Hello everybody:
First of all sorry for my bad English.
I try to upgrade my s100 to 1.13 (as I did before to 1.12 and was ok) but unfortunately the PC was freeze and my system stop, to solve the situation was needed a PC reset.
When I try to continue, was impossible to put the s100 to bootloader mode.
I try to remove the main battery for all night, and try with hard reset (power and reset, power + camera and reset) and with soft reset, many times but nothing. it is totally dead.
I read in the forum, that some of you had the same problem, but fortunately after remove for a long time the main battery and some hard reset the s100 star with bootloader mode, that is no my case.
Any Idea?
will be needed to send it to Qtek technical service?
Thank to all of you for the good help and the interest in improving the general knowledge
If you're absolutely sure that there is nothing on the screen, i.e. totally black then you will have to send it to the technical centre.
I had to do the same with mine one back in July.
it's nothing. pres power+camera+ reset and hold. after you will see serial and then put in usb.
Thanks for your help, but nothing in the screen.
I try many times camara+power + reset and nothing
I think that will be necesary go to the servece center.
Thanks another time.
Did you try to restart the upgrade utility after that, without touching your s100?.
It happened to me some months ago when i was upgrading to imate rom that my pc self restart, then i began the upgrading utility and it finish all the work.
If that way don't work then like the others said, you must go to service center.
Cheers mate.
record + camera + soft reset then hard reset ok
Hi
We got a MDA Compact II for testing at work. Worked fine, but now the device is dead slow and needs ages to start. Soft reset didnt help and the main problem is we cant get the hard reset to work. From the manual it should be the Stand By Button + Reset Button pressed. But only thing that happens is that the screen goes black, nothing else. tried to hold it for longer time but no luck. It wont hard reset. We installed Mcaffee antivirus on it, it said it was the WM5 version but the uninstaller uses unload.exe which is not WM5 conform. Cant it lock the Hard Reset??
Anybody has a clue??
Thanks
Sascha

Hard reset on the MDA Compact II / HTC Charmer:
Press and hold both buttons on the left hand side (camera and record).
Use stylus to depress reset button.
Release reset button - keep holding the two side buttons for a count of 4 or 5.
Press the green phone button (Send) to format the phone.
Thanks. So the manual of t-mobile is wrong

Yep - they give the instructions for hard resetting the old MDA Compact.
Hello mates, I got my atom last week and since then it gets stuck and hangs for some time until it loads again whenever I hit the reset button.
Even hard reset doesn't help and either not taking the battery out...just need to hit the reset again and again until it comes back on...
I'm currently running the leaked ROM 20062017B1WWE
just to mention the issue started even with the older ROM installed.
Please help!
Hi.
Where did you get this ROM?
I'm looking for this rom WWE_R060221N do you have it?
Your rom is older or newer then WWE_R060221N?
Can you place in Emule so I can download?
Thank YOu
Re.
Hi there. I have a similar problem with my Atom (leaked ROM of course). Somehow, hitting SR button just leaves the initial screen with O2 logo hanging. You have to hit SR button several times or take out battery to make Atom boot. But, SR with O2 plus application works OK. Actually, it may get worse after awile and even taking out battery may not help to boot Atom. I had to re-run ROM upgrading to make my Atom boot after SR, but still hitting SR button makes Atom freeze.
Seems like we've got the same
problem mate....I really think that's a hardware problem because I tried to do everything and it still get stuck and hangs on the startup screen after a soft reset is performed. Anyways I'm gonna take my Atom back to the place I've bought it so they can check it and hopefully change it to a brand new one (thats what I hope so...)
Let me know how did you handle with your own problem.
You sure you aren't too impatient? With my Atom it takes around one minute to soft reset. It has XCPUScalar installed, I'm suspecting that this is part of the reason. The O2 logo stays on for maybe 20 seconds, then the WM5 screen for 20 and finally the Scalar stays on for at least the same before I can punch in my pin code.
Re
Thanks for your response..
I don't think I'm impatient as you said because I keep waiting for the Atom to load for at least 2-3 mins after the SR button is pressed, once I even tried leaving it hangs on the o2 screen for a whole night and it was still stuck...anyways I really don't know what to do.
Any other comments would be appreciated.
Cheers.
P.S
I never installed XCPUScalar on this device and never touched the overclocking settings.
Then I would say harware problem, yes.
I have the same problem since I bought it. I resolved in this way:
If you want to soft reset your unit press on/off button and softreset at the same time, you will see the option for hard reset but don't affraid just leave it in this option don't press anything and your atom will soft reset itself with no problems.
hi eljure, i tried your suggest and it worked on the first time i pressed the power button + soft reset button together, but then again it got stuck and hang on the o2 screen after the 2nd try.....anyways i had to wait again for like almost 1 hour until it loeded up again and that after all the resets i've done while i was waiting for it to load, only a hard reset worked after that.
so I really don't know what the problem is but it's freaking me out.
the store I bought it from said only next week they gonna get a new stock of the Atom so i'm stuck with it until then.
I have similar problem..maybe the same..the phone just hangs at O2 logo. I tried to press and hold power button and press reset button then it asks to press send and end button reset to factory factory default..after I press both button, it says device clean boot...reset to factory default!!..how long do i have to wait for it to set to factory default? or which way is the right way to hard reset? Anyone knows how to repair this problem, please help

I have a similar problem where my O2 Atom will just switch off (go black) when I press the Soft Reset.
I do not get the O2 splash screen, and there is no response from any buttons or the power button. Even depressing the SR again does nothing. I have to remove and replace the battery to bring the unit back to life.
This has been happening since the phone was new (7 days ago).
ROM 20060123B1WWE.
Cheers,
Freedy.
I have the same trouble.
Hardware bug, obviously.
i have a big problem...
one friend gived me a magician.
everytime i soft-reset it, he makes me a hard reset.
everytime i turn it on, or charge it, appears "SERIAL" on top and v1.00on the bottom.
the on/off botton seems not to work.
what can i do?
so when you do a hard reset what happens ?
Hey fellas, My phone (HTC P3300) is stuck on the warning screen it shows when performing hard reset.. (This operation will delete all your personal data, and... )
It does not respond to any keystroke.. I've taken the battery out and then plugged in again.. but it shows the same thing over again..
I did not try to perform any hard reset btw... put it in my pocket and then took out after a while to make a call and it's same since then.. I don't suppose there was anything in my pocket that could have pressed the soft keys and then push the reset button.. Can this be a hardware problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

Yeah the problem could relate to your hardware.
What happens exactly when booting your device?
It just displays the same screen over..
So no boot screen, just when you boot, it goes directlly in that hardreset mode?
When this text appears, just press the Attend Call Button, colored Green. Hope this will help you.
Thanks
yes it takes me directly to the confirmation screen..
and the phone's not responding to any keystrokes either..
Have you tried performing a hard-reset?
If not, try it.
If so, can you go into bootloader or doesn't that keystroke work either?
Thanks.. Yes, I tried doing a hard reset.. It's the same again..
How do I go into the bootloader?
Hold down the voice speed dial button and soft reset – you should then enter bootloader mode.
Then, connect to your PC and flash a new ROM. Go to the Artemis section to find out more.
I couldn't enter the bootloader mode.. but I got it repaired... turns out there was some problem with the keypad.. :|
But thanks for your help guys.. much appreciated.
No problem, good to hear that your problem is solved.
