Help gps waypoints sharing google maps - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Using Cyanogen mod Rom, I used to be able to share my GPS location in the middle of the lake through Google Maps. I tried to do the same with the HOX but the sharing location option is grayed out. It looks like Waypoints are not integrated into Google maps. Anybody knows how to restore the functionality or if I need an app which app?
Thank you

Not sure exactly what you wanted.
If you want record your location/track history and share it through Google Maps, you can use Google's 'My Track' app.
If you want to share your current location to your friend, sign in to Google Latitude.

when you are in a remote place, Google maps need to use waypoints or coordinates to share your exact location. In the middle of the lake, I was able to click on my GPS location get the coordinates and share them through a text message. It was easy
My tracks or latitude is not what I am looking for.

That must be some kind of Labs add-in for the GMap which is no longer available.
The Laitude reports your coordinates as well periodically. If your friends have Gmaps, it can show your location based on your reported coordinates. But if they have to use anything else, of course it won't work.

hello.
I have a diamond and i'm wondering if there is a software that i can install in my phone that send constantly the location of the phone to a server
what i want to see is the location of the phone in google maps or something like that... like 007 style
or that some one in a computer can see my location in a map
sorry for my english
So you mean something like Google Latitude?
http://www.google.com/latitude/intro.html
It's an application you can install on your phone and it uses the GPRS/3G data link to send your location to selected friends. You can choose whether to send to individuals by exact location, general city location or not to send your location at all.
Google Maps for Windows Mobile already shows your exact location if you have a GPRS/3G data link and a GPS enabled phone. It's very James Bond... maybe not as fancy looking, but definitely impressive for showing off.
was promising but
it says
The Latitude iGoogle gadget is not currently available for your location
You can still download Google Maps with Latitude to your phone
so i only can use it in the phone but not the pc
Right, this is how you do it.
Download Google Maps for Windows Mobile from here...
http://www.google.com/gmm/GoogleMaps.CAB
Install that onto your Diamond.
Start > Programs > Google Maps
Click Menu then Latitude.
You need a Google login to make it work.
Click on Add Friends to add someone (using their Google login name).
You can now specify whether to share your location with them at an exact or city level.
Your friend can log into iGoogle with their login on their home PC and see your location on a mini map on screen.

GPS app to tag locations?

I saw a couple of apps awhile ago where you could tag your location (the gps would look up where you are) on a map, and then keep a record of those places. So if you go to somewhere cool but you don't know the address, you could mark it on the map and you'd be able to navigate to it later. Does anyone know the name of this app? I can't seem to find it now.
I know that the combination of Compass and 3Banana notes will let you keep geo-tagged notes. Can't you save locations as Google Maps favorites in later versions of Android?
The quickest is to open Maps, and when it locates you tap the little My Location dot or arrow. Tap the bubble that pops up. On the next screen tap the star. Now it's been added to the Starred Items on your Google account.
You can also from the same screen press "Share" and send the link to Gmail, 3banana, Twitter, etc.

Click to collapse
+1 wanted to post the same. Theres also a widget that displays your lat/long/addr with the ability to share it
you could also use the GPS Status app. you can mark locations, share them and let it show on the map. also, it's free on the market
Thanks for the GPS Status link.
And thanks for the tips on Google Maps, I didn't know you could do it straight from there! The only problem is I don't see a way to name your starred places, so you just have a list with a bunch of addresses and you might not remember what's what.

App idea : Waypoints and custom route integration to Google Navigation

Since google navigation doesn’t allow us to enter way points or custom routs I’m wondering if it is possible to develop an app that can add these features externally.
Right now I use manual way points, for example I have saved one or more addresses for certain contacts (Address, Waypoint 1, Waypoint2 etc..). When I start navigating I use one of those intermediate addresses instead of the destination, and when I come close to the first intermediate address (waypoint) I select the next waypoint manually and re-launch google navigation. But its so tedious, so I’m wondering if someone can develop an app that can automate this process.
Ideally these are the requirements:
Ability to read in multiple addresses as waypoints from a contact OR
Ability to manually enter start, destination and multiple waypoints and save a set of waypoints as a route
Feed in the waypoints sequentially to Google Maps/Navigation automatically when each waypoint is reached
Hi Phoenix, yes it has been years since you wrote this post. I hope you have already found an app that does what you need.
But if you haven't found an app that does what you are looking for, please have a look at the geo Location Marker app of google play store (Link : goo.gl/Z2Vj4d). It is not exactly what you are looking for, but somewhat similar.
You can save directions from google maps as way-points and use them offline. To save directions as way-points, open directions in google maps app, select share directions from the options menu, and choose geo Location Marker. The app will read google maps URL and save the rout as a list of way-points. These can be used for navigation with a simple compass and distance scale in the app.
Hope you like it :good:

[Looking for app] RealTime GPS Tracking?

Hello!
I'v already searched for that kind of apps, but didnt find any of that type.
Application that will transmit my location to a webpage, with my current location, speed (Instamapper), and with camera feature?
So I'm asking for an application that would also transmit camera so website visitors can see driving?
Thanks
I think Glympse has all that, except the camera thing. However, Ustream has the video streaming. So I guess you would open Glympse first, share to... I don't know. You might have to set this up before you drive, or have a partner set up the web page, share to email and email them. Then have Glympse track you for however long... then open Ustream, start streaming, email the link, set the phone up as a dash camera with whatever hardware mount you have... and go.

Enhance google location history (frequency)

I'm using google location history to track my kid's phones. I'd like to increase how often it checks the location. Is there any easy way to do this? If not, if I setup a tasker task to check the gps location every X period, would that automatically trigger google to store the location history?
