Personal ROM optimization of HERO ROMs - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

First, I would like to say hello to all,
I am proud to be a part of a vast community of smartphone users(and abusers), who like to do more with these devices than just make calls.
I have been observing the number of ROMs in development for a while, and right now am using JACHeroski, I like the interface, multitouch, and especially the gallery, but very much prefer to use the default home other than the Rosie(TouchFlo?). Guess it reminds me too much of windows.
I have tried deleting Rosie.apk and Rosie.obex from the ROM and packing it. I have also followed the tutorial on how to create a script in Ubuntu to sign updates, but the update-signed that is generated is only 50mb compared to the 81mb of original ROM. I have attempted to update, but got an error with corrupt update.
My question is, is there something I am doing wrong? Is TouchFlo a part of Rosie? and what would be the best way to optimize this ROM so it does not come with TouchFlo but only the lovely, 3 screen home.
Thanks in advance,

So just shutdown TouchFlo.
settings-->applications-->manage-->touchflo-->clear defaults
Clinton

Thanks for the quick reply.
No defaults set, but TouchFlo still runs in the background from startup.

Stop it with Taskiller.

I disagree..plenty of things still to be accomplished...adding bluetooth dun back into the rom for instance...none of the "new" rom's have that built in although the new XM6R3 will when it's released shortly. Including .net service pack 2 instead of .net since the default .net in wm6 breaks several programs. Coming setup to play youtube, google video etc out of the box..(the full versions..not the mobile one's), using flashvideobundle.cab....The new arcosft software which splits sms and mms back out etc.
There are still things to be done to enhance value to the user beyond just throwing your name on a rom...I'm writing mortscripts to help the user config certain things AFTER the rom is installed...for example running a time sync program at startup instead of having activesync running all the time to keep synced with provider..thus saving battery..all of these add value.

rom still has htc home, soft key applet and other stuff that comes in HTC rom.
A clean rom should not have any extra junk like htc home only essential apps. I hope someone will do a real clean rom, this rom still has adobe, audio maanger, bluetooth explorer and java, world card mobile and streaming media and zip. Not very clean

Isnt this the first cooked rom? Maybe we could be a bit less picky and a bit more constructive hmmmm? He does great work on the 8525 or tytn and currently Im using that on my 8525, by far the fastest I have seen. My advice is take what you can get if you dont know how to do it yourself or at least not discourage his work.
well said, austinsync exemplifies the very meaning of contributing member.

Great news guys !!
Seems cooking finally arrive to Kaiser.... Thanks, mate...

Actually it's the second, but still, I don't think it's that mcq3000 doesn't appreciate austinsync's effort. We're all grateful to have the cooks fixing Microsoft's mess. But he does have a point. As far as clean ROMs go, this just isn't one of them. It's not that it's bad, but he just shouldn't be calling it a CLEAN ROM, that's all.
Nice job austinsnyc. A lot of people will enjoy a good streamlined ROM.
Here's my opinion on the "clean ROM" issue a couple people are having. I personally think this is a "clean ROM". I don't believe austinsnyc's intention with this was to create a stripped down base ROM to be used for cooking. I think he put together a nice ROM with all the extra junk taken out that took up space and degraded performance. The items that were left in (and mentioned in the original protest) allow for the same familiar look and feel and to make it possible to use this ROM on a daily basis without the need to install a ton of apps to make it useable.
But, that's just my opinion.
GOOD job ausitnsync!
Please, can you remove the HTC HOME plugin too or make an another version like this but without the HOME plugin.
Taken out Windows Live is without taken Windows Live Messenger out, isn't it? Good job!!!
Smartdialing is handy to call somebody quick, please hold that.
Voicedialing function is also handy, I use it in the car. -> question: you wrote you removed the icon but it's still in Settings.
I haven't the Kaiser yet, but in my Prophet it's in Settings. Is in the Kaiser in Programs an icon too?
I like this cooking
Thanks Austin. I prefer this version of cooking. I think I will keep this. Very responsive..... scrollwheel and button press etc. Thanks for your effort
This looks to be just what I'm after.
However as a newbie, what do I need to do to install this on my Kaiser.
Yes I know there's a load of stickies at the top of this forum, but I'm somewhat lost on which one I actually need.
Thanks.

There are only 4 stickies at the moment, not too much reading, but you really shouldnt try ROM flashing until you have read and understood them all. The Hermes Wiki has more information regarding upgrading/flashing.
@mcq3000 if you think you can do better, feel free to post your own Lite ROM.
@austinsnyc Congratulaions and thanks for your work, How much memory is free after a reboot?
Thanks Wizzard.
I done many an update on my old Mio A701, but not a Kaiser. That's appeared simple compared with the various thread regarding upgrading the Kaiser (and other HTC based products).
Guess what I mean is, the above ROM is still in essence(spelling) a standard one with stuff removed. Do I still need to treat it as a full blown ROM update. I don't want to download various programs to update the ROM unless I need to?
Thanks
Kevin
Thanks austinsnyc !
Thanks for a nice and fast ROM, your timing is perfect I only got my wizard last tuesday I'm looking forward to new builds and releases
Thanks to all involved in the cooking for getting this to work so fast
To end the debate on this I can call it anything I like since I am the one that made it this was a test to see if we can start cooking rom's with the new tools that where made and I was kind enough to share it with the rest of you.... some of you might know that I don't take requests to take this out or that out. I build roms so that I can use them on a daily basis with out having to install tons of apps, all you have to do is set up your personal settings on your good to go. all this rom is showing is that we are well on are way to rom cooking and that where are headed down the right path.

Please can you write a manual how you did this so people can do that at their own.
For example what I do right now at my Qtek S200:
Once I copied al .cab files to a SD Card and keep these cabs on my PC.
When I do a hardreset, at the moment the device want to install the Extended Rom I do a soft reset. Then I've a standard/clear WM system and then I install the Qtek cabs those I want.
Something like this is what I want to do too with the TyTN II. At first the HTC HOME plugin, it's too big, not handy and take too much resources.
Thank you in forward!

there is no EXT_Rom in the kaiser it is simply following a config file to install cabs to the windows directory. the tools to cook roms will be released as soon as they are finished they are almost done untill then no I can not release them as I did not make them I simply test for someone

Nice work, but isn't the SIM Manager kind of a pretty important app?

Need info to make my own Custom ROMs for X7510

Hi people,
I come from the other side of the fence "Palm"
I just upgraded to the X7510, sweet piece of hardware and beautiful 5" display
So i'm very familiar in the Palm Treo world on customizing my own ROMs.
After reading & searching A LOT in here and other PPC forums, i still have a few utilities i can't seem to find.
So i read there is also a BootLoader screen in the PPC world, very typical of the HTC devices, makes custom ROMing very simple.
However, i still haven't come across the name of the applications you guys use to Dump (backup) the current ROM, and the Upload the new ROM into the device.
Or it seems like the only way is via ActiveSync 4.5 ?
Another doubt i have is about the Unlocked part.
My device is straight from HTC unlocked, does it mean it is fully SIM and CID unlocked, or it's only SIM unlocked?
By that i want to figure out if i need to run the CID unlock before doing the Custom ROMs etc.
And last but not least...
I'd like to contribute with the 7510 ROM original dump, seems like the Wiki doesn't have it yet,
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Athena_Upgrades
so i'll probably need the same whatever tool you guys use, as asked in my first question, to backup the old ROM.
which will also help us fill the empty space in the Wiki left for the very same question
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Athena
"How to dump the ROM"
Thanks
Cheers!
well... since i got no response from anybody
Thanks to myself
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408519
found the tool i was looking for to build my own rom.
and to top it off i finally found the ROM backup topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334680
now beats me on the mobile 6 subsection, and something that is totally on another area for another phone... oh well...
Good on you allgamer for taking a lead here. Some of us have been pushing for a separate 7510 forum under the Athena section. Without that we 7510 owners are continuously looking for "needles in haystacks".
cktlcmd and eaglesteve have been burning the 7510 candle for us. With your input we'll get this device on the map yet.
Hey i also just got a x7510, and id love see a x7510 rom!
hell yeah, you can say that again.... it was so hard to find anything, some times stuff like this the Search engine did not pick it up
like the rom dump, on another phone, i understand it is all PPC, but still it might have been different for some models
at least that was true in the Palm world, so i guess in the PPC world we'll have it easy, since it looks like all models dump appears to be the same.
as for the utility, never would have guessed it would have been found mentioned within a thread about something completely different.
anyways, now that i know, i'll be writing more about it, once i start working on it.

well, i don't mind sharing my custom ROMs, once i start cooking them.
but don't expect too much since, what i usually like to do is simply clean up all the junk that i don't need
then replace them with Freebies, or registered software, which if that is the case, i wont be able to share it here.
x7510 owners - forward march!
Something several of us are keen to see is a work around to make RealVGA work with Spb Mobile Shell. AllGamer, you mentioned in a post under "SPB Mobile Shell incompatible with Real VGA 96 dpi on the X7510" that you got a solution posted elsewhere working. Can you share with us how you did that?
Also, my devise is definately not running as smooth and quick as I would like it (or expect it to given its processor). As a prelude to getting some cooking going (and I'm not a chef) could we start to identify some tweaks that will make the stock ROM more efficient? For example I always ramp up the siz of cache etc. via MemMaid but to be honest I'm never sure whether it does any good or not.
Hi robjhellis,
Are you saying the performance in x7510 is not as smooth as it should be ? Can you please tell during what operations ie. Video etc it becomes sluggish. That would be a good place to start with.
Thanks,
Srini
Just guess, but i think that is the so much talked about behaviour of the video drivers issue on all HTC products
Videos are great no lag (well when i play them in coreplayer full screen, with specs up full). Only one "problem" lol...the audio is exactly -0.512milli seconds behind (when you hear it). So stupid tried all kinds of videos same result lol so thankfully coreplayer has an option were you just put "-0.512" in and ill kinda sync up the audio.. windows media player is pretty much pointless to play video now since you can't put -512 anywhere and the audio lags big time.
the audio in general is really bad, put on real expensive headphones and you can hear ssshhhhh hissss - the background noise.
Note: i was so shocked/surprised that i did a hard reset thinking maybe its something that i might of installed, but nope problem still there

Hi Guys, my issue isn't playing video - I haven't got to that stage yet on my 7510. Rather its just slow moving around menus, reloading after a soft reset, opening programs etc. I can sometimes count up to 3 and even 5 after selecting a tab before the tab appears e.g. Settings-System. I've also now started to see the start icon in the top left corner not redraw after a soft reset. There is much more lag than I see on my TyTN which, of course, is running a custom ROM

I will suggest to check in the ATHENA WM6 section the thread how to speed sogarth base rom....
Basically install netCF3.5 , FDCsoft Taskmanager 3.1 and start changing how/stopping started services and applications (There are many lauchxx keys in the registry to change to avoid self application startup)

By any chance, do you know how to exlude Biotouch from starting list? It is not started from startup links, or at least not directly. I was browsing the regs also, but could not find anything. I use FTouchSL and UL for cube effect on Today screan, so Biotuch seems to be useless.
Also, do you now what a wt5portm or something like that is for ?

I've found the same lag on audio and it is SO annoying! Nothing seems to fix it!!
I've created a quick "how-to" on dumping the x7510 ROM, which may be found here: http://htcathena.freeforums.org/dumping-your-x7510-s-rom-t6.html#p7
I will follow up with a "how-to" on re-constructing the ROM (unless somebody else feels inclined to do so instead). [Edit - found this how-to] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337066
However, we still need HardSPL or similar. CMONEX told me she and Olipro are working on an unlocker with that functionality, so we'll need to wait a tad! Once we have that we can start cooking some ROM's.

Should I stay or should I go? (6.1 to 6.5)

I have a Sprint TP2 running Winmobile 6.1 and I am considering applying the upgrade to 6.5. I am a fairly new Winmobile user having spent a few years with Palm OS devices having left Winmobile for that. I find Winmobile to be much improved this time around. My TP2 is now running very smoothly since I disabled Push Internet (cab found here...Thank you very much!) Before that I had many freezes and had to hard reset about once a week and apply my backup. (Resco Backup) I also have applied a few other very useful registry hacks that I found here as well that have added to the functionality of my TP2.
I have many 3rd party apps that I love. To name a few of my favorites;
Tom Codon's WiFi Router-So awesome!!!!!!
SK Tools-Indespensible to me for keeping my TP2 running smoothly
Elecont Weather for the Today screen
Elecont Launcher for the Today screen
pmClean
Skype
Skyfire
Qik
I don't use TF3D as I prefer to have the info that I wish to see at a glance on my screen so I use the traditional Today screen and with Elecont Launcher I am able to launch the apps that I use most frequently right from my Today screen. Plus, it's a bit of a memory hog and I prefer my phone to be snappy. I suffer from memory OCD-always looking to see how much memory I am using! Currently I run around 34%-40%.
My questions are;
1) If I upgrade to 6.5 will I still be able to have the traditional Today screen like I have with 6.1?
2) Will I gain an appreciable amount of other benefits to make it worth the work of installing the new rom, reinstalling all of my apps, and setting up all of the other settings the way I like them? (and if so, what are they?)
3) Are there any apps that I listed that you know won't function on 6.5?
Lastly, I just really wish to thank you all for your work! I really love this forum!
Thanks in advance for your input!
Geo
I would love to know too. I use SPB Mobile Shell 3.5, so the upgrade to Sense 2.5 if of no use to me.
Will 6.5 offer any stability or speed improvements?
Thanks!
Do it!
Just make the "tweaks" you need.
I think one of the only benefits you will gain in 6.5 is some of the features are more touch friendly. Everything you mentioned should work fine in the upgrade also. If you want to improve the touch friendliness you could also install some themes which skin winmo (so you don't have to hard reset, re-install, etc).
If you do decide to go w/ 6.5, customization won't be too difficult if you use programs like resco and XDA UC Customize. IN my experience, the stock 6.1 ROM is about the most stable available once all tweaks are applied.
I upgraded from Verizon 6.1 to Verizon 6.5.
I have regreted it and when I'm in the mood for a hard reset, I will go likely back to 6.1.
I've had a lot of incompatabilities. I prefer using the Today screen, but a number of my prefered apps fail or cause lockup issues that I never had before. So generally, I am stuck with using the Sensui 2.1 interface, which is very limiting IMHO.
Can't say if the Sprint version is as poor.

in my experience the vzw 6.5 is no good. Try one of the custom 6.5 you will probably have a much better experience.
Wow! Thanks for all of the input!
Well...with much fear and trepidation, I went. I found that I could still use the traditional Today screen and all of the apps that I was using on 6.1. Heck, I was even able to use Elecont Launcher even though it isn't supported for 6.5. Funny thing on the way to all of that though...after playing with the HTC Sense UI I found that I can customize it more than I could TF3D and I'm pretty happy with it over using the traditional Today screen. I will use it until I get bored, then I'll try a custom rom. (Hehe...3 mos?) I need to learn more about those before I take that leap though!
Thank you all so much for weighing in!

Welcome to WinMo 6.5 and Sense. Here are some nice links:
Mods for Sense UI **make sure you download the correct version of Sense Mods, check your version in device info**
Themes and Apps sorted by most viewed (popular)
Also, you might wanna check out SPB Mobile Shell, its a great software that allows you to customize up to 5 screens with widgets, programs and system settings icon. SPB Mobile Shell
Very nice! I can't wait until I can check the Sense mods out! Thank you! I tried SBP Mobile Shell when I had 6.1 and didn't love it. It's a nice program...it just didn't do it for me. Maybe I'll have another look at it though now that I have a little more experience with Winmobile and have switched to 6.5.
For the record...I am not finding a good enough reason to have not made the switch to 6.5 from 6.1 on the Sprint TP2. Still a little buggy here and there but who's to say I didn't do that to myself with some free app that I installed. Hey, that's why I have a backup, right? In fact, I think that if you have any Winmobile and don't have a backup program with a new back up every few days, you might be being foolish. Ultimately, you should make notes attached to each backup to remind yourself at what point your were at in terms of apps and tweaks. Unless of course you are one of these developers and are really smart and can easily get yourself out of a jam without spending hours and hours online searching for solutions and reloading and resetting up you phone...ugh! Anyway...Sprint's 6.5 is prettier and not really worse than 6.1 IMHO. I'd do it again.
A couple of things thing that I am curious about though...After installing 6.5, all of my programs, and getting the settings dialed in, I ran a back up with Resco Backup's latest version. I got dialogue box stating that I had 22 errors (all looked like registry entries) all relating to Twitter. When I performed an "Integrity Check" of the backup, it stated that there are no errors. They don't show up in "Invalid Registry Entries" in SK Tools either. Now I don't care if Titter works or not. I don't use it. It's just strange.
Also, I installed the NoPushInternet and SSK TP2 Dynamic Resource Proxy cabs expecting a performance change like I saw with NoPushInternet alone with 6.1. After installing NoPush with 6.1 I was at 32% with TF3D disabled following a reset. After some heavy use I would see it bloat to around 48%. The numbers were roughly 10% more respectively with TF3D enabled. With 6.5 I am at 41% coming of a reset with Sense disabled and 50% with it enabled. However, I noticed this morning it bloated up to 86%! I can't remember what I went to do and got a dialogue box stating that I didn't have enough memory to perform the task so I looked to see how much Ram I was using. I wonder if some possible culprits are;
The 5 different cities that I get weather data for all needing to sync @ 15 min intervals?
Location services all together?
Being signed in to Facebook by default?
Animated wallpaper?
All of the above?
I find that simply sliding along the icons and pausing at each in Sense makes the memory usage spike to 58% and settle back at 54%. Navigating to and from Settings, going back an forth to email, taking a few calls, and I am up in the mid 60%'s. Maybe this is to be expected and these numbers are considered good...or maybe I just need a more efficient rom. I guess that in keeping with Microsoft's long standing tradition (pre-Win7), the newer OS is heftier than the last! I just hope this thing can keep up with me! Maybe just some Sense mods will do the trick. If I were to install a new rom, can anyone suggest a high quality one that is a good fit for a Sprint user? I don't want to risk loosing any of my Sprint stuff. Sprint TV, Sprint acct info, etc. I am not sure how all of this works with cooked roms and specific carriers. Sorry to be such a noob. I have also considered overclocking the processor. Not sure how risky that is but I do have Sprint's damage replacement coverage. I haven't found instructions for that yet specific to the Sprint TP2 but I do want to play around with that and see what happens. I realize I have asked a lot of questions here. If anyone can take a stab at all or part I will appreciate it. I notice that some (or all?) developers will take a donation (or tip) for help. I am willing to do so in exchange for good help in getting my Sprint TP2 smokin' fast, (more) app filled, and reliable. I may be suffering from a sickness...I can't seem to leave well enough alone! The amount of donation being relative to the amount of help, of course. I did just make my 20 Euro donation to the main effort. I am glad that I did...I certainly have benefited from visiting this forum more than any other forum.
Also, if I am supposed to post a new thread (or threads!) since I have veered off track here, please let me know. I will cut/paste it in a new one(s). I want to behave myself accordingly.

I have many 3rd party apps that I love. To name a few of my favorites;
My questions are;
1) If I upgrade to 6.5 will I still be able to have the traditional Today screen like I have with 6.1?
2) Will I gain an appreciable amount of other benefits to make it worth the work of installing the new rom, reinstalling all of my apps, and setting up all of the other settings the way I like them? (and if so, what are they?)
3) Are there any apps that I listed that you know won't function on 6.5?
Lastly, I just really wish to thank you all for your work! I really love this forum!
Thanks in advance for your input!

I did the 6.5 update to my Sprint Touch Pro 2 and installed the Tom Codon's WiFi Router and it works perfect. I can't speak to the other aps you are using.
Yea I don't like the stock SPB Mobile, I use espresso mod. You can find most of theSPB Mods here.
I noticed a similar "buggy" experience when switching over to vzw's 6.5 ROM. It worked, but it never seemed as smooth as 6.1. Sprint Auto-Clean/Tweak is a CAB that does just about every tweak to improve performance. Maybe this will help with your RAM %s, but they seem very similar to what I experience (Sense UI ~ 50% idle, 60% after a day of usage, specs below in sig). I'm not really sure what is causing your memory spike, maybe try some of these tweaks and see if it still happens.
Backups are important, but more important is making sure you downloaded something that is compatible with your hardware/software and that you read the thread/readme before installing it. If you do those there should be no need for a backup.
As for a custom ROM, I am not aware of any that include those sprint apps. Check out http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=98 for some custom ROMs.
About the overclocking, I believe our processor is an overclocked tp processor, so i'm not sure how much more we can get out of it.
Personally i'd say you are capable enough of doing this all yourself, so be confident and take the necessary steps of reading beforehand.
Thank you burtonsnow8. I appreciate your answers and your confidence in me. I'll continue to mine the forums!

Need someone to recommend me a ROM

I have been searching for recommendations on custom roms and since I am new I do not know if they are up to date.
I have heard of manial 2.5 and 2.1; but do not know what they are.
Also I heard there are custom roms of 6.1 and 6.5 but what is the difference?
To install a 6.5 rom do you need the 6.5 stock rom or can you do it from 6.1 stock rom?
I want performance, stability, speed, web browsing, and landscape slide out usable along with so it will work if I turn the phone and all sensors usable.
I am wishing to getting a head start since I am getting my Sprint CDMA TP2 in a few days. Any TP2 users here that think this phone is good and had it for a while?
NRG (aka EnergyRom) is probably the most popular ROM, i've been using it in various iterations since 12/09. It works well though Sprint picture mail can be problematic at times and I've been unable to disable HTC's texting/sms app (It can be ridiculously slow when you have a long conversation). 6.5 is a little more touch friendly than 6.1 but it's not a huge change. I use NRG's rom with sensity and CHT v2.0(cookie home tab which increases home screen flexibility). XDAndroid is also very nice (I'll switch permanently once they get the headphones working)
I have used nrg rom and have currently been using the superrom.
It's bare-bones and very fast. I had to add some of the .cab's that
i wanted but they are really easy to find. Phone has only frozen
on me like once and i have a large amount of text messages stored
on the phone.

I have tried about 15 already and have just decided 'Mighty Rom' will be sticking around. Very fast and stable it seems.

I hope it doesn't have the same flaws as energy rom. I think I will stick with the stock Rom first. Can you list me any internet, text, calling, landscape mode, sensors, physical keyboard etc. any other possible flaws it may have? Is it wm 6.1 or 6.5 layout?
Can you link me to the most up to date mighty rom thread and original maker?
The HTC messaging problem and sprint picture mail problems aren't ROM specific. HTC messaging can take 20+ seconds to load when you've got a ton of messages(it doesn't affect the web browser or email), you can bypass this by clicking all messages before replying to a new text (this opens the default text client rather than the HTC one). There are fixes that are supposed to bypass HTC messaging entirely but they don't seem to work.
The sprint picture mail problem is due to sprint picture mail not really sending pictures but instead links to pictures (you have to install arcsoft messaging and some other files to make it work). Sharky's rom may not have this problem (since it was developed specifically for sprint) but pretty much any other custom rom will.
Sounds like you already got your answer! Try my ROM Check my sig. for my PPC Geeks thread. Seeing as how that site is more geared to CDMA, that's where all my ROM action is.
Are there any other roms that are made for Sprint winmo 6.5?
How much memory RAM does your rom have on boot up sharky?
I just today noticed on stock I am unable to send/ receive text messages but can call and browse the internet. Problem happened after a few installs like flash lite, nfs shift, resco explorer, and maybe sktools cleanup has ran and broke it. So I plan on moving on to a custom rom.
Do any custom roms change radio? Because I HOPE NOT. I don't want an SAR change lol. SAR level change will be bad.
in refferance to sktools clean up.......you have to be carefull what you delete esspecially in the invalid registory entries and values mode......i usualy leave that alone unless i no for sure what i am deleting wont affect the phone.....and also just go to your file explorer/mydocuments/regsrybkp and restore what was deleted....
I couldn't find registry backup anywhere.
got your reply my friend..get back to you in a few hours...
ok...i am no expert...ther are a lot of smart guys in this forum when it comes to ppc's...thumbs up to them...what i no about this is experience because i have deleted 100 things before i learned...i no that if you use the registry cleaner in sktools it will tell you that things are invalid and so on....when they are actually valid....why, i dont no...but first check to see if back up deleted entries is selected to yes.....in your sktools program under tools menu go to settings...then scroll to invalid registry entries and at the bottom of that list you will find that option...the same for invalid registry values...if they both are yes then everything you deleted should be in your files program under 'registrybkp'....mine is under 'mydocuments'/'registrybkp'.....and if the deleted entries are there just tap on each one and they should automatically restore...and last, if for some reason you dont have any backups then a hard reset would be my advice to you.....i hope that helped .....good luck and just keep going by trial and error!
MR.X ROM! is super fast but you cant send picture mails

I'm not allowed yet to post outside links, so you'll have to search Howard forums for this:
Touch-Pro2-Tips-Tricks-amp-Registery-Modifications
I have maybe a dumb question. What does a cooked ROM give me, more functionality and features or just cosmetic modifications?
Thanks
All of the above. More stability as well. Phone rarely freezes to the point where it needs a hard reset and also no screen of deaths.

Is there any way I could get manual or at least a list of features for each ROM?
It's either on the rom forum page or you check the rom out yourself. Usually the original poster in the first post will list a list of features and give pictures for their rom. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and don't forget to thank me if I helped.
