Manila 2D on Raphael - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hey guys, as I think the manila 2D of the Kaiser would be a very good alternative for people requiring better battery life, did any one port it to our Raphael? trying the kaiser version is no good as the resolution is not correct, one would get the full manila but smaller in size in our screen. I wish someone can port it to the TP. It is extremely fast and very nice to use.

VGA hack

hi i hav been lookin around and i noticed that the universal had been hacked from qvga to vga which gives the screen a higher reselution..
is it possible 4 the kaiser or would we need the missing video driver in order 2 do that?
i would prefer it if i had a higher res for my kaiser!!
where do i even begin........the universal was not "hacked" to make it vga, it was made with a vga screen

sadly tytnII is not native VGA like universal is.
However, universal os was not written for vga-support at once. Some ppl has made their own software to get support for VGA in the phone and email. Browsing was still VGA on the universal. You can try to tweak the pixelsize, but you will never get VGA as the screen is only qvga.
The best vga rom for universal i think is this one:

Kidding, don't take me seriously.
I tried to tell you in a little sarcastic way it's not possible
If you wanted a VGA screen perhaps you might consider investing in a newer phone, as QVGA is exactly that: quarter VGA - it can't be hacked as its 'resolution infers how many pixels the screen has.
There are now a healthy number of Windows Mobile devices coming onto the market with VGA (and higher) displays - in fact there are OLDER phones than the Kaiser with higher than VGA screens, such as the Toshiba Portege G900, so if screen real-estate is an issue it might be worth trading your Kaiser in.
Unfortunately despite its majestic specifications the kaiser suffers from HTC's unwillingness to put VGA screens on their smaller handsets despite the fact that the technology is there and affordable. Perhaps they have a massive stockade of these bog-standard 64k 2.8inch displays.....who knows.
Sometimes it would be nice to have VGA display on TyTN II, but clearly I don't really mind. It's quite enough for me and its backlight is very bright.
Nice display I have to say, even if it's old and has color depth only 65k.
As for alexsandros, you should check Glofiish X800 or M800.
Seems like a Kaiser's rival, with VGA diplay (if you don't mind X800 is as ugly as ****)

Nice sir, very nice.

Should be nice...
Regarding the getting started video: I really like the fact that TouchFlo 3D really appears to be silky smooth now... I cannot wait any longer XD
Yup, i noticed that too, very smooth!
Software Review
I can't wait for the software review it should be good. I bet there are some differences compared to the Diamond.
Software Review!
The software review is up:

i would guess, the extra ram should make a big diff in the TF3d performance compared to the diamond... right?

At least in the software video it appears to be the case. The TouchFlo 3D interface is very smooth and responsive.
I hope they are going to tweak TouchFlo in landscape mode a bit more to make it more "shiny". But honestly using the keyboard this is more than sufficient. What do you want with the weather panel while using the keyboard? Being able to access all the typing applications quickly with the keyboard out makes most sense to me.
And I guess that using the home button while being in any other application while sliding out the keyboard will bring you back to the landscape touch flo interface (3D it is not... )
damnit. my Nokia N73 committed suicide. It literally hanged and the service point says it can not be repaired. problem with the board.
I need this phone to be released immediately. =\

Lol @ the voice, wasn't any human available so they hired a robot?
Now being more serious, I expected more from the landscape mode, but I don't think that's a huge problem.

I don't like how they did away with all the hardware buttons. That's going to be a pain-in-the-rear.

I agree 100%. This alone might make be enough to make me jump ship (and the driver debacle, that too). The jog wheel means that much to me.

its a TOUCH category , so it should have less HW keys
I dont want to seem funny or anything, but in what little I can find out about this phone, I have deduced that it is everything the touch diamond is... except for it has a keyboard... and that the landscape "touchflo 3d" is pretty much 8 icons...
please, someone tell me im wrong and that ive missed something here...
Touch Pro has:
More RAM (288MB)
LED light for camera
Hardware keyboard
Higher battery capacity
TV out
microSDHC slot (instead of built-in 4GB in Diamond)
it's possible that I forgot something...
more RAM ay... i guess it depends on whether it really will speed up things, or whether itll go back to the usual problem of the graphics drivers being non-exsistant.
Personally, and im probably on my own here, it just seems that the pro will be £100+ more because it has a keyboard and a few more little things... dont get me wrong, i got my kaiser because i love having a real qwerty etc, i just wish that it had a bit more "oomph" behind it than the diamond... and some graphic drivers

Weight of 165g opposed the 110g from Diamond
comes with Worldcard mobile and JetCet print pre-installed.....??
Nah, doesn't excite me either!
Anyhoo, you end up with around 200MB Program memory and 320MB Storage Memory just after a hard reset. That's more than on my advantage!!
No demo of the camera in the software demo huh? That's not usually a good sign.

which do u think is better the omnia or touch pro?

i'm planning on buying one of them and i was wondering which one would be better? im having a hard time choosing between the touchflo 3d and touch wiz interface.
also wouldnt be possible to put touchflo 2d on the omnia. i bet it would look good on a 3.2 inch screen.
depend on if you want a real keyboard and higher resolution
or a bigger screen
i have a himalaya with a 3.5" screen
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Himalaya
with touchflo end up removing it
Personally I would go for the Touch Pro as I trust more the HTC manufactured devices.
But as our oldest member and Mod says: it depends exactly what you prefer to have on a device.
I´ll wait for HD

Which version of TouchFLO 3D??

which version of TouchFLO 3D takes up less CPU which means i guess lower battery consumption?? but which one?? im currently running XBMods TF3D Rhodium version, and i was wondering if the older TouchFLO 3Ds like the stock ones u get in the Diamond and Raphael uses less CPU power and lower battery consumption...help would be nice..thanks
anyone?? i need at least an answer so i can look into other TF3Ds
TF3D
i dont think there really is much of a difference between the 2, however, as you've probably noticed, TF3D 2 takes up ALOT more RAM so you'd be better off sticking with the stock TF3D if you want better performance and (potentially) better battery life

Graphic acceleration

On my Touch Diamond I had used this ATI D3D driver, Diamond D3D Video drivers which made TF3D faster.
I installed it on my Diamond 2 now and I have the feeling its speeding up a little bit as well.
Is the same graphic chip used on the Diamond and Diamond 2?
Anybody made the same experience?
----------------
Last edit removed, see my post GFXBoost
I'd like to know about this as well. It would make Terracrosser and other mapping software scroll a lot faster!
Heyho!
I'll test it later on Diamond1 and today evening on Diamond2..
I didn't recognize this driver before.. but seems to be great
Thank you!
I don't see any difference here...sorry...
In fact, seems that the original was faster than this one...
HastaSSSS
Great
this fixed the lag when switching between tabs in tf3d.
Thank you
I wonder which rom version you guys have...
Has anyone ran the benchmarks?
HastaSSSS
ROM 1.39.479.1 (47382) WWE
ROM date 04/07/09
Radio version 3.43.25.19
Protocol version 61.20t.25.10U
I did not make benchmark, but I knew from my Diamond that this driver brought speed to TF3D. Feeling is the same for Diamond 2, TF3D is faster.
So this driver actually does help then?? Wonder if it helps or hinders battery life?
found this on a webpage ...
The MSM7201A chipset is theoretically speaking the successor of the MSM7200A chipset, although the differences are almost non-existant.
According to the MSM7200A datasheet, the graphics part of the chipset (presumably the ATI Imageon 2300 or 2700G chip) is capable of delivering up to 4 million 3D triangles per second, and 133 million 3D textured pixels per second fill rate. Furthermore, it supports OpenGL ES.
i am unable to actually find infos on the actual grafic chip inside the cpu if someone has those it would be great. also then we would need to know if td2 actually uses hardware or software acceleration ... but the above sounds lke if td2 has NO hw graphics it might be faster and if it DOES it might even be slowing down things? what benchmark would you suggest using i'd be happy to try...
pencilcase,
here you find what was tested on the Diamond and the results. There are 2 benchmarks for download as well.
I am just happy that my Diamond 2 runs now with all my SW on it, I don't want to mess it up. Otherwise I would run the tests by myself.
Does it accelerate tf3d only or does it also accelerate the default winmo and other programs?
It is the driver between WM and the graphic chip, so it accelerates all applications that use WM. There might be some applications that access the graphic chip directly, these would not be accelerated.
Well I installed it and the lights.exe benchmark difference between software and hardware rendering is amazing to behold!
So it works for me - although I guess the thing to appreciate is that this is only going to accelerate 3d apps!
Hi, I've tested the ATI drivers on Diamond 2, with the Light.exe test, and seems that the driver works!. The speed improvement is very high and impressive.
tried this driver and you can definitely notice the speed improvement in TF3D and 3D games... Great stuff!!
Anyone else tried this ?
If it really speeds things up, maybe we can make it a sticky ?
Can anybody post benchmarkt results ?

Just tested it here....very good speedups in the lights.exe but unfortunately not anything to write home about in tf3d.
Wow.. this is amazing.. I tested playing NFS and it rans so smoothly
And TF3D speed has really improved.
Yep...huge improvement is confirmed once more. Lights.exe is i n c r e d i b l y smooth now.
Touchflo was already smooth with stock rom. HD Tweak made it perfect. I think that the new drivers didn't offer a further improvement on this matter
Maybe it's best to make this a sticky then ?
