This problem happened since WM2003,when it happened,you will get 83% as top percent of battery,whatever charging or discharging.
Sometimes it will return 100% after reboot.

Backup or Main battery pack???

Main Battery,I'm collecting data

Yes I've been facing battery issues but nothing ever happened like this. Have you ever try Cotulla's BattClear app? It could work.

I had the same issue and some other similar issues but recently nothing happens. I am using the CHS version too.

Yes,I know many chinese user have experienced this problem......

ohh, I don't know, because I still using original battery pack
Can you give me Original Battery Meter???

since we use the same type of battery and as I see we have the same problems with it, what lifetime do you get from it? I get less than 24h. it's the chinese model of dynapack and it is supposed to be 1800mah

Dynapack 1800mAh????
fake battery...
original DynaPack only give 1200mAh...

well it looks just like dynapack,same serial number but it's made in china. i have another 2 batteies an original dynapack made in taiwan and a chinese one that i used for a long time and still it lasts more than 4 days. the problem with the indicator is because the cheap (fake) models don't use the original board but an emulator for it. and so you only get from it a constant 181 mah drain and 26 degrees celsius

these are my reading from the battery pack

Well,now I know why so many people in China have experienced this problem...
Seems it reported a fake capacity sometimes.
But the Voltage of Battery is true.
Reality 83% power never came with 4.1-4.2 Voltage.
83%*1.21=1.0043
82%*1.21=0.9922
Code:
if((BatteryPercentage<84) && (g_bTmpBatteryVoltage>4000)){
IsBatteryPercentNeedFix=TRUE;
}
if(IsBatteryPercentNeedFix){
BatteryPercentage*=1.21;
if(BatteryPercentage>100) BatteryPercentage=100;
}
Hope this works...

Happened again...
Seems my code worked.

i have a battery that has problems only with the indicator. temp, battery drain and voltage appears to work correctly but for some reason the phone thinks it drains faster than it is. it's kinda annoying since when it reaches to 0 it doesn't shut down but in closes tha main functions including the phone and camera. after a reset it shows the correct percentage but agains it drains to 0 in a short time. battery life is normal (3-4 days). Is there a way to override the battery app to somehow fix this ?

Hmm...
Yes, sometime I feel it too.
But, i don't know why, nowadays the trouble seems away.

it would be great if somehow we could patch the original battery app to return the percentage depending on the voltage and we could set the lower and upper values in mV to represent 0% and 100% and automatically adjust the scale. i think that would fix a lot of problems including damaged batteries that still have a working voltmeter

yea me too... happened to me recently, before upgrading my old magician... after upgrading it with cotulla's ROM, still encountering the problem, but it's no big deal...

Funny i don't own a magician anymore but was looking from nostalja & i find this, anyway cut to the chase i have an extended battery on Kaiser and have had the same scenario, all beit i pop battery give 5 mins and reinsert charge and all fine.
Just funny the 83% as i run 2700 and still same %.

my magician switches off while battery is over 10%

hi somebody, i am having a problem with my O2 xda2 mini, i've been using it for over an year, what happens is it switches off automatically, while battery is still over 10%, and i cannot switch on it, it justs fades and fades to darkness, when i only connect to external power it come, help me let me know what i should do. pls
how abt charging the battery when it reaches at 20%!! why u letting ur battery reach 10%? u can charge it whenevr u want. the Li ion battery does not have a memory effect. u can top it whenevr u want..
Magician is not supposed to run dry. Also, AFAIK, I think Li ions aren't supposed to be run dry, damaging I think.
Magician will automatically shut down extraneous functions to save battery and preserve sufficient juice to maintain memory for a few hours despite your efforts.

i know, but there might be instances that i might not be able to charge but i think 10% is more than enough if i am not making any calls or not doing anything with my magician. anyway i'll recheck my battery if i need to change i'll do so.
asinan: you might think 10% is enough, but Microsoft don't. And for good reason.

So buy a new battery has solved ur problem?
I had this on my Magician too. At about 30% or so... I bought a new battery and sold the device right away, so I never found out if that solved the problem. But...
I have switched to a Mio device, and on their site under Support, I found some interesting info. If you fully discharge before recharging, the battery will live for 300 charges. If you recharge at 30%, it will live for 20.000+ recharges! It doesn't get any clearer than that!
May not be a battery problem
I'm having similar problems. Initially it goes off when the battery level drops below 50%. I bought a new battery and even at 99% the device goes off. Now I have to press and hold the 'ON' button for it to boot up. I am taking it for repairs since I am convinced it is not really a battery problem.
we have the same problem .. any help ?
I got the same problem, but I solve it myself, don know it work with your phone ornot
A day, I take off the back cover of battery when it is working, device off. Then it is on normal, but some time, it turn of automatically. I try to make the back cover and the back of device clean and take of the protect film of LCD, then now, it work OK. I am lucky
Please let us know the outcome of your repair. We have the same issue at 40% and I am not sure whether a new battery will solve the problem

Ive just changed to a new battery and found out that my old battery was swollen up a bit on the surface. Comparing to the new battery, the surface was flat. So if you have the same problem, maybe you should check your battery shape and condition first.
Good luck.

Yes, this is true.... The LED turns green on 99% and never touches 100%. But i did not care much about it as I was more interested in flashing ROMS...though this is a problem.... I have also ordered Anker Batt... waiting for the courier...
I noticed mine did this last night. I just kept it plugged in and it eventually hit 100%. I took about 9 hours for it to hit 100%. Hope its not like that every time. Ill be finding out tomorrow.

I've noticed that the discharge is also a bit strange even on OEM battery. My battery varies very much. Sometimes when I reboot I get 5-10% more juice after boot without putting it to charge

yes same here....what can b causing it.....can it b smthing wrong in s-off procedure
Could it be something to do with the 2.3.3? Cause my battery acted strange even S-ON so I don't think it's the S-OFF procedure itself that caused this. Might be something something to do with battery drivers or something?
AFAIK Li-Ion batteries should never be charged to 100% because it shortens their life, most phones have a safety-mechanism to prevent overcharging.
Its intended to stop charging at 95% to 99%, but will almost always show that the battery is charged to 100% so the customer wont complain about it.
yes HTC is lieing to us, but for our own satisfaction.
So after we flashed the CWM recovery this "feature" is not there anymore and we can see the true charging state.
By plugging the power in and out over and over again to reach 100% you just damage your battery with those short charging cycles.
I read a interrestion thread about it in the Nexus S forums awhile ago and Wikipedia seems to confirm it.
I hope I could help you.

[Q] Freezing / battery charging

My Nexus S constantly freezes on battery. It's very slow, and unresponsive, it rarely stays alive fore more than 5 minutes. It's completely unusable on battery. Oddly, if it's charging it might work (still pretty slow and unresponsive after booting but it eventually sorts itself and works.) Another thing is the battery has *never* held a charge above 95%. Every-so-often it will charge to 96 or 97 but left connected to the charger it will start discharging and settle back to 95%.
It's running CM nightly. the battery charge problem happened even on the stock ROM. The freezing is probably a recent problem, I don't use this phone often enough to know.
Does anyone know about either of these problems? Is it related to CM? I don't want to switch to the stock ROM if I don't have to. The only reason I'm trying to use this phone is my DHD gets abysmal battery life. The other day, barely using the DHD, I went from 100% battery to 10% in just 6 hours.
what do you mean by "freeze on battery" ? i know single word , but when these 3 words combined a sentence , i have no idea
by what you say 95% , that's normal , if you are using kernel that does not indicate it can makes battery charge to 100% , then you won't be charge to 100% , mostly 95% tops , sometimes get pass 95% due to overcharge protection.
i assume your problem is your phone running pretty slow ?
you may wanna check your CPU usage because some applications may be running background and has high CPU usage
also you need check your battery's voltage , low voltage output will make CPU run slow due to not enough power ...
anyway , personal suggestion , first of all , back up your personal data and then flash stock ROM see if it is ROM problem , and then we could think of something else
good luck
Newest cm7 kernel charges to 100, older ones 95 is the norm.

its not a real 100%, its a cosmetic change. its actually charging to the same place it was before, just the number was altered to say 100%. if you look at the mV you will see. 4195-96 is a real 100% charge

"freeze on battery" means that it only freezes when the power source is the battery. Plugged in to my computer or a charger and it doesn't happen.
try use another battery , i think it may be freeze due to low power output that makes CPU and other hardware do not have enough juice to function properly
Solved
I've solved the problem... I removed 120 apps from the phone and have had no problems since. I don't know if it was one particular app causing a problem or just that I had so many installed.
i think it's some of them , becuase i have also that much applications as well ...

any ideas as to what is going on with my battery

I was running venom xl and I'm now running clean rom and I'm experiencing the same behavior in both roms. I wonder if it's a hardware issue or if anyone else was having the same problem. I leave the phone on it's charger during the day while I'm at work. idle drain seems to be fine for most of the time but sometimes when I reset the phone, whats in the photo is what happens.
any ideas? additional clarification needed? I don't think I use the phone much. I might spend 30 minutes on YouTube watching videos during lunch on my lte connection (which on average takes about 15 to 20% battery) but I don't use the phone except for lightly for emails and occasionally social networks.

No wakelocks as far as i can tell.
I'm more concerned about the loss of battery suddenly after restarting the phone, which is why I posted the photo. As you can see, after restarting (the valley in the graph), I "lost" 8% of my charge.
Another weird occurence happened the other day. I had about 20% or so, I was listening to music, and the phone decided to just go from 20 to 10 to off in the span of about 45 seconds. I saw as the battery nose dived and killed itself.
I'm beginning to wonder if my battery cells are dying or are incorrectly reporting a charge to the point where the phone dies while thinking it has more charge than it actually does. Thats why I'm looking for people who may have had the same thing happen to them.
It's not uncommon for the battery meter to lose up to 10% during some reboots. It's also not uncommon for the battery to die more rapidly when it is close to losing charge. It's important to remember that even when we have battery increments of 1% it's not exact, it's only an estimation of the level of your battery. Your battery may not be in very good health, it all depends on what kind of usage it has endured during its lifespan. The more times you discharge this kind of battery fully or close to zero, the faster it is going to degrade. It's more healthy for the battery to receive top-up charges from about ~40% or so.
Sent from my Evita
A "jump" down after a reboot may just be a metering error that is fixing itself. I would think a steady (but faster than normal) decline in battery level to possibly indicate a failing battery. But a vertical (or nearly so) is probably just a metering error. I've seen this happen once or twice on my phone, and everything seems fine with the battery. It just seems like a fluke.
As mentioned, battery metering is far from accurate. It shouldn't be taken for granted that 1% increments, or even close to that are accurate.
Battery life (and whether yours is failing or not) is a very difficult thing to compare, as it depends greatly on how you use your phone, and reception in your area. But the drainage you described, for watching YouTube on LTE (pretty power intensive activity) seems pretty normal to me.

How's battery life holding up after almost a year?

I've recently noticed that the battery on my P3 seems to be dying. I've gone from 1.5 days of use at the start to 0.5 days. I also had some other issues with the port malfunctioning, so I managed to get a replacement under warranty.
Before I send my old unit back to Google, I decided to document how bad the battery has gotten to see if anyone is having similar issues with the phone at ~10mo of use.
Here's a screenshot of what battery looks like on it with a blank flash of stock, left it on airplane mode for the entire day and didn't use:

I bought mine used from Ebay so I have never seen "new" battery life..
Battery lasts less than a day but I have very poor cell reception.
On a new P3, does the 100% less the usage ever equate to current charge?

oh damn, that's a pretty big drop. i bought my pixel last december, but my had to RMA it. My current unit is bouncing between 3 to 5 hours of screen on time.

Roughly 3.5-4 hrs, which after playing with the mate 20 pro it really makes you jealous.

2586 mAh after one year. I would say that's ok, considering that I keep it plugged in over night. As for it's high consumption, i blame it on Android 10. I have no numbers, but it feels like I've lost 1/3 of the capacity since I got the phone...
5 hrs SOT with about 15% left. Kirisakura + Servicely
I was on lineageos, had more than a day. Since I'm back to stock, harshly have more than 12 hours

That is pretty poor. No degradation noticed on my year old Pixel 3. My wife's 3-year old Pixel is about what you are experiencing, and she is due for a battery replacement.
