Re-program touch flo action (change application launched) - Touch Cruise General

Hi,
This is probably a no, (and i've searched for this already btw but not found anything), but....
Is it possible to launch a different application other than the touch cube when you slide your thumb up the screen ?
thanks in advance
Matt

Yes it is, but not with the normal TouchFlo. Search for FTouchFlo, it does basically the same, but you can assign any command to each direction of sliding your finger over the screen.
That means four different possibilities.

Don't know if this helps, but you can try this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1971424
Note that VJBrisk is basically just a tiny app I made to allow you to replace one executable (eg BioTouch.exe), with VJBrisk, and VJBrisk will allow you to launch a shortcut with parameters.
You may well not need to do that step, depending on your needs. The thread above explains this much better than my mumblings.

cheers chaps, will take a look at these.
I had hoped it was as simple as a registry change but guess not
thanks
Matt

Use UltimateLauncher, and get rid of TouchFLO Cube. It also lets you assign functions to run any .EXE or .LNK to swipes in all 4 directions. That's what I did. But I only use Up and Down. Up to get open my contacts and down to invoke the S2U2 screen lock.

I've decided to go with vjbrisk which is working very well at the moment.
however, even with show all files I am unable to fine either LaunchStartupApp.lst or Launchstartupapp in the windows file. Am using a polaris (o2 orbit 2)...any ideas where I can find this or if it's called anything else.
It's not the end of the world, would just be useful to free up 5mb or so.
cheers
Matt

Using hardware keyboard to switch languages

Hi all,
I've had my TP for about a month now and it's great and thanks for all the great info and tweaks on the board.
I have Chinese (CE Star) installed as a selectable writing language so I was wondering is it possible to use/remap the hardware keyboard to switch between writing languages like on a desktop PC (ALT+Shift) since it is much more convienient using keys to switch than taking my hands off the keyboard and pulling up the SIP.
I tried using PQzII but I couldn't get it to work, so no luck there.
Any suggestions?
Any ideas?
If you can get a program that will switch with a command line, at least on the AT&T Fuze, there are a number of shortcuts the keyboard driver looks for on keypress, and if you have that shortcut there it will execute that rather than the pre-programmed function. People are using this to remap the short PTT button and long PTT button.
I have not looked at a Touch Pro keypad driver dll, so I don't know what shortcuts it's looking for.. but that's one idea
Oh great thanks for the suggestion, but aside from a registry editor, I'm not familiar with other programs which alter how the TP works.
Is command line similar to "Run-->cmd" on windows?
Also, I got my phone in Hong Kong; English OS with the Chinese software installed; it's an unlocked phone so dunno if that will make a difference with your suggestion.
Are there other programs similar to PQzII; like many others have said, the keyboard would be SO much more useful if it can be mapped. Thanks again.
Yes, the command line for a shortcut behaves the same as Run -> Cmd on windows, you provide arguments in the same manner: programname.exe -argument
So if you could find a program that would switch writing languages with an argument like -Chinese and -English, you could create a shortcut .lnk with that command in it.
Then, name it to whatever the keypad.dll is looking for, and it would execute that command instead of the default one.
If you'd like me to look into this further, I can disassemble the keypad.dll and determine which buttons can be remapped in this manner (on the fuze it's Music, SMS, IM, CV, Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Web, Long/Short Power, Long/Short PTT)
Great, thanks for the offer, but no need to do that. Seems like it'd take a good deal of time unless you feel so inclined to haha; perhaps I'll try PQzII again or maybe not.
But anyways thanks again!
I guess a question to everyone else that switches between typing languages...how do you change languages? Do you have a shortcut or do you also, like me, change languages through the SIP menu?

Shortcut to Lock Screen

I was wondering ( and I have done a search first ) if there was a way to initiate the windows lock screen where you have to input a pin. I wanted to be able to add a shortcut to the menu to lock the phone so that the pin has to be entered rather than waiting for it to time out. I am guessing its going to be one of those simple requests that is actually quite hard to do.
Specifically I am using an HTC TyTn II with WM6.1
Many thanks
Check this thread
I guess the easiet way would be to write a few lines of code similar to what this user has done. Ofcourse...writing code is a different ball game altogether. If your device was running on WM6....I think this would be exactly what you'd be looking for.
Hope this helps.
Wow, actually this seems to work under WM6.1
Thank you so much for pointing this out to me...
Actually, I am looking for something like that too. I need a simple StartMenu shortcut for my Omnia II (i8000) to just lock my screen on demand (with WinMo default lockscreen).
Anybody knows, what the system file is, that executes device lock?

Making a cab

Well, I have looked around and found winCE Cab manager as I have googled and searched. There is not just a easy "Answer" that I was able to find, although there might be one right in front of my face.
So, if some can KINDLY just tell me how to make a simple cab, just to change a registry edit, I would be happy.
Just an example as this is a madeup reg keystring:
HKLM-system-htc-software-blah-blah-blah, in key touch, value is set to 0, but I want my cab, once installed to change that value to 1.
I also want to be able to revert back to the original setting if I was to remove the cab.
So, for the short and skinny answer, is there an easy way to make this happen?
will i have to use the WinCE cad maker software, or, do I need something else??
I want my cab to be able to run on my Sprint TouchPro running WM 6.1.
Thanks in advance for the help. And thanks to everyone who refrains from telling me to search as they didn't read the top of my post. Thank you.

Create a lauch icon next to "START"

I received my HTC Diamond2 (English) few days ago. This is my first pocket PC, and, this is my first contact with Windows Mobile. So, please excuse me if I don't know something obvious.
Well, I installed Advanced Japanese IME, as I need to read and write in Japanese. With a lot of trouble, I finally found a way to switch languages. To do this, I have found a small program called "kbdswitch", which works well now.
But, I would like to create an icon in the position between "START" and the system icons at the top of the screen. An icon like the one created by PQz2 will be perfect, and I would like to assign "kbdswitch.exe" to it. This way, the icon is almost always visible and I can run "kbdswitch" to switch languages.
Is there a way to do this. I will greatly appreciate any hint going in this direction...

HTC and spreadsheets

I am considering changing from an HTC Blackstone to a Leo.
My worry is: with the Leo's capacitive screen is it possible to enter or change data in a spreadsheet accurately? The stylus entry with a Blackstone is fairly easy to do. I recently tried an Android phone and it was useless for this task, also the contacts program was not usable for my work needs.
Using Pocket Informant I can search for any item - town, phone number, address etc. So it seems I need a good Windows Mobile phone to do what I need for my work. I thought the Leo might be the last chance for me if I want something faster. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Rick O
Well Rick after reading your post I have opened an excel sheet with my Leo and Artemis ROM (which is almost stock), and I can tell you that I was easily browsing it, even though it has a capacitive screen.
I used a not very large excel file, just 220 lines and 3 Columns. As the screen is big it is easy to select the one that I wanted. If I had a problem, the pinch to zoom works wonders, letting you select accurately the one that you want.
It is not the perfect tool for excel, but then again, no smartphone is (at least for me).
I would suggest to go to a store, try it out, and see for yourself.
Good luck.
Thanks!
I have tried to find one in a store but no luck so far.
