Exchange Calendar Sync - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

Can anyone provide me some guidance on getting Exchange Sync functionality on DarchvanillaV2? Is it just an .apk I can add in?
I love the ROM...so awesome, but I really need my work email, contacts AND calendar...(unfortunately )
Thanks in advance for any help offered!

I don't have that ROM, but I think you have to use HTC Sync to get Outlook to sync. That is what I am doing....
I think you might be talking about using an exchange mail server? If you are talking about that you just select "exchange" in your mail app and enter in the info.

Thanks for the input! I'm actually looking for an apk that will make it possible. Maybe I can push HTC Sync to the ROM and it'll work?

Calendar and Contacts Sync... GMail and Exchange

Is there any way to get My GMail Calendar to Sync as well as an Exchange Calendar? I am talking with the stock ROM. I know this will work with the other ROMS, but I am talking using the Stock TnT Roms. Did a search, and did not find any clues if this is possible.
Wondering the same thing myself...

Looks like an option, but that means using the non-stock calendar, email, and contact apps.
I cannot understand why TNT would not support this....

[Q] Windows Live in Android

Hi guys,
Looking on switching from WinMo to Android... Is there a way to sync Windows Live Contacts and Calendar in Android?
I would agree this is a noob question... But I didn't find conclusive information searching the forum.
Please... It's important for me since my main mail is @hotmail and all my contacts and calendar events are stored there...
Thanks!

Yes. I did both at one time (I'm using google exclusively for sync now). I think you can set it up either in Accounts, or set up the Exchange email service, and then in accounts you can set up the sync.
Guarantee you can do it, though. Whenever I flash a new ROM, I have to tell it not to sync my live.com contacts and calendar.
Tnx!
I will look some other "details" and will probably flash Enery Desire HD this week.
Cheers.

Thanks! I just flashed. I'm fighting some other details. But Live Account worked great!

Outlook 2010 Sync of Contacts to G-Mail... BEST APP for this??

So I now love Android since getting an Android Gingerbread Tablet and Gingerbread phone... but the one thing I so far can NOT figure out how to do reliably and automatically is syncing my Outlook 2010 Contacts up to my Gmail account (which will then sync from Gmail to my android phone and tablet).
The only way I have been doing it right now is just export my Outlook contacts to a CSV.. then import the CSV into Gmail.. then Gmail syncs down to my phone.
Well this is not the 'automated' solution I am looking for. I have employees that update the Outlook 2010 contact information all day and then I never get the updates on my android phone when in the field. For me to do the CSV import thing every night is a real pain in the ass (my Outlook contact information changes daily btw).
I have a server that stays running all the time with Outlook 2010 installed... I do NOT use an Exchange server btw.. and I do NOT want to use exchange.. so that is out of the question. Basically I guess I am looking for some plugin or something into Outlook 2010 that can sync the 'CONTACTS' folder up with my specified G-mail account.. it would be great to also sync the outlook 'Calender' as well if possible.
and of course 2-way syncing would be ideal.. this way if I am in the field and I get a new contact.. I don't need to take the business card.. give it to my secretary.. who then puts into into Outlook... I would like to be able to the new or updated contact info right into my Android phone.. then it will sync up to Gmail... and then Gmail will sync it right back down into my Outlook system in the office... 2-way syncing automagically would be great!!!!
Thank you all very much for the tips!!! great forum!!!
I was just looking for something like this yesterday. I am in the process of testing Funambol right now. It seems to be just what I was looking for. I just hope it doesn't eat up battery.
let me know how you like it

you could use this
I previously used some Outlook connector but it was buggy and doesn't sync all info from. Same thing with CSV, not sure if all information is synced. If I recall correctly, there are some limitations on Google's side.
But if you have an Exchange account set-up on the phone, doesn't it intergrate all contacts? Why the need to have them in gmail if intergration takes place on your device?
I do NOT use exchange, and will NOT ever be using Exchange..

Sorry, Outlook for me is fully linked with Exchange... Assumption, the mother of all f#ckups
Right..
So but you must be using some kind of central email server that Outlook is connecting to when your secretarry is filing those businesscards.
MyPhoneExplorer?
CodeTwo Public Folders..
http://www.codetwo.com/public-folders/
it works like an exchange server sorta.. really cool program... takes all the hassle out of setting up and managing an exchange server..
Google Apps Sync for Outlook should work fine for you. I used that and the migration tool when we migrated the company to Google Apps. It should let you specify what you want synced as well.
We did not use Exchange either.

Email issues

Gday Guys,
Just wondered if anyone has had the same issues as i have with the HTC ONE XL (Telstra)?
The email setup facility on this handset gives you the obvious option to set up either yahoo, hotmail, gmail, other...
If you go into the hotmail setup (which i have), it sets up pretty much automatically after you input your username and password in. All good there. It shows my email address as normal, but when you go into it, and try and sync to view your emails, it states no emails present?
Its as if it is not syncing with the hotmail server...
Ive contacted HTC, they gave me 2 answers, the first was that they said there was no issues (useless), and the second guy i got stated they know about this and are going to be producing a patch to fix this issue....(mmmmm)...
I can add my email using the öther" option, and putting in the hotmail pop3 settings and it does accept my email address and even sync, but it will only allow me to sync once every 15 minutes... aarrrggghhhh.... lol..
Ive downloaded the hotmail app for the time being which works syncing my emails (inbox only), however it wont let me access my other folders within my hotmail account....
Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same thing?
Thanks guys... sorry just noticed this is prob in the wrong section... can someone move as it wont let me delete it... grrr
Try setting your email up using IMAP or POP/SMTP. This should bypass any issues specific to your email provider.

Not sure you can add a Hotmail/Live account on an Android to sync it with the phone book.
It's easier just to import your hotmail contacts on your gmail account and start from there

How to import. Kindly help.
I think you actually can sync Hotmail / Windows Live to Android, but I haven't checked. In any case, there are a few ways to do the export/import; one of them is to sign into Hotmail and then find the option to export your contact list to a file. Then, sign into Gmail and find the equivalent option to import the file into your contacts. Any search engine, or the help pages for either site, can tell you how to do this.

He sounds kinda lazy,
anyway I think it is much easier to import everything straight from gmail:
https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#settings/accounts
In my opinion, Android UI is a mess, at least till Gingerbread v. 2.3, which is the most common distribution. Especially for what concern the phone book, you can add Facebook, Whatsapp, Skype, Viber etc accounts (can't find Hotmail account), and link them together (if it works!)
Hotmail contacts got Sync. Thank god. Heaving a sigh of relief. Thanks anyways guys ...

Install Outlook. com app and while entering your ID, make sure you check Sync Contacts option.

That's a rip-off, the original one is on TransferPhone.com
You can use either Gmail or Outlook app to sync contacts between Android and Windows phone.
