I just recently deleted my internet explorer in the registry and program files. Now I cannot open my messages! I get an error that says . Popup apparently from From IE: "Internet Explorer; Press OK to continue loading the content of this page." in a little gray box.
Can somebody please help me with this? I do not want/need IE but I do need my messaging to work. To clarify, I can see the preview of the message in TF3D but I cannot open it, nor can I reply without the messaging freezing.
Update
So now I tried to update windows in the settings and it wont connect. Also, if i'm not connected via wifi it seems that I cant connect at all, even though it says im connected. Any advice?

honestly, I tried to fix this myself I searched the forums for a fix but i just cant find something that works.
The first issues is my phone wont use the web. I get this error every time I try to use opera
"ERROR! The remote server refuses to perform the request. The address is available".
this used to happen rarely on my phone before i updated my stock ROM. I was able to fix it with a soft reset, but now I cant do anything to fix it.
Second my phone will not sync with my computer so I can't add/remove files from it. when I connect it I hear a double tone sound from the PC and then nothing happens. my phone used to give me an option on what to do when I connected the usb cable. now nothing happens.

To fix your problem with Opera, open it up and goto the address opera:config
Then go down and click on proxy and clear the fields for http server and https server. Then hit the save button.
As for your syncing problem, what version of windows is on your pc? If it's XP, launch active sync from there and goto the options and make sure the option to allow usb connections is checked.

As for my pc, im using XP sp 3.
and active sync setting was already checked off.
Okay, i fixed it!
go to your connection settings and then to "USB to PC" uncheck "ask me frist..." save the settings then soft reset your phone and reconnect your usb once it has booted. then it worked(did a bunch of crazy sounds). went back to "USB to PC" and added the check mark and now its acting like it should be.
Thanks for the help guys.
Well, installed WIMP today on my HD2, used the setup util to enter the settings, even did a soft-reset of the phone, but: when I send a msg as described in the manual ($WIMPxxxx - where xxxx is my PIN), my device simply tells me it has received a new textmsg and displays this msg. WIMP does not seem to intercept it, and doesn't respond...
Anyone a clue how to get this to work?
I use a similar program, Sprite Terminator, and everytime I try and track my HD2 by sending a GPS command I get no reply back.
Very odd.

Disable htc messaging...
It appears WIMP is designed to work with windows (poutlook) handling sms, not the HTC messaging app.
Zenyee Disable HTC Messaging (unsure of source) will disable HTC messaging when installed and enable it again when uninstalled.
I'm still looking for a solution so that I can have both... but at the moment I prefer the messaging interface and don't really put my phone down anywhere... so wimp is sitting idle.
Anyone got the problem solved or is there a similar program like wimp?
I find that disabling the HTC messaging has some negative effects on my phone, atleast when I got a new message my notification bar doesn't show it plus HTC messaging automaticly typed first letter in capital and I have to reset sense few times a day 'cause sometimes the green light freezes and blinks to the end of time.
Hy.
I installed Birdiesync on my Tre0 750, then it has expired, and i uninstalled it. Since then, i'm getting a message, everytime i'm connecting to the internet or to my calc. that "Cannot execute \program files\Birdiesync\Birdiesync.exe." I searched in P. files, there is no such file or folder. In windows startup the same, i even checked with a registry editor, but the file was probably deleted.
So, where it initializez? How can i get rid of the message?
Did you get this issue resolved? I about to give BirdieSync a try with their 21 day trial...but I don't want to even install it if it doesn't leave your phone how it was after it's gone.
Did you even like the program, or did you just uninstall for other reasons. I'm using finchsync, the free alternative...but development stopped on it so long ago I wasnt to try something new.
Yes, i resolved it. I installed it again, and then uninstalled it again, whith my phone disconnected from the computer. It worked this way. Yes, the program works fine, doing what is expected to...
Hello, everyone,
I hope this is the right forum, but please feel free to move it to the correct one.
My wife's HTC Dash (on a Rogers plan) began acting strangely yesterday. She said she was in the middle of texting when the Comm manager screen came up. When she finished her text, the shortcuts along the top of the screen were all missing, and when she tries to use them, it says something to the effect of "Error opening the shortcut of locating the target filename." I can't say exactly how this happened, since I was not with her at the time.
She can still send and receive text messages by highlighting the "Text Messages" section of the homescreen, and she can still access her contacts for calls and texts. The calendar can still be accessed through clicking on appointments in the home screen, but not through the shortcuts. Also, where the Comm Manager usually is on the home screen, it is now blank, but I can click on it and access the Comm Manager screen.
When I open the Start Menu, the only icon that remains is the T-Mobile "Set up Email" option. I can also not sync the phone to the netbook it's set up on. When I plug the phone in, it is recognized by the computer but in Mobile Device Centre program, it imply says "Error."
UPDATE:
I can plug the phone into the computer and it will be recognized. I can also use file explorer to see the files in the phone. Also, the phone will not let me change ring modes (Normal/Meeting/Silent/etc)
Has anyone had this issue before, and would a factory reset correct the issue? I told my wife it's likely she will lose her contacts, but she's not too concerned about it, since she can get those back easily enough. She just wants the full functionality back. She does not use the phone for email, so I can't speak to that.
Thanks for taking the time to read all this. I hope someone can help us!
Thanks
I'm sorry, but i can't help you with your problem, but you don't have to loose the contacts etc from the device as you are able to connect to a pc.
Find a program called 'jeyo mobile compagnion' you can download a demo from the official website, and you can make a back up of contacts, sms and call histtory
btw, afaik you probably have to make a hard reset (factory reset).
good luck!
Does anyone manage to use "Link to Windows"/"Your Phone Companion" with Note 10?
I got the Note 10 recently.
I'm trying to make it work with the "Your Phone" app on Windows 10, which is supposed to be really easy considering that "Link to Windows"/"Your Phone Companion" are preinstalled on the phone.
I managed to connect the phone to my Microsoft account (I see it at the portal). I also managed to get it listed in the "Your Phone" app on my laptop. The problem is, the app is blank. Basically, it's unable to fetch any information from the phone (Notifications/Messages/Photos/Apps). When I try to refresh, it always gets to the "We can't connect to ... Note 10. Make sure that your PC and phone are connected to the Internet." error. The app is for sure connected to the phone because "Open phone screen" works flawlessly, but nothing else does.
The phone itself shows the "Connected to your PC" notification and also shows that it's connected to my laptop in Settings -> Advanced features -> Link to Windows.
Things I checked so far:
1. The Windows "Your Phone" app is latest version.
2. The "Link to Windows"/"Your Phone Companion" are both latest version from the Galaxy Store.
3. I also tried the version of "Your Phone Companion" from Play Store (it's newer) - same result.
4. All required permissions are granted to the "Your Phone Companion" app on the phone.
5. Both laptop and phone are connected to the same WiFi (no AP isolation on the router).
6. Also tried allowing mobile data and disconnecting the phone from WiFi - same result.
7. The phone is for sure connected to the PC over bluetooth.
8. Windows 10 is latest (2004 build 19041.508).
9. Phone is also latest (N970FXXU6DTH7/N970FOXM6DTH7).
It's really frustrating, and any help will the highly appreciated.
P.S. To anyone asking why I would want to use this service - I want a way to minimize distractions from my phone during work. Basically, this way, I will be able to see (and ignore) all the notifications from the phone on my laptop + answer/ignore calls via the headset that's always connected to the laptop without ever looking at my phone.
Things I can see interfering:
1. On the laptop I have 2 Microsoft accounts (work and personal). Although, both the app on the laptop and on the phone show my personal account in the Settings.
2. Missing drivers on the laptop. Although, Windows Update doesn't find anything and when the phone is connecting to the laptop via bluetooth is seem to be set-up properly.
Hello.
Today "your phone" app was updated with windows store..
So this new update bring ability also use the phone apps on windows desktop. Magnificent news
However before update things was perfectly working for me.
today, after the update,
I couldnt manage to connect.
I tried to change wifi , reset modem, change dns, turn of firewall, change different msn account.
Remove your phone app from windows and install again with powershell,
Clear data and chache of android app, giving full permissions + allowing notification reach access
Nothing worked for me.
The last step which the app says
"We will send notification.to your phone , press allow etc.."
Waits forever..
That notification never comes phone and process never completes.
So i feel it is from ms servers.

Thanks @m_carleone82, @Hansoliv, so at least I know I'm not alone with that issue.
I used to have the same problem, I believe it has something to do with debloated apps from adb, even after re-enabling them didn't help. Flashing the firmware was my option and now everything is working.
OK, so had some time on my hands today and eventually I fixed it.
I had to enable two things that are not mentioned anywhere in the Microsoft FAQs:
1. Enable "Share across devices". Enabling only "Nearby sharing" is not sufficient.
Settings -> System -> Shared experiences -> Share across devices
2. Allow "Microsoft apps can sign me in" for my secondary (personal) Microsoft account.
It's the default if you have only one account, but if you add another you can select "Apps need to ask me to use this account", which I did, because I don't want to mix personal stuff in the work laptop. But apparently "Your Phone" never asks...
Settings -> Accounts -> Email and accounts
Now everything works.
Works for me when I configured the first time, then never got connected again
Please disable battery save mode to use this app...
