It is what it is. All HTC phones are locked into specific roms ( usually designated by the carrier) to keep people from bricking their phones with roms that are not made for their phones.
If it is an Orange phone, then all updates have to come from Orange. If you want to be able to use any Kaiser rom or software, you will have to unlock it here.

Hi guys,
I've just received my T mobile branded Kaiser. It's called the Vario 3.
As i am not looking to use the device with tmobile. Is it possible to debrand this device? If so, please explain how. My assumtption is that i'll need to upload a generic rom to the device.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Please read the forum first, before you post a question...
Especially the sticky threads...
To be short:
We know it's called the Vario 3 / Vario III
...
You can probably unbrand the outside by rubbing some sugar against the logo's (I don't take any responsability for this, but it's known to be working on a T-Mobile MDA Vario I).
Th 'inside' is also known as the ROM an can't be unbranded yet...
Just wait untill we are able to CID-unlock it, so you can flash the ROM with an unbranded one...
For now you can hard-reset (format) it and jst after the screen alignment when it's counting down for customization soft-reset it by pushing your stylus up the little hole in the bottom of your device...
Good luck...
Oh, and...
Welcome to the Kaiser forum
Hi,
Sorry for not reading the sticky stuff, i'm just not that familiar with the technical terms for these devices so i thought me asking 'again' novice-style may be cool. Thanks for your help on this mate.
No problem...
I started out this way too, so...
I can tell you it's really worth it to dive in to this forum...
You can learn a lot if you check the threads once in a while...
Be carefull with advanced adjustments to your device, especially when you haven't got the right ROM for backup...
On the other hand, don't be scared to try out some stuff, because it's very hard to brick a device...
BTW:
Bricking means you screw up youre device so terribly (beyond repair) that it's turned in to a brick / expensive paperweight...
Just tried putting in my vodaphone sim into the Vario 3 and it says SIM LOCK code needed....Any advice where to get one from apart from t mobile?
Sorry...
I guess you'll have to wait...
pof is working on a CID-unlocker and probalby on a way to SIM-unlock it too...
I heard it's a difficult procedure, because the way it's simlocked is 'new'...
Maybe you can try www.imei-check.co.uk...
It's a paid service...
Decide for yourself if you're willing to pay, or have the patience to wait for a free solution...
I'm definatley sticking with the last one...
alright guys, for those of u that have generic stock HTC? can like one or two of you pm me ur tytn s/n cuz HTC.com wont accept my AT&T 8925 one, im happy to post my stuff here too, but i got a feelin that if either me using one of ur s/n's or like one of u actually login to HTC.com can get the latest shipped roms no problem
HTC eClub doesn't list any downloads for the TyTN II on the page I get currently.
HTC eClub is only for non-branded devices and I am not sure, if someone will share SN for you...
thats coo thats coo if any of you have access to eclub cuz i have it for my artemis, and its a really nice windows mobile 6 image for it so i was hoping if it posts someone will post it for us... ill actually provide server space for it on my server i have unlimited bandwidth
eClub only allows one person to register with a particular SN so no one is likely to give you yours - it would mean they couldn't register themselves.
Most ROMs get reposted here anyway. For example the latest (actually at the moment only) TyTn II ROM is available already.
funny question lol... No AT-T branded device can register with HTC.com its that simple. You would have to go to AT-T for support. Don't worry about ROM upgrades you will find them here months before you see them any place else
Been visiting the htc.com eClub, there is nothing about Kaiser/TyTN II so far. Quite disappointed. Everytime I tried to click "Phone Software Update", I got "Select your PDA phone or smartphone model from the list. If your registered product is not listed, please check back next time as new patches are added regularly." But, there is no way I can select my PDA phone. HTC eClub is useless!!!! (of course, correct me if I am wrong)
Pretty simple answer - No official updates for the TyTn II have been released yet. There's only one ROM available, and it ships on the device. The only people who have a use for that particular ROM can't register on eClub anyway because they have Tilts or Vario IIIs and not TyTn IIs.
Where is the brilliant idea ?
Hello there After realising that my Sony Ericsson K850i was not fufilling my Tech dreams after much seareching i decided not to join the hype and go down the route of the I phone or N95 or nokia E90 I swaped my K850i through www.swapz.co.uk for a Nearly new HTC tytn II Kaiser unfortunatly locked to orange.
I have unlocked it via IMIE checker to unlock i tried and tried jockys unlocker but to little avail, May be down to running vista.
Right i need to know About ROM's what are they etc the phone still has lots of orange branded bits start up screen etc it has radio version 1.27.12.29.
I am looking for the i phone type set up and to get rid of orange branding firm where etc.
Please help whats the best ROM and sorftware should i be running I have ordered a 8gb card for it and have Tom Tom 6 ready to go on it.
