Hi All,
I am using internet telephony on my PC and I am curious whether anybody knows whether it is possible to use my MDA compact (or any other PocketPC device) as a remote phone set via bluetooth. Would be nice to walk around the PC doing a phone call through the internet.
If somebody knows, can you let me know how?
Thanks,
Lars
if you have the wifi card and use the program skype you can do ut
I don't want to use WiFi.
I would like to use a Bluetooth connection between my MDA compact and my (host) PC which has an internet connection. Basically, my MDA compact should work like a "Bluetooth headset" for my PC.
Lars
i'm not sure if the ms bluetooth stack support that profile
maybe the vidcomm does ?
Is it possible to put the Widcom stack on my MDA compact??
HI all,
I'm experiencing the following problem with my Cruise.
When having the Cruise connected to my PC through USB cable (Activesync on), mobile applications other than IE cannot access the Internet.
My configuration is:
on ActiveSync
my computer is connected to: "work network"
on the Cruise
start > parameters > connections > connections
advanced tab > network selection is set to work network for both types of networks
proxy configuration on the other tab is the correct one for my network
The only application on the Cruise capable of connecting the Internet with this configuration is IE: when starting, it asks for proxy username & password and pages are loaded correctly.
Any other application (the HTC today screen, when looking for the meteo data, Opera, QuickGPS...) do not arrive to connect the Internet falling in timeout (no request for proxy authentication).
Of course, at home (ActiveSync configured as connected to the Internet) everything work fine and all applications connect to the Internet w/o problems.
Any idea?
Thanks
Hi all.... ive got pretty much the problem? Any solutions guys??
Pretty much same here, except for QuickGPS... it manages to connect somehow.
it works for me, but without proxy...
Maybe this would help you?
Hey Wis38!
Just try to open the following ports ins your proxy:
990 (RAPI)
999 (Status)
5721 (DTPT)
5678 (Legacy Replication)
5679 (Handshake & Legacy Replication)
26675 (Airsync)
For further informations try the MS kb259369 and kb904667.
btw, good luck
Frank
Yeah, thanks.
But I'm not proxy administrator, and can't open those ports...
Any other ideas?
Ask your admin
Hmm...
I think then you have to ask aour admin...
Frank
try this
I had the same problem
you can try this

How can I use my Polaris like USB modem to connect Notebook on internet.
Is there some application or something like that?
Thanks.
try this one
on your device, go to start menu > programs > internet sharing
choose which connection you want to use (USB or BT) then press connect
if you choose USB, plug the USB cable to both PC and device immediately after connetion established.
if you choose BT (you have to make sure that your device have been paired to the computer), connect to your device through BT network access
in internet sharing mode, all activesync connection will be disconnected
there is a registry hack for windows to fix this issue, but normally the issue also effects syncing. But the bad news is that itsmore then likley that your network admin has locked down this type of access.
only IE keeps working via proxy.
Other 3rd party apps seem to prefer a direct connection ignorinng how windows settings are actually used to reach the Internet
I have exactly the same problem: IE can reach the Internet via the proxy in our work network and other apps like QuickGPS cannot.
Strangely enough this happens only with my HTC Touch cruise and does not happen with my Fujitsu Loox N560, which has exactly the same settings.
I have to note that I upgraded recently to WM 6.1 on the TC and that with WM6 it used to work
Any ideas
same problem for me... (qtek S200 & win 6.1)
Hello guys,
I was just wondering: I have a network provider that offers me internet only through a proxy and there are several applications that I use that cannot be set up to work that way. Is there any application developed for windows mobile (htc touch cruise in my case) that will act as a proxyfier, as in forcing all connections to go through the proxy?
Thanks for your help.
Hope the title says everything about my problem.
HTC P3452 (ELFIN) using a custom 6.1 ROM(with the default MS BT stack)
Windows XP Professional SP3 using Widcomm BT stack
UTSTARCOM router to connect to the internet.
My problem:
I want to use bluetooth as the primary medium of connection between PC and PPC .
By 'connection'; I only mean efficient file sharing and internet connection sharing (only from PC to PPC; not the other way round; 'cause I don't have a GPRS/EDGE data plan on my PPC)
MS Activesync does both of these (but not very efficiently) , and there are a lot tutorials on how to connect PC and PPC using Bluetooth and then sync them using Activesync. But as everyone knows, being the crappiest software ever Activesync often auto-disconnects, even if the PC and PPC are still connected by bluetooth .
Using the ready-made solutions provided by the Widcomm Software, it's very easy to share files, as the MS stack supports FTP.
The Widcomm software also offers a service named "My network access" and creates a Bluetooth LAN connection on PC; and those were supposed to be able to establish a LAN connection between PC and PPC over Bluetooth, but it doesn't .
(The MS BT stack of Windows Mobile doesn't enable PAN by default. I used a hack by some user of this forum (wm6btpan) . But that doesn't seem to solve the problem either, although it enables me to use my PPC as a remote control.. )
So at this point, I need your help in establishing the connection between the PC and PPC so that the PPC can use PC's internet connection. For the last 1.5 days I have searched nearly hundreds of resources but nowhere found a complete solution working for a HTC Touch. If , with your help ,I can get my setup going, then I promise to put up a full fledged tutorial on how to do this...
Hoping early response..

read this?
as I ve already written , I 've already gone through hundreds of threads in different forums, and it was definitely one of them.. the last few instructions
are..
# Tap the Bluetooth icon and tap the link saying Bluetooth Manager.
# Tap the starred Bluetooth icon.
# Tap the Join a personal network.
# Select Join a personal network option and tap Next.
# After your Connection Wizard sees your computer, select it and select Finish so that your HTC Creates a shortcut for this connection named Network with '?InsertYourComputersNameHere'. Please note that there is no need for a secure/encrypted connection.
# Double tap or hold and select Connect to the Network with '?InsertYourComputersNameHere' to make a connection with your access point.
# At this point or later, your HTC will ask you if this connection is a Work or Internet connection. I have chosen this as my Work connection.
But in HTC TOUCH there is no "bluetooth manager" or "join a personal network option" (probably they were in WM5). So this wiki doesn't help much..
anyway thanks for your response.
no one else interested ?
hey.. forum veterans.. please respond...
still no one ?
forum mod, can u please move it to the elfin forum ?
Hi,
I have an HTC Fuze. Could someone recommend a WM application that has the same functionality as Psiloc Connect?
Psiloc Connect (from what I understand) manages your connections and automatically switches you between 3G/WiFi/GPRS etc based on the best type of available network.
Thanks,
Kurt
