Chang SMS messenge "sent" sound...

All,
as you know, when sending a sms message, it notifies with a "message sent" icon and alert tone. i want to change that ulgy tone with something else. can someone tell me the reg edit location to do this? i dont see the setting in notifications which is why im thinking its a reg tweak. thank you in advance....

As far as I know it's not possible to assign a "sms sent" sound. That's just possible for MMS messages.
But you could use Advanced Config to enable the "SMS sent notification" in the tree "Messaging".

there is already a tone assigned . when you send a sms and the popup says "message sent", there is a sound associated with that. i know its a registry setting. its not something you can change the conventional way. this same sound has been on the 6700 and 6800.. im just looking for the reg setting.
if anyone can tell me where the sms reg tweaks are in the reg tree, i could just look around... i just dont know where to begin.
as smart as everyone is on this forum i figured this wouldl be super easy...
i appreciate anyone who can help.

System Notification
Of course you can change the SMS Sent sound. Except that if you change the below string, it is gonna be the default system notification whereby you can change it to whatever you like from control panel. Here is the string: -
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default]
@="System Notification"
The above is gonna name the notification so that it appears on your control panel > change the sound file from there.

i am not clear on the "@=system notification". what do i do with that?
further, in the string you typed "dafau lt" with a space between. was that meant to be typed that way? i know one false move can muck up the registry so i would like to make sure i have you correct.
i see the entry but its "default".... i also see i can just rename the sound, but if i can get it to show up in the notification tab that would be cool.

The @ is the string value called "Default" that reflects the name above. The sapce was unintentional result as the copy & paste just screwed it up

Landscape mode and Text Messaging problem.

Anyone else feel that it is annoying that when you are in landscape mode, and you press the messaging button, it defaults to start a new text message? I would rather have it go to the list of all the messages that I have received??
Is there a registry edit, or something that I am missing with this?

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I'm pretty sure thats exclusive to what skin you are using for TF3D. If you install TF3D config and install another skin like the stock HTC one, you should get the messages window instead of the create new message window every time you click the messaging button.

Can someone recommend a skin for me? All I am looking for is to have the flipping clock.

I have the exact opposite problem. I've lost the ability function of creating new tasks/messages/etc from the landscape action screen.
no idea how I did it. I'm using the AT&T stock Rom without the bloat and have tweaked a few things with Diamond TF3D config, advance config, and Diamond Tweak. I have not changed any themes with TF3D config though.
Any suggestions on how to restore the ability to start new items from the landscape action screen again?

Diamond2 - Change default text size on SMS messages

i have an htc diamond 2 , only problem is on sms massages , text is too small and difficult to read, any ideas on how to make text letters on sms bigger???

Hi!
1) Slide touchflo to the settings tab (the last one)
2) Press the left soft button that should say something like all settings (or maybe "more", I don't have a WWE ROM so I really don't know what the button label is). This will bring up the regular windows mobile settings dialog.
3) Select the screen or display icon
4) In the screen dialog select the last tab at the bottom, I should say something like text size
5) Slide the text size slider to desired value
6) You may have to soft reset the device for the changes to be effective

Edited the thread title for a little more clarity.
Also, have you tried sliding your finger on the zoom bar? I know the original Diamond supports zooming SMS text with the capacitive area.

Could you please provide some more information regarding how you actually reads your messages. There are at least 3 different places to read a SMS
1) The touchflo SMS tab
2) The touchflo contact SMS tab
3) The regular windows mobile messages application
The suggested solutions mentioned so far only changes the font size in the regular windows mobile messages application (alternative 3). I think the font size in the touchflo interface is hard coded by HTC, and is not changeable without decompiling the touchflo script files and changes the values. This is not something you wants to do, I guess there are only a couple of people in this entire forum capable of performing that task.

ok , nice question , now we getting somewhere , on regular windows sms i can read the text size which i have selected on my system - screen -text size, but needs for someone to play around with a couple of buttons to be able to see that text, also is not that user friendly , (for me at least).
now on the other two cases touchflo sms tabs and touchflo contact sms the text is very small. the last two cases i find it friendly and easy to use and navigate around your sms history with that person.

Regarding SMS editing
DO you know how to solve the problem of the textbox size (to small, you can see only one or 2 lines) when editing an sms from the sms list view ? (e.g. when you want to reply on the same windows where you read the received sms).

That's only the text box that you type in, not the window that displays the messages. If anyone know the messages one, let me know

In settings there is a setting where you change the text size. Make that bigger and SMS will be bigger..

Hide/Show Sim Contacts Htc HD2

Simple solution:
-CeRegEditor (it's FREE) install it on your computer.
-Connect your hd2 IN ACTIVE SYNC MODE and WAIT until it appears.
-Run CeRegEditor and go to Hkey_Current_User\Control Panel\Phone
-Create a BINARY key ShowSim (right click Ad new binary key..) and set the value to 0 to disable and 1 to enable.

Sorry, I don't know, I didn't notice that but you are wright. Still, it doesn't bother me at all.

did everything like you said, and it didn't work. If you go to the sense people's tab, and click on all people, it still show all of the sim contacts.

Ummm...there's already an option for this in the standard manila people options.
People Tab > A'll contacts > menu > view > and you can choose "All", "Contcts" or "SIM".
So if you want conatcts without SIM contacts, just choose "contacts".

exactly! I'm running NRG Energy CHT that has bsb tweaks, but that changes them only on the contact list inside the start menu, it does nothing on the all people/people tab. It still shows doubles.
on some of my previous devices like excalibur and kaiser, there was a simshowhide app, actually it was more of an .exe, 'cause all you did was click on it and they would either show or disappear, but I haven't found another way for this.

wow, I can't believe it was something so simple and I overlooked it, I feel like a dumb ass, I usually play with my phone for a while after flashing to find all the features, but I haven't had much time in the 3 days that I've had my hd2, thank you very much for pointing that out.

Yes you are correct. This does hide the sim contacts in the people tab. But it does not hide the sim contacts in the sms tab. I have been looking to hide them here but have been unable to do so.

I know its there but it is always resetting itself and I want to not always have to pick it all the time more of a automatic permanent. So is there a better reg edit then BINARY key ShowSim that just shows ALL CALLS instead of contacts in the phone call section.

this is what im trying to do.
phone is set to CONTACTS only already but when I go write a new msg and pick a name it shows the name twice. 2 choices for same name is for contact and sim. gay.

If you want to automate this settings (lets say through XDA_UC) change/create the following registry keys

Changing default SMS/MMS program

Ok, I have a T*Mobile HTC Touch Pro2. From the home screen you see a slider bar at the bottom. One of the tabs available is for the SMS/MMS program which if I understand correctly is Manilla. This program is nice but I'm very annoyed that I have to input ONE CONTACT AT A TIME when I send a mass message...which I do very often. So here is what I wanna do...
I want to change the tab so that it pulls up a new SMS/MMS program instead of manilla. Let's call it EXAMPLE_PROG as the app I just installed SMS-CHAT doesn't do MMS as well, so I need to find a different app that includes both AND lets me do some sort of checklist to add multiple contacts at once. If you know of one, lemmie know.
Anywho, I have a registry editor and I have edited my laptop registry before so I know a little of what I am doing and I know that changing things I shouldn't COULD brick my phone. Therefore, I'm asking for help. What do I change so that choosing the MESSAGES tab brings up EXAMPLE_PROG instead?
