S2U2 works fine here and I enjoy this iphone style.
plus it drains your battery in 12 hours... great locking piece of software but clearly not optimized. Running in background all the time, draining the battery like crazy.

I have it cooked into my own ROM (WM6.1, 21051), and over the past 18 hours, power has dropped from full to 75%, with a scattering of use for games and calls.
a hell of a battery drainer....reduced it to 50% in around 10 hrs. with minimum usage..
No way man to drain your battery.
I use it and I have at least 24h stand by 2h of use, 30-45min speak, push mail, also a 1h IMAP account, also weather to 1h update. A lot of alarms, tasks...
And after 24h still have 20%

Your battery drainage, is most likely your 3G or HSDPA connection (that's eating power for sure). S2U2 does not eat that much power.
I have the feeling it uses up lots of power as well. Went from 100 to 0 in a day with minor usage. Will uninstall it and find another one...this sucks
??
Dont work with tom codon WM6.5 rom. It freeze when there's incoming call. Anybody using tom's rom can confirm it?

Misconfiguration drains battery .
Using S2U2 all the time.
My current stats:
- standby time: 39 hours
- talk time: 5 minutes
- device usage: 1 hour 30 minutes
Battery: 71%

S2U2 weather updates
Hi,
Does anybody know how to configure S2U2 on TD2 with Touch Sense to update the weather status on the lock screen? In settings I used TF3D variant but seems it is not in sync with weather tab.
Here is part of A_C faq conserning power drain :
Q. S2U2 consumes a lot of power?!
A. Make sure there is no music player application running in the background.
A. Use digital clock without showing the second.
A. Don't use GIF wallpapers.
A. Don't use a folder of wallpapers.
A. Turn off "Show Appointment".
A. Turn off "Show Weather".
A. Turn off "Full-screen Battery on top of wallpaper".
A. Turn off "Don't Suspend Power".
A. Turn on "Don't use Keyboard Hook".
A. Turn on "Ignore screen orientation".
A. If any "auto-rotation" application is installed, add "S2U2" to it's exception list.
A. Disconnect the data connection.
A. Update to v2.14 or later.

Bad Problem with the Battery
i have the TP and the bettery have a big problem it's ended in about 5 hours with no use.
how can i fix it?
is there any program to increase the use or tweak the settings?
from 5 hours no
change the battery
You have either some app running which consumes a huge amount of power (really huge! Even if you use TP as video player with the screen configured to full brightness TPs battery lasts for at least four to five hours). Or your device has got a faulty battery (which would probably be more likely).
Are you by any chance using Wayfinder Navigator gps-software? I found (the hard way) that this software doesn't close the GPS-unit in the phone automatically when you exit the application. Even after a soft-reset the problem persists. This will drain the battery in pretty much 5 hours. The solution is to manually close the GPS-connection in the WF Navigator program settings every time you exit the app (and hope for a fix ASAP). I've already reported this to Wayfinder, and they're working on it.

what aBE-One is saying is that on his phone he had a similar problem, the software was closed but the GPS command remained active thus draining his battery, so your IGO8 might be shut down as software but there is a chance that the GPS hardware is still running in the background for no reason. go into your com manager and turn off GPS and that should resolve the issue

Exactly the same happened to me, after a full charge it took only 5 hours to an almost complete discharge.
I bought TP 1 week ago and it came with radio 1.02.25.17 with no battery issues at all but with the GPS issue -not finding sats-. After upgrading to 1.02.25.28 radio ROM, the GPS now works ok with TomTom, GPS test etc, but the battery now drains dramatically even in standby with no software running and all radios off except phone.
Is possible that the GPS radio stays on even after closing GPS software? In that case, is there any way to manually switch off the GPS module?. In TTN there's no a button to do this.
Mine too..
But i've observed this drain even before upgrating to radio 1.02.25.28
In 40 minutes from 78% to 69% (9%), in stand-by mode (short press power) without any running application!
And I've done 3 or 4 full discharge-full recharge cicles...
LE: No active moderator here? There are plenty of battery problem topics.. why not merge them? It's hard to chose in which one to post... Also, that's not the only case. See GPS related bugs, opera, etc. Too many duplicate topics.
Ok, more info:
I've drained the battery completely till the device turned off then I've left the phone on charging overnight (device turned off).
After about 9-10 hours I've unpluged and turned on the device. Used for 1 hour and 25 minutes in total (about 1 hour for browsing - not downloading, so data transfer was not continously - and the rest for music). With "Auto adjust backlight". The battery level gone from 100% down to 68%, so 32% battery drain in less than a hour and a half!!!
Now, after 4 minutes (device was in standby - eg: short power button press), I wanted to check something and the battery metter was on 66%... so 2% in standy/idle mode in just 4 minutes?!
@l1234 any updates?

That all sounds correct. I can be typing emails/sms with WiFi and phone on (not actually doing anything), drains about 1% per minute.
I read the other day that the percentage indicator is faulty. Some people have reported the battery draining down to 10% in a very short time, but then the meter will stay at 10% for hours before going down to 9%, etc. Has anyone else noticed this? If not, look for it and see if it happens to you. Also, open the power meter in the settings options and verify that it shows the same battery level. I've had that happen to me already where it would say 50% in the title bar but the power options still show 3/4 of the meter!

I have noticed that the battery percentage indicator does this. All in all, my device has better battery life after flashing a custom ROM, keeping screen brightness under half and leaving off bluetooth or wifi if possible. my battery will stay at 100% for hours, but if i soft reset, it drops 10%. other times it will drop right away but stay there. It really does stay at 10% or so though for ages before it drops further.

I was brosing via 3G/HSPDA connection. No WiFi/BT on.
Now, it seems that the drain in standby time is OK (haven't done something special, same processes opened.. maybe just now the battery can be used at its full performance, after some charges/discharges) - BUT when using the device the battery drains quite quickly..
I give you an example.
Battery was 100%. Browsing the internet with IE & Opera for 1 hour. Battery meter was on 75%. So 25% in one hour... tooo much... The display backlight is set to "Auto adjust".
Again, I'm not using Wifi/BT, push e-mail, etc. Just normal browsing (without downloads) with a 3G/HSPDA connection.
I've had my Fuze about a week and I've been testing out many of the available ROMs. I've noticed disturbing trend and want to know if anyone else is seeing this problem, and if so, how can we fix it? It seems like anytime I install a Raphael based ROM, I start to lose battery power at a fast rate - about 10%/hour, maybe even faster. With a cooked ROM based off the ATT Fuze code base, I do not have this problem. I get this even when I install the keyboard fix, etc. and I am doing a hard reset after install to no avail. Any help, input, thoughts or shared experiences welcome.
Andrew
I am using PROven's latest 1.4 rom and the battery is amazing!!! I loaded it last night, charged it up around 9pm and at 5pm today I am still at 70%!!!
I've noticed this as well. I first go suspicious when after a long flight in airplane mode the battery drained significantly.
No I am in all day meetings this week so I am trying several combination to see what sucks juice and what does not by keeping the radio out of the equation.
So far it seems that RomeOS is a battery suck while NATF is not. This is with the device doing nothing but sitting there with no radio activity.
I've notice that the stock .32 radio on the fuze is the culprit (at least on MY fuze). After I downgraded to the .28 radio the battery life has easily doubled!
@NRGZ28
Which .28 radio do you mean?
1.02.25.28 - Extract Official Shipped Orange ROM ESN 1.90.75.3??
I'm using ROMeOS with 1.02.25.28 radio and I have pretty good battery life on the Fuze. I've also used some other ROMs here and no issues either in regards to battery. Is your data connection on constantly or is it configured to disconnect after X # of mins?
Anyone , Who can give me tips how to saving battery in my TD2 . Every Night my phone always charging , What i must to do ? . Yeah , Every day i play the udK rom ( Wheater demo , Photos & Videos tab 3d Animation ) so the battery fast to empty . who can give tips ?
Turn off bluetooth, lower screen brightness, and if you must have wireless data on, make sure it is edge, not 3g or HSDPA
Hey!
How to make sure it's edge only?
Thanks!

I have checked that these advanced settings on battery power are very important:
- switch off back light if the device is not in use for 30 sec
- deactivate the device if not used by 1 min.
Hey guys,
I installed an app for disabling the internet connectivity. The app is called Dial-up Enabler Disabler. I installed through Open Market. Try it, works like a charm.
Fastest way to disable 3G/H is to go to the Phone settings and switch it to GSM.

It is stock but won't work all the time. Sometimes 3G turn on by it self. I use NoData, that's a simple app that does the trick.
@Ts
Some tips.
Install TD2 Tools from Gaz. It can save you CPU (so some battery usage). After changing the cache settings my CPU runs after start-up on 45% (formally 58%). After extreme usage, e-mail, internet/surfing, gaming, movies. It is like 65-67% (formally to 70-80%)
Install cleanRAM to close all of your applications you think are closed.
thanks Ciedric!
I installed the DialUp Enabler Disabler tool, disabled all the connections. Set the backlight time out to 30 secs., Disable bluetooth and WiFi when not using it. This allows me to use my phone for 1.5 days.
When travelling, I change the wallpaper to plain white background, lower down the volume to minimum and avoid using the phone when the coverage is poor (as phone uses more battery when coverage is bad), not using speakerphone and the battery lasts approximately 20-25% more than usual.
Also, although companies do claim that newer batteries are not affected by this, but I would suggest not to overcharge the battery, charge it during daytime when you can see that it is completely charged (avoid overnight charges), leave it for like 10 minutes extra and charge again when the battery is less than 12%, it works for me always. I have four cell phones, and 3 are more than 2 year old, still they give me more than 2 days of usage without charging.
You have to disable wi-fi, bluetooth and disable the automatic data connection for meteo and e-mail (no matter if you are under 2G or 3G network).
In this way my battery DOUBLE it's duration!

To allow switching between 3G and Edge you need to modify registry. With a registry editor, go to following registry key [HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting] and change "ShowUMTSBandPage" to 1, which will enable band selection page in phone settings. From there you will have to go to "Start - Settings - Personal - Phone". At the bottom you will now see a tab called "Band" in which you will have two drop downs. Under the first one you have the options of "Auto", "GSM", and "WCDMA". "GSM" is your EDGE only and "WCDMA" is your 3G. "Auto" allows for EDGE only when 3G mode is not available or drops temporarily.

one of the best is to set the brightness of the screen yourself, and uncheck "automatically adjust backlight setting".
I used the app 'Addin Timer' to scheduler the tasks, turn on the Airplane Mode in the night before sleeping, and turn off it in the morning. The battery cost 2% or 1% whole night. And this is good to our health/reduce the radiation, yes?
A good ROM may help you saving the battery, the official build used up the battery quickly by my experience
I just got my Nexus S on April 12th, don't have many applications installed. My battery only lasts about 10 to 12 hours and I haven't been able to figure out why. I've noticed other people have much longer battery life than this. I have 3G and mobile data disabled and use only WiFi and that too only when I'm home. From the "About > Battery use" place I discovered that Display uses around 50%. I had my brightness settings set to auto always. Today I fully charged it and after an hour or so it was on 83%! I didn't even touch it. It sucks to have an awesome phone and to not be able to use its features because of fast battery drain! please help.

Well 86% after 4 hours is a great battery life! 96-86=10% It gives you (4/0.1) a theoretical battery life of 40 hours !!!
On the battery manager click on the graph to see what causes your battery life to decrease very fast: GPS, Wifi, Awake or Screen on.
I also noticed the battery meter app used quite a bit of energy you should remove it, remove also the task killer it may drain you battery as well.
I'm trying out the suggestions in this thread right now. They seem reasonable. It might be useful for you.

Yes! Thats great battery life! You see, after I made my first post I read somewhere that you should drain the battery completely and then do a full charge. So I kept on playing with it until the phone shut down and then plugged it in before I went to bed. I made the second post after I woke up and didn't realize that at that time the battery life has increased. I havent charged since that post and been using it, the battery is now at exactly 30%. Been running for 17 hours and 45 minutes.
I guess my problem is solved
If you face problem with battery.. draining like hell..
then these tips are for you....
1. Battery Calibration
2. Control Apps
3. Device Setting
1. Battery Calibration
Don't use any application..
Just charge your battery till 100%.. (if stuck on 99% for long time.. no problem) just Restart your phone
without remove charger..Important
after restart (battery show 60 to 98%. leave it on charge again till 100% + 2 hrs. more
Then remove from charger & use phone until battery drain to 0% and switch-off itself
Don't recharge between 100 to 0%.. then try to restart at least 3 time.. to sure drain battery completely
now connect your phone to charger.. after 10 minutes start your phone.
but don't remove your charger till battery goes 100%...Important
(sometime it take more than 4-5 hrs. so better in night) When battery goes 100% ...now you done Calibration..
Technically..
on every restart Android reset Battery (by wipe battery status)
So.. on 100% Android make Maximum level - on 0% minimum level
P.S. Do this calibration on every ROM flash or at-least one time a month..
2. Control Apps
Some Application consume battery do much..
i.e. Facebook, Youtube, Maps, Whatsapp, Viber, Yahoo! Mail / Messenger, Skype, Hotmail.com, etc.
so when you don't use these apps (running in background) kill them from
setting > apps > RUNNING click on apps > Stop..
Better use Browser Bookmark instead applications
i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo Messenger, Outlook,
It help to save your RAM also..
3. Device Setting
lowest brightness..
lowest screen timeout
Close WiFi if no need
Close Data Conn. if no need.
Close Bluetooth if no need.
Close GPS if no need.
try to use dark backgrounds..
Try these tips then tell me how your battery work
Sorry for horrible & terrible English
wow

yep. it does.
i m doing these things before this post and normally i get 2-2.5 days backup of battery.
However ROM is also a factor. my previous rom used to give me 1-1.5 days(1.5 on very less usage.)
but my current rom is giving me atleast 2 days

it may help in increase in battery but i think its not good who bought A110 for gaming as this app will run in background and will result in lag of games+less RAM free
Thanks

Hi, I'm worried about my bad battery life. Any ideas what it causes or how to improve?
I'm on latest Carbon Rom (Android 4.4.2), Now activated, Hotword detection off.
Logs and Screenshots: see attachment
I don't get it. You have 1 day 9 hour usage and 1 hour 42 screen time. Your screen time is low but your usage is quite a while, better than mine. Could be bad signal, you have 1 bar in all the screenshots posted. Try turning off sync or mobile data when not in use.
It's a combination of poor signal and gps settings.
Switch location mode to Device only and get us an overnight BBS log.
System UI is unusually high. I can only assume this is customized UI elements draining the battery. Google services are 2nd on your list so locations and auto syncs, among other things.
When you're getting normal battery life Screen should be at the top. Anything draining more than Screen you need to look into.

Actually, he charged the phone (look at the first picture above the number 26 ) and as result, it was less than 1 day, 9h.

any ideas? someone?
Hi,
I see systemui is at the top of the list in all your screens. Are you using "pocket mode" or lockscreen notifications? I had the same issue on Mahdi rom and it went away when i disabled "pocket mode"
Are you running a custom kernel?
Some general battery saving tips are :
-Lower your brightness (i have mine set at 20%)
-Download "Wakelock Detector" and "Greenify" from playstore. These 2 apps will solve any wakelock problems.
-Turn Google Location Reporting and Location History off.
Sometimes a simple reboot does wonder for your phone.
Everybody has their own best combo of ROM + kernel so it will be up to you to find what works for you.
I'm currently running Mahdi's ROM + Elementalx and get 4 hours of screen time, 4 hours of music playback (from SD card) and 20+ hours of standby time

Hi, yes I'm using pocket mode. Too bad that it's drains this much battery! I love this feature
to me it looks as you having terrible wifi. and since you left the wifi on, your terrible signal drained the battery.

Try turning off the feature for a day and see if it improves your battery life any.
I'm also a big fan of the pocket mode feature and s2w/dt2w features because i hate reaching for the power button but it killed my battery.
What i can suggest to you is to try an app called Gravity Screen by one of our very own xda developer. Somehow, he managed to get the turn screen on/off via proximity sensor to barely drain any battery. I use this app combined with Dynamic Notifications and every time i take my phone out of my pocket, i get notifications like the Moto X and screen on without power button.
Best of luck!
flash back to stock & change tamper flag, and get an exchange. I found out that the earlier models have some with batt and radio problems

Confirmed. Pocket Mode killed my battery, too. Since I deactivated it, my battery life is acceptable.
