Which version of TouchFLO 3D?? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

which version of TouchFLO 3D takes up less CPU which means i guess lower battery consumption?? but which one?? im currently running XBMods TF3D Rhodium version, and i was wondering if the older TouchFLO 3Ds like the stock ones u get in the Diamond and Raphael uses less CPU power and lower battery consumption...help would be nice..thanks

anyone?? i need at least an answer so i can look into other TF3Ds

TF3D
i dont think there really is much of a difference between the 2, however, as you've probably noticed, TF3D 2 takes up ALOT more RAM so you'd be better off sticking with the stock TF3D if you want better performance and (potentially) better battery life

I need some expert advice ....HTC TRINITY vs HTC WIZARD .....which is better? thanks in advance for any feedback.please keep in mind I don't care about GPS so please dont take that into consideration.
Trinity has Umts, faster processor (although i never recognised a great difference to an omap), better camera..
wizard has a keyboard

yeah thats my main question.....i mean the Samsung processor is "faster" in terms of clock speed but will i really notice a big performance difference from the OMAP(which i run at 273mhz)??

This depends on what you are doing with your device.
Two things where you will really feel a difference: Playing videos and and browsing the internet.
In my opinion, if you have either of them, you won't gain a lot by swithing to the other, unless you really need a feature the other one provides (such as 3G or keyboard).
Better to save for a better device next time. For example, the Tytn II when it drops in price.

in my opinion: _NO_
although many people would say something different, i say that my touch @ 273 mhz is at least as fast as my old hermes @ 400 mhz.
The only app, where my hermes was faster was in video playback, because of the ati imageon decoder.
In that case, my touch gets 40 fps (@273 mhz), and my hermes 60.

Manila 2D on Raphael

Hey guys, as I think the manila 2D of the Kaiser would be a very good alternative for people requiring better battery life, did any one port it to our Raphael? trying the kaiser version is no good as the resolution is not correct, one would get the full manila but smaller in size in our screen. I wish someone can port it to the TP. It is extremely fast and very nice to use.

IT EXISTS, try this link

Graphic acceleration

On my Touch Diamond I had used this ATI D3D driver, Diamond D3D Video drivers which made TF3D faster.
I installed it on my Diamond 2 now and I have the feeling its speeding up a little bit as well.
Is the same graphic chip used on the Diamond and Diamond 2?
Anybody made the same experience?

Last edit removed, see my post GFXBoost
I'd like to know about this as well. It would make Terracrosser and other mapping software scroll a lot faster!
Heyho!
I'll test it later on Diamond1 and today evening on Diamond2..
I didn't recognize this driver before.. but seems to be great
Thank you!
I don't see any difference here...sorry...
In fact, seems that the original was faster than this one...
HastaSSSS
Great
this fixed the lag when switching between tabs in tf3d.
Thank you
I wonder which rom version you guys have...
Has anyone ran the benchmarks?
HastaSSSS
ROM 1.39.479.1 (47382) WWE
ROM date 04/07/09
Radio version 3.43.25.19
Protocol version 61.20t.25.10U
I did not make benchmark, but I knew from my Diamond that this driver brought speed to TF3D. Feeling is the same for Diamond 2, TF3D is faster.
So this driver actually does help then?? Wonder if it helps or hinders battery life?
found this on a webpage ...
The MSM7201A chipset is theoretically speaking the successor of the MSM7200A chipset, although the differences are almost non-existant.
According to the MSM7200A datasheet, the graphics part of the chipset (presumably the ATI Imageon 2300 or 2700G chip) is capable of delivering up to 4 million 3D triangles per second, and 133 million 3D textured pixels per second fill rate. Furthermore, it supports OpenGL ES.
i am unable to actually find infos on the actual grafic chip inside the cpu if someone has those it would be great. also then we would need to know if td2 actually uses hardware or software acceleration ... but the above sounds lke if td2 has NO hw graphics it might be faster and if it DOES it might even be slowing down things? what benchmark would you suggest using i'd be happy to try...
pencilcase,
here you find what was tested on the Diamond and the results. There are 2 benchmarks for download as well.
I am just happy that my Diamond 2 runs now with all my SW on it, I don't want to mess it up. Otherwise I would run the tests by myself.
Does it accelerate tf3d only or does it also accelerate the default winmo and other programs?
It is the driver between WM and the graphic chip, so it accelerates all applications that use WM. There might be some applications that access the graphic chip directly, these would not be accelerated.
Well I installed it and the lights.exe benchmark difference between software and hardware rendering is amazing to behold!
So it works for me - although I guess the thing to appreciate is that this is only going to accelerate 3d apps!
Hi, I've tested the ATI drivers on Diamond 2, with the Light.exe test, and seems that the driver works!. The speed improvement is very high and impressive.
tried this driver and you can definitely notice the speed improvement in TF3D and 3D games... Great stuff!!
Anyone else tried this ?
If it really speeds things up, maybe we can make it a sticky ?
Can anybody post benchmarkt results ?

Just tested it here....very good speedups in the lights.exe but unfortunately not anything to write home about in tf3d.
Wow.. this is amazing.. I tested playing NFS and it rans so smoothly
And TF3D speed has really improved.
Yep...huge improvement is confirmed once more. Lights.exe is i n c r e d i b l y smooth now.
Touchflo was already smooth with stock rom. HD Tweak made it perfect. I think that the new drivers didn't offer a further improvement on this matter
Maybe it's best to make this a sticky then ?

NEW HTC Hero - Android powered!

http://www.htc.com/www/product/hero/overview.html
They're still updating the website...
From the specs, seems identical to the HTC Magic, expect for the 5.0 mpixel camera vs the 3.2 found on the Magic.
Damn, where is the Touch HD 2 that would give the TG01 a run for its money?
Nay, TouchHD2 it's exactly the same as the "old" touch hd.. same hardware spec, slightly smaller display (3.6" vs 3.8"), slightly less ram (256 vs 288), 8mpixel camera (withouth flash) and that's it... NO OLED display, NO increase in cpu speed (I correct myself: 528MHz vs 600MHz.. nothing dramatic, battery drains faster), nothing.. so, keep your TouchHD if you got one...

It also includes HTC's brand new UI " Sense " which will allow the user to fully customize their screen with widgets for clock, weather ,facebook, twitter and allow switching between different screens for work and play and vacation or whatever. They say this UI will eventually make it to all HTC phones.
Hmmm......."A fully customizable home screen " why can't people around here think of those things ?
Sounds like MS 3.0 on Android.
The launch video on the HTC YouTube Channel looks awesome

WOW, I MUST SAY, THIS PHONE LOOKS AWESOME!
Even better then my diamond, to be honest..
DAMN, i'm interested in this one

I dunno.. It seems to me like HTC Sense will be the TF3D Android Edition.. the whole widget thing it's native on Android, while it's not the case on WinMobile. Moreover, with TP2 and Diamond2 HTC just introduced an updated version of their TF3D.. seems stupid to me throwing away all the developers' work on Manila v2 and replace it with HTC Sense..
It would be a nice phone if it hadn't lost the VGA screen.
was really hoping for a Touch pro 2 device with a capacitive screen and android. no other changes
528mhz cpu and 3.2" screen is much too small for me!

Omnia II vs Imagio vs TPro2?

So, those are my choices. I'm on Verizon and those are my options. Android is NOT an option for me.
So... All three have various advantages that I can see, and I'm torn on what the best route to go is.
Omnia has a wonderful screen (Bigger, and OLED), faster processor, FM radio, 8 GB internal storage besides the card, and a flash for the camera. But I worry about support for it. There isn't a www.samsung-developers.com after all! Many reviews say the UI is clunky at best and that the device seems sluggish plus it only has 208 RAM.
Imagio has more RAM, the radio, better built in UI. But there is no flash for the camera. I worry that I'll find the device nice, but nothing special about it... which I guess if it works as advertised I don't necessarily need special.
TPro2 has same RAM as Imagio, World Phone capabilities, the same UI as Imagio, and one of best keyboards a phone has ever had, at least according to all the reviews I've read. But it doesn't have flash for the Camera, and it doesn't hav ea radio.
Frankly, I'm just really really torn... any opinions?
Touch pro 2 Defenitly. The Omnia II, I wouldn't even consider. The Imagio is nice, but why not get all the functionality of a phone by getting a keyboard, and better more a keyboard that tilts. The keyboard is by far the best i've used and the tilting comes in handy while watching movies. The speaker quality is excellent and the device is not that thick at all. Maybe a smidge heavier than most but not at all annoying. This is by far the best device I've had! I suggest the touch pro 2.
+1 for Rhodium!!
The only one with a hardware keyboard, in fact the best with kb!
By far
Have a look here:

What about Sense UI? The Imagio seems to have a new version. Is it possible to upgrade the TPro to the same UI level?
Yes it´s possible always with one of our great Chefs cooked ROM´s
