaiserkitchen..
Once I thought about dumping and rebuilding a clean rom cooked by a chef from here, so that I could see what files he deleted from the base folders, but haven't done it yet..
Let me know if you've made more improvments..

You can try my ROM. It's stripped out of HTC programs, only default device drivers.

Hi,
I created a script that will separate the MS file from HTC. However the registry I have to manually edit it in order to separate it. Try studying the ROM I created, most probably it will be exactly the same as yours except for the language and some other default apps installed by HTC.

this is where the learning comes in. There is no easy way to do it. You'll have to find what files belong to what program and delete it manually through the cooking kit.
Hi mates! i was looking too, for one ROM in portuguese, the HTC retail is a bit poor,i´m usung the Hiperdragon III, its wonderful, but in english, in the beginning, my idea was translate the ROM, but its too difficult for me... at the end, the version on english or portuguese, only depends the point of view...
If you make one ROM in the Camões language, i tried for sure...

im trying to make a script based on the cleaning script of KaiserChef ... for now have some bugs .. . i think is because some dependency files for some stuff... ill try to clean it more that i can ... and then ill share it ...
the big problem i have.. is i dont know ALL the files and stuff in the rom ... some files i dont know what they do :\

the most easy way to delete the programs is:
download "Wince cab manager" is not free..
with this you can edit or create cabs..
ok see my tip now.. you want to delete the HTC Dialer.. from the rom..
find the same dialer in cab.. you open it with wince and find what file including in this cab.. so you delete the same file from your rom..
this one easy way to begin

The P4351 has a different keyboard layout. The Tmobile Wing and the P4351 are both HTC Atlas's, a variant of the HTC Herald.
There is no way to backup a whole ROM, per say... You can do an SBP backup of your data, then just make sure you find the RUU you're using right now. (RUU = stock ROM)
Anyhow, this is not a developer question, so please post it in the right forum.

i hope this is not a to noobie question. I red the faqs about the onelix spl. But there is only a stock rom in english (i think so).
But how is now the procedure for flashing to german htc touch pro stock.
I am a bit skeptical about the flashing cause garantie. But im very interessting to try this cool roms. I want trying a win mobile 6.5 rom.
