hi guys im still a n00b with android so this may be a seriously dumb q, with a rooted magic/sapphire/ion do you think we will ever get to see a hero rom on our handsets, official or otherwise, will the os interface be upgraded to this in the future or do you think it will stay at the interface we have now with addon bits like cupcake and donut. I personally would love to see the hero rom interface here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRX5N5bte68, will it ever happen?
Regarding the fact that haykuro desided to leave, have big doubts.
We surely will have a Rosie Gui for our Magic...
we just have to wait

ok so here's the thing, i have an upgrade on sprint and am deciding between the touch pro 2, the hero and the samsung moment. the only reason i really like the hero is because of sense. but if if someone here knows how to get sense on the moment i would snap it up immediately.
however the touch pro 2 looks amazing with the big screen and that awesome keyboard. not to mention i looked around on the forums last couple of days and have seen all the crazy stuff for windows mobile with cooked roms and stuff. not to mention u guys have android on WM so yeah.
i'm coming from a pre, and was part of the first homebrewers so i doubt i'll have to much trouble with modding or rooting the WM or android phones. i dealt with alot of coding with the pre and it was a bit of a pain but enlightening.
so i'm just wondering what u TP2 and Hero users have to say. and if anybody can answer about getting sense ui on the moment that would be great.
tl;dr what should i get Hero, TP2 or Moment.

My advice...
Drop the Moment...
Go with a TP2. They are working on porting Android for this and will not be long before you can see a port with Sense on the TP2 (if there isn't one already).
Hope this helps.
so any other responses? or opinions.
Go for the TP2 which as mentioned has many cool stuff & more in development. Very reliable with a nice screen!
But if U want the cool Android stuff now, then of course it's the Hero...
so about the TP2 does it run sense like the hd2 or touchflo? and where do i go to get all the cool stuff for it, anywhere specific.
You can find tons of info & answers in the rhodium section:

I have a TP2 on Verizon. It's running the Verizon release of Windows Mobile 6.5 and I use the Touch Flo interface.
I used to flash my Treo WX to homebrew ROMs, so I understand the process, but I"m having a hard time finding what I believe to be the most current release of the HTC interface (Sense 2.5.x?) and the best (probably boils down to opinion from what I can tell), but I'm really lookoing for a good stripped down ROM without any verizon extras, running the newest release of the HTC interface.
There's just so many options, I can't tell what to get and what to package with what. Can anyone lend me a hand?
Juicy rom is a nice 2.5 rom. Also people really tend to like the Energy roms, I believe energy leo is the energy rom you want to download, not pheonix.
Check them out over here:

yep, leo is the CDMA rom, its the one i use on my sprint TP2
its just been updated to include sense 2.5.2012

Thanks people. This was what i needed. The Energy ROM post had the instructions i was looking for.
Somewhat recently team XDANDROID released an Android build for WM. However these ROM's only work with the HTC devices they were intended to work on.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=601751
For those of us without an HTC device, I was wondering if it would be possible to create a universal ROM for designated screen sizes (one for qvga, one for vga, etc) and have them work on devices that are powerful enough, with the appropriate resolution. Or do you just have to create one for each phone?
I personally own a Samsung Epix (i907), and I am extremely disappointed in Samsung's job of porting WM, and releasing the 6.5 update (it was supposed to come out in December, it keeps getting delayed. They did this with the Blackjack II when 6.0 came out) and am not a huge fan of the available ROM.
If not, is there a possible workaround to let me use android on my device? Like an emulator of some sorts? All m searches have turned up nothing useful.
Well.. Making a universal ROM would be extremely difficult, and a HUGE ROM.. Because you'll need drivers for every device then..
Yea TheDeadCpue is right. That would be too much... I know how you feel because I own an i907 as my main phone and im very disappointed in the rom developments. Hopefully we receive our official one this month and we might have a new cook making rooms for us next month!
Just waiting for a Andriod ROM for the HD2!
Howdy developers,
I'm very new to this modding community and understand no modding slang =[
I have a Vodafone HTC Magic and my friend has a HTC Magic with 3.
His Magic has a sense UI update and has lots of cool applications etc that I cannot get. Has anyone created an android 1.6 OS with sense UI? or anything similiar?
Thanks!
The Vodafone branded magic is the same as the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G (32B).
Any of the ROMS marked [32B] in these fora should run fine on your phone.
Be wary of the different radio and SPL versions required.
There's heaps of information around and most of the people on here are very helpful and friendly.
Good luck and happy modding!
Hmmm mine is vodafone branded, but it-s a 32A Magic!
Check the box, it should tell you what kind of phone do you have.
First, start by knowing what kind of phone do you have, and work youre way up. The pieces will fall like in a puzzle, and pretty soon you will know how to root, change a radio, flash a rom, etc...
Best of luck!

start phone while pressing back+power and give people the infomation you see on the fastboot screen
It also sounds like he is running 1.6 which doesn't have Sense. For sense you'll need either a 1.5 or 2.1 with sense. Sense is nice but I'd rather use 1.6 than a 1.5 but if you really want it then I've had good results using Cursorsense. A 2.1 rom might not be stable or fast enough yet.
check your vodafone site, in portugal was already released the new version ROM with sense ui.
Hello
Im new here, so excuse me if i posted in the wrong section.
Im failing at taking a decision between these two
I know that hero has better specs, but ii think that you can mod the G1 more.
is there also alot of hacking and modding aviable for the Hero?
If so, what do you guys think about the hero? Is it really a "hero"?
-Thanks :3
Hero
The Hero has better specs. I personally would get the Hero since it not only has more RAM, but Sense UI on top of that. I do advise you to think about the keyboard on the G1 cause I sure miss my G1 keyboard. I'm about ready to throw my MyTouch out the window if it misspells my words one more time :/
Go for the Hero. I have a G1 right now, its fun to mod it to get better performance. The G1 just doesn't have enough memory. Personally I think its time t-mobile stops selling the G1. The low memory quickly becomes a pain.
thanks for the answers guys, but does the hero have enough modding available?
