RE: Tethering the Fuze Wifi + USB - Touch Pro, Fuze General

RE: Tethering the Fuze Wifi + USB
Is there anyway to tether the Fuze acting as a WIFI router to then connect via USB to my PC?
Wifi signal > to the FUZE > USB cord connect via Internet Sharing W/O using data plan> to my PC >
Benefits are I wont have to use my data data when tethering or have to buyt a usb wifi card.
Thanks!!!

im fairly sure this app has what you want.

First, I do not know the answer to your question.
Second, for the $28.00 USd you'll spend on that software, I'll bet you can get a USB wifi stick.
Third, You have a $400 phone........

Thanks for the tips guys... I just got a new spot and would prefer to not abuse my 5 gig data limit while we buy everything else....

Yea this app does exactly what your asking and pretty well (I did the trial). I wish there was free alternative because the wifi to usb is the only part i'm interested in.

[Q] Wifi

Hello all, i want to have access to wifi at work (dads bakery) there is no wifi signal there, is there other alternatives to have access to wifi? im not familiar with this things do i have to buy something portable to have it i do have 3g with t-mobile on my phone.
not sure what type of phone you have, but you can tether your "phone internet" to your transformer.
i just did it while on a road trip from my wife's old Palm treo Pro i connected via bluetooth tether
If you have an android phone, you can try to use the Bluetooth tethering option, which doesn't require rooting the phone. If you do a search on the forums, someone made a nice step by step guide for it. The bluetooth option never worked for me so I had to end up rooting my phone and then downloading wifi tether. Downside is it makes your phone really hot and can cause it to crash or turn off. I'm super ghetto so I have the back case off my phone leaned up against a fan hahahahaha....keeps it at a nice 79 degrees instead of 110 degrees.
I'm not an expert at these things either, I just looked for guides on this forum and also youtube. Took me a couple of days to get it all working. Goodluck!
You could try a wireless 'hotspot' from one of the wireless broadband providers too.

Does your dad's bakery have internet at all? If he has broadband there you could just setup a wireless router.

Depends on how much you use your TF for that purpose but 200MB is very little. Becareful about getting charged overages.

[Q] Portable WIFI Hotspot - no pass through

Hi All,
I have the stock rom from Orange on my HTC Sensation and when using the portable WIFI Hotspot, my laptop see's the phone and connects when I input the key, but doesn't seem to use phone's 3g for internet.
Whilst laptop is connected to phone, I can still get the internet on the phone so I know the 3g is working, but still no internet on laptop????
Has anyone else tried using their phone as a portable wifi hotspot on their Sensation and say a laptop for internet?
Any help would be appreciated,
Juice

yes it works on my tmobile us but i have tethering in my plan, maybe thats why its not working. On my girlfriend phone she tried it and tmobile block the feature because she didn`t have a tethering plan they let you use it at first then the block it, they did it to me.I called and found out that they will block it after awhile if you dont call in and get the plan some rep told me somtimes they just add it to your next bill if they see that your using internet sharing wich is tethering.

Sharing my wifi through USB

Hi,
I'm trying to find a program that would let me tether my own wifi (not my cell data) through USB, because my wireless card is having trouble on my laptop.
So: WiFi access point --> Nexus S --> USB cable --> laptop = happy customer
Sharing my cell data is pretty hectic when I'm in the basement so it's a no go. BTW I'm rooted stock everything. If a ROM has this incorporated i'd be happy, but an app would be better.
Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
I'm pretty sure that all roms include a feature called USB Tethering, which does what you're seeking for.
Try Setting / Wireless and Networks / Tethering & portable hotspot
Well the USB tethering from the stock ROM is sharing my cellular data which isn't what I'm looking for. I want to share the wifi my phone is connected to.

Stock G2x with GB wireless tethering just stopped working

i've been using the stock wireless tethering setting to use phone as a hotspot (without the tethering plan) for my Iconia and PS3 for when i have to pull a 24hr duty at work. was working ok this morning, but i had to reboot my phone and my Iconia cause they were both acting slow. after that when i try to tether it will connect but cant do anything that requires internet. anyone know what might be the problem (besides not having the tethering plan, although never had it in the past). thanks for the help.

You may have gone over your 2 or 5 gig cap and are being throttled.
You've probably been throttled. When you go over your limit, it's practically unusable.

[Q] Tether phone to computer using phones wifi?

This probably seems like a silly idea and I may not be able to get my point across directly.
I want to use a cell phone as a WiFi dongle using my home WiFi to connect my wifi'cardless computer to the internet.
Clarification: not looking for a link to tethering, WiFi hotspot 101 threads.
They sell usb WiFi dongles at best buy for $15 but I was wondering if there was a way to get my phone to do the same thing.
Thanks in advance for the inevitable tethering/WiFi hotspot guide links.

I don't this this would be feasible. Since your PC does not have wifi, the phone would need to emulate a Wifi dongle, which is not trivial and possibly not feasible. :good:
