I'm posting this here since it's more of a general WM5 question...
I'm very happy with the new ROM for my HTC Wizard, and Push Email especially.
However, in Microsofts infinite wisdom I am not alerted when new e-mail arrives in subfolder to the main Inbox (however, I am alerted when I get new email in the main inbox). I'm not very surprised since Outlook 2000/XP/2003 works the same way, but it is very annoying having unread e-mail I don't know about.
Is there a program or a ToDay-plugin or a registry setting or anything that enable alerts for new e-mail in subfolders?
*bump*
I would very much like to have this feature as well. I receive emails when servers go down, and I have an Outlook rule setup to send the email to a subfolder under my Inbox. I do not receive any notifications when I get emails in those subfolders. Did anybody ever figure out a way to get this working? I have a Cingular 8125 (HTC Wizard).
I am sorry to bring up this old thread but I have the exact same question I seach around and didn't find anything. I also seach HF and seem like no one know if notificiation for sub folder is possible.
Can someone verifiy if getting email notification for sub folders is possible? I have a 8125 running wwm6 rom.
bump up to the top - looking for the same feature.
I am looking for this same feature. I am using emoze to sync my inbox and a few subfolders. I am using a AT&T Tilt (HTC kaiser) with WM 6.
So there is still no solution to this ?
It is a "feature" of Outlook.
Desktop and Mobile versions do not notify the system that subfolders have received a message. Desktop 2003 used to do this, and then it was removed.
I don't have a workaround for the Mobile version. On the Desktop, I use search folders instead of subfolders. It sucks, but it works.
The reason subfolders don't notify, is that most subfolders are used for non-important messages (i.e. spam, or system notifications). I get over 200 emails an hour about servers being up/down. So, I get a lot of notices. However, using subfolders, I never saw anything!!!
Yes I understand the rationale behind the 'feature'. But I have important mail in the subfolders. Unfortunately at this time there seems to be nothing we can do.
I was hoping a registry entry which would let us add a subfolder path or something like that.
Voice Command Will Tell You (sometimes)
I think there must be an event that can be trapped if someone (more capable than I) can cobble together a few lines of code.
I have MS Voice Command with the JetWare bluetooth addon. On my 8125 running WM5, I would get the read-out-loud notifications for mail delivered to subfolders. I've recently upgraded to a Tilt with WM6 and this bug/feature doesn't repeat.
I think this is a feature that many "power users" would appreciate... at least as an option.
Have a look at SPB Diary. This can show your emails on the today screen...including subfolders that you choose.
Did anyone ever find a better solution to this?
I saw people asking the same question here: http://discussion.wmexperts.com/showthread.php?p=1409571

I'm sure there's loads of other places where this has been suggested. It just seems like an obvious feature to me, especially if you are promoting WM6 as a business tool.

Too many notifications...
On a related note, this question:
My Hermes (AT&T 8525, WM5) alerts me when new mail arrives... that's no problem. However, If I don't stop and read it then, the next time it syncs it notifies me again about the same mail. Is there any way to set this up so that it will only sound a notification when something *NEW* comes in?
Thanx,
Woe
Is there a way to enable outlook to store calendar attachments just like it stores email attachments? Whenever I get invited to something, my PC outlook will have the attachments but my phone won't have it there.
If I don't accept the appointment and keep it in my inbox, my phone WILL have access to the attachments.
Any ideas?
Wow. I'd have thought that SOMEBODY else had a fix or atleast noticed this.
I have Windows Mobile 6.1 which syncs with Exchange 2007. Exchange sorts all mail automatically into different folders.
Is there anyway to add search folders to Pocket Outlook? If I had search folders I could see all unread mails or all todays mail in one place instead of having to search thru all folders for unread mails...
Another question regarding Pocket Outlook, is there a way to have the today screen report about unread mails in all folders not just the inbox?
Anybump?
The Windows Mobile/Exchange experience is so cool, except for this little annoyance...
Doesn't anyone care about this bumping thing? Don't you use folders or what?
I would also like to know if this is possible, though I am suspecting not...
I would give a testicle to have search folders and some way to view another user's calendar on my WM phone.
Search folders require indexing which would be a major hurdle on WM.
I have a htc Juno(tmobile shadow), with erofichs 6.1 rom.
I'm setting up my emails and I got everything working. However, I only get notifications of an email when it goes into the inbox. I have a few filters setup for my email (yahoo). I would like to get notifications when emails get filtered into their respective folders. The emails get downloaded when it checks the server, but it neglects to inform the notification panel of any new emails that aren't in the inbox.
Does anybody know how to correct this, or if it's possible?
Hello,
I am using Windows mobile for a while. From the beginning, I am missing unread mail search folder. I am using outlook mobile. I synchnroze with exchange activesync. I have a lot folders and subfolders. Now, i have to open all folder/subfolders to see If i get any new mail. Is there a way to see all the unread mail like in outlook?
Regards,
Rok
Moved as not software release.
Great question, just got my Hero yesterday and would love to be able to see all my unread Exchange emails in one location
I use a program from SPB. It gives your phone some nice features and also the possibility to oversee your mail.
try it.
