While using the CRC ROM for my older Hermes phone, I could dial my contacts via the dialpad in the following fashions:
1- Last name
2- First name
3- mixed (For "John Smith", I could type J-o-S-m)
On my Raphael, the first two work, but I can't get that last option to work. Am I missing anything?
Thanks in advance.

I have never heard of the mixed search, I'm certain that is not available on the Raph.

Bummer. This is a sorely missed feature from old.

I remember once when installed one of those cooked ROMs, I was able to select more than one contact at once -can't remember which one!
I guess none of the recent ones is able to do so!
Any of you would remember which one had a multiple selection in contacts?

I have the dutty hybrid 2 tilt touchflo rom (or something to that effect).
I can't seem to find the "voice command" software that is bundled with Windows mobile 6. Was it removed or can I just not find it for some reason?
I looked through Dutty's changes and don't see that it was removed, nor do I see it mentioned that it was included.
Anyone have a way to "re install" it if it was removed?
Any help or direction would be appreciated. Did not see it when searching forum.
I'm not sure if it is in the rom you are talking about, I know he left out of his new v3 rom. It's not big deal to add just download the cab. and install it.
This is the link to dutty's downloads if you look under cab files it is included there.
http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/index.php?path=TouchFlo/DualTouch+Editions/
the only thing I could find under the CAB files was the Cyberon voice commander. My understanding was that mobile 6 came with VOICE COMMAND embedded.
Is this available on a CAB and is the Cyberon Voice commander the same thing or a similar item.

The Microsoft Voice Command v1.6 is NOT bundled with any windows mobile program, you have to buy that separtely. What it is included with most of the rom is the voice dialer. Cyberon Voice Command was included at one point in Dutty's ROM but it was taken out because it is a software that needs to be brought (license/copyright thing). So he took it out to be safe.
Do a search on this site and then do a search IN the thread and you'll find some answers on using Voice Command v1.6 (v1.5 do not work with the Tilt)
Where can I found voice dialer? I don't believe it is in V 3.
found it. I guess sometimes I like to type for no reason.
I can see why Dutty isn't including the version he had access to. I can't get the thing to launch from an assigned button and it always gives an "error" messae, though I can launch from the start menu.
The thing works intermittenlty at best. I may pay for the microsoft version and just suck it up.
Again, just seemed that Microsoft eluded to the fact that it was included with Mobile 6. However, that is what I get for trusting "the man!"
See this post as I have links for various versions of MS Voice Command in here.

I actually have a 1.6 version of the UK version. I just need to upload it and update this post (will try to do that in a few hours).

ok, now I'm curious, where about did you read that it is included as part of Mobile 6?
I guess my thinking it was included was 1) eluded to by my tech guy and 2) eluded to by a post or two on blogs when I googled the term.
However, when I look at the "official microsoft info" you are correct, it IS NOT included.
Once again, I was HOPING that microsoft wasnt going to be in my pocket yet again, but alas, they are if I want this software ! CRAP!

lol but wait, aren't you running wm6 already on the tilt? so it is already 'in' your pocket unless you are running the tilt/kaiser tytn II on a linus or mac version, you just can't run away
there's a good interview with Bill Gates that was posted at Gizmodo.com when they were there at CES 2008, I think I'm liking Bill more and know how sincere he is, he even said that Windows needs a lot of improvement (or to paraphrase him, Windows sucks).
Hi,
Did you manage to upload 1.6 UK?
Thanks

Sorry I haven't. Have been working an upgrade all weekend and my hotel shuts my net access down if I do too much net traffic. I'll look at moving this file when I get to the office in about an hour.
can you uys kindly share which rom cooked or oem works with no issues with microsoft voice command especially the announcing incoming calls and notifications through the speaker on the phone?

I do not believe there is an actual one that will work 100% off the bat, I've tested 3 of Dutty's ROM (Tilt Beta 2, 6b, and the 2.0 fixed) none of them works without doing the fix.
The fix is located on a link at dutty's v3 rom thread, there should be a link to a zip file, basially, you unzip the file and copy 3 of the files into the windows folder and 1 to the program files\voice command folder. (make sure voice command is not enabled -> settings->personal->voice command) and soft-reset then do the copies, soft reset, and enable it, then once more soft-reset.
I've tried not using the fix and it never worked, so the fix does the job. With the 'fix' I can have it announce to me when someone calls (either through the speaker or bluetooth) and more.
Hope this help.
thanks for the update!
Hi guys,
I have just cooked a rom based on a dump of WM6.1 TNT 19199 and found a weird problem.
The phone does not response to any extension number.
For example, my friend's number is 85213800 ext. 122 . When I dialed 85213800 it got through and prompted me to dial an extension number. I input 122 and clearly heard the sound of keypad but the voice on the other end still asked me to dial an extension number. The phone did not response to my further input.
The same problem happened when I called some service centers. It is pretty annoying.
I met this problem before on some of the cumstomized roms but forgot how to solve it. It seemed to be related to some registry settings or in lack of some files.
Anybody has any clue. Many thanks
some touch dialers have that bug, you have to use the most recent package of dialers

Thanks. but i am not using a third party dialer. i am using the one that comes with wm6.1 and should be the most recent one, right?
Hey well when i got this phone from HTC, it came with the at&t bloatware on it. I originaly flashed the htc firmware without a radio. Worked fine other then they keyboard drivers were weird since AT&T thought it would be a great idea to change up the keyboard.
So (Unless someone did this already and i didnt see it in the wiki) im cooking up the HTC Firmware with AT&T radio and drivers. anyone know where the keyboard drivers are? i have both ROMs extracted ready to go.
There are no keyboard drivers. It's just a change in the Registry
It's the same change as for the kaiser -> Tilt.
I've attached the cab and it should get the job done. I forgot the registry edit though, you can find it in the very long at&t fuze thread in Raphael general.

so you need the cab along with the registry change?
does it change all the links on the keyboard or just where the numbers and symbols are?

No. It's an either/or thing. Either you get the cab and install it, or you change it in the registery.
It changes everything from keyboard to numbers and symbols to where the special keys (sms, email, etc.) are.
Hey Kraize thanks for this, will have to check the wiki later to see if there is mention of this as it will be a common question in the next week or so.

Don't thank me. Thank TarusBulba. It's his cab, I just renamed it and re-upped it.
cool thanks. New problem though:
I have the HTC box firmware(as explained above) Os only, so i didnt get the radio package. After installing it, to make sure i was up-to-date i went onto the wiki and downloaded the latest radio firmware for AT&T. It seems as if every time i put a SIM in i cant get edge or 3G signal. My house is typically both depending on where your standing and such. Any ideas?
Cool wiki updated

Okay. I think I understand your question, but could you explain exactly what the problem is? I mean do you want a constant signal on 3G or something? I don't understand exactly.
I've looked everywhere for the answer, but can't seem to find it.
I am having trouble copying text messages from my SIM-card to my phone memory.
Is there anyone who knows how to solve that issue? I am using an HTC Diamond with WM6.5.
Thanks a lot.

Bump for visibility.
hahahahaha I had tried this for a very long time!
Seriously it too annoying!
In the end all I could do is :
put my sim in a nokia phone
transfer messages to the phone
sent them to diamond via bt!!
Sorry for the lame solution, but there is no other way!
Asus sim manager
Asus sim manager(any version) does it
Sorry dont have .exe n other related files.

Great, but I cannot find the sim manager files, only ROMs containing it (dumping them would take a lot of time). Is there any way you could send it to me?
Thanks.

allright, here's quickmade cab of asussimmgr.
idd, there's option to copy sim msgs into device(and from device to card) there, hmm nice.
i am not sure, if it will work for HTC devices(i've added policy to cab that should allow that), but i think it should.
Thanks

And YES, it works! I am very glad you guys helped me out!
Thanks a lot!
You can also use apps below to save the sms located on sim card & import to device.
Have done so on wm2003se wm5 wm6 wm6.1 & wm6.5 custom ROMs
i don't exactly know what you guys here are talking about...
but if its simply about copying a sms from the sim to the phone (as the title suggests) then i don't see how come no one's posted the most obvious solution i've used myself before...
just as background info to those who need to know- i'm running a com5 23569 self-cooked rom on my htc gene (p3400)
and i stumbled upon the solution to this problem you mentioned while going through one of the millions of flashes and restores we chefs go through...
all i did to copy the message onto the phone memory was open the msg to view it and then hit the left soft key to open the menu and the last option on the menu list simply reads 'copy to phone'...i tap on that and voila!! its done...
do let me know if it works coz i don't think it would be this simple and yet left untried by anyone else and requiring external apps to be installed for it to be done...

regardless of fact, if it is working, i wish luck to anybody with many messages..not especially automated process, if you ask me.
for cooks(that flash frequently) matter is entirely different, btw.

don't usually have to contend with too many messages myself...this only arises when i put my sim into a temp phone while the flashing process completes...and at worst i have 4-5 messages to contend with...
ppcpimbackup is my first pick too but i don't remember trying it out on sim messages...worth a shot though...
WOW plenty of options available! thank you guys.
