i prefer to write in german but this is not a german forum ;D
In the last days i tried a english-based rom for the Kaiser. I think that almost every german rom is crap if i compare that german roms with the newer (mostly) english roms. In the last english-based rom the call-manager was also in english. Now the case i want to get solved:
If i try to call somebody in a german city - for example Bremen i call
0421 (to reach the network in bremen) - and then for example 12345 - the number of that guy i want to reach in bremen.
the call manager has displayd 042 (country) 1123 (city?) 45 (number?) instead of "0421-12345"
so i had to call everybody by the international country-code "0049-421-12345"
this sucks! - So - is there the Posibility to change the Language - even for the call-manager - to german?
I want to try Windows Mobile 6.5 - this is currently not available in german as i think - or a cute fast windows mobile 6.1 rom - also not available in german.
You guys are very smart - so you will understand that whole text

We we moved to Shanghai 3 months ago And my Dutch T-mobile couldn't display the Chinese SMS messeges and I'm also learning Chinese. I have some *** Flash a Chinese rom into it.
To cut a long story short it is not a stabel rom if it powers of reset avantgo won't run anymore etc. And I want to know the posibility's of Chinese mobile networks.
Found the roms in the wiki. BTW anyone knows a enlisch Rom witch also supports Chinese?

The Chinese rom witch is avaiable for download is traditional Chinese. (This is used in Taiwan and before HongKong)
I'm seeking for one in Simplified Chinese.
Or a englisch rom witch kan display Simplified Chinese. (Used in Mainland China, PRC)
@seasky what rom are you using and can it or can it not display Chinese simplified characters?
And My Chinese is not sufficient yet to read the page you linked, but I also could'nt find a rom there.
So please could you clarify what you are addressing on that page?
you may try a software called cestar,it will support simple-chinese quite well
Go to XDA-Wiki, at WM5 section, there is a method you can use to enable your device to support Chinese, without flashing the entire ROM. Just install a 3MB+ cocktail of stuff.
UPDATE: Oops, just notice yours is not a WM5 phone. Sorry.
Hello all
A friend of mine is living in Korea will bring me his new T-Omnia next week. The ROM that comes with it is in Korean and he has some trouble navigating though it as everything is in Korean. I tried to find a WWE ROM for the T*Omnia but got nothing.
Question: is there an easy way to translate the menus and dialogs to English.
It won't be that easy. The T*Omnia is sold only in Korea, so no WWE ROM's exist for it. There are software solutions that can translate the menus in russian or bulgarian but I don't think something similar exists for english as it is the default language if WinMobile If course you can try to hack some other translation of WinMobile (bulgarian for example) and apply it to the T*Omnia but there are still 2 issues:
1. No guarantee that such a solution will work with korean ROM. It's intendet to localize WWE ROM's. On the other hand a friend of mine localized a NL Diamond ROM successfully, so it may be worth a shot
2. The T*Omnia has a (still) non-standart resolution. Just look at the HD compatibility list for problematic apps So this is also a possible issue.
Anyway. Here is the link to such a localization program. It supports a number of languages, so it may be of some help to you.

you could always cook us an english rom- i would love a T*Omnia running english!!!
none of the software in the link seem to have the ability to localize to english
i guess having the ability to simply have the main menus in english is "good enough" untill Samsung releases a WWE version of the rom. if someone can help with that, that would be great.

It do not need to be 6.5! 6.1 is ok. But not the WWE-ASIA, not different to German or WWE with Thai charset and keyboard….

I have tried many ROMs for this device, but each of them is in English language. Only one ROM is available in Czech language, I think. I have found only this one for T-MOBILE MDA Vario IV on official T-MOBILE sites.

HTC Ozone is almost fully translated by one person ... I have more phones to translate.

I have listed a complete set of activities that you need to do for localization at the end of Beginners Guide to Windows Mobile (prepare for cooking). The various task's efforts vary quite much depending on the perfection of adaptation you want to achieve.
Especially the Settings Menu is very hard to translate due to its dependency on the system's generic provisioning handler (and related database entries for menu items).
