Install WCF12 wifi card to IPAQ hx2195 - General Questions and Answers

I'm new here so sorry if I'm not in the right place. anyways
I got a Linksys cf wifi card WCF12 for my Ipaq hx2195 with wm5. I bought it off ebay and it didn't come with a driver cd or anything.
I have tried the driver from the linksys website but i can't figure out how to install the driver : http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WCF12/target_url
If anyone could give me step by step instructions on how to install the driver or if you know any other drivers that would work that would be great.
thanks

problem with SDIO Safecom Wi-fi and WM 5 1.60b

Hello I have big problem with my SDIO Wi-fi card!
I bought Safecom card SDIO for Wlan and I have installed WM 5 1.60b 96 on my Qtek 2020 and card just does not work! The blue signal light just does not blink - as it should! So I baddly needed Wi-fi and I downgraded to WM 2003SE - where the card worked - perfectly. I could pull it out and plug it in with no errors, but here when I instaled drivers it said it were not ment for this tipe of OS - like almost all programs! I turned to manufacturer and they told me it was only for WM 2003 - not even 2003SE!?!
I saw similar post for the problem and it said that they use WM 5 1.6a - but with that version I had alredy have had quite a bit probems with phone operation - it didn't work. Help me please - I just cannot downgreade to WM 2003SE any more - I can't stand OS with non persistent memory, excell with no graphs, poorer graphics, no power point... any more!
PLEASE HELP ME! ANYONE!
I got the safe Safecomm SDIO Wireless B card as you and I am using a XDA2
I have just upgraded from WM2003SE to WM5 with 96MB RAM.... and I have been experiencing the same problem. But I fixed it by downloading and installing the following 2 items:
-Safecom_11b_drivers.rar
-Widcomm fix after install for 1.50
They can be found on:
http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,100/func,select/id,15/
Best Regards,
Sam
The Ambicom WM2005 beta drivers work with the Safecom SDIO wifi card, as they're the same piece of kit.
I'm using it with WM2005 2.01.32WWE from tofclock. Only trouble I have at the moment is that you need to soft-reset the device with the card inserted to start the blue light and activate the card each time you want to use it.....
I haven't yet found a way of making the card work upon insertion without resetting the device.
Have you tried to install the wifi fix?
It is Patch #7 on this page:

Hello
This happened to me too.
First on 2003SE it worked very well, then after install wm5 1.60 stoped working.
I performed a downgrade to 2003se again and not worked as well, another downgrade to wm2003 1.72 official O2 rom and the same never worked anymore.
Does someone know if it is possible that some how wm5 1.60 cause an error inside the card and she died for all rom's?

Now I have WM5 2.01a64 and instaled 1.18 driver from the file: Safecom_11b_drivers.rar downloaded from buzzdev.net, the card waked up and then started to blink, the PDA detected the card and enabled the hifi option in the wireless manager, but the card did not found any network. Even after manually inputed the SSID.
I really think the card is damaged.
I have a SANDISK SD wifi card which i just can't get to work on my himalaya with wm5. Does anyone know if there is a solution yet?
San disk WIFI SD card doesn't have driver for WM5. I have look for in the website company, it doesn't support for WM5 driver. If somebody can solve driver issue for WM5, I think this problem will be solved immidiately

Maybe it is a clone of the JustMobile SDIO WLAN Card as mentioned here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2134382&postcount=30
Or try from the previous post in that thread:http://www.ambicom.com.tw/support/WL54C-SD.html
Or try the workaround described here:http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=132572

Take either landscape or portrait QVGA ARM version. It belongs on, what you prefer. The smartphone versions are smaller than the PPC.cab files!!
Search for opera mini windows mobile, works great!
Wififofum2 and Hitchhiker are well known wardriving-tools, but wardriving isn't legal everywhere!!! And they need .netcf 3.5 or 3.7, you loose additional 6.5MB free program-ram. There is a mobile version of the network stumbler around, too.
The best way to get 1h free internet in Germany , is to visit a fast food restaurant (the one with the golden arches).

Problems flashing cooked WM6 ROM

Hi all,
I am following the steps described in the forum.
I have unlock the universal and follow all the steps (i think so)
In my Universal appears the bootleader with the USB when the USB is connected and serial when not. In the PC i have unchecked the usb connection in the ActiveSync etc... But when i run in the PC the "ROMUpgradeUt" program provided with the cooked ROM package it seems that is not communicating properly with the Universal. First of all when it appers the screen that informs you about the current version of the pda and the upgrade to perform, both fields are empty, Then i click in "next" button and after a while (that informs you that the process could take 20 minutes) it appears some error regarding to the connection (i guess)...
More info: No USB HUB but Windows Xp running on wmware, but the Active Sync works perfectly on vmware.
Please could you help me ?
Thanks!
Er.....
I would first update your bootloader to: 2.01
Then i would check if your uni if connecting to the VMware copy of XP,
another opition you could do if partion your hard-drive nad load XP on to it...
OK Thanks!
But i don't find the bootloader version that you point... i have downloaded the one i have from the main thread of ROM Upgrade... could someone put the link?
thanks
Hi again,
My bootloader version is 1.0 so it is a G3, anyway, Can i update it to WM6 or not ?
Thanks in advance

Hi!

Connect to computer with Windows 7 x64

Hi guys,
I tried to find an answer to my problem under the forum "Touch Cruise Android Development". Unfortunately, I did not find any relevant thread.
Could you please let me know how can I connect my HTC Touch Cruise (Froyo 2.2) to my laptop on Win7 64 bits?
When I connect my phone to my PC, Win7 tries to download drivers for the device name "Android Phone", but it failed (No drivers found).
I tried to :
- Use HTC Sync (it's not design for Touch Cruise)
- Try to manually install HTC drivers 64 bits (downloaded from here)
I am looking forward to connect my P3650 to my laptop to be able to share internet using USB (wifi is not working yet).
Thanks for potential answers.
You can't share your pc connection with polaris using usb.
install android sdk and the drivers from android develop (use google)
Will it be possible later?
On WM6.5 it was possible to share internet in both way (from computer to phone // from phone to computer (ex: using 3G)).
i don't think so because there are some other major problems to fix before it
i am still looking for some ways to share internet to my computer, can any one help? thx a lot

[Solved] MTP for WinXP - A service installation section in this INF is invalid

Hi All,
I just tried to connect my TF101 to an old WinXP box and got the error above when installing the driver from the Asus site, the solution after looking here was to install the Microsoft User Mode Driver Framework for WinXP here. I think this fix applies to all android devices but I figured it was worth a post if it saves some TF users from a long search.
Thank you for this, helped me fix it after searching around for 2 hours!
thanks heaps
You are a legend. Samsung should put this on their site. I couldnt get my Samsung Galaxy S II to connect, installing the Framework and then uninstall and driver and plug phoneback in then worked.
WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!
POST THIS IN SAMSUNG WEBSITE
This driver package solves the Error code 28
for MTP device as samgung, then it works in Kies.
Hey thanks for the info +1
Thanks it works
equal or better file already installed on this computer
I get the same INF error when I try to hook up my video camera. I tried to download the file but received a message stating that I already have an equal or better one already. Obviously that is not correct because it is not working.
I am lost and can no longer put my videos from Panasonic Mini DV on my computer.
Any chance anyone knows how I can fix this..thanks!!
Gigsee, what operating system are you experiencing this on?
The help above is specifically for WinXP, it *may* be applicable to Vista also but will certainly not apply for a Win7 box because the usb driver stack is totally different there.
You'll have to help me out by giving step by step instructions of what your clicking and what your seeing at the time to pinpoint your problem and please be very specific with the wording of any errors your seeing.
Reply with something like;
1- click start> settings > control panel > system.
2 - open device manager tab.
George
Hi George - Thank you for taking the time to try to help me. I have an HP that is running on Vista Home.
I have tried to add the video camera several ways. One way is to open Movie Maker and add video camera. I also just hook the video camera up to the computer. I've tried a USB cord and HP told me I needed an IEEE 1394 cord, but that made no difference. I've tried going through the control panel to cameras and adding a camera. No matter how I try, it always does the same thing:
1) I plug in the USB cord. I instantly get this message: USB Device Not Recognized.
2) Control Panel; Scanners & Cameras; Add Device
3) I am sent to the Welcome to the Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard
4) Next; I have the box asking me if I want to select the manufacturer from the list (only my old printer is on the list) or to select that I have the manufacturer's disk
5) Have Disk
6) Message says to the Insert manufactures installation disk, which I do. It asks me to copy manufacture's files from:
7) I hit browse and change drive to E (since that is my disk drive).
8) A list of 6 files come up. Acrobat Reader, DV Studio3, USBDriver, ArcSoft, G726, AUTORUN
9) The acrobat, dv studio, arc soft all upload correctly. When I hit the USB Driver, it takes me to another screen that says DRIVERS. At this point, the file name gets automatically filled in as "AUTORUN.INF" When I click "OPEN" I get AUTORUN.INF File not found. Check the file name and try again.
note: It used to be that when I hooked up the camera to the computer, It would automatically detect it and try to connect with it. It was then that I got the error above about "A Service Installation section in this INF is invalid." Now, it doesn't even let me get that far.
I hope I was descriptive enough..thanks so much for trying to help me!!
Patti
I had the same issue with ASUS Transformer Prime TF201 connecting to WinXPSP2. Solution worked immediately. Thanks to original poster.
confirmed fixed issue with samsung vibrant! thank you
Hi !
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH i777. I've been trying to connect it to my laptop ( now xp sp3 ) for a few weeks now.
I've tried almost everything :
-updated sp2 to sp3
-uninstall and reinstall drivers manually
-tried suggestions from android and xp forums : tried every connection mode, every usb port, code error 28 suggestions, .Net framework update , updated windows media player "mode", and some others ... even trying this Microsoft User Mode Driver Framework.
But no success. I've always had this annoying " A service installation section in this INF is invalid " message.
Until yesterday when I found this site and followed divadrummer 5 steps :
fixya.com/support/t221754-service_installation_section_in_inf
( as a knew member I cannot post outside links for a while - so you need to supplement the above line with the usual "stuff" like "www"
I've found the "inf" file in the windows hidden system.
Hope I could help .
Thank you very much!
Galaxy SII - MTP INF Issues
This is the EXACT issue I've been having. I'm thrilled to see it on XDA since I know there's so many competent people out there just brimming with eagerness to help me figure this out. (Or at least you're borderline willing)
Device: Samsung Galaxy SII Sprint SPH-D710 (i think)
OS: ICS
Computer: Dell Latitude d610
OS: XP SP3
As you know I connect my phone to the computer, it recognizes new hardware and attempts to install it. The only way to get the computer to recognize the phone in My Computer is by connecting as a digital camera and even then the VAST majority of my files are unavailable.
1. I installed the link provided by the original poster.
2. I uninstalled my phone by the device manager and in fact by removing the samsung phone drivers that I had earlier installed.
3. I then plugged my phone back into the computer.
4. I installed the Samsung drivers again
5. I allowed the "found new hardware to run its course.
6. I receive the attached screen shot with the error stating "An error occurred during the installation of your device. The required section was not found in the INF.
I have tried to follow the instructions above and I think the User Mode stuff sounds promising.
Next I attempted another fix at the link below:
fixya.com/support/t221754-service_installation_section_in_inf
The link had the following instructions: (Thanks Divadrummer)
"If the player is showing up in your Windows' Device Manager under "portable devices" with a yellow "!":
1.) Right-click the yellow "!" and choose "update driver".
2.) When given the option to connect to Windows Update, choose "no, not this time" and click next.
3.) Choose "Install from a specific location (advanced)" and click next.
4.) Choose "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click next.
5.) Click the "Have Disk" button. Browse to C:\Windows\inf and choose the file marked "wpdmtp.inf"
I can't believe the generic players have such crappy support when so many people have this problem! I think the Windows file problem might be caused by "compressing old files" when you do a disk cleanup."
After doing as advised I found no wpdmtp.inf file. SO... I did what any amateur computer guy would do. I googled the file and downloaded it directly. I placed in in my INF directory and then tried to do step 5. I still experience the same error.
Suggestions and inquiries are welcome and encouraged.
Thank you in advance.
thanks

[Q] Help me problem solve AHD5-114

I need to update the Bauhn Sphere AHD5-114 from V1.2 to V1.3 as this is a fix to repartition the device (only allows 1GB for apps, has 32GB storage).
Instructions to update, including driver files are here: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=a25f...06&ithint=folder,zip&authkey=!ANnJGmqdleVuyX0
The Problem: The phone won't connect to the PC when the phone is off. It connects fine when on. I have tried 3 different computers and about 10 different charging cables, all using the drivers included in the folder.
It connects for 2 seconds then disconnects, windows tries to find a driver but comes up with 'device unplugged'.
Need to either fix connectivity issue or find another way to install the update (this method is with SP Flash Tool).
Note: phone is unrooted (tried Framaroot, SRSroot and Towelroot). Also I'm sure there's a fix somewhere but I've looked for hours, maybe using the wrong keywords but all I've found is connectivity issues with the phone on. All PCs have windows 7.
bump
Created this account to thank you for the files! A friend of mine has the 1GB limit issue, and I want to try their official fix first, before going to unofficial means. I'll try it and let you know what happens.
Not sure where you got with this. Initially I tried the upgrade on a Windows 7 laptop and ran into the same problem you did. The phone wouldn't stay connected. I noticed the instructions "highly recommended" doing the installation on a 32-bit Win XP machine. I gave it a try on a 32-bit WinXP machine and had the same issue. I left the software running, phone plugged in, then unplugged the computer-end of the cable and plugged it into a different USB port. It needed driver software installed, again, so I pointed it to where I'd unzipped the driver, it installed the driver (for the second time) and then the upgrade worked.
The phone is *far* more usable now, it seems that just about all the 32gb is available for app installation. This is how the phone should've been configured out-of-the-box, imo.
Thanks for making the installation software available for download. I couldn't get it from the bauhn site.
