Hi everybody !
I had a question concerning S2U2 :
I wish that when I receive a sms, Slide to view would send me directly to the Messaging tab of TF3D instead of opening the message from the native WinMo interface.
Here's what I tried:
In HKCU\Software\A_C\S2U2\S2VEXE\
For "2" (sms), I tried the following values:
Manila://messaging.page
--switchtopage Manila://messaging.page
\Windows\manila.exe --switchtopage Manila://messaging.exe
AND OF COURSE, I get an error message, rubbing in my face that I do not fully understand the logic of the registry syntax..
Anyone have any idea?
Merci d'avance !
F.
hello! i am afraid i have the same issue.
the exact text that works when you edit the softkeys shortcuts in manila, does not work for S2U2 (nor icidentally for the manila 2.1 start menu)
this seems confusing! the type of registry value is the same in both instances ('REG_SZ')
i have followed the S2U2 instructions exactly (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=535582) and searched the S2U2 thred, but i'm afraid still can't find a solution
I figured it out! You need to set "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2\S2VEXE\2File" to "\Windows\manila.exe" and "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2\S2VEXE\2Parameters" to "--switchtopage messaging.page".
I used the information from here:
sushilange said:
you can open a tab with this:
\windows\manila.exe --switchtopage home.page
Instead of "home.page" you can use:
messaging.page
weather.page
people.page
email.page
album.page
music.page
internet.page
settings.page
programs.page

... and also from here:

Q. How to customize the application opened when "slide to view"?
A. They are under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2\S2VEXE, named 0File, 0Parameters, 1File, 1Parameters,... 8File, 8Parameters.
0 - missed call; 1 - voice mail; 2 - SMS; 3 - MMS; 4 - email;
5 - Flexmail; 6 - WL Messenger; 7 - reminder; 8 - active task.
e.g. when there is a missed call, open iContact's call history instead of the system call history,
edit 0File to \Program Files\iContact\iContact.exe;
and 0Parameters to -recents (the path may be different on different language device & where it's installed).

Hmmm, I tried this yet for some reason it still doesn't work... now slide 2 view doesn't like to anything when I get an sms, it just unlocks... I put "\Windows\manila.exe" into 2file and "switchtopage messaging.page" into 2parameters, was there some kind of punctuation or capitalization or something like that I missed, what else should I try?
Thanks

make sure you put in the two dashes for the parameters key. "--switchtopage messaging.page

Hi,
This is very undocumented but obtained by disassembling.
This shows your appointments text in the week view of the Calendar.
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Calendar]
"showtextinweekview:=dword:00000001
Works for Windows CE4+.
Have fun,
Tweakradje
Thanks man,
Best used in landscape on my magician.
M
Can we see the screenshot
Victor
sorry no screenshot available
Sorry can't do, my magician won't attach files to the board. The tweak is harmless, so invest 2 minutes & see for yourself. In QVGA long app. don't show all text, but it's better than nothing.

Tried this in HKLM etc on my Universal (the Calendar section doesn't appear in HKCU). Didn't work.
Not in the Calendar HKCU on Wizard. Didn't work.

Key described in first post is correct. How about creating the key yourself ;O)
Works here... event needs to be long enough to fit the text, though

how did you get it to work. I do not have calendar in HKCU?
Just add it
If you're using PHM Regedit:
1. Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft
2. In the bottom menu, choose Edit > New Key...
3. Set the name to "Calendar"
4. In the bottom menu, choose Edit > New DWORD Value
5. Set the name to "ShowTextInWeekView"
6. Set the value to 1
7. Click OK
If you're using TRE (Tascal Registry Editor):
1. Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft
2. In the bottom menu, choose New > Key
3. Set the name to "Calendar"
4. In the bottom menu, choose New Dword
5. Set the name to "ShowTextInWeekView"
6. Double-tap this new entry
6. Set the value to 1
7. Click OK
Thanks for the fast reply. I got it working just now. This is great.
Is there also a way to show whole day activities in the weekview?
Thanks for that ZeBoxx - that's really useful. Why don't the devices come with these options enabled ?
While looking at this I opened HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Calendar\ShowLunarCalendar and altered the DWORD Data value to 1.
After a soft reset go to Calendar, Menu, View and 'Lunar' appears in the drop down. Check it and when you scroll through with the left soft button, there's an extra screen with a month view and D02 - D30 followed by M01 in Feb M02 in March etc. I thought this might be Lunar Phases - but doesn't seem to be. Any ideas ?
They probably disabled it because, let's face it, there's not a whole lot you can read in it unless: 1. your words are short and 2. the event is long enough in duration to show it all
They should have made the week view have a horizontal layout - or at least give that as an option. Then showing the text wouldn't have been any issue whatsoever, and it would be more in line with 'Week' pocket agendas (you know, the paper kind) as well. I have no idea what MS were thinking with the vertical :>
As for the Lunar calendar view - it's a Lunar calendar view.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_calendar
I don't know enough about it to know whether it corresponds with any of the religious lunar calendars, though. You can derive the lunar phase from the Dxx number, though. D01 is roughly 'new moon', D14/D15 is roughly 'full moon'.
If you're using TotalCommander:
1. Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft
2. In the bottom menu, choose Edit > Mkdir...
3. Set the name to "Calendar"
4. Go to the new folder and choose "+Add value+"
5. Set the name to "ShowTextInWeekView"w"
6. Choose type "Dword"
7. Set the value to 1
8. Click OK
I think it very usefull with my Qtek9000 where i mostly see my calendar in landscape mode.
9000 of course is vga as well, and if it's running in true vga mode, should have 4 times the space to show the text
ZeBoxx
If you had the week view the other way you would still have an issue because the text wouldn't fit in the hour / half hour slots !
Anyway thanks for the info on Lunar Calendar. After a bit of research it appears D16 is Full Moon and D30 or M is new moon - maybe that's what the M prefix is for.
Cheers.
BTW I couldn't benefit from the true VGA mode - my eyes won't allow it !!!!
Sure, you're going to run into a limitation one way or another. However, text (in most languages) is left>right or right>left, and you should be able to get a better fit in a horizontal orientation. E.g. your half hour example, they don't necessarily have to be as narrow as they currently are in the vertical layout - you could make them wider, and it would easily fit more text. If you do the same in the vertical layout (make them taller), you're still running into having to chop words up to make words fit.
Either layout would work just fine if the implementation actually had boxes that overlap across days / hours respectively to fit the entire description/location, and only use a small strip to indicate the actual duration. This is actually easier in a vertical layout I'll try and whip up an example picture - attached. A problem that then occurs, of course, is with overlapping events - or events at a time that the new overlapping box would obscure. Never an easy solution
Is there a way to make this work with 2003 SE?
It works on my magician with 2K3 in QVGA, so i do miss a lot text. But it better than nothing.

I am putting together a theme for WAD2 in WVGA but have a need to call the following:
1. The SMS page when the SMS counter is pressed. All I can find is the Messaging.lnk
2. The email page when the email counter is pressed. Again, all I can find is the Messaging.lnk
3. Is there a tool which can be linked which directly calls the backlight just like the SPB Mobile Shell backlight?
4. The sounds page on TF3D 15-tab is very useful, is there a way of calling something similar from outside TF3D?
Thanks

Apologies. I will repost the thread elsewhere. Feel free to delete it.

It's alright man we moved it.. now you'll get whatever answers you need in here.
try this:
For inbox, try using:
tmail.exe -service "SMS"
It should open your inbox. At least it works for me.
To directly open the new sms window type:
tmail.exe -to "<number>" -body "hello" -service "SMS"
You can remove the parameters you don't need.
For email, replace "SMS" to "ActiveSync"
3. I have no idea what you just said
4. you can't really CALL something which isn't on TF3D... unfortunately. what exactly do you want to implement?

Thanks. All worked a treat. The backlight tool I was talking about is icon which calls up series of 5 boxes to control the backlight in the current power setting. This means rather than trying to use a slider, you can click one of 5 icons to get 20% gradation.
What I would like is an easy way of adjusting the sound profiles. I have found one within WAD but the box doesn't seem to scale to WVGA very well and this means some scrolling is required. What I am looking for is a nice easy finger friendly sound profile inut method.

i have an htc diamond 2 , only problem is on sms massages , text is too small and difficult to read, any ideas on how to make text letters on sms bigger???
thanks
Hi!
1) Slide touchflo to the settings tab (the last one)
2) Press the left soft button that should say something like all settings (or maybe "more", I don't have a WWE ROM so I really don't know what the button label is). This will bring up the regular windows mobile settings dialog.
3) Select the screen or display icon
4) In the screen dialog select the last tab at the bottom, I should say something like text size
5) Slide the text size slider to desired value
6) You may have to soft reset the device for the changes to be effective
Regards,
PK
Edited the thread title for a little more clarity.
Also, have you tried sliding your finger on the zoom bar? I know the original Diamond supports zooming SMS text with the capacitive area.

thank you very much for your advice, i have try all but unfortunately nothinkg works, on received sms text still too small, any ideas ? or any program that might fix this?
Thanks
Hi!
Could you please provide some more information regarding how you actually reads your messages. There are at least 3 different places to read a SMS
1) The touchflo SMS tab
2) The touchflo contact SMS tab
3) The regular windows mobile messages application
The suggested solutions mentioned so far only changes the font size in the regular windows mobile messages application (alternative 3). I think the font size in the touchflo interface is hard coded by HTC, and is not changeable without decompiling the touchflo script files and changes the values. This is not something you wants to do, I guess there are only a couple of people in this entire forum capable of performing that task.

PK

ok , nice question , now we getting somewhere , on regular windows sms i can read the text size which i have selected on my system - screen -text size, but needs for someone to play around with a couple of buttons to be able to see that text, also is not that user friendly , (for me at least).
now on the other two cases touchflo sms tabs and touchflo contact sms the text is very small. the last two cases i find it friendly and easy to use and navigate around your sms history with that person.
Thanks a lot.
Regarding SMS editing
DO you know how to solve the problem of the textbox size (to small, you can see only one or 2 lines) when editing an sms from the sms list view ? (e.g. when you want to reply on the same windows where you read the received sms).
Thanks
On WM6.1
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\RichEditHostFontFace
That's only the text box that you type in, not the window that displays the messages. If anyone know the messages one, let me know
In settings there is a setting where you change the text size. Make that bigger and SMS will be bigger..
Hi,
There is a WinMo setting to always request SMS receipts when using the WinMo interface to send SMS. When you are using the nicer Topaz SMS view one has to always manually re-select this. This is annoying. Is there some kind of Manila registry setting?
I think there is two seperate settings for this.
start messaging app (programs - all programs - Message app, i got swedish D2) then select menu then options. Select sms/mms and tick box for message recipt.
The other setting im not certain about, for the touchflo, but it should be somewhere.. Write back if this doesn't help.
ah, hang on a minute. I just tested this and I also need to manualy check the box for recipt. Annoying, bah.. Why have two individual settings for this?
HD tweak has no setting for this..
I'm also looking for this answer....

Yes, you can set up it in registry
[\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs]
Create a Dword key name “SMSDeliveryNotify” and set the value to 0x000001, if the key is already there, just change the value.
Save it to the registry and soft reset the device, and you are all done, now the “request message delivery notification” option is always ticked except when forwarding messages.
Or use Advanced Config

Tried to use it and it only changes the winmo default messaging app (this setting can allready be changed in options/settings for messaging), but still dont affect the manila SMS app.
You can try this yourself, press on favorite contacts - all people - select a person and then select the 2nd box on the left (sms icon) and type a message. Here you wont get a delivery notification unless you select menu - message option - request delivery notification.

Lokking for some new manila tweaks:
1.is it possible to change the shortcuts in Manila 2.5/2.5/Sense to 4 columns?
They're too big anyway and icons look bad this big...
2.there is no missed calls indicator in new manila, only in taskbar, is it possible to add bubble for missed calls in home tab icon like in new SMS or new EMAIL?
3.could not change date format, i edit 2c89bd29_manila but it does not shown correctly (shows IDS_??????)... how can i set date format to 31.12.2009?
10x.
Hi,
I tried to edit the file you wrote here (2c89bd29_manila) and it works correctly. I have edited the IDS_DATEFORMAT and have also found there the IDS_DATEFORMAT_SMALLVIEW value, which I have also edited and it also works...
Perhaps you have specified an incorrect formatting symbols and the parser doesn't understand it and therefore it displays that... Try d.MM.yyyy
I have manila version 2.5.19193431.0
SmArt
Any news on the missing missed call thingy ? Would be very cool if we could have this back in 2.5. I saw some german guys talking about replacing the text "agenda" (under the date / alarm buttons) by missed calls. Could make much of the german though. would be nice, who needs the "agenda" text anyway..
It has been discussed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=553307
In fact, you can show the call history and you can also change the softkey of M2.5 by using this tool.
