Anyone knows how to insert Exchange sync into a ROM?
I'd like to use ion ROM, but need Exchange.
Thanks in advance.
Tried adding Exchange.apk and htc framework, but no results.

a few of my thoughts & questions about android/htc magic
i dont really know how much you can mess around with the code, but what i think would be really great is gmail with exchange support. well, all my exchange mails would land in the gmail client but with the exchange label, and the same for contacts and calendar. does anyone know if this is possible? or is google planning some native exchange support for 2.0 maybe?
and i wonder have anyone been able to 'extract' the htc activesync function from the htc builds and used it for the ion or vanilla builds?
right now im running the stock htc build on a nordic version of the htc magic, whats the real difference between the htc/ion/vanilla build of android?
not sure why you need Exchange Support when you have Google Services running with Mails, Contacts & Calendars sync up in Android. for me can forget about the support and enjoy the Natively Run Google services.
I too really want a working exchange solution, Nitrodesk works but is more server intensive than the iphone say.
I keep my fingers crossed something happens soon

And it doesnt support user names with a space in them, massive oversight really.
I think I can solve my email\exchange issues on the Darchdroid version.
Currently I believe this version supports only mail sync. But the other roms with sense ui, have their mail app that supports sync with calendars, mail , contacts.
Can someone please post this application so I can install on mine and see if this will help resovle this email/contact/calendar sync issue I have?

I doubt the mail app from the sense 2.1 will install on the aosp ROMs....pm me your email and I will send it to you.
I installed some other email exchange app from a G1 and it works fine. But I am in the same boat, it doesnt sync calendar. Only because I was able to install it, am I daring to try it.

The day's aren't looking too good.
I'm having a similar problem..can someone provide me with a link to the mail.apk for htc sense rom?
I am also looking for the htc mail.apk file
Can anyone provide me some guidance on getting Exchange Sync functionality on DarchvanillaV2? Is it just an .apk I can add in?
I love the ROM...so awesome, but I really need my work email, contacts AND calendar...(unfortunately )
Thanks in advance for any help offered!
I don't have that ROM, but I think you have to use HTC Sync to get Outlook to sync. That is what I am doing....
I think you might be talking about using an exchange mail server? If you are talking about that you just select "exchange" in your mail app and enter in the info.

Thanks for the input! I'm actually looking for an apk that will make it possible. Maybe I can push HTC Sync to the ROM and it'll work?
I am in need of a working AOSP email app that will work with my exchange account. Here's what I got.. EVO running CM7 with the latest nightly, and my exchange server is 2007. Mow here is my problem, when I fill in the appropriate information I select SSL and accept all certificates but it will then say "the exchange server requires security features your phone does not support." And this is only with the AOSP mail client. HTC and touchdown work fine. Now my question is, does anyone know a work around to get my exchange to connect? I don't want an email apk that has removed any security features or anything like that. I have searched but all I have found are mail apks that are modded to remove the pin (which doesnt help me). I just want a stock mail apk that will work! Lol I going crazy. Not sure if I will ever find a way to get this to work but I figured I'd give one more try with you guys! Thanks!
I know this is old but I'm having the same thing happen now. Running MIUI, email was working fine the other day, then I'm guessing our Exchange Admins ran an update or made a change that caused any AOSP mail client to work. I've tried flashing to CM7 and that mail client does not work, however, the stock Samsung client does. I also made an Email.apk for MIUI and CM7 that both bypass Exchange security that I've tried and neither of those work now.
What are we missing here?
I am running MIUI 1.9.9 and I have the stock email app working fine with my work Exchange server. It eats the hell out of my battery but it is work fine.
Hi all,
I have strange problem. In every JB rom I have tried, I can't see calendar from exchange server. I set exchange server in acounts, email and contacts from exchange works fine, but calendar is not visible. In ICS ROM everything works fine.
Does anybody have same problem?

Thank You, looks great and the support for tasks is also good. I will try It when I flash CM10, now I´m on CM9, but I think it wouldn´t help because in account settings/exchange i have checked calendar sync, but in stock and other calendar apps I can´t see the exchange calendar, so I think this is ROM problem. Maybe something is missing, but in OOneROM editor I didn´t delete exchange.apk ang email.apk. These are (in my opinion) all apps required for exchange.
