Alarm problem - HTC Vox

Hey
My s710 has developed a funny problem. The alarm seems to go off at 8:10am every morning. The alarm sound plays for 3 loops and then goes silent automatically, just leaving "alarm" written on the screen.
I have never installed any 3rd party alarm software or anything....this is the inbuilt alarm acting up. Changing the alarm time and all doesn't help. I tried changing the alarm time to 8:10 and then changing it again and restarting....still messed up (actually after doing this 2 overlapping alarms sound simultaneously now).
I'm using the latest official ROM from the HTC website:
WinMo 6 standard, CE OS 5.2.1622 (build 18128.0.4.4)
Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure a fresh ROM install is the easiest fix, but I'd like to avoid that.
Thanks in advance

Search for sktools (skkvsoftware.com) and clean up your notification queue.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I've done what you said and deleted the couple of entries that looked like they were the ones setting it off (there were also tons of duplicate entries in there that needed cleaning).
I won't know if this has worked till 8.10am tomorrow morning....fingers crossed.
Thanks again.

Resolved
Worked like a charm dude. thanks a lot.

WM5 Alarm problems on WM6 too?

Hi,
so WM6 has been around for a while...are you using the alarm and if so, is it reliable? WM5 had serious problems with it (standby etc.). I would like to use my Wizard to wake me up, put with WM5 it was just not possible.
Yes! your problem is still a problem in WM6..
just use other alarm apps.. mine is the WAtch and WAke.. "WAWA"..
Whe is everione sayng that is not possible, to put WM6 on XDA II Mini, S100, bla bla when i have seen one on youtube and others in many places???
Hmm, i've been using alarm on mine for a while, been working fine, i usually have it plugged in overnight though (why wouldn't ya?).
I've only had minor issues with the alarm in WM6, started happening about 2 months after upgrading. No matter how often I changed the 3 set alarm times, they would always get stuck somewhere(in the registry perhaps? never worked out where it stores the alarm times...) and go off at the original time AS WELL as the new time that I had set. A hard reset fixed that problem - I guess it just got a little bugged out after prolonged use.
Other than that, I've had no issues with the alarm, fairly reliable. I too leave my phone (i-Mate K-JAM) plugged in overnight.
Hi,
in WM5 my problems was follow: somtimes got's alarms although there are deaktivated, but the most time are no problems. (Problem: the wizard ignore somtime the deaktivation of alarm)
This alarm-problems was a problem of the notifications queue! the alarm-problems can repair/fix whit the program "MemMaid" from DinarSoft: => delete alarm-entrys in notifications queue. => "windows\clock.exe"
In WM6 or 6.1 i no observate alarm-problems.

Alarm wont stop occurring

I have Gonzo's latest version (6.1) running on my Vox.
I enabled "Alarm 1" to occurr every weekday. It worked great for over a month. I have since changed the time of Alarm 1 from 6 AM to 7AM. However, Alarm 1 now goes off at BOTH 6 and 7 o'clock. I've restarted the phone, which did not fix the problem.
Setting the Alarm to Off only eliminates the new 7 AM alarm. It's like the 6 AM alarm won't get deleted for some reason.
Any insight would be much appreciated!
Thanks
getting the same problem in all the roms i tried including the OEM form HTC
yeah it's really a pain in the @$$... I don't want to reflash it again.. especially if i'm not positive that will fix the issue

[Q] Calendar Alarm don't work, stock ROM

Hello Guys,
I'm new to this forum but an old member from the IPAQ Hx4700 good times.
Here's the issue and I don't know if others experienced the same.
When I set an alarm into the built in Calendar, the alarm won't wake the device.
Even more strange, when I wake it from sleep, the time showed is like it was when the device went into sleep. It takes about a minute to refresh. Looks like the internal clock is stopping when going into sleep???
I think this is why the alarm doesn't come on, because the clock is not moving on?
Any ideas, do you experienced the same?
BTW, I talked to Viewsonic support today and a some new patch and enhencement are coming in 2 - 3 weeks.
Thanks for helping.
Charles

Alarm doesn't work

Hi everyone,
I have looked the other threads about problems with the alarm but:
- none of the problems are similar the one that I'm having
- they are not problems for LG O3D handset or any other LG phone
- the solutions that I tried from those threads didn't work.
So that is the reason that I'm creating a new thread.
My problem with the alarm is that it doesn't go off on the time that I have scheduled it.
On the first day it start to ring after 10min of the scheduled time and on the second day after 9min.
Third day doing some testing it started to work after 20min and in another test it started only after I unlocked the screen.
So it's some pretty random and I'm not able to find the solution for it.
I had the Task Killer and removed it completely but, still no luck.
The things that I have now and I'm starting to think might be the cause of this problem is some Snes, Arcade and N64 roms that I have installed and a Live Wallpaper.
Those might be the cause for problem while they are working with the Alarm, but I really don't know.
Does anyone had or have the same problem? any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Jeff

Stock clock/alarm app, alarm notification icon keeps disappearing.

Just starting noticing that my alarm notification icon randomly appears and dissappear even though I have an active alarm set. Haven't flashed anything lately and previously the icon was always there until the weekend when I don't have it set.
Anyone else happen to notice this?

Yeah it happens to me all the time. I'm running CM11 on my Nexus 5. I've been digging, trying to figure it out, but nothing yet.
I've seen this happen at least since ICS on the Gnex

any of you happen to use the Carbon twitter app? I have a hunch this app is causing the icon disappearing issue.
I've temporarily uninstalled carbon to test my theory.
Carbon recently updated their app and it does some 'hiding' of notification bar icons when it goes full screen. Might be related - or might be nothing at all.
For me, the disappearing alarm icon only started in the past 2 days or so.
No carbon twitter app for me but I did recently install the Timely app, wonder if that has anything to do with this or just a coincidence.
uninstalling carbon wasn't the root-cause; alarm icon disappeared again.
i did install timely within the past week ... i've since un-installed and still get the disappearing alarm icon.
Same here. Timely. I was thinking it might have to do with Timely's syncing, but that's completely untested.

When u uninstall timely do u still have the disappearing alarm icon via the stock clock app? I can't figure this out.

I found a post on reddit that talked about the Timely app ... and that if you uninstall Timely but still had an active alarm, it will cause issues with the alarm icon with the stock app. So I re-installed Timely ... and sure enough, I had an alarm still 'active'. I deleted that alarm and uninstalled Timely - but still have the issues with the stock alarm icon disappearing.
There's a thread going in the google product forums on this same issue: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/nexus/oWxThT1ZPd0/IkdLlmB110IJ
Seems no one can figure out the root cause / fix.
Even I get this issue. In my previous phone too (having JB 4.1), this used to happen with default alarm as well as alarm clock plus.
Now I have cataclysm in my Nexus 5 and using Timely. Same happens here too.
I noticed this when I had Timely installed and even when I turned to alarm in it off it still made it disappear. I would suggest if you have any time or other app as such remove them and see if the issue continues.
I uninstalled Timely and it works as it should now.
Hope it helps.

I had this exact same problem with Timely installed. I uninstalled Timely and my alarm clock notification no longer disappears and reappears.
I hope this works for you.
I have the same problem (stock, un-rooted Nexus 5). What I've seen too is that it only disappears if I'm connected to WiFi. If I'm connected to T-Mobile's network, then the alarm notification displays just fine. But shortly after it connects to a WiFi network, the icon disappears.
In some of the Google support forums, a guy with the issue root-caused it back to the latest version of the Pandora App. Seems that ever since Pandora added alarm clock / wake-up functionality, it conflicts with the stock alarm icon.
I uninstalled Pandora a few days ago ... and my alarm icon is back to behaving normally.
i have the same issue with the icon... i do have timely... but it doesnt conflict with the app actually working... my alarms always go off even tho icon is not visible

My alarm icons only appear exactly two hours before the alarm is set to go off.
