Hey,
Just purchased a desktop cradle for my Touch Pro and love it.
Is there some sort of application I can install which takes over the entire screen of the device and can tell me the time, show how many SMS/MMS, Emails or any other useful info I need but in large touch friendly buttons so i can easily use it from my desk?
Thanks
Regards,
Neil
I like lakeridge's Windows Advanced Desktop.
Very configurable, but a bit of a fanny-on to get set up the way you want it. Wouldn't swap my TyTn2 for the world now though.

Simple request
Does anybody know of a simple utility that can incorporate Tasks into Pocket Outlook. Tasks then will be intergrated into the calander and will use the appointment screen to set a task. Also this utility should manage to display a full weeks appointments and task in sequence - not seperated.
Thanks in anticipation

There's a free today screen plugin that shows combined tasks and appointments...
http://tiews.info/index.php?show=software/todayagenda
I've given up on it for now but it seemed to work ok. Not as advanced as other plugins like PocketBreeze but much lower overhead associated with using it.
Have reverted back to standard plugins even though they are pretty pathetic since the plugin didn't seem to cope with orientation switching too well - an annoyance when using it with a device with a slide out landscape keyboard.
PocketBreeze for Me!!
I can't comment on TodayAgenda, as I've never tried it. I found it on these forums after purchasing PocketBreeze. But, from everything I've read about it on that thread, it's a very good program.
However, I WILL say that I LOVE PocketBreeze, and it would be virtually impossible (IMO) to find anything that even comes close. It does exactly what the OP wanted, plus more. It's the only plugin I use on my Today Screen, and it allows for Custom tabs to be set for other plugins, as well. So, I have iLauncher, Pocket Weather and Spb Time integrated into PB as custom tabs and from that can access virtually everything on my Wizard from the Today Screen through Pocket Breeze.
There's a 14 day free trial period, but I was sold on it after only 3 days and bought it. Others may have different views, but for me -- it's the BEST!!
I've use both todayAgenda and pocketbreeze. For the price of todayAgenda, there isnt really much to 'complain' about, other than the fact that, it doesn't display tomorrow as 'Tomorrow', which is quite annoying (that it lowered the importances of the task/schedule).
Anyway, I'm using pBreeze now and no complain so far. It is highly customizable which others may find annoying, but if you want to have full control on your display, go for it. I so wish I get commission for selling this software
Check new todayAgenda 0.95 beta and check spbDiary with better phone contacts handling (hardware keyboard) than pocketBreeze.
Thanks everybody.
TodayAgenda works well for me. Exactly what I wanted.

Hi,
This is probably a no, (and i've searched for this already btw but not found anything), but....
Is it possible to launch a different application other than the touch cube when you slide your thumb up the screen ?
thanks in advance
Matt
Yes it is, but not with the normal TouchFlo. Search for FTouchFlo, it does basically the same, but you can assign any command to each direction of sliding your finger over the screen.
That means four different possibilities.
Don't know if this helps, but you can try this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1971424
Note that VJBrisk is basically just a tiny app I made to allow you to replace one executable (eg BioTouch.exe), with VJBrisk, and VJBrisk will allow you to launch a shortcut with parameters.
You may well not need to do that step, depending on your needs. The thread above explains this much better than my mumblings.

cheers chaps, will take a look at these.
I had hoped it was as simple as a registry change but guess not
thanks
Matt
Use UltimateLauncher, and get rid of TouchFLO Cube. It also lets you assign functions to run any .EXE or .LNK to swipes in all 4 directions. That's what I did. But I only use Up and Down. Up to get open my contacts and down to invoke the S2U2 screen lock.
I've decided to go with vjbrisk which is working very well at the moment.
however, even with show all files I am unable to fine either LaunchStartupApp.lst or Launchstartupapp in the windows file. Am using a polaris (o2 orbit 2)...any ideas where I can find this or if it's called anything else.
It's not the end of the world, would just be useful to free up 5mb or so.
cheers
Matt
Hey guys, I am looking for the best Rom for when it comes to using just your finger and not stylus. I hate having to take out the stylus every time I need to do something on my phone. What are your thoughts on the best Rom for this? Or maybe it would just be a stripped down rom, and you have a better program for it? Let me hear your thoughts!

You might as well get out a knife and sharpen your finger. No matter how cool the Manila 2D interface is, (or its predecessor, HTC Home), they all break down once you launch a Windows application.
To quote Pushing Daisies: "The facts are these:"
Windows CE was originally written for d-pad operation
In most Windows CE apps, you can still use a d-pad and/or softkeys in lieu of touching the screen
Core Windows apps will probably never live down the use of a stylus. My recommendation is to buy a decent quality dual-operation pen/stylus. I nearly always need a pen for something at work. As long as I don't let anyone else use it (read: steal it), it's always handy.
Currently I am using S.V.I's Hornet Manila Beta 3.8.
I am using my Wizard for internet browsing, viewing my e-mail, working on Word, Excel & Powerpoint documents, playing some games & ofcourse for speaking & messaging.
I am doing all the above with my finger & the D-pad. I use the stylus only for some games.-
Hi,
I came from the TP2 WinMo world. I miss PhoneAlarm. It was an all-in-one place where all relevant information was shown in a skinnable interface, it could be a simple toolbar or take over the entire screen.
Does anyone know any applications like that for Android.
The PhoneAlarm website is:
http://www.pocketmax.net/phonealarm.html
Thanks in advance.
I've used Phone Alarm a lot using my TP2. But more so only for the fact it has auto profiles so I didn't have to worry about putting my phone to silent when work started and when it ended.
I don't know a complete replacement that you can skin.
But if your just looking for the auto profiling (controlling - wifi, brightness, notifcations etc)
I use Timeriffic, free in the Market
I am considering changing from an HTC Blackstone to a Leo.
My worry is: with the Leo's capacitive screen is it possible to enter or change data in a spreadsheet accurately? The stylus entry with a Blackstone is fairly easy to do. I recently tried an Android phone and it was useless for this task, also the contacts program was not usable for my work needs.
Using Pocket Informant I can search for any item - town, phone number, address etc. So it seems I need a good Windows Mobile phone to do what I need for my work. I thought the Leo might be the last chance for me if I want something faster. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Rick O
Well Rick after reading your post I have opened an excel sheet with my Leo and Artemis ROM (which is almost stock), and I can tell you that I was easily browsing it, even though it has a capacitive screen.
I used a not very large excel file, just 220 lines and 3 Columns. As the screen is big it is easy to select the one that I wanted. If I had a problem, the pinch to zoom works wonders, letting you select accurately the one that you want.
It is not the perfect tool for excel, but then again, no smartphone is (at least for me).
I would suggest to go to a store, try it out, and see for yourself.
Good luck.
Thanks!
I have tried to find one in a store but no luck so far.
