Interesting Dilema - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

I have been working on my own firmware based on the AT&T 1.61 firmware, and I have run into an interesting problem. When I access the messages application, what used to be a "Text Messages" inbox (in some of my older ROMs) has become a "Messages" inbox. However, I did not install or build Arcsoft MMS into my firmware. Even more interesting is that there is an option to create a new MMS, but when it is selected, nothing happens. Has anyone else run into this before or does anyone have any suggestions for me?
My unfounded guess is that the problem has something to do with some file in the OperatorPKG folder (I only have the mxip files and the AudioPara file).

Within the AT&T Rom you have a "Messages" Folder. This is for system Messages such as when you register OTA for Exchange/Blackberry service. It was always there in the folders, but it did NOT show up on the Account Selection page. Since the Text/MMS is woven into arcsoft you are left with only the System message account dubbed "Messages".
This is why you also at times will see posts about people saying HTC Home says they have messages, but Exchange/BBerry is empty.

Text message woes

For a while now my universal has been doing really strange when it comes to seeing my text messages. All the folders of "text messages" have disappeared, so no starting a message, saving it to drafts and retrieving it, and I only get a folder called IPM.root. Every once and a while, my inbox will reappear when I press the message-key on my keyboard, but if I want to browse folder, to go to email for instance, I get IPM.root again and no messages.
I've tried various things, like installing the trial of Flexmail, but that did not help, I couldn't see anything. Interestingly, Pocketbreeze is able to pick up my inbox messages in the tab. I've been looking around the "windows" folder, but haven't found any easy solutions. I figure something went wrong in the system, but I'm not a programmer that can dive into the registry and write code.
Anyone have any ideas? All help would be welcome.
Thanks

Where Did It Go?

K I looked and searched and i couldnt find it but kind of similiar. For The Timestamp For SMS It Just Stopped Appearing When I Get A New SMS In My Inbox. (NOTE: I am not talking about when you open the message and the date and the timestamp is there.) Im talking when you hit messages and you see who sent it, then some of the message if its long, and then the timestamp. but now it just shows the date instead of the timestamp now for some reason. I already went into my regional settings and redid English (US), then the times and it still displays the date instead of the timestamp when it was recieved. Is There A Fix For This. I noticed It has been doing that in Explorer 1.1 And Faria's Rom's. Just Wondering If There Is A Fix Or Registry Entry? Im using Faria's Latest Rom Release. Excellent Rom To!
Thx.

Wm6.1 Sms Inbox Question?

in wm6 when i went into messages/sms/inbox there would be a complete list of messages sent to me and they would be individual irrespective of where they came from.
now in wm6.1 there is a list of received messages but if i get another message from the same number it puts it inside itself and calls itself
"conversation with" so if you click on a message from 12345 it opens up loads of other messages from 12345.
when inside you can't delete individual messages but you can delete the first message in the inbox but then that deletes all messages in its sub folder.
my question is simple...can anyone advise how i can go back to using the wm6 version of messages/inbox?????
i know theres a boffin out there with the answer
Yep - take a look here and install the "Disable SMS threading" cab file
Hope this helps

Or, you could get off your high horse and help the poor geezer.
thanx dontpanic you are elevated to a god like status in my eyes.....
only upgraded the rom 4 days ago and didn't know this particular thing was called "sms threading" (thats why i couldn't do a search orb3000) i just knew it was bloody irritating..found the cab as you helpfully advised and it works tip top so i'm a happy bunny again.....(amazing how the little things bug us)
Hehe! Its the first CAB I install on a new 6.1 ROM
Simple switch ...
This is how I did it:
Goto --> start-settings
Then click on the "system" tab at bottom
Look for "Text Messaging" and select
Here you can change from "Threaded" to "Classic"
Hope this helps .

Email messaging problem

Hello,
I have a problem with my Hermes WM6, Dopod Vanilla build.
It was working perfectly but after installing some apps, I cant create a new messaging account. If in the messaging I select menu tool, new account, nothing happens. Or if I go to tool, option, and tap an existing email account to alter, nothing happens.
I am nearly there - I know it is a bad registry setting.
I assume that all the messaging settings are here:-
HKey_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
Please can someone with WM6 export the keys in this folder/sub folder and then I can find out what is causing the problem.
Thank you
Matt
Can someone upload an export - I assume that I should have an MMS group of registry entries - these are missing.
I got all the default settings.
For future reference they are pasted down below so if you have and mail problems, you can check your settings:-

[Q] Cannot send downloaded images via MMS (multiple apps tried)

I'm having an issue when I want to send pictures to friends. Here is my process:
1. I download the image from the chrome browser, and it saves in my /download folder.
2. I compose an MMS message by either starting the app and adding the picture or going from the gallery and sharing via the app.
The receiver does not get the image, they receive a message that says:
"One or more of the message components have been deleted by MMS Adaptation. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your handset"
This occurs with both iPhone and Android users.
This does NOT occur with screen shots or images captured by my camera, only with images downloaded and saved to my device.
I'm on 4.4.4 now but this has been happening since I got my Nexus. I'm on Cricket and I've verified my APN settings are in line with theirs
https://www.cricketwireless.com/sup...ice-byod/customer/bring-your-own-android.html
I've tried this with Hangouts, Textra, ChompSMS, GoSMSPro just this morning. I believe I've also tried Handscent and 8sms in the past with the same results.
Anyone else with this issue that found a solution?
