As many of you knows, in messages we can create new folders. After that you can move your messages to that folder under menu/move to.
My problem is, when you try to move a message, the new folder doesn't appear in the selection screen, in fact, doesn't appear any of them.
Someone know how to fix this? or I missing something in the process?

er...that's it really. I'm curious as to which database holds the SMS's that come in. Is it one DB per folder (i.e., inbox, deleted items, etc) or does one database take care of all SMS's?
Thanks.
It's quite hard to find out, and it involves using a program like Pocket dbExplorer.
They are held in a system database, though in my experience it is never the same name from one installation to the next. A good way to look is to look at the number of messages in your sms inbox, then look for a folder (usually one of the larger ones) that has the same record count. The messages are stored in the expected way: fields for date, time, sender, message content etc. Depending on the program you use you can export or back up the table, but AFAIK they are all cross referenced and won't work 100% as before should you try to restore them after, say, a hard reset. You would also need to rename the table when restoring as it won't be the same any longer.
As far as SMSs YOU'VE sent, the process is much the same. However, this table appears even further cross referenced as even when you restore it and rename / overwrite it, the messages themselves are missing with only the headers showing in your Sent Items. If someone has a way to more effectively back up the texts (without using SMS Save or whatever it's called) then I'd be interested to know.
Cheers
Anthony
Thanks!
Export SMS/MMS/Email messages onto Storage Card
Hi,
Have you tried this one:
http://xpocketpc.fw.hu
For a while now my universal has been doing really strange when it comes to seeing my text messages. All the folders of "text messages" have disappeared, so no starting a message, saving it to drafts and retrieving it, and I only get a folder called IPM.root. Every once and a while, my inbox will reappear when I press the message-key on my keyboard, but if I want to browse folder, to go to email for instance, I get IPM.root again and no messages.
I've tried various things, like installing the trial of Flexmail, but that did not help, I couldn't see anything. Interestingly, Pocketbreeze is able to pick up my inbox messages in the tab. I've been looking around the "windows" folder, but haven't found any easy solutions. I figure something went wrong in the system, but I'm not a programmer that can dive into the registry and write code.
Anyone have any ideas? All help would be welcome.
Thanks
I have been working on my own firmware based on the AT&T 1.61 firmware, and I have run into an interesting problem. When I access the messages application, what used to be a "Text Messages" inbox (in some of my older ROMs) has become a "Messages" inbox. However, I did not install or build Arcsoft MMS into my firmware. Even more interesting is that there is an option to create a new MMS, but when it is selected, nothing happens. Has anyone else run into this before or does anyone have any suggestions for me?
My unfounded guess is that the problem has something to do with some file in the OperatorPKG folder (I only have the mxip files and the AudioPara file).
Within the AT&T Rom you have a "Messages" Folder. This is for system Messages such as when you register OTA for Exchange/Blackberry service. It was always there in the folders, but it did NOT show up on the Account Selection page. Since the Text/MMS is woven into arcsoft you are left with only the System message account dubbed "Messages".
This is why you also at times will see posts about people saying HTC Home says they have messages, but Exchange/BBerry is empty.
I don't know if this is an issue with touch flow 3d or what. Maybe you guys have a work around or experienced this. Through my exchange server I set up rules to seperate mail into differnent folders Obviously, helps keeps things organized. I managed the folders so that the appropriate folders sync with active sync. What bothers me though is if it goes to a subfolder there is no reminder. Nothing lets me know its there. No vibration, no alarm, and TF3D doesnt say i have any new messages. Thanks in advance for any help.
I do believe this is a known issue with windows mobile. I don't think it has anything to do with manila, but I did hear people with Moto Droids complaining that their mail wouldn't even push to their other folders unless they manually opened the folder. Sorry I don't know of any fix for this. Maybe you can change the rule to put a copy in the folder or something so you can just delete the message in your inbox after you have seen it. Good luck
Anyone know of an App for WM6.1 that makes a random sound play (out of a folder of wav's or something) each time I get a new SMS? Like, I can create a folder called "NotificationsSnds" and fill it with a bunch of wav's, set up the app, and every time I get a text, it plays a random file out of that folder? Even if it just went by a cycle that'd be fine too.
Moved as not software release.
