Reverting from Energy ROM 6.5 to Stock AT&T 6.1 - Touch Pro, Fuze General

sry for my last thread but i decided to give Energy ROM 6.5 a shot at it but what im concerned is if i wanna go back to the Stock at&t ROM 6.1 will any mess up?? i already have HardSPL it can anyone help me out? thnx

no, there is no danger in flashing between roms specially after you've got hardSPL. Just recommended that once a new rom is done flashing and you get to the alignment screen, do a hard reset.

Stupid Question

This is probably a stupid question, and I think I already know the answer, but I'm going to ask anyway. I have a G3 Cingular 8125 (Wizard). If I upgrade to a WM6 rom, what will happen if I do a hard reset? Will I revert back to my original rom, or will it reset with the upgraded rom? Also, is there anywhere to download the original Cingular rom in case I ever need it (for customer service or something)? Thanks!
it will reset to ur upgraded rom/
you can download the original cingular ROM at
http://www.htcamerica.net/support/8125/software-downloads.html
So if I upgrade to WM6 and don't like it/whatever, I can go back to origional with that ROM?
yes, you can.
So which ROM is the most stable, straight up WM6 rom? It doesn't have to have a bunch of extra stuff. If I want the extras, I'll install them.

5.2.1620 & + issue

ive been flashing roms for a good year now with pretty good lucky with everything. but now with the 1620 and greater(1908) i have had the problem where i will build a rom or flash one of the cooks roms(OCTAIVOI's Wizard 4.5) and it will flash fine..but upon the first boot(and every boot after) it will freeze and restart when it reaches the screen calibration... i have only been able to flash and run one 1620 ron and that is NBD 9.1
i really have no idea what this problem is, i have tried everything i can think of(flashing back to manufacture rom)
any help or just ideas would b great appreciated!
i hope im not the only one with this issue...
Perhaps it is a touch.dll related issue, the touch driver on the wizard is either one that is compatible with the Touch sfotware such as the cube etc, and the other is not (the original) perhaps you are combining the wrong driver into the ROM.
no i dont believe so, bc ive tried roms that were already built and tested by others...and i have the same issue some how...and on my rooms i dont include the cube so i dont believe i a touch.dll involved....im starting to wonder if its might b a hardware issue somehow..idk
on another note my wizard cant be overclocked past 223...idk if that could have any correlation...
thanks for the fast response!
Are you flashing from a base rom like tmobile or cingular 1st?
Try those then flash to the wm6 of your choice. NBD seems the most stable with that build.

Most current AT&T Tilt ROM?

I'm having trouble with my Tilt (it recently started being randomly unresponsive to commands (15-20 second lag some times). Is there going to be a new AT&T 6.1 official ROM with updated drivers? My device has the 8-25-07 ROM date, and before I decide what to do I'm checking on the status of official AT&T releases.
No, as far as I know, there isn't an official one yet. However, a lot of the cooked ROMs on this site will probably fix your problem.
If you can't wait for the official ATT WM6.1 release then you could try their latest WM6.0 release http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=67&act=sd or as mentioned, could try a cooked ROM.
upgrade ur hardspl and the lags/freezes will be gone.

Looks like he is still using an old Stock ATT Tilt ROM (WM 6.0), so that is not likely the issue.
@ gmfeld. If you have had your Tilt for a quote some time, it is possible that you simply have some junk, or orphaned registry settings, or something slowing your system down.
I would recommend either upgrading your ROM to the latest Stock ATT Tilt ROM (as posted above), or simply doing a Hard Reset to get your current ROM back to its original state. Of course, do a BACKUP before you do anything that involves Hard Reset or Flashing!!!1
I just got my tilt and I think I have a newer official version.
It is
ROM 1.62.502.0
Date 01/17/08
Radio 1.27.14.09
I've noticed it has a bluetooth headset issue (not sure if it is exclusive to mine) where it will end the call, but won't hang up in the phone program.
gmfeld & vanisher,
I would suggest you at least run PPCPimBackup then a hard reset. If you have a little time this weekend you should read through G.W.E.N.I. then flash a nice cooked ROM. Play with your device and post educated questions in the proper threads. You WILL appreciate your device more than you ever did...guaranteed.

The above is a noob success story. I would recommend you go the same ROM route as he did as for starters.
There is no official AT&T WM6.1 ROM yet, but we're getting there.
Check the shipped ROMs section on the wiki to see how new / old your ROM is.

Thanks to all for all the suggestions. I've been running SKTools, so I'm pretty sure I've gotten rid of all the junk and orphaned registry settings, etc.
I agree with all that I need to flash a new ROM, or reflash my original ROM, that's the only thing left to do to clean up my Tilt. Just trying to get some info on when or if a new official AT&T 6.1 ROM is to be released, so I don't go through that process twice. If I knew that its a ways off, I will probably then go with one of the cooked ROMS now.

any way to back up D2's ROM?

plan to upgrade to WM 6.5 but worry about campatiablity issue.
want to back up the rom and just in case I can roll back to original ROM.
any advise from your guys?
When you do the upgrade, the cooker have already ported all the drivers, then all will work.
But remember to do a hard reset after the upgrade

[Q] hard reset after installing cooked ROM

Total NOOB question: I've installed a cooked ROM, and can't find it on my hard drive. If I do a hard reset, does this reinstall the most-recent, cooked ROM, or the stock schlock?
Specs:
htc Tilt 2 (was tf3d, now Sense 2.5 )
WinMo 6.5
flashed nrgz's energyRom 12911_2011
TNQ #2: I can't find Task Manager, or get it to load in the top right corner of the taskbar.
TNQ #3: I deleted all settings for Att.ISP connection. Any way to restore/manually re-create them?
Edit: just answered TNQ #3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362586
after flashing a new (custom) rom the hardreset wont return to the stock rom.
you always get back to the state after flashing rom.
