Well I just got my At&t Fuze like 3-4 days ago. For some reason it randomly loses connection to the network, so I can make call or use the internet. I'll have to go back to setting- communication to turn off my phone turn it back on then turn on the data connection. I'm really tiring of it happening over and over again. Does anyone else have this problem? And are there any ways to fix it? Thanks
No one has any idea??
Are you still running the stock ROM? If so, GET RID OF IT!!!!
In all seriousness: Have you installed any applications? Have you modified TouchFLO 3D? You can always try a hard reset and see if the problem persists.
It's possibly a problem with AT&T's network. I've noticed that my 3G speeds are incredibly slow lately and others on hofo have had this issue as well. I would advise you to wait it out.
forp me it says i get 3g,edge, or G and i will cant connect sometimes.
I also have this issue. Sometimes it happens after a soft reset or for no reason at all. It is easy to fix as i just turn data back on but I don't know why it is happening.
I actually tried a hard reset reset and it didn't work so then I brought it back to At&t and the guy there fixed it for me. He said it was because the data connection was off so then I thought maybe I accidentally turned it off, but the problem persist after.
Yes, I am still running under stock rom, I installed google map, beejive, and some other that I don't think will cause this problem. I am afraid to flash because I already have a lot of contact info set in and data and would have to re-do everything.
I was hoping maybe someone would have a solution for this. I don't think running on stock rom would cause this.....
Any help would be great. Thanks
I just flash it to NATF's rom and it's working really well right now. I hope the problem will not appear again. Again thanks for the rom NATF
I now get it often that there is a problem with the GPRS in your area. Also there are times that the phone is not even connected. It is getting to be a pain but will try calling AT&T and find out
Even after installing a new rom the problem still continue. I tried going into an At&t store and ask, but they have no clue. I don't have time to call 611 right now, but will update with what they say when I do. It starts to get really annoying....

It's probably a network issue.
Regarding flashing, I suggest you back up your contacts with outlook. Even if the problem has nothing to do with software, you're missing out quite a bit in terms of speed. Besides, you should back up your contacts regardless. Don't trust windows mobile too much
OK, sounds like I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. I think the only thing that's different for me is that when I lose the data connection, I also lose voice. The first time it happened, it said my SIM was unprovisioned. When I called customer service, they didn't know beyond checking for network outages in my area.
Fuze_tactic & Tribalmunky
I thing both of your problems -- intermittently dropping the data connection for Fuze_tactic, and intermittently dropping the voice and data connection for Tribalmunky -- could be caused by the Long Press End button setting. Go to Start/Settings/System/LongPressEndKey to see what I'm talking about. There is one setting for Airplane mode, which would kill voice and data, and another for killing just the data connection. Try changing the long end key press to Set Vibrate/Ringer and see if that cures your issue(s). If you are occasionally long pressing the end key, your should develop a problem with intermittently losing your ringer.

No, I've checked that. It happened once when it was just charging, no where near my hands or anything that could have pressed it. When it happens I can't make calls or reestablish data connections until I either go in the connections manager or soft reset.

Like tribalmunky said we were no where near the phone when it happens, but I follow your instruction and changed the long pressed key. I'll see if anything occurs. Thanks for the input tho.
Update:
I called At&t and from what tech support told is, their network is having problems, especially for users in Cali. They are in progress of fixing it, but no idea how long it is going to take. I guess the only thing we can do now is wait.

I've been having problems with this too (losing data and phone) and I'm in Seattle. Maybe if I call, AT&T will claim there are problems with the entire west coast.
I did the whole SPL and ROM flashing thing (ROMeOS) and the problem still persists. I chatted online with an AT&T guy and he said it was a known issue but no way to fix it yet.
If you're worried about your contacts, don't be. Use PPCPimBackup (I think I got it either here or at freewarepocketpc.net) and it can copy all of your contacts onto the storage card. It's free and I've used it prior to flashing a new ROM.
However, flashing ROMs do not work. The only fix is simply going to your communications settings, turning off Data, then turning it right back on. This will also be why some of your MMS pictures don't get sent out.
I still love this phone, just get annoyed with it at times. Even the available larger battery with cover only makes my phone last about two days opposed to one.

I am in NJ and have the same problem. It started about the time I loaded some screen lock software that requires a finger swipe to unlock the touch screen (navigation buttons always active) upon coming out of sleep mode. I just decided to live with it, I like the software. I merely click the data connection in settings, connections, data connection (it may indicate off or on, doesn't matter, it is actually off) and then click it on and everything works again. Mostly happens after charging overnight.
I have stock fuze and it keeps happening to me too. But whenever I reset my phone, I can connect to the internet. I don't think it's network related in my case. not sure though.
Hi,
I searched the forum a lot and couldn't find any info on this. Additionally, I have had the same issues with my old G1 as well as with my new Desire Z. So I'm pretty sure it's a generic Android issue and unrelated to the device. Hope someone can point me in the right direction for a solution.
The problem is, that my phone regularly will not receive any internet data, though the coverage isn't a problem. In these cases, the data icon in the status bar will continuously light up outgoing data (small arrow up), but nothing happens. It seems as if the connection "locks up". After a while, I regularly receive a connection timeout. To solve it, I have to disable the connection (switch to flightmode) and back.
I already tried several options to limit the possibilities:
- installed another ROM
- wipe / factory reset
- updated radio image
- used another carrier (switching from Vodafone Germany to o2 Germany)
No matter what, the problem persists. This is really getting weird and annoying. I assumed that this would be either a problem with the carrier or with the radio image. Unfortunately, I turned out to be wrong. I do somehow have the feeling that the problem occurs more often in certain areas, so it somehow might have something to do with the carrier. Nevertheless, the problem occurs no matter whether I'm on 3G or HSDPA.
As I have no further clue what to look into, I would gladly welcome any hints. Should there already be a similar topic, I'm sorry for not having found it. Please direct me to it in that case.
Best regards,
Becksman
No one? I seriously can't imagine that nobody else has this problem. Or are the people just complaining in the subforums for their individual phone?
My HD7 worked without issue from the beginning of the year til around a month ago.
All of a sudden, my WiFi became extremely unreliable, sometimes taking an overly long time to recognise or connect to an obvious access point, sometimes finding none at all.
After I do manage to connect wirelessly, I see no speed increase in data transfer to suggest that the phone is even using the wireless link. Web pages sometimes load slower than over 3G. I had read that HD7s have trouble using certain WiFi protocols and adjusted accordingly, but the workaround was to no avail.
Additionally, once WiFi has been selected, I cannot switch it off. I am 'locked out' of the WiFi settings page. When I tap it in the menu it responds as if I've nudged it but it cannot load. The only solution is to remove the battery. On occasion, this stuck WiFi has also caused the capacitive buttons, camera and power switch to become inactive. Curiously, touch screen function seems unaffected.
I thought maybe this issue was tied to corrupt settings with my hub, but changing SSID / WEP key etc etc on my router hasn't fixed the problem, and connection to other open WiFi signals jam the phone just as badly.
I upgraded to Mango in the hope that a fresh OS update may 'rejig' my wireless settings into working, but again, no joy.
Anyone experienced anything similar? My final options seem to be factory reset the handset to see if that solves the issue, or return the handset to O2. (Both involve losing all my data, game saves, application data AND the recently delisted SW: Battle for Hoth permanently.)
Anyone got any other thoughts?
*EDIT* After a bit more research, I found that even when the phone has connected to a WiFi source, by turning Operator Data Service off, you can see that the WiFi service is in fact not doing anything.
I braved a factory reset, managed to whack WiFi on no problem, browser ran at appropriate speed, then everything crashed as per usual, I couldn't connect to the marketplace and had to pull the battery in order to use any of the capacitive buttons. I guess it was a hardware issue individual to my phone after all.
Guess I'll give O2 a ring sometime soon to sort a replacement. Not looking forward to losing all my game progress though it has to be said.
bro i m having the same exact problem havent find any solution yet i even tried to copy and replace the wifi files from another clean htc hd7 but useless when i upgraded to 7740 the wifi worked perfectly for 1 night only then at the morning it stopped working, everything else works great. my theory says that its not a hardware problem cz i used internet sharing which uses the wifi adapter (if i m right) so its a software I GUESS

I had the same problem as well, couldn't connect, got to the point where even the power button stopped responding. Hard resets would only help for a short time and enabling WIFI would never connect right and eventually get me back to the same problem. I then got a replacement device, but it's not much better, I still can't connect to any WIFI, but at least it's not freezing up on me. My solution thus far has been just to avoid turning on WIFI if at all possible, but it's far from a perfect workaround. I'm guessing it's the HTC WIFI driver that's got issues.
i got similar problem.. send phone to service problem was "circut board"
replaced working fine...
when i was using wifi my phone was freezing some menus stop working and i have to remove battery
I’m currently using AOKP Jellybean 4.1.2, the supposedly stable, reliable milestone version found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804223
I'll try to be as thorough as possible in hopes that someone will respond and know what to do. I apologize in advance for being long-winded.
I didn’t have any issues last night when I first flashed the rom. I was able to watch youtube videos using the mobile data. I was also able to turn on wifi to sync some files from my dropbox to my phone, and then turn off the wifi with no issues. However, today after connecting to a wifi network to download a few things and browse the web, I disconnected from the wireless network and the mobile data curiously did not start up again. I DO have cellular service (3-4 bars), and I can make phone calls and check my voicemail by pressing and holding 1 on the keypad, but my mobile data doesn’t work. I looked around for some solutions, and I've since restarted my device several times, tried toggling airplane mode on and off, and did several combinations of reboots with airplane on/off and no dice.
Everytime I use the toggle in the notificaton bar area to turn off wifi, my internet connection goes with it. It says “no internet connection” in the notification background at the bottom of the screen. Once I turn wifi on, I get my internet back and it says “at&t” at the bottom, but I don’t actually get mobile data because apps like “At&t Visual Voicemail” which require mobile data to function don’t work.
I tried flashing the 1.85 radio to see if it would connect to mobile data, and same issue persisted after reboot and dalvik/cache clean. After that failed, I flashed the 2.20 radio + RIL zip files seperately (which is what I understand came with the rom), and still no dice.
For reference, my HTC One X was rooted with 1.73 firmware (I never tried to update it until last night). I did the CID spoof method to unlock my bootloader, and installed the newest version of TWRP on it. I flashed the rom and the gapps package. I used TiBu to restore program settings and a handful of my out of market apps, and the rest of my purchased apps downloaded automatically from the market after connecting with my google account. I had literally just finished reinstalling the last of my apps today via wifi when this issue started to happen.
I'd really prefer a practical method of getting this fixed that doesn't involve starting over with a fresh rom install. Reflashing at this point would be something of a nuisance since I don’t have much free time to begin with. And hey, it took a long time to load up all of my apps just right
However, if there is no other fix that anyone is aware of, I guess I could reflash or in the worst case try a different rom. It’s a shame because the rom otherwise is really smooth and runs great on the phone, in addition to not using a whole lot of resources and having a decent battery life.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and solutions.
Here is an image of my battery drain screen showing what my mobile data is supposedly doing despite not being able to get a true data connection. Even with my wifi off, there is supposedly medium mobile signal.
And attached is another image of what happens when I turn my wifi off. I pulled the notification pane down and you can see that it says "no internet connection" at the bottom. Also, you can't really see it in that cap, but the mobile data bars behind the notification area are colored white, and there isn't any "H+", "4G", or "LTE" notifiers visible.
Edit: Attached a third image showing the "white" signal bars (i.e. no data connection). Yes, my mobile data is turned on, and I'm obviously not in airplane mode.
I figured it out eventually for anyone interested... Apparently the APN were not set. They existed on the APN list but were not visible due to a glitch in the ROM I guess. I had to add a custom APN and then the other ones suddenly appeared.
Thanks anyway.

Hi, I have a very particular issue with my Oneplus One which it seems to me software related and I hope someone can help me here. I've tried to find an answer here in the XDA and in the Oneplus One forum but no one seems to have the same issua as mine. I've also tried to flash different modems, and doesn't fix it. Tried to play with the *#*#4636#*#* menu and didn't have luck as well.
Before I start I'm on Three network in UK. My phone is rooted but no Xposed installed. CM11S latest version installed.
Things I tried to solve the issue:
I've already tried to flash different modems or play with the *#*#4636#*#* menu but I have no luck. Tried factory reset, complete wipe on recovery and restore of the CM11S. Nothing helped.
What it happens is that sometimes, using HSPA or LTE I'm not able to use the internet. It doesn't seem to be a signal issue because I have full bars and I can even see the arrows up and down in the status bar inside the signal meter. I'm not able to use browser, listen to Spotify or anything internet related. Calls are ok. It usually an issue when I'm on HSPA+ but sometimes in LTE as well.
A reboot usually does the trick and makes it work, but sometimes not and it takes a while to come back and connect. That's really annoying.
Just another piece of info, it usually happens when I disconnect from Wifi and connect to the phone network or when I don't have signal (I'm in the tube for example) and come to an area where I have signal.
I hope someone here might be able to help. The only thing I haven't tried yet is to change to other carrier. But that would be last option as I appreciate the All-you-can-eat data allowance from Three.
Thank you in advance.

Have you checked if you had the right APN ?
Yes, Apr settings are right. Just to be clear. I can connect to HSPA and LTE. What happens is that the connection drops and just fix if I reboot.

Same problem here. Have you found a solution? Or is it a hardware problem?
Hey sorry for bumping an old post but I'm having the same problem. In the UK on non-EE T-mobile. I get enough signal and H seems to connect, but I can't access the Internet. The upload arrow shows but the download arrow rarely appears.
I've tried flashing different roms, modems, recoveries to flash them, all to no avail
I have the same problem, but I don't have to restart, putting the phone in airplane mode and releasing after 2 seconds does the trick. still very annoying. no one has any idea of how to solve it?
My ROM is CM11 44S
