Just completely disable data connection, 3G and wifi. I'm sure every ROM allows you to do it.
For GPRS/Edge get the "NoData" cab (I think it is on Modaco forum actually, but maybe we have it here in one of the gazillion posts too).
That way you're all set.
I can't tell about other ROMs, but i.e. in my ROM you could just install what you actually need/use and that - together with disabling all the above - would guarantee as minimal battery use as possible.
Anyways, if you're such a heavy user as you say, you should get extended battery. My Kaiser looked terribly bulky with 3200mAh battery, but at least I could use it for entire day exactly as I wanted and it still had enough juice left...
Since you chose TyTN II as your phone, obviously you don't care about phone's look but it's features, right?
It'll always will look crappy compared ti iPhone, but who cares... you can DO many things iPhone can't, and that's the beauty of Kaiser

It's already a brick 1-2 cm more not gonna make no difference
You will not find a best ROM for battery as so many variables in battery life Radio, SPL etc etc.
So only way as said before is to find the best setup for you.

Exactly.
Frankly, not that I want to be mean, by since OP is using his Kaiser for talk/text only or mostly - and don't want "the brick" (which Kaiser already is)then why not use some small "cool looking" dumbphone like iphone, or even RAZR or such...
Carrying basically a portable computer has it's price, ya know
They can miniaturize them even more today, no sweat, but the battery problem remains unsolved, at least until current battery technologies make some significant leap forward.
Either you want capable device with short life, or you add larger battery, or you go for limited capabilities device.
I don't think there is any other way.
Buy a desktop cradle charger with a phone and a battery slot. At night I put my phone and the battery in the charger. In the morning I grab the phone and put the extra battery in my pocket. Double the battery life for the day and you don't make your phone bulkier.
Hey Guys,
I'd like to say that there IS variaties on battery life performance from ROM to ROM, because I am same sensative as bstylz911 on battery life and I did notice that it does matter on which ROM is using.
Generally speaking, a LITE ROM will be more battery friendly than a FULL ROM, if you don't install and run unnessacery programs on it. On the other side, a well cooked WM6.5 ROM on same load, due to its enhanced core, will be better than a WM6.1 ROM for power management.
I can not say which is the best because I did not flash many ROMs in recent two months, but based on my past experience SAKAJATI's Apr. 20th WM6.1 Rhodium Lite ROM has been best for me, another one maybe from -888-, the first replyer for your post, telling from that it is a really lite ROM, maybe there are others recently released, please just read and search 'battery' on each ROM thread for user's comments.
Beside ROM itself, there are many other factors that could affect battery life, please check this thread and all links from the thread for more information:
[res] Battery Conservation Fanatic thread..
Cheers.

Light 6.1 M2D i'd go for but each to there own
radio will play factor based on your location as well a radio that gets "worse" signal in your area could cause more battery drain. exp. cause loss of signal and radio keeps trying to find the network. the age of ones battery plays A BIG ROLE, there are so many factors that you more than likely won't get a straight up answer like you want because all of us know how this works out, and for some reason i've noticed some users (using same radio, rom, spl) have different battery drains, could be due to and app that was installed by user, age of battery, maybe even age of the device itself could possibly play a factor. just try some roms and see what works for you.
P.S. also battery drain is to some degree perception (by user) based as to how long someone may think the battery should last, where another person may feel it should last longer than you thought so there would be one person saying good battery life and the other not pleased with battery life.

OK I just got a HTC Desire HD as an new phone for renewing my contract.
Having come from a sony W995 (and never used / owned and apple product) its taking me a while to adjust to having no phyical keypad.
I did have a Tytan 2, before the sony but that was windows mobile based with the keypad (and that phone did frustrate me)
Still I enjoyed my W995 as it did what i wanted - MP3 player and decent camera, but its starting to show after 18 months!
I do a lot of travelling - flights etc - so wanted something i different.
The battery life on the W995 was great - could listern to the MP3 player for over 12 - 14 hours constant and still have 1/2 battery left.
Now to my questions,
1, The HTC battery life seem very poor so i am looking at getting a newer / higher capacity battery.
Anyone used / got experience with any of these batteries?
http ://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLD-1930mAH-BUSINESS-BATTERY-HTC-DESIRE-BRAVO-G7-/110637329983?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhoneAccessories_MobilePhoneBatteries&hash=item19c27fae3f

Or recommend any ones that will allow the phone to run, say over 10 hours use during flights etc.
2, Are there any decent protective covers for the Desire HD?
Looking at the state, and knowing how many times ive accidently dropped my W995 im sure the HTC wont last!
3, Are there covers with an intergrated battery in? - I remember a friend saying with there I-Phone they had a cover that fitted around the phone - with an integrated battery it to eek out the battery life.
Thanks
Jonathan

Sorry if ive broken the rules, but dont want to spam with 8 pointless posts 1st!
Most of the extended batteries are fake and are actually worse than OEM batteries. Best thing to do is buy extra OEM batteries. As for cases I've heard good reviews about Otterbox's and Casemates.
Those two links are not for the Desire HD, the first is for the normal desire and the second is for the Desire Z.
Thank wasnt sure if they were for the HTC HD, they were linked by someone else.
I take it the battery that fits the HTC DHD only fits that model, and not others?

Yes. And being with an alluminum body, having physically bigger battery to incorporate more cells for higher capacity with a replacement cover is just not possible. Almost all batteries claiming to be "high capacity" are fakes and if they are not, the capacity increase is not so great to be worth it. For example 1800 mAh is clearly a fake and the more plausable 1300 mAh is just 5% increase over the stock 1230 mAh. For more power I think you should go for an external battery with an usb connection. That way you don't have to change the battery in your phone and this is something to be considered given the fragile cover.
For a case with the built-in battery - I haven't heard of such thing for our phones. Neat idea though.
There are a good number of threads about "high capacity" batteries from posters wanting to believe a $10 battery from China is in fact better than HTC's... fakes, don't fall for what an ebay seller is saying.
Search the Accessories subforum & you'll see them.
As stated, currently Mugen offers a 1300mah battery, offering 5% longer life (obviously something non-linear in the calculation there, I get 3.1%)
There is apparently a 1500mah battery from Mugen, look out for the thread in this subforum. That works out at just on 20% extra capacity, probably 25% by their reckoning
It's a big, bulky phone & HTC obviously didn't want to make it feel like a small tablet, although the big screen & processor are very thirsty.
3 options -
Juice Defender and/or use the phone less
make sure when you're at home/work/in the car etc, you have something to charge with
think about a battery pack which plugs into the phone & typically has capacity for 3 full charges or so (if you need power for a sustained period of time). They are about 1/2 the volume of the phone itself, not a bad option.
Whatever it is dont buy from this online store obostore.com, they are just reaping your money..please remind your friends
These batteries are not for the Desire HD? ! ! !
get your dhd rooted! take care with fake batteries as most of them don't have over charge protection....and could actually explode!
Do what once rooted?

Because a/ you won't have wifi connectivity and b/ it will look ridiculous. The stock battery it pretty much the most capacity out phones will ever get. If you can't last a day with it or charge every night, buy an external battery pack.

You can follow the guides in any ROM from the development section here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=765
But you'll need to downgrade (probably, check in settings > about phone > software version, anything above 1.72 build number will need downgrading), root, and s-off (This all looks scary if you haven't done it before, but if you follow the instructions, it's not that bad, if you have any problems these forums are fantastic at helping)
Downgrade - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
Root - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=837519
S-Off - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
The instructions here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964996 - are probably better than my quick ones, but you might want to read all the pages and instructions at least once through before doing anything so you feel like you know what you're doing
I'd also like to recommend LeeDroid as a ROM, fantastic battery life, an easy 2 full days and smooth as anything - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842802
It does take a while but is worth all the effort, and it does all look scary doing things and typing things you don't really know what mean, but if anything does go wrong, this site is fantastic at helping out =)
Agreed about rooting and custom roms, I get a full day easy now
I'm running leedroid 2.2.3 and kernel 2.2.9 vrooom

How is that even technically possible that a rooted DHD or one having a Custom Rom will have a better battery life ? Assuming no additional apps are installed that manage power/CPU/memory stock ROM vs Rooted+Custom ROMs give u almost the same run time.

I believe this has something to do with system and radio optimizations and custom kernels
Would be silly not to install some sort of cpu-management on a custom rom, though.
I really can't understand why people would want to make the phone any bigger than it already is with bulky cases or battery extenders. The phone is already huge..
Hey all,
I’ve been having some issues with the hard drive on my G2 and getting it exchanged through warranty. I’m looking into selling it and picking up a new Sensation on eBay instead. I have a few questions and wanted to get your opinion on the device as I’m a little on the fence. With my G2 I like the stability, screen size and battery life. However I don’t like the thickness, I never use the keyboard and I hate the loose hinge. I like how HTC built the Sensation- it has a larger screen but it is by no means is it a huge phone.
- How is the ‘out-of-box software’ experience? I’m not one to install a different ROM or root and I’m a Mac user with no access to a PC. I liked the G2 ‘almost stock Android’ software and it was very reliable. Do you find it buggy? How bad is the bloatware?
- How is the battery life? This is one of the best features of the G2. It can last a very long day with many tasks. I don’t use a lot of battery-draining activities. I generally check text, email, twitter, Facebook, news and Google Reader throughout the day. Will I get a full day with the Sensation?
Thanks for your advice in advance.
Much poor battery life. With normal usage, it lasts only around half a day. If your criteria is "at least a good battery life", then htc sensation should definitely not be an option for you.

Thanks for the fast responses. After doing some searching, it looks like a lot of people have picked up the Anker battery eBay and have seen excellent results extending battery life. I think with that I could get through a long day.
Will rooting/s-off and removing bloatware help battery life? Also, do you need to have a Windows PC to root/s-off?
Thanks.
This phone stock is terrible compared to rooted. Almost any custom rom is better than stock, battery and performance wise.
The phones good at stock but fairly sluggish, if your keeping it stock its prob not going to be better than the sg2
Also I think u can root from a mac
The stock software is not terrible! I'm not rooted, got launcher pro on it and its very fast! Sense is pretty nice though but lacks when it comes to customising.
You don't need to root to be able to customise the phone a lot. I picked up an anker battery and I like it. With light use I can get 30+ hours. With normal use like you described, texts calls emails facebook browsing the odd game I can easily make it through the day. With heavy use ie lots of screen time you might have to plug it in before bedtime. Depends how long your day is I suppose!
I don't regret buying this phone at all. It's a beautiful device.
Sent from my brain
I am totally stock but S-OFF. In my opinion, you do not need to root or flash custom rom's to appreciate this device. Out of the box, the sensation is already an amazing phone. I don't understand why other people keep saying that it is slow, maybe they have a faulty handset. For me it is very fast! You can't go wrong with this phone.
Is 'root' and 'S-off' not the same thing?
---------- Post added at 12:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:25 PM ----------
Nevermind after some searching, I learned the difference.
s-off means security off...... you need to s-off the device in order to write data into the nand as i understand it(anyone can corect me if im wrong.) root gives you root access to the device and with it you can remove or freeze the bloat ware on your phone. two entirely different things
back on topic: i love my sensation. i get through the day at work without charging it. my usuage is mainly text (heavy text) but i do check facebook, and read news and the occasional phone call. im rooted also but runnin stock rom with bloat ware removed and it works just fine for me. just like yourpassanger said the stock rom is not terrible at all.
Lol have u tried custom roms? I'm telling you android revolution is a lot smoother than stock. I regretted getting this phone till I rooted it, now I'm glad I've got it

You sound like you have a functional brain in your head that actually uses some common sense.
Good.
The phone as I received it is nice, not perfect .... there's no such thing.
Eeyup, there's some useless app's installed, but for someone else they're probably perfect.
I haven't rooted mine because of the warranty factor.
I'm waiting on an Anker battery.
That should make the experience a little nicer.
Let's face it: The more you use the phone like a pocket computer, the harder the processor works and the more battery power it uses.
Therefore,if you use it like a laptop, you'd better be packing some spare batteries or a Mugen 3500.
Otherwise it's a nicely built little phone, with a great screen and good processing power.
Hi, I'm planning on purchasing an HTC Sensation now that I've gotten rid of my iPhone 4.
I do have some issues regarding the purchase. I've seen threads commenting on dust collecting under screen and a poor battery life. Are these issues common on the phone? And if they are, is it possible to clean out the screen when the issue occurs? I've heard about a 1900mAh battery so I guess that's a better fix for the battery.
I'm on a T-Mobile family plan with no data plan. If I purchase an unlocked Sensation, will T-Mobile automatically add a data plan to my line? This happened to me when I used my iPhone 4 I got as a present on my AT&T line.
Thanks!
Not had my phone for all that long so I can't comment on the dust under the screen issue yet. But for battery life there are a few things that can be done, if you root your phone you can get SetCPU and underclock your phone when it's screen is off to extend the battery life or get Juice Defender, which disables wifi and data when the screen is off but turns them back on every 15 minutes to allow it to sync and will then turn them off again to save battery.
But even without a rooted phone, although the battery life certainly isn't good it will just about get you through a long day. But obviously you can also get a 19000mAh battery or even a further extended one as well as an external battery that can charge your phone up providing you don't mind carrying one around.
Also, can the Sensation play flash videos natively? I've heard some mixed claims regarding that.
I have had the Sensation for quite some time now and I don't have one spec of dust under my screen. And battery life is good. It last me through the day but I bought the Anker 1900mAh battery because it is so cheap and so amazing lol.
I would recommend the Sensation to anyone.
Anker 10,000 maH battery......
I purchased the Anker 10,000 maH battery. I had to...... I use my phone all day long. So I really don't turn on my main computer everyday. Especially since I installed a terminal emulator on my Sense. Now I can correct code, and scripts on the fly. I can re-charge my phone 5 times with this brick. Fits in my shirt pocket, and it takes an hour from 10% battery to 100%. Not bad.....

I have an XE, great screen, no dust and good battery life.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
Dust under the screen is a common issue, but it's only a lot more common than it should be - the number of Sensations affected is still a very low amount. The safest way to take care of it is to go through T-Mo or HTC and they'll clean it out. Trying to do it yourself will definitely void the warranty cause you'll have to dismantle the phone.
Battery can be terrible, but a chichitec, anker, or mugen 1900mAh battery along with a good rom/kernel/clockspeed combo fixes that. I'm on Android HD 3.x gingerbread with the stock kernel, clocked at 1.5Ghz when the screen is on, 768Mhz when it's off, heavy user and I can make it through the day. The other thing to consider is how you use the phone. The Super-LCD looks crazy crisp, and it is, sunlight visibility is great and color reproduction is nice - although it's no SAMOLED. Here's the problem though, it's a mega power drainer. If you listen to a lot of music on your phone or maybe stream Pandora comedy, you shouldn't have any issues. If you're an all-day facebooker or constantly texting/emailing, that screen will destroy your battery and I couldn't recommend the phone, as much as I love it Don't get me wrong, you could do it, but you'll probably need a spare battery or a charger with you.
With the 1900mAh battery, I can have the screen on constantly and texting/emailing/browsing for about 3 hours straight. If I keep the screen on and play games, 2 and a half hours. Not much difference even though one is a lot more intensive than the other. The S-LCD panel is a huge battery drain.
I haven't had any problems with dust under the screen.
Battery life great for the amount of time i use the phone everyday (screenshot attached).
If you're up for it i'd suggest you flash a custom ROM to use the full potential of the phone. Personally i like Android Revolution HD, but it's all down to personal preference. Try a few different ones and use what you like the most.
Hi guys!
First things first:
Happy New Year to everyone!
I'm thinking of an upgrade (from HTC Vision & iPhone 4S) and looking at Sensation as an option and I've got a few questions regarding that.
My main concern is it not to late to jump to a Sensation? are there good developers still around? I remember RMK jumped from G2 to sensation, and he's still here, how about others? Any rumors or plans to abandon Sensation? I'd imagine alot of them getting the new GN, I can't really be bothered, rather have an option between Sense and AOSP.
My other question would be is the hardware acceleration fully functional on current ICS roms?

I'm running RVHD 5.02 and its still running at 1.2 GHz.. I haven't figured out why. I'm running super tuner, and setcpu. It's running quick, but not at the advertised speed.

It's "there" but it doesn't run very well. Barely feels like its on. Just wait a month or two, and stable ICS will be released.

Despite having GNexus I would recommend the HTC Sensation. Had it before gnex and it's very good phone. Had two small issues :
1) battery under heavy use drain fast - bigger battery recommended.
2) random ringtone/notification change (this could be related to 2.08.401.1 ROM, which isn't officially released, but is a test ROM).
Other than this is VERY good device and won't let you down.

Disappointing? Nothing . Only issue I had, was the "volume ghost", but after flashing 4.0.2 all OK. It's different device and as I was hard addict to Sense, I'm surprised how quickly get used to GNex. Love it
i have no dust on my screen yet. i buy it 3 month ago.
ps:i come from China.hah
The dust problem is annoying, but it's no problem to get a new phone when the first one has dust under the screen. The Akku is okey for one day full use, when you load it every night. When you need better akku there are good ones with 1900mAh, on Amazon Germany for example the one by Anker.
Thanks for the input everybody!
Regarding the data plan. I currently have a family plan with no data. When I purchase my Sensation on ebay or any other auction site, and then use my T-Mobile sim, will I automatically be added a data plan?
Got an Sensation which has been running ARHD since the day after i bought it.
The first day i got it i held the phone when my hans were full of diesel, so the screen some small marks from the wet diesel. Didnt do anything with the functions of the phone. Unless that, the phone turns off sometimes. Dont know if this is rom related, as i went to ARHD the day after i bought it
That was just to explain everything thats happend to the phone. This was when i bought it, had it for a year now i think, and its been smooth!
But the last weeks its been a real pain in the ass!!
When using it, and when im not using it, sometimes it gets really hot. I'ts always gotten hot when using it hard, normal hot, but this is different.
It gets so hot on the lower part of the phone (back and front), that its actually HOT to touch.
So hot that is smells warm plastic, just like it does before it melts
And the battery is horrible, im 99% it because of the heat, or a combination.
For instance, the phone last about 8-12 hours, IF I DONT USE IT?
Like now, the phone was at 100%, was on internet for 2 minutes exactly, and sendt 1 text, the battery is now down to 82%.
I reset battery stats yesterday, stil same issue.
The heat and battery problem occured for a couple of weeks ago, and havent been this way before.
The battery gets hot also, but i dont know if its the heat transfered from the phone, or if the battery transfers the heat to the phone.
Also when the phone turns off, i get the blinking orange light when i try to charge it, sometimes it wont charge at all.
And when battery is below 40-50% the phone acts all wierd, for example:
-When taking a photo, the phone turns off after the picture is taken
-Cant listen to spotify, changes songs every 5 secound, and calls the last person i called all the time automaticly
-When i try to call people, it turns the phone off.
Phone specs now, and for the last 3 months is
ARHD 3,6,3
Kernel: 2.6.35.14-Sensation-faux123-v0.2.3b+
Radio: 10.56.9035.00U-10.14.9035.01_M
Any ida? Im going to try with a mate's battery to see if its the batterys fault
I've also thought about contacting HTC, maybe it could be a warranty case.
But since the phone has some small wet marks behind the screen, ill guess they just blame it on that?
pls dont take this as a promotion, i just wanna help you, as i felt the same thing with you when using gb roms, very hot and fast battery drain
ppl that have been using blitz5 or blaze 2 have said they got pretty good batt life ( u can see for ur self in some of the rom threads) with HTC stock kernel, it might help you mate, and it doesnt get hot quite easily too (very hard to get hot) if ur using HTC stock kernel which comes out with it, which infact is already smooth as, so no need for unlocked kernels

WTH is wrong with you? YOU ARE promoting your ROM , if you cant help him dont post at all. I'm sick of your useless posts that only advertise your ROM
OP it looks like a you have serious hardware problems, its maybe the diesel that got inside or you sensation was defective from the start BUT no software will be able to fix that . Moreover, I suggest you replace it or ask HTC for a replacement (if you still have the warranty ) its dangerous to carry that phone around , your battery might explode

mate, please. I dont want to debate this over and over again especially on a thread posted by a guy who needs help.
Im saying, maybe he can give it a try as it might help his battery drainage problem and overheating, that I too face when i used to use GB roms. ( I seriously mean this because i seriously faced this prob before, and i think ICS will fix his issue)
Please, im just trying to give a suggestion and if u think that wasnt a suggestion/help for the OP to maybe fix the batt issue, u should go f urself mate,
im tired of reading ppl saying this and that towards my posts, even though im giving a suggestion to a guy that needs help in regarding battery issue,
pls, idont wanna debate a bout this unnecessary stuff again, lets stay on topic
Go back to the original stock rom the phone came with.
If your getting overheating issues with stock, then chances are there is something wrong with it.

it definitely seems like a hardware issue but then again, a different rom with an upgraded android OS can solve the issue. But as for the battery life, I bought the ANKER battery which has more capacity compared to the stock battery and the size of the ANKER battery is the same as the stock, so it won't make your phone bulky at all, nor would it require for you to get a new back cover

Useless posts? The only useless posts I see is yours...His posts and his PMs helped me so much. I'm sure I can find hundreds of people that will agree that he is a great help anywhere he posts And he clearly stated that he is not promoting his rom.
Have a good day and forget about this negativity!
PS: I had heating issues with insertcoin 4.5.4...The weird thing is that it came all of a sudden. I've been using it for 10 days and no heating issues. But today it overheated and drained 50% of the battery
Hi this is a long shot but I think your problem might be spotify...
I am running same ROM as you, and have been experiencing similar issues since getting spotify. I also found out that spotify isn't actually officially supported on our phones.
When did u get spotify? like I said this is a long shot, could just be a coincidence.

dont feed the trolls
I've had this happen twice with my stock 02 UK Sensation in the 3 months i owned it and it has happend once with the replacement Sensation they issued because of a screen fault.
when it happens, the phone will get quite hot to the touch fairly quickly, even when on standby and the battery will drop dramatically. Taking the battery out and letting it all cool down fixs it.
I have had this with the stock battery and also with an anker battery on the new device.
It never feels like it is going to get hot enough to burn, but it does get worryingly hot.
This also happend maybe 2 or 3 times in 18 months with my HD2 - that was also stock.

Even if it was promoting (which it's not), what's wrong with promoting a successful rom that people actually are saying they're battery life is improved? It's not like OP is signing a contract that they'll stay on a certain rom. The OP can try the rom, and if it doesn't work, can remove it and try something else.
I use battery drain analyzer to see how fast my drain is..
The problems OP describe seems to be faced by me too. I can last 8-12 hours without using it and mobile network on.
A little bit of multi work, switichong between apps causes my phone to heat up and battery drain shoots sky rocket with up to 2% per min!
Cause of this, no chance for me to play games without a charger as 30 minutes of game could just deplete my entire battery.
Does this really seems like hardware related?

I dont really wanna continue this debate and change the subject of this thread but his attitude towards others and the community annoy me. I cant explain why but to me he is like that Best Buy employee who tires to sell you additional warranty service or a gold high Def cable
I think if someone want to say something they should say it directly without all the crap like "It may sound like I'm promoting my ROM but I'm not...."
On topic, it seems OP didnt respond to the thread yet but as others have suggested maybe he should try a different battery, that might help to eliminate "faulty phone" theory

If at all possible, try purchasing a anker battery. The stock battery sucks in my opinion. The anker battery is always at 25 C and also lasted significantly longer while the stock battery shot up to high temps and didn't last as long. This is just a guess also but doesn't efficiency reduce when there is heat? More heat = less battery life (just a guess). ROM's also help in reducing battery usage so I would suggest switching to an ICS ROM since my battery life significantly improved after switching. I personally use Virtuous Inquisition.

Heating up is the battery issue rather than that of the phone?
And im using ICS btw! IC 4.5.4

I do think it's battery related but I can't be 100% sure.
When the phone gets really hot, try going to the dialer and typing in *#*#4636#*#* and then click battery information. Then look at the temperature and health of the battery. Then report back here with what it said.
Ah, didn't notice. I think that should be fine ROM-wise.
anyone know why there are no roms or kernels for this phone? wonder if it's because of a locked bootleader? that and the fact that the battery life sux balls i think i might return this. i love the camera and the feel of it but it's still rather laggy even after the newest update
thanks all
No roms and kernels because no custom recovery.
No custom recovery because locked bootloader.
Not sure why you're getting poor battery performance.
Battery life is brilliant for me, I can go a whole day of normal use (my normal use is probably heavy use to most people) and still have 40% when I go to bed .
What kind of apps are you using to get such lag and battery drain?
Yea, i see everyone complaining about the battery life but i have had no issues with battery life or drainage.
that was with just the basics installed. 100 percent when i start the day around 8:30 the used it to stream pandora for an hour on the way to work. then it sat in my pocked unused and the battery was at 15 percent by 1.
this is even with my battery saver proggie running that cuts of the wifi and cell antenna's when screen is off. no idea im assuming the battery is defective. but now that i know there's not gonna be roms and such i think i might just say fark it and get the m9. i see that there are already tons of roms for that. and i came from a og 3vo so i recognize all the developers.
it's just a bummer i love the curve and the camera on this thing. this is also my third gflex 2 since i got it 3 days ago. the first one just started bootlooping after fifteen mins, the second did the same and now the third seems to work good but the battery life is horrible.
tis a predicament rofl.
thanks for the info gang
j
If that's the case then you might be right about a defective battery.
Either that or the screen is coming on in your pocket, you'd probably notice your skin burning as the phone heats up though.
Have you checked Settings> Battery> Battery Usage, just to see what's using the most battery?
If you're not happy with the flex 2, the m9 is a great phone.
I got my hands on a prototype about 6 months before release, the only reason I didn't get one is that it just didn't feel right in my hand.
Battery life compare to my old Flex 1 is crap. I know its smaller and better screen resolution, but still my old G2 had better battery life than Flex 2 with same screen resolution and battery.
OP should go cr8 it
