when i open my keyboard the sip switches to full keyboard - when i slide the keyboard in the sip remains on full keyboard- is there anyway for it to automatically get it to revert back to the compact qwerty

hello,
i dont know if it is a custom rom issue. but most time i cant switch my keyboard to other installed sip (for example hikeyboard or resco keyboard). its in the list, but when selecting it, it remains the standard htc keyboard. the only think i can switch are the htc sips (keyboard, touch qwerty, touch keypad ...)
however. on some reboots its possible to switch to hikeyboard. but not always.
any ideas?
ps. im using ukD Diamond R8 WWE ROM

Don't know why, but for some odd reason the Fuze just decided to switch to compact QWERTY, and when I try to change it from the input menu, it just reverts right back to compact QWERTY. Any help on how to make it stop this?
Go to a place where you get the touch keyboard and look at the icon at the bottom, theres an arrow designating a menu. Open the menu and change it to the keyboard of choice.
Hey guys,
I upgraded my ROM (Asian ROM) from 1.9xx.xxx (don’t remember what it is) to the latest 5.07.831.2 last night from the HTC HK site. ( I bought mine in Hong Kong)
After upgrading, TF3D still switches from Portrait to Landscape mode when I open the keyboard.
However, when I close the keyboard, the screen (TF3D) remains in Landscape. The only way I can switch from Landscape -> Portrait is to turn the screen off and turn it back on.
Any ideas on which registry settings might be causing this? Is it a ROM issue or could it be a registry conflict issue since I imported my old registry settings?
Thanks a lot.
Just wanted to add that I think the keyboard is also an, if not at issue
- Keyboard will awake phone when slid open
- Keyboard is active and will type
- Screen just doesn’t respond to being open/closed
Also, I tried using the Standard WM Today screen and the opposite happened: orientation does not change when I open the keyboard.
When the keyboard is open in both TF3D and WM Today Screen, the directional arrows function in landscape mode (down key moves downward instead of to the left. Up key moves upwards instead of to the right).
Nothing on this?
Before flashing a new rom to my tablet, when I used samsung keyboard and went into handwriting mode, I was able to switch back to QWERTY with a click of a button. But now, instead of the keyboard icon, there is the settings icon; therefore I need to press and hold it so that it shows the keyboard option.
Is there a way to set up the keyboard so that the default of that icon is back to QWERTY and not to settings?
I know it's not a big deal, and that I could switch back to QWERTY by pressing and holding. However as a student, it'll be helpful for me to be able to switch from handwriting to QWERTY quickly.
I just got the official Samsung keyboard cover for my Tab S2. It seems that the bluetooth keyboard doesn't work properly if the default on-screen keyboard is Swype (my favorite). I have to manually select the Samsung on-screen keyboard to make the bluetooth keyboard work correctly.
Is there any way to automatically switch to the Samsung on-screen keyboard when the bluetooth keyboard is turned on, and switch back to Swype when the bluetooth keyboard is turned off? There is a power switch on the bluetooth keyboard, so turning it on/off is not a problem.
Thanks.
I have a partial solution for now. I installed Swiftkey. It doesn't show the virtual keyboard when the Bluetooth keyboard is turned on. It does still show the word predictions at the bottom, however. Not quite as annoying as Swype. I'll have to use Swiftkey for a while and see how it compares to Swype, which I've been using for years.
If anyone has a solution to my original problem, I'd love to hear it.
