Profiles in WM6 and 3.3 AKU's

Just discovered by accident really that the mail account and BT profiles don't dissapear if you can do a hard reset by software rather than a poke up your pda's bottom, for months I have had problems with this, but I installed the arcsoft mms cab which initiates a software 'hard reset' this was the first time I had hard reset my phone since installing smart1's wm6. I was expecting all profiles to dissapear, but......they are all still there.
I would assume this has happened because some registry settings were written to the device on a programmed reset, which are not if you hard reset it with a poke.
So after you have setup all your mail and BT profiles, install the mms cab (or any other program that will allow a reset, and your profiles remain.

You are talking about SOFT RESETS not HARD RESETS!
Soft Reset = Simple reboot
Hard Reset = Wipe to factory defaults, data lost.
But yes, you are correct in stating that a Soft Reset via software keeps all Bluetooth, WiFi, GPRS, MMS, etc intact... I've proven this in the past.

help me please...my wizard is acting really weird

I was running a faria's the real thing for about a month and everything was working great. then, about a week ago it locked up and got stuck on the splash screen after a soft reset. I tried to soft reset several times with the same result. I then hard reset my phone. I worked, but not properly. then I flashed back to tmo 2.26 and back to the real thing and reinstalled my apps. it seemed to work. later that day, I started noticing a lot of calnot.exe and clocknot.exe errors. after a couple of days of this I flashed back to tmo 2.26 and then to crossbow reloaded 1.5 to see if that fixed the errors. I did. now I have other issues though. if I push gthe power button to put my phone to sleep, I cannot turn back on without soft resetting. phone calls won't wake it. calender reminders won't either. i've tried 2.26 and 3.08 ipl/spl and radio 2.19 and 2.40
nothing helps
please help me

Just wondering, what 3rd party apps are you installing?

i'm installing spb time, spb weather, spb diary, and spb mobile shell. i was running all of these for the month before my wizard starting acting up.

Have you installed the latest versions of SPB on the phone? I don't personally use them, but I know that unless you have the latest, they cause a lot of problems with WM6.
In fact, those exact issues you're having have been reported in the Hermes forums. Same solution, make sure you're running the most up-to-date SPB versions.

i downloaded all of the up-to-date versions before reinstalling a couple of nights ago. is there any one of those in particular that might be the problem over the others? my first suspect was spb time because the errors were clocknot.exe and calnot.exe - just an uneducated guess, but i figured that those are related to time and calender fuctions.

Stability issues...Cannot find a long lasting Rom!

Hi guys, I've got a little problem that I need some help with.
Whenever I download and intall any rom on my phone, I use it for a while, maybe a few weeks or sometimes it lasts a month or two (most recently, lasted only a week)....it then freezes up at some point and I have to do a soft reset...sometimes instead of doing a soft reset it does a hard reset on its own....or it even sometimes freezes up on the boot screen and I have no other options but to perform a hard reset.
I'm sick of losing all my data and programs and then having to replace them.
I've tried numerous roms varying from Romeos, Laurentius etc....but I still get the same problem. I haven't had a stable rom since Dutty, but even with his, I would get this problem sometimes.
Any Ideas what I can do, this is getting really really annoying.
My phone spces are:
HTC Kaiser, 3.56 Hardspl (recently updated a month ago), Radio 1.65.24.36.
Apps that I always install:
SBSH Pocketweather, PIM backup, tomtom 6, z2 R2PC client (remote desktop program) and PT Travel alarm.
I sync all my previous emails, notes and call logs with PIM backup, and all of my calendar appointments and contacts I sync using Activesync through my PC.
Any suggestion would be extremely helpful, I'm ready to pull my hair out here....I'm sick of getting stranded having to do a hard reset then coming home and spending two hours fixing my phone to the way I like it,

I don't use any of those programs except TomTom, and even TT is used rarely.
BUT
I do/have used pretty much all the new ROMs and have had no stability problems. Obviously one or more of the programs are disagreeing with with the newer ROMs.
Is it because of wm6.1?
Are you getting the freeze when one of the programs are running?

I had that happen to me too the other day. I'll get the details of the ROM and post in here as soon as I can.

Try the ROM in my signature - never have a lock up. Only turn it off when I fly. Used it since it was released. I use TomTom and several of the others that you say and LOTS of others that I have installed.

The SPB Pocket applications are known to cause headaches with WM 6.1 ROMs. I would suggest running without it installed and see if the problem still occurs.

You think this has anything to do with what hardspl version i'm running? Even when i was running the older hardspl with duttys it still crashed on me once or twice.
As for software, i'm not running any spb programs...the only one i can see maybe causing a problem is pocketweather(by sbsh)...but it's a pretty simple weather app...i sure hope it isn't the cause.
I might have to give that Shogun app a try and see how that goes.

Try removing the weather app. As for HardSPL, the only known issues with running an incorrect/outdated version of it are occasional device freezes that generally last from 1-5 seconds.

I recommend flashing the AT&T OEM recent WM6.1 ROM. I am using it now and have no issues thus far. I also installed all of SPB Suite and Resco Suite, iGO8 and many other programs, NO ISSUES so far.
This ROM has been released and it is posted here on this forum.

Camera not working

My camera appears to have stopped working. I just get the message "Unable to initialize camera. Failed to set up the camera device." I have recently installed Resco file explorer and Vito Winterface. I see from Google that this can happen spontaneously too. I have already uninstalled the programs and done a soft reset. Still the same. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can fix this?

WM6.5 can't change input method

I'm using an Lg KS20 with farahbolsey's WM6.5 rom(build 23071) and after a soft reset I couldn't change my keyboard anymore, I tried uninstalling every keyboard I had, but I can't even change to transcriber does anyone know how I can fix this without doing a hard reset?

Try installing SIPChange and see if you can use the program to force a keyboard after a soft reset.

Doesn't work, anyway I upgraded to 6.5.3 now and I can change keyboards now. Thanks anyway for the help

SOLUTION (That worked for me)
Hi all,
I had the same issue and found a solution that worked for me. It was Opera 10 beta 2. Since I installed that I could still change the SIP but after a soft reset the problem appeared. I could not change to third party SIPs.
So I hard reset the device and installed the apps all over again. After installing Opera and restarting (or soft resetting the device) the problem appeared again.
After uninstalling I could change the SIP immidiatly.
