Database Info

Question:USA ROM to be used in the Philippines (900/1800/3g)

im sorry if this has been discussed before but I tried SEARCH button and Im having problem connecting to the database. I also browse on some thread and I didn't see an answer to my query.
So here it goes...
I got an IMate Jam from the US (Band 850/1800/1900).
1.) Is it possible to install non USA ROM like O2 Asia, Qtek or iMate WWE? Because when I tried to install the WWE version it says incompatible device (not the country error). Should I just follow the procedure from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=MagicianRomUpgrade and everything will be fine?
2.) If ever that procedure will solve the problem.. will the band be changed to 900/1800/1900? (or is this a hardware thingy?).
2.a If it will not change the band, how bad will the signal be on a country that uses 900/1800?
2.b If it will change the band, will the reception be better?

No Service when upgraded to WM5 Himalya

hey,
i upgraded to WM5 3.20 Rom 1.08 and tried 1.18 1.19 from 2003SE
now its been loaded n stuff but it cant register onto any service...it shows list of service providers available, but doesnt register
also i can receive text messages. but thats about it.
i am using Orange in India.

Have you try to set the "Preferred networks:" yet?

I have Similar problem too
The same problem is wid me i upgraded to c_shekhar released 3.2 rom and now i cannot register to any service wether manually automaticaalyy or via preferred networks.....
my service too is hutch(orange) in India

Sorry guys for being late. Was away for few days... It is strange that you are not able to register onto any network!!!! Which radio ROM are you having on your device????

Hi, just tested. I do not have any problem to connect to office LAN system to surf the internet.

Guysss ... mine was solved ... this is what I do. I tried flashing with higher Radio ROM --> not working. Tried re-installed ROM --> not working ... guess what ... tried using my friend's SIM Card from different provider than mine ... suddenly the signal back on ! Changed back my SIM Card and the signal was there ... maybe you guys could do this ... there's no harm in doing it ... if your problem is exactly the same as mine ... good luck ...

Totally messed up, need help urgent

Hi.
I bought a MDA pro (qtek 9000 etc)./
But it is totally messed up by the previous owner. I tried to install windows mobile english (it has windows mobile 6.1 german). But it says it isnt the right software for the device. And the phone function doesnt work.
Can someone please help me with how i can make my phone function work and change the language to english (german is the only installed version).
Specs:
3G
Unlocked.
Please, who can help me???

Who is familiair with the error and knows a solution?

ERROR 114?
Do you receive a "error 114" when loading a radio ROM? I've had the "NO GSM", "ERROR 114" since 2005 on my XDA Exec. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a solution. There is some info. on this error that can be found, but not much, and no success stories...SORRY...However, I'd be forever grateful if you did discover a fix and I'm sure others would be too; if you shared it. Good Luck!!

u can ask for a solution through MTTY .. maybe someone can help u format the radio rom and reflash it or something
i'm no expert, but i think some expert can give u a code to use in MTTY to do that

GPRS/HSPDA settings for o2 uk Contract

Before i flash my device to a rom from here i was jsut wondereing where i could find the data settings for o2 uk, i have found several posts on it http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=13498 but the post is very old and i am not sure if the setting are still the same or if it will still work properly!

You could always try the O2 site to send the settings to your phone after you've flashed your ROM.

Or you could use the settings from this posting here. It'll work for any WinMo device on O2.

No network after flash

Hello, I'm new in this forum, I have a problem with my LG KS20 SFR France, everything was OK till I tried to upgrade my wm 6 to 6.5, so I had after the reset the message (illegal use) (unavailable otp block) I solved the problem by restoring my old wm 6.5 but the problem is that my mobile doesn't recognize any network wether manually or automatically I'm afraid that I can't repair it, What do you suggest me?
