Update on USB Host for X7510
Some of us requested an update with USB hosting which may solve the problems with connecting Athena to digital cameras, external hdds, high capacity flash disks (and other powered devices). Since the X7510 model had included the 4 in 1 cable on the accessories and owners already used it, many might experience the incompatibility of the devices mentioned with the USB host.
The team just asking for a little donation so that they can buy the 4-in-1 cable, which is essential for the USB host update development...
If you are willing to donate a little on the project pls. do so, so that we can enjoy using our X7500,X7501,X7510 with our favorite portable storage media....see here:

Hey whats up guys, I have a friend with an Apache phone who wants to use an custom rom on it, I have browsed the Apache forum and wiki and didnt see what exactly need to be done in order to get this to happen.
I am not too new to this whole modified ROM scene, I have an Wizard unlocked every which way and used 7-8 different ROMS on it.
But any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
WOW!
almost 30 views and not one person can steer me in the right direction?
I would direct your attention to ppcgeeks.com. They are currently building a plethora of ROMs and have any and all information regarding the set-up and reflashing of the Apaches.
Ps, sorry no one could have told you this sooner.

Hey thanks for the response man, will check it out.
For the T-Mobile Shadow users on the forum, have any of you been able to dump the rom?
If so, could you please post it in this thread?
If you haven't, try using these methods at your own risk:

Good luck to anyone that tries to do this!

How can the files from XIP (part00 & part01) be extracted?
i haven't tried it, but try using RomMaster and dumprom programs to extract the XIP partition
Oh hell jea
I frequently check out all the threads here concerning dumping shadow and this one is showing the most promise already; I don't have a T-mo shadow, but I'd love to have the theme for my Wizard. Good luck with this ****. (Would I be asking to much for some one to PM me when this is accomplished?)
I don't think that this will work on Wizard because this is a homescreen plugin for smartphones and will not work on ppc.
Also, I've tried that plugin on my Tornado, but I didn't get it to work.
I don't know. I just want to give it a try. It will be a while because I've got finals coming up again I'm guessing you could still do it with the hard buttons.
if anyone interested, I uploaded an imagefs rom in xda ftp. Its in smartphone/phobeus/ folder. I also included all the necessery files to start modding.
thanks for this! I finally have some time to start on this and hope to do so immediately!
can any Shadow user help me with this matter

Perhaps the HTC stuff from this rom, and the OS from the Xperia 20226 - although both of these are Beta roms, stability may be an issue.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Reading the post it seems that it will benefit Diamond owners more than Kaiser owners, plus there's nothing there that can help with porting Manilla over.
But I've been wrong before, although it was only 1 time.

Hope this isn't too n00b of a question, but what about the OS version? If the UI won't work, that 's fine; but perhaps the OS is a bit more optimized and will work well for the kaiser..? what about the Radio? can it be used? Is it any better than what we have now?
Thanks in advance for any new information and answers to my questions!

Nope radio's won't work. GSLEON bravely tried to flash a Diamond Radio and it bricked his device. I would recommend that you wouldn't do this.
The OS version is what I am talking about.
The Windows build is 19960.1.2.2
Did the dump and alot of nice programs built into the SYS folder....problem is like the Diamond is that it is made for a VGA screen so in order to use a majority of the programs they need to be scaled down or reconfigured...
Doing a ROM right now with an XIP Port and moderated SYS port will let you know how it goes!!!
ryncppr, Im counting on you Bub!
Tried to install the opera .cab for it.
Got this Error.
Code:
Setup Error:
Unable to install application. Please update your device ROM to the required version before trying again.

This is exciting news, I can't wait and definitely am willing to test it for you.
Need Help
I have compiled LinageOS 14.1 for this device. However, it will NOT boot. I believe that all we need to do is fix the boot image file. I am having an extremely difficult time porting the boot image file. I was wondering if anyone here can maybe port it for me. I have tried replacing the LinageOS boot.img with the stock boot.img and I get nothing but an infinite boot loop. I have also tried a lot of other things to port the boot.img but I cannot remember everything I have tried. I will provide the links to my LinageOS compile and the boot image files in this post.
Download Link
Remember DO NOT try anything without a working backup of everything first.
Maybe I could take a crack at it today if I have some free time after painting and I hook up the trusty Dell precision. I'm more comfortable with systems that run already but I'm willing to do some research if there's even a chance I could help. Thanks again for what you've compiled so far!

Lineage OS
I am very interested in the development, also if this person has working META-INF that will help me out too, so I can help someone release a rom and they can help me, as I said before this is all very new to me.
I'd love some help getting started on making any ROM, even if it's Slim AF to start with (since you already figured out how to do that), then I'd try something else. I have Ubuntu already installed, but need some basic help, like what repo to download and what files to modify. If you can help with that, I'd really appreciate it as we may have more ROMs to choose from .

Nice work. Will this be based off the latest security updates B150 (think stock came with B130 firmware) and root?
Love this as a starting point. Did you free up any of the internal storage that is dedicated to the system? As we know there is only 8GB free of the 16G. Does SLIM ROM change things in this regard? Just curious.
yes
I have managed to free up a little over 2gb of space, I am still looking for other bs that is taking up so much space, i'm thinking its another partition, so give me a while to figure out what i can safely remove to get us more space. I also work 2 jobs lol i dont have a ton of free time but this phone is my daily driver and i am very determined to get something to work for it!

I will release Resurrection Remix soon, I just want to work out some critical bugs before I do. It's pretty stable as of now, I am posting from it. As of now, Wi-Fi, the camera, and the phone's internal loudspeaker don't work, I think Wi-Fi is going to require me to compile a custom kernel but that won't be too difficult. After I get those things to work, I will compile a flashable zip and release.

Thank you so much for your hard work on this ROM and device. I'm sure I can safely speak for all of us about how exciting this is. If at any point you need someone to test a particular version I'm very confident in making a backup of where I am now and diving in to submit feedback for kernel changes or anything else you need more than one phone to try on.

i dont guess any of these ROMs ever saw the light of day? lol been a long time since posts it appears, and there aren't many ROMs to find for the h1611 it seems. Nexus XT looks promising, but i cant download it because every link is a 7 hour download that fails a few hours in. satisfied enough i guess with stock rooted, but i want more, might have to keep this phone for a while until i can get a higher end one.
ive got some emui based roms like the nexus one is a emui based one im in the works of making a more vanilla like experience rom to try improve performance etc. and working on building a device tree for the xt its a work in progress for that. but the other rom wont be the swift n fast slim it will be called something else ill post it soon as its almost done

I am disposed to take part in the collect, considering how much as now an s advance costs, wouldn't be so hard to get quickly the money and with very little effort for all.
I think that is a good idea and can really give a new life to our device.
Obviously a spare s advance of a willing and generous user would be the best thing we can hope in, but seems really hard to happen, however, my hope isn't died yet

If you're really interested, I'd suggest to look at the Oreo rom of Chrono:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/ace-2-develop/rom-lineageos-15-0-t3678722
and to look at the Chrono Kernel (compatible with janice but with some bugs):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...tom-kernel-t2793420/post74179403#post74179403
Ace II has the same chip of S Advance (with some code differences) and the dev is very helpful to explain how it works.
Two guys in the same project would be better than one guy on a single project.
As far as I know @sm_adil doesn't reply to any PM and Epirex is busy on his Moto phone.

Yes I agree two or more dev contributing to the same project will be good!!
However if you consider me as fully fledged dev you're wrong I'm more of web developer than android or java. I did build couple of kernel's for testing my skills but than again they were not so stable and I didn't had time to debug it!!
So yeah if get the time I do want to build a ROM for Janice :fingers-crossed:
I've got a Janice right here that I don't use. I'm actually looking right now for a way to root it and install whatever superior than the Gingerbread ROM it currently has, but the point is that it's available for testing purposes. Btw, is it possible to leave a phone number here?

I want to learn how roms are built and I would like to support in developing Android Go rom for S Advance, if possible. Can you please guide me where I can start?
As per my experience, I have built a modified linux kernel with some modified device drivers and was able to boot it with a debian root filesystem on Freescale SabreLite board. But never built an android rom earlier.

You could start from one of these tutorials:
https://nathanpfry.com/category/android/
I'm not good at compiling, I tried it and didn't like it. So I can't help you more than that.
For this reason, with the help of some xda users, I have donated a S Advance to @ChronoMonochrome.
Currently he's actively developing a new kernel and a new rom in this section:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s-advance/development
I think we could expect more roms with higher android versions, so your feedback is important.
