[HALL OF FAME] The "THANK YOU!" thread. <3! - General Topics

Feel like you owe someone?
Is there someone/something that changed everything on your device for nothing in return?
What or who revolutionised the way you use your device.
Don't be shy. Spell it out! You can use as many words as you wish in this thread without being afraid you are spamming the forum with Thank You's!
( No nudity please and please follow common sense )

So I guess I'm first then
TWolf!
Every now and then I have found these small fun apps and eyecandys for my device but it was actually today that I realized that 70 percent of them all where made by YOU! I just visited your website and I'm speachless man.
THANK YOU! YOU MAKE MY DEVICE MORE PHUN TO USE!
Now, please tell me another way of buing you a beer without me needing to play those online games of yours LOL I'm a dad of two and my online time is precious and VERY LIMITED

DuttyThroy
Yup - been around cooking for a long time he has.
Thx man.

The wiki & forums.
Up until yesterday, I had no idea how to unlock a phone and now my old 6800 is unlocked, has WinMo 6.5, GPS enabled w/ iNav and doesn't look like **** anymore. I read through most of the docs and the process went rather smoothly.
Thanks!

I would like to thank the all mods. They do a good job keeping this place in order, and if I need a good laugh, I can just read one of the many conversations they have with each other.
And of course, I'd like to thank Flar, for keeping this site up and running in the first place.
And lastly, I'd like to thank all of the members of this site who contribute, solve the problems of others, and help everybody customize the crap out of their devices, all for absolutely nothing in return. That's what this place is all about.
Dave

Thank you very much.
I'd like to thank Larna for makiing and releasing the source of the first iContact.
Schaps for the Advanced Configuration Tool.
DotFred for PimBackup.

And all the developers and cookers, that make our devices better.

i would like to thank, anichillus, nothin, dsixda, faria and many othr rom cooker for making our device usable.

Thanks to Tomal on Universal forums for keeping alive one of the best HTC devices ever!
Also to Beasty and Laurentius for their hard work on Uni in the past years
And of course to all dear Mods for keeping this site in peace!
A special thanks to Flar and Peter for keeping alive and running ok this great site!
Thank you to all of us!
XDA-DEVS, the best site on the WWW!!
Cheers,

First wow this is an old thread. I wasn't going to touch it, but I was thinking of starting something similar.
It needs to be said that everyone on xda deserves some thanks, for their initiative to become members. Big and small there is great need here and true talent.
I thank everyone who truly helps me. It is remarkable how effectively I can get a question answered. There is enough people and enough talent to recognize all the small problems and tackle the seemingly undo-able.
Its good to reflect on all that has been accomplished here.

MMuzzy's ROM is clean and fast. He's a great guy that does fast good work. I'm really amazed at how active he is and responsive he is to everyone. Kudos man!

Hashcode is an amazing developer who works with many devices. I'm glad he isn't leaving us DROID 3 owners in the dust. Thank again Hash!

I just got my new TyTn today, so I started browsing the Hermes forum and grabbed a base OS to start playing with. I wasn't overly pleased with what i was seeing. Pride and ego seem to be the prevailant theme, and I hope it never infects this group.
It reminded me that I want to thank everyone for being excellent contributers. I've found nearly everyone curtious and very helpful . On a scale of 1 to 10, I rank this forum as a 9+. I can't say the same for others
I'll still maintain the Kitchen thread, though I'll have to rely on input for the OS improvements since I won't have any hardware to flash. Hopefully it's nearly done. If there's a big issue, feel free to PM me if an needed.
*sigh* Is a faster phone worth it? Damn, I hope so...
Are you keeping your wizard? I did and tradee off every day.
Already have a buyer - gotta offset the cost of the new toy
Hey Matt, thanks for all of your hard work on the ROMS and kitchens and good luck with the new phone.

Regarding the Hermes forum...i think that as long as you don't ask any questions at all, and know a little bit of this and that...it could be pretty funny...in a sick sadistic way
Considering you own a hermes now...maybe you want to take a look at my Hermes kitchen and suggest a few changes .. considering i don't have one...and some people reported errors...some didn't so i wouldn't know what's wrong or how to improve it.

That wizard of you must of worth a fortune... like a Stradivarius violin
It`s the device that made the superb kitchen possible and solved us endless bugs...
It should of been sold as chef mattk`s device not like just another wizard.
Thank You for your contribution, i am amazed how much work you did.
YOU did bring us closer, because you shared everything you made this forum so much better.
Thank You again!
My next phone is the Athena.

It is the Core kitchen adapted for the Hermes...a little step more advanced.
The latest is the Artemis Core Kitchen..which is the more advanced(couple of bug fixed and some remakes)...and i will have to make one that will work for all (well..not all but most....you know what i mean).
BTW...you're lucky ...i want a hermes too
Have fun with your new toy
i flashed a hermes for a buddy yesteday and must say the process was alot longer but not all that difficult. there are some nice roms out for the hermes, but i agree that forums there are almost worse than what they were here last year when some of the wizard chefs were leaving
Ditto on thanks for all your hard work and patience with people. I also have a Hermes so will see you on the other side...
I agree, it's WAS bit more of a process. BUT - I already have it to where there's LESS steps to cook and flash a Hermes than the way the bepe based kitchens do And it's only my first few hours playing
Congrats on the new phone, matt. Sorry to lose a good cook.. Thanks for all the help... Still see you around though as I browse all forums to see all the gadgets here...
Hey Matt, thank you for all the hard work and personal time you spent to bring good ROM's and kitchens here. I have been using Pandora v3.2 since 6/22 and haven't had a need need or much of a desire to flash another ROM.
Enjoy your new toy.
Sorry to see you go...
Congratulations on the new Hermes. Thanks for all you have done to this part of the forum. Good luck cooking for those lucky Hermes people who now have a great person with them!
Hey Matt....sorry to see you go also
I switch to at&t a month a go and I've been using my Blackjack. I didn't think I was gonna like it but its working out really well. WM5 , Quick and reliable though .
My next device is that Kaiser...I initially wanted the Tytn but decided to wait.
I'm selling my device cuz I'm a flash junky.
Thanks for the ROMz and hard work.
You've been great to deal with .... see ya around the forum.
Thanks Matt
Man,
Now I have to get a Hermes.
Anyways thanks for all the great input and help. But please do stop by once in a while to check up on things.

I'll second this. I didn't want to get a Hermes, was going to wait for one of the new HTC Models, but who on earth wants a perfect phone.
Thanks again Matt

Sad farewell

Well all, the ride was great and I had alot of fun cooking the NTS series of roms. But like all good things, there comes an end. I have decided that it is time to move on from my beloved wizard and have purchased a Motorola Q9h Global. I wanted to thank all the chefs and users who have participated in my releases and in the forum in general. I wish you all the best of luck.
Hey Nottoosmart!
It was nice having you around! Good and constructive contribution is always welcome.
And i do know, that even if just to reminisce....u will drop by once in a while!!!
All the best with your Moto Q.
this saddens me
have tried your roms and all I can say is that you are a gem to this forum please try to visit us once in a while and please do try to contribute
Hi,
Thank you for all. Your first Rom was a fantastic step forward for us all.
Thank you
Sorry to hear you're leaving. I enjoyed your ROMs very much. You're a person of great talent, and I'm sure you'll contribute a lot wherever you'll be going.
Have fun with your new Q9!

this may not be relevant but I still find that wizard is the best thing that happened to me ... maybe i can call this a bug that you have given to me really like how wizard work aside from being sturdy... gonna miss you man
Thanks for everything
When I first found this site, and started to read and understand the idea behind flashing and upgrading - your roms (NTS) were usually at the top of everyone's must have - or dare I say, best roms out there list.
Wish you all the best - thanks again
Have a good one

Our Little World

i know this is not the place for this, i dont even know why am i doing this, but i felt the need to say it: as imperfect as it is, with all our noobs, experienced users, rom cooking just for the fun of it, donations (hell, smb was willing to donate even a whole kaiser!!), advices for free, fun all around, helpful persons willing to help just because we share a common passion...
... all these mean so much to me and in my eyes they are a lot more beautiful than the world we see everyday.
dont know exactly why i had to say this, but please go on and keep it as such. also, thanks to all of you for putting your little brick at the foundation of a beautiful building!
as smb was saying in another post, love is in the air... maybe its the spring...
Although it's a bit twee, I have to agree.
The concept of developers & users sharing ideas and code and actually HELPING each other in return for donations to the level you can afford is a fantastic concept - and one that Microsoft would do well to learn from (amongst others).
The end result is everyone is MUCH happier and the product is much better. The only problem is I suspect nobody on here could make a living from it...
I'm feeling all teary eyed now. But you guys & gals are right. Group hug.
Let's all sing together now.
Koom By Ya...... why am I the only one singing?
Sorry....
I was too busy reaching for the kleenex box
hehe... bunch of nerds... really!!... get all hot and flustered at the idea of a new rom or some cab file... it's so sweet...
isn't there a restaurant in London with no prices on the menu but where patrons pay what they believe the meal is worth? Remember hearing about it years ago. Wonder if they still in business.
Yeah there are some talented cooks/programmers on this site. It's a wonderful site for owners of pda's looking for a little doctoring of their phones and I wish xda-developers.com all the best in the future...

i must say its very touching what u wrote and very true. even though i am new to xda being here has truly been a wonderful experience.
The amount of knowledge is truly monumental.
now on singing kombaya i need some body to give me a beat ...
its not even about money or anything, its about people. just hearing that laurentius spent one whole day (9am - 12pm) to tweak a new rom for us, for you, for anybody, made me think that passion is everything, or anyway a lot more than what people are forced to do for a living.
ive been reading this forum for over 2 years now and remember a lot of things, funny posts, things that, together with the great pieces of software developed, made my day now and then. thank ya all for this!
as you say, this is a silly thread and should under no circumstances stay especially here under the rom development section. kyphur, related to a discussion from laurentius new diamond rom thread, feel free to delete all these.

as most of you probably, i am user on different forums as well. although some amount of flaming is present here as well, it is under no circumstances comparable to things happening on other sites and im grateful to all of you for this.
maybe we should have the national hymn of xdadev, for example Kombaya, somewhere to be downloaded or at least to be visible.
Me too!
Just wanted to add my agreement and appreciation for all that is offered from xda and the people that make it all work. A heart felt "Thank you very much!"
Delete this thread? NEVER...
I'll just move it to someplace more appropriate (but I did leave a perm redirect so it's always hooked to Kaiser Rom Dev)...
True, true... To be honest the only reason I keep buying HTC devices is xda-developers community Although HTC with their support and behavior is trying really hard to persuade me from these decisions on buying new HTC hardware )

Agreed, if I were head of marketing for HTC I would pay Dutty (amongst others) to continue cooking roms for our devices.
OMG, sensitive nerds! *turns around and sneaks away*
Just to also add few thoughts on this forum.
This year I bought my first ever PDA, and had to go to considerable trouble to have it delivered here. In a country where the concept of customer support is not yet in existence, and with thousand noob questions, this forum has provided all the help that I needed. So, this forum means a lot to people like me who have no access to official customer support services or other facilities available elsewhere.
My only regret is that as yet, I am unable to more actively contribute to the great community here.
Thanks XDA developers and keep it up.

Thank you Chefs. Happy Thanksgiving from USA

Mod: Please feel free to move this thread anywhere you feel appropriate. I was thinking of creating it in "Off topic" but afraid they might not see it. My apology for wasting your time :-(
Anyway, Thanksgiving is around the corner for some of us in the U.S. The intention of this thread is to give some of us an opportunity to say "Thank You" to all the chefs for all their wonderful work. I know we said plenty in their ROM's thread, but this is special without clustering their thread.
I want to personally say thank you to the following chefs for their wonderful ROMs. I know there are many out there, but these are the one that I use (order of chefs has nothing to do with the quality of their ROMs. They all GRRREATT!!).
1/ Laurentius26
2/ -G-
3/ abusalza
4/ sakajati
5/ mbarvian
Thank you...Hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving day (11/27/2008) from Bay Area California, whether you celebrate it or not.
Amen Brother. Thanks from Idaho!!
I agree, Thanks from California!
Plus to more chefs
i too would like to say thanks, adding Ruppy & Alex.
From Maryland USA... Happy Turkey Day to all, and to all a good night. (oh wait, that's later)
Thanks
I agree too, from Campeche, México. Regards
THXS!!!
Thank you all for your time, effort and ofcourse for the roms you keep producing and the knowledege you provide us with...I would have thrown my kaiser against the wall a 1000 times if not for you guys....
+Bengalih
Same here - THANKS TO ALL THE WONDERFUL CHEFS, YOU GUYS MAKE OUR DEVICES HAVE PRODUCTIVE PURPOSES OTHER THAN BEING A PAPER WEIGHT, THANKS AGAIN!!! - Glendale Heights, Illinois.
i would also like to thank the chefs for being the only reason an htc phone is still worth buying.
+ pdacorner
+ anthine
I also would like to say thank you to all the wonderfull works of all the chefs and moderator here from this site, i admit that without this site i wouldn't more appreciated my HTC devices. Thank you again.
Agreed! Happy thanksgiving to everybody!!! Hope we get some good thanksgiving meals! Oh wait, we might have them already
+1 All Around!! -Apologies for the insanely long Thank You post-
I had originally had a giant reply typed out then decided to do the spell check feature annnnd it promptly refreshed my page and deleted EVERY BIT OF MY REPLY!! lol
So, we'll make this relatively short:
Chefs: You guys simply OWN. Everything. Period. The end. lol I would have already destroyed my TILT had it not been for you guys and all of your insanely hard work. I've tried my hand at cooking but I've come up rather empty-handed. I managed to make a working Apache ROM but can't make a successful one for the Kaiser and I know how much work I put into trying to make it work so I can only imagine how much time and effort you guys really put into making these works of art. HTC and the various carriers really owe you guys a hhuuggee THANK YOU and wouldn't kill them to toss you guys a few dollars here and there for what you guys do. While PDAs may be popular in the business world, XDA and all the chefs and contributers have made them something that new phone users all the way to uber tech geeks would love. I do believe that had it not been for this site and all the people involved that a LOT more people would be stuck with generic phones (not to knock companies like Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson, Apple...ok...so I'll bash Apple for hours lol...but HTC has all but run away with the PDA market and I love it) that wouldn't or couldn't do half of what they want. A big complaint I hear from people is that the stock PDA ROMs are too hard to work with or is just too much phone but once they see what all customizations that XDA offers and just how easy this place has made it to break free of crummy stocks then they jump at the chance to have a phone that they both love and can effectively use so, with that being said:
HTC!!! SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE!!! THEY KEEP YOU EMPLOYED AND KEEP YOUR PHONES FLYING OFF THE SHELF!!!
=]
I do believe that this site should be on the company payroll lol
One of my biggest reason that I stuck w/ my TILT was the fact that I stumbled across this site while looking up info on it and was THRILLED to see what all I could do with it. (All we need now is a motion sensor and some REAL 3D drivers **hint hint hint hint @ HTC** and TRUE TouchFlo 3D support lol)
Anyways, so much for that being short =]
I just appreciate you guys so much more than you'll ever know.
There have been soooo many times that I have wanted to simply DESTROY my TILT for not having something or not doing what it's supposed to but then I hop on here and VIOLA! I find just what I needed to know to fix it.
I don't think I've ever been as happy with a phone as I have been with my TILT and I've owned a LOT of phones and even used to work for a third-party retailer of AT&T and Sprint phones so I got to play with a LOT of different phones (which include the Samsung Instinct, the LG Vu, the Palm Centro, a trillion different variations of Sony Ericssons, several BlackBerrys and even the oh-so-disappointing Apple iPhone) and I always laughed when people asked me which phone I owned and when I pulled it out of the case they'd all just stare at it and drool over it (and it's nicely customized ROM. No more ugly stock rom =D ) Needless to say that I think me carrying my TILT around at work probably killed a few of our phone sales since the only place we offered it was online and the AT&T corp store had it in-store lol
So thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU!! =]
You guys rock!
Happy Turkey Day to all from the great state of Alabama and here's to all of the awesome people here in our XDA family!
NOW GO EAT SOME TURKEY!!!!!!!!!!
I just picked up my first PPC, the FUZE like a week and a half ago... knew nothing about flashing or even installing apps. Flashed ROMeOS yesterday and am loving it!
Thank Chefs!! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone

How about some thanks to the guys that have shared so much!

This is a thread for thanks to those who've shared their time and work with this community. I'd like to take this moment to name some names and say "thank you" for making my Android and Thunderbolt experience better. First, I'd like to thank Chingyo51 for his ROMs. They've been my daily driver for about 2 years starting with incredibly re-engineered. I'd also like to extend thanks to Ziggy471 for his work on the Android kernels. Much thanks to Imoseyon and Nerozehl for their work on the gingerbread kernel, and to TwistedUmbrella for making script management of the kernel features idiot-proof. I'd like to thank Team BAMF for their development which has produced tools and dividends for other devs. I'd specifically like to thank jcase and adrynalyn for the hard work they've done in rooting this device and chasing down the issues with random bricking pre-MR2. I appreciate what all of you have done and you have my respect and gratitude.
This should be a place of respect and gratitude. If you'd like to publicly thank your favorite dev, please do so! I don't see any reason this shouldn't be one of the longest threads in this forum!
However I like the idea of having a haven of nice posts and friendly people, but why do you think we have the "Thanks" button?
fishing

Very well said loonatic. My ThunderBolt has become a new hobby of mine and I have the devs to thank. I've done my best not to clog up any threads with "thanks downloading now! "
I am concerned tho with how things have been here these past few weeks. All the negativity, flaming, devs leaving. Maybe some people shouldn't take all this stuff so seriously. For me this is just a hobby..... somethin to do for fun.
Again loonatic very well said and thanks to all the devs for making my phone awesome. Not sure if you mentioned DROIDTH3ORY or LIQUID they have been doing some really great work also and seem to be the most active on XDA lately.
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
Indeed the "thanks"button is good, but its not the more powerful statement saying it in your own words can be. Most of us know how things have been around here and I'd just like to add some positivity. If my friend were to cook me up something like A custom ROM, I'd be thankful as hell and I would be talking about it. I'd like to think of these guys on here as friends, just the same. I don't want foul opinions or negativity on this thread. I've noticed there's plenty of other threads for that.
I do like DroidTh3ory's work. I like his thoughts on how a ROM should be set up. I tried and earlier release and ill have to go back and try a newer one. Definitely good work and a valuable contributor! Thank you for pointing that out!
Nicely stated guys. I'd just like to thank all devs out there who put their efforts into making our tbolt experience a more enjoyable. Obviously, I cannot try everything out there, but I certainly appreciate that all of them take their personal time to do these things for us!
Thank you all.
Sent from my rooted HTC Thunderbolt.
Thanks to droidth3ory and xpack90. The've been awesome.
