Lokking for some new manila tweaks:
1.is it possible to change the shortcuts in Manila 2.5/2.5/Sense to 4 columns?
They're too big anyway and icons look bad this big...
2.there is no missed calls indicator in new manila, only in taskbar, is it possible to add bubble for missed calls in home tab icon like in new SMS or new EMAIL?
3.could not change date format, i edit 2c89bd29_manila but it does not shown correctly (shows IDS_??????)... how can i set date format to 31.12.2009?

I tried to edit the file you wrote here (2c89bd29_manila) and it works correctly. I have edited the IDS_DATEFORMAT and have also found there the IDS_DATEFORMAT_SMALLVIEW value, which I have also edited and it also works...
Perhaps you have specified an incorrect formatting symbols and the parser doesn't understand it and therefore it displays that... Try d.MM.yyyy

Any news on the missing missed call thingy ? Would be very cool if we could have this back in 2.5. I saw some german guys talking about replacing the text "agenda" (under the date / alarm buttons) by missed calls. Could make much of the german though. would be nice, who needs the "agenda" text anyway..

In fact, you can show the call history and you can also change the softkey of M2.5 by using this tool.

To advanced for me Has anyone already compiled a file to change the left softkey to Comm Manager, or does anyone fancy doing it... )

i dont remember exactly but you can edit file inside my cab and change "dd.MM.yyy" to "dddd, d MMM"

I don't want the sms-functionality of TF3D active due to different reasons (prying eyes for example).
Is it possible to do: "create new sms" when i hold down the left soft-key?
Perhaps a ".exe" file for such a feature exists?
Other shortcuts perhaps?

Get a new bf/gf
- sorry for OT, I don't know of any shortcuts.
soundie, I used HDTweak to change the left soft-key option from 'Phone' to 'New SMS', so now I can start a new SMS with a single tap from the home screen.

Here's my solution:
Make a new .txt file and in it write:
44#\Windows\tmail.exe -service "SMS" -to ""
rename this file to New SMS.lnk (i.e. change the extension to .lnk)
Copy this link file to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Select the New SMS "application" to one of your buttons in Settings>Personal>Buttons.

Check out the start menu customisation link in my signature. Obviously you might not want to use those icons but hopefully it will help you identify how to change an icon.
By the way, I am just about to release a new icon set for start menu and ROM icons customisation so will notify you about that.

Thanx but your customization is too complex (i'm afraid of files named DLL) & its for folders...
i found solution, for program links & png icons need to set in registry
HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\PROGRAM NAME.lnk\Icon:\windows\ICON NAME.png

I tried the two files and they worked well here (Pure running Tess 4.1)
I had a few personel changes I would prefer
White(er) clock digits would be more visable on my dark background
And I sometime have a hard time finding the current icon (to slide it )
with the transparent slider, I mainly changed it to get the 5 icons
Either of these "user" adjustable?
(wasn't there a select from multiple clock faces setting somewhere?)
I also noticed (its what really 1st got my attention!)
you have 5 launcher icons
I really like that feature! or even 4 wide how many total icons (rows?)

+1 (it's true 9 shortcuts it's not enought)
Sorry as a follow up I decide to remove the clock and slider
unfortunately I was unable to remove the clock completely
(remove programs failed) Fortunately I had backed up first and
was abel to get back the original white flip clock with a cold reset and restore
I might have had more luck if I turned off TF3D before attempting removal?
but just as a heads up the cams I had the problems with were
No_BG.cam and No_slider1920.cab
I've also noted that it Doesn't look like the task bars with the two file solution
are actually transparent? they look solid black?
The pic thats with the three files TF3D 2.5 top and bottom curtain files
and clock 26 trans. looks more like what I'm looking for, bit I don't understand how you replace the single manila files with the 3 masks (they all have the same name. even though in different subdirs) but can't help but wonder if these will work with the set of "colored task bar icons" I'm using? (aren't the masks
specific to the icons artwork?
I know I've asked "a lot" and from two different authors, but I'd be willing to
bet its an interesting topic that at least a few people would like to know more about.

I'd like to have the bottom slider (the one for selecting tabs) semitransparent.. Actually it is in today screen, ma I'd like to have it semitransparent also on all tabs.

After turning off the HTC Sense, I tried to copy and paste files, but the unit had the following message:
Can not copy 'Access Denied'
Make sure that the memory is enough free storage, the destination is not write protected and file is not being used
I am performing a wrong way?

Can someone make it look as in manila 2.1? the format there was dd/MMMM/YYYY two digit date, name of the month, four digit year.

Thanks for this too but this one adds the Call history and I want to replace the Calendar link! Can somebody provide me with the 2.1 Manila file that is responsible for the home screen links? I'll figure a way to replicate it over the 2.5 file!
BTW I allready changed the Link name! It says "Call History" now instead of "Calendar" but this was very easy. Now I have to figure how to link it to the coresponding manila page and make the link display missed call count.
Any inside on the matter will be very helpfull

I've installed a magnificent ROM in my HD2, I like it all but the changed icons set. Is it possible to have a CAB containing thge original Windows Mobile Icons set to replace the modified one?
Or where are the files to extract from the orginal HTC rom to override the actual ones to get the original icons?

The majority of the icons you see in a stock ROM are actually the icons embedded in the applications themselves. Icon's are generally not stored as separate entities on your device. This isn't always the case, but it's normal.
The modified icons you see are actually tied into the shortcuts, not the applications. To remove modified icons, you need to look at the following registry key...
\HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start
In there you will find registry keys that have are shortcuts and have a value called "Icon". (Guess what that is )
You can delete things from there, and as long as the app has its own icon, it will use that instead.
Just PLEASE make a backup of that whole registry key before you start. I'm not gonna be your 1st line support for the next month if you gash this up lol.

I'm not talknig about the applications icons! I know it by myself that the applications icons are stored in the applications themeselves! As you could understand readind the title I'm talking about the Windows Mbile default icons: setting folders, connection manager, bluetooth and so on!

Hi everybody,
I know this is a stupid question and out there are many threads about how to change the icons exct...
I also know my BIG problem make laugh many people because I should live with it but I have to know how to do it and make the icons like I like.
So, I have to change just 1 icon only in Settings/System folder, I used already uComber and JWMD Icon Changer v3.1b but no 1 ot them see the icon of the application, basically the ugly icon of SRS WOW HD Equalizer I can't change it. Enyone who have SRS know the icon is ugly but the program is amazing. But I really wanto to change that icon.
Is the last thing to make my rom looking well.
Someone said it's possible vie Registry but i am not sure about that because I am not into that section, but I can do it if someone explain to me how.
How can I change that icon?

Sorry but I forgot to mention also about this one, I already used this app CMSI 1.4b and if you did too you should know this, the program do not go to subfolders of Settings/System folder, he work ONLY in home tab.
Any Idea?

I did, but like I said, I go to Settings/System folder but the icon do not show up into the list of icons.

do you see the icon of WOW HD Settings? That's the icon which I can't change and I do not understand why!
If you can not see it in JWD then you will need hunt it in the registry & link a PNG file to it.
Have a look at this thread to help pin it down in registry:

I am here and I can't understand HOW make a link to a PNG file. The PNG file is already in Windows forlder and the name is equalizer007.png.
I opened SRSPanel.cpl,0 and was only 1 link of some "Group" empty, so I delete it and I make this link "Icon"="\\Windows\\equalizer007.png" but is not working or i did in wrong way. I don't know, on the thread is not exactly clear how to do it.

You are right, I saw few icons without text and also without icon it self and i try to replace them but isn't work, also the icons was not into System folder but was from nowhere, perhaps hidden or something like that.
Anyway, this was exacly what I was serching for but if you can halp me to set-up the icon or the cab i will appreciate your help,
OK, Guys, I did, WOW!
I saw the others links in the registry and they was written differently, so I did exaclty like the others and it's worked!
Ha ha, finnaly, now i can change icons without halp of any progr, that is amazing.
