Kaiser For Sale!!!

i posted this in the Kaiser forums too but wanted to spread the love
just got my Kaiser (AT&T Tilt) less than a month ago. works great, it's just not for me. my Krzr just works better for me and i'm much more comfortable with it. i live in the Bay Area in CA and would love to sell it to a fellow ROM flasher before i go to e-bay. i can provide pics if need be but i honestly barely used it. it maybe has 90 mins of talk time on it and 20 mins of internet usage before i decided it wasn't for me. i flashed back to the Original AT&T ROM and reverted to original Radio and SPL so it's back to OUT-OF-BOX stock. have the Original CD and of course manuals and USB cable. buyer pays for shipping and i will ship same day of sale if possible.

Yeah too right it was declined. People offering me silly money. Think I'm stupid??? If people don't want to pay what these things are worth, they should either forget it and get a device that suits their budget, or wait a couple of years until it drops to the price you want to pay (judging by the offers, it'll be about 10 years!! ), instead of wasting my time and looking a little bit foolish...

Things to take into account:
Is it Simlocked to O2? I bought mine new and sim-free last year for £624 so if locked might be considered expensive for a second-hand item when you consider if anything goes wrong with it, they'd have to go through you go get it repaired.
Can you still actually leave buyers negative feedback? I thought that had been stopped by ebay.

O2 do not, and never have SIM locked their Windows Mobile devices. The Flint is pretty much the standard HTC offering, though the current ROM does not have the HTC Home front end.
O2 also tend to do warranty repairs based on the IMEI, so do not necessarily need the original owner to mediate things, as long as you are using an O2 SIM.
It seems amazing that prices seem to vary from around £320 to well over £500 on Ebay.

Thanks for clearing that up, if I were in the market it'd justify the cost for me.
Maybe if matmaneyre could point these things out in the item description it'd clear things up to the public in general and bring about a quicker sale
I still don't think it's possible to leave negative feedback to a buyer though, especially one with whom no transaction has actually occurred.

Yes- you're right. Ebay changed the rules at the end of last year, for better or worse, though as you say, it was never possible to leave FB for someone who didn't actually buy.
With Ebay, the content of the advert say's an awful lot about the product and the seller

To be honest, by 'too complicated for me' I really meant not quite right for me, as it has too many features I am not going to use, and I think I would be better off cashing in and getting something more suitable to my needs. Hope that clears it up a bit. I'd have put that in the description, but it seems to take so long to create a good listing just the way you want it, minor things that the everyday person browsing for such a device just get overlooked when you preview your listing before submitting it. Once you get to a stage where you think it sounds and looks good enough, you kinda just go with it.
As you say, it's no more complicated than any other WM device. It is available as an upgrade through O2, but strictly only to business customers. They are extremely hard to get hold of otherwise. I hounded them literally everyday for a month because I returned my faulty Serra (see my signature) and they couldn't offer me an equal or better replacement. All their Serras were out of stock - really messed me about for 4 weeks. In the end they backed down as there was nothing else they could offer me.
They don't know their ear from their elbow.
And I didn't realise you couldn't leave negative feedback to a buyer as luckily I've never been in a situation where I'd want to, although that's really only on there to make people think seriously before submitting an offer. I don't want to be relisting all the time for the sake of someone not reading the buyer restrictions or trying to scam me.
Hope that explains a few things...if you're still wary,. check my feedback. I've sold all my WM devices of the last 5 years on ebay (see sig again!) And see my postcount and view my posts too. I am a real, genuine human!!

O2 UK to get Touch HD2 (AKA Leo) in October

Just spoke to an O2 rep and they said a new phone had just it their system called an HTC HD2 which was due for release towards the end of October.
I was surprised as they have never sold an HTC branded phone before. Also, O2 and their release dates are often way off, I remember phones being pushed months and months based on their original release dates.
Exciting news none the less.

Would be better to post your coment on the same Leo thread insted of creating the 6th thread regarding Leo!!

There is no official Leo thread. Just one stating that it is the first decent phone by HTC in a long time. I did not want to go off topic on that thread as I was not making any comment on how good that phone was.
Perhaps as a Mod you could spend less time picking on long term users and more time creating a Leo section on the site?!?

If this is true it's fantastic news. I was angry they didn't have the TP2 available, only iPhones as an upgrade, but the Leo looks like it will piss all over the TP2.
I'll not have to upgrade to an iPhone, sell it at a reduced rate, and put the money towards the Leo now.

I recently left O2 as there was no TP2 or equivalent. I am absolutely loving my TP2 and (1) I really use the keyboard and so maybe want the phone after the LEO, and (2) its anyone's guess when they will actually release it (o2 that is).
Also, my 18 month contract for my TP2 will finish in february 2011, and so the market should be flush with new WM7 native phones.
So I am not feeling bad about not waiting.

Did exactly the same as you my friend. Left O2 as no TP2. Moved to Orange on an 18 month. Mine finishes March 2011. So as you, Ill get myself a Touch Pro 3 with WM7. I like my keyboard to much to switch to a HD or Diamond.

If you're stuck in a contract you could always sell your existing handset and use the money you raise to buy a new one SIM-free, then continue to use the new phone with your contract SIM.

I prefer to use the network phone insurance as I have young kids who are very adept and getting my phone when I am not looking.
I just find it easier to call up and get a replacement if something happens to it.
Can't really do that if the network has never sold the model of phone I am using.

Looks like we'll be able to get the Leo for free from o2 on a £44 18 month contract according to engadget.

O2 normally rebadge their HTC phones as XDA phones like this one - XDA Guide (aka HTC Touch Cruise 09). A bit of a waste of time and money I am sure. Now that HTC is a pretty main stream brand they are maybe going to just sell them as HTC devices. Giving away my HTC Fuze

First off I hope this is in the correct section, I figured it was an appropriate place as any. I lurked around the Touch Pro section for a while (in fact xda-developers was the reason I purchased the Fuze in the first place) and have had a great time playing around with custom ROMS and apps for the device.
I went back to an old Nokia device a while ago because I wasn't really using data at all, but now I'm moving to Sprint to get the Evo 4G and this Fuze is still laying around, unused.
It's in great condition, almost perfect I would say, and I'll throw in the charger and whatnot if you would like.
I'd like to give it to someone from this community who needs or can make use of it. Just post a quick reason why you would like it and within a couple days I'll decide who to send it to.

Well I would like to have your phone, since my TP has an awful ghosting on the screen which makes the screen really hard to read sometimes, but if there are other people that can make better use of it (like ROM developers) they of course have a better reason for getting it than me ^,^

Thats a very generous offer. I do not intend of keeping my Fuze much longer personally as I am growing annoyed with microsoft. But i have yet to find any android based phone i like (Aside from the Droid, but i despise Verizon).
Unfortunately, my Fuze has a defective touch screen. My original Fuze never had working wifi, which was then replaced under insurance with a refurbished phone. This phone is great and all, except for the loose keyboard and faulty touch screen.
When i draw a line across the screen with my stylus in notepad, you can see the line curve and go under or above the dead zone, very freaky and annoying. Most likey if you are willing to give it to me, mine would be given to my soon-to-be fiance as she is leaving her host family (au pair) and will have no phone.

I don't know if you know me, but I'm Captain_Throwback, a Mod here, and also a Raphael chef. I've been having issues with my Fuze of late, and fortunately, since I have insurance on my device, I was able (just yesterday) to get a Tilt 2 as a replacement for my device. Unfortunately, that means I can longer produce Raphael ROMs for my loyal ROM users, and I'd really hate to stop doing that - it's been quite a process getting my Kitchen together (3 times now), and putting together ROMs that are stable and to my liking. The insurance company claims "right of salvage" on any replaced devices, so unless I want to pay full retail for the Tilt 2, I have to return my Fuze to them. So, it was suggested that I post in this thread for a shot at having another Fuze, so that I can continue cooking for this great community, and update my ROM which is over a month old, at this point.
I have a few dollars in my Paypal account, so I wouldn't mind covering shipping costs, and throwing a few extra dollars in there for it as well, since I understand the device isn't free. But I'm sure (as the above poster noted) there's someone who needs it more than me.
I'm sorry to hear that you never got the full potential out of your Fuze (perhaps you should've flashed my ROM on it ), but I'm sure someone here will give it a good home, and make sure that it gets used well. Happy choosing!

Over the weekend my touch screen just completely stopped working and i have not idea why, i contacted at&t for insurance replacement but they arent helping me at all, since i bought it from newegg with a service plan through at&t theres some confusion about the insurance and i think i got really screwed. long story short they wont help me unless i renew my 2 year agreement and newegg cant do anything either. im inclinded to fix it myself but im pretty broke with other expenses so im completely phoneless until i can figure something out. ive already flashed back to the stock rom and checked the cable to the lcd and that seems to be whats wrong but to get a new cable id have to order it from hong kong and that seems like the least desirable option, going 4 weeks with no phone would be terrible for me. ive got other stuff on my plate but i dont want this to turn into a total sob story, if theres any way i can get some help i would be ecstatic. id throw whatever money ive got towards it as well

I would really like to give my friend a touch pro for her birthday, I guess that would be so cool for her =]. Also this could be a good present since I have a crush on her :$. Im a big fan of the Touch Pro, and I really convinced people around me that they should get one too. They really like the device. I could make a "fake" message that my Touch Pro just broke, but no. I am just being honost, I hope you will give the Touch Pro to whoever deserves it.

sorry man but im not a butthole, im pretty screwed right now, i can upload a video with a time stamp of me trying to calibrate the phone because thats as far as i can get since i flashed it back to stock trying to fix it.

i'd like to make a suggestion.
while Captin_Throwback is hard to ignore on this (rom maker and all) i would like to suggest donating your fuze to the hard workers developing android on our devices. i'm sure they would like to have another for when nand testing starts and whatnot.
just a thought.

Good One, you can treat my response as non-existent, because either the Captain or the XDAndroid Team could make far better use out of it than me ^^

Need some advice

I bought an HTC ONE from swappa. The seller has sold one other item, an iphone 5s. He listed it in great condition but that was it. It was 260 bucks, I had good experience with Swappa so I bought it. When it arrived it was not stock, the boot loader was unlocked and it was running Revolution HD, would not connect to google services and was spotty on the data connection working.
I messaged the seller and he claimed not to know anything about rooting, or putting on a different rom etc, so I asked him if he was the original owner. He replied no he bought it about two weeks ago (I had bought it on 3/22). So as I was digging on the phone to try and figure out what was going on I saw files in the sd card in download - from 3/5 3/15/319.3/21 and so on. He also had pictures dated up to the 21st, and I found the zip for revolution dated the 15th.
I aslo found a downloaded doc for a insurance claim on cell phones..which set off a red flag. I contacted Swappa and told them these things and they thought it was concerning that he seemed not to know anything about flashing etc.
He replied in my sales thread to swappa that he could not believe they would just take my word for it that how do they know I am not lying about it..
SO..in the same sales thread i posted screenshots as proof, since he left screenshots of the phone on it..

You can see then above...and he still insists he knows nothing about it and then went off about me and the staff siding with me and I ruined his first sales experience and on an on but still insisting he knows nothing about rooting and images and roms
at this point I don't know...I am afraid he is going to file some sort of lost or stolen phone claim and screw me. His insisting he knows nothing about roms etc even though there are files on the phone up to the day before he shipped it to me..or do I just accept he got caught in a lie and keep the phone...
any opinions?
