I have a Touch Cruise version 1.
Is there software that will record timestamped GPS waypoints and store these in a database that can be downloaded via USB, or uploaded at regular intervals?
Thanks,
Harry.
You might try GPSToday (http://www.geoterrestrial.com/). It might be what you're looking for...

I'd like to find some software that lets you add your current GPS coordinates to your Outlook mail signature, anyone ever heard of something like this?
even if it's an alternate email program?
thanks
I know that people in europe have been using the data in SMS to extract GPS (actually Cellphone tower) position. There is somewhere a software I have seen a couple years ago but it didn't work for me in the past.
So, considering the above, it should be possible to extract the GPS position. If you know how to write the program it should be fairly simple. I used WiFiFoFum and it gives you the GPS Position numbers. Maybe you can extract it from that software as you can create an Excel File with GPS positions corresponding with WiFi spots.
Bit of a strange one, but any one aware of a software application that can do the following / alternatively several applications that can do the following.
I working London here in the UK and often need a map book, sat nav, and a client database to hand.
I have a HTC Touch Cruise/Polaris/XDA Orbit 2, so the Sat Nav is sorted, the map's i currently have a map book, but notice google offer some map software for the phone.
What I don't have is a tool that can sync,
I would like for example (let's use google as we all know it) be able to be sat at my PC, running a local version of google maps, be able to add markers and comments regarding customers, perhaps even go into deeper details that you would expect to find in CRM software and then be able to sync up my phone to my PC.
So does anything like this exist?
Is there other map software other than google maps?
Is there any kind of database software that easily sync's with my PC?
any feedback is greatly appreciated
Is there a way to view geotagged photos send though sms (from my htc to someone else's phone) with a map or link to a map at all? If this is only on certain phones using a certain application then I'd be fine with that. I just want some more info on this since I've unlocked the geotag option on my HTC Touch Pro. Thanks

I would bet that sending a picture via SMS/MMS strips out any EXIF as it resizes it etc.
This is a bit roundabout, but perhaps you can upload the pictures to Flickr and they can view it from there? If you have it turned on Flickr, it'll automagically geocode the images if they have GPS tags in them.
TrackMe can also upload photos and the user can see them from the website.
Perhaps someone will have other ideas.
Yea I saw those options but I went with web picasa for the web portion (since it's tied directly to google for gmaps and all). Too bad there doesn't seem to be an app. that can just sms/mms to someone where they can open the pic and have a link directly to the spot on mobile google maps.

Using Cyanogen mod Rom, I used to be able to share my GPS location in the middle of the lake through Google Maps. I tried to do the same with the HOX but the sharing location option is grayed out. It looks like Waypoints are not integrated into Google maps. Anybody knows how to restore the functionality or if I need an app which app?
Thank you
Not sure exactly what you wanted.
If you want record your location/track history and share it through Google Maps, you can use Google's 'My Track' app.
If you want to share your current location to your friend, sign in to Google Latitude.
when you are in a remote place, Google maps need to use waypoints or coordinates to share your exact location. In the middle of the lake, I was able to click on my GPS location get the coordinates and share them through a text message. It was easy
My tracks or latitude is not what I am looking for.
That must be some kind of Labs add-in for the GMap which is no longer available.
The Laitude reports your coordinates as well periodically. If your friends have Gmaps, it can show your location based on your reported coordinates. But if they have to use anything else, of course it won't work.
Hello!
I'v already searched for that kind of apps, but didnt find any of that type.
Application that will transmit my location to a webpage, with my current location, speed (Instamapper), and with camera feature?
So I'm asking for an application that would also transmit camera so website visitors can see driving?
Thanks
I think Glympse has all that, except the camera thing. However, Ustream has the video streaming. So I guess you would open Glympse first, share to... I don't know. You might have to set this up before you drive, or have a partner set up the web page, share to email and email them. Then have Glympse track you for however long... then open Ustream, start streaming, email the link, set the phone up as a dash camera with whatever hardware mount you have... and go.
