Has anyone got the Microsft Myphone app to work to locate their phone??

Hi guys
the other day i lost my HD2 walking the dog..... god i was panicking (spelt right?? who knows?)
Tried searching everywhere, couldn't find it.. called it a few times.. ring ring.. nothing...
So dejected i went home and tried the Microsoft MyPhone service.. which you can use to
locate your phone...
send messages to it
force it to go extra loud and scream (well pretty much)
wipe it remotely...
however i got a few issues
the location service didnt work..
don't know if the loud screaming worked..
i was able to send messages to it..
LUCKILLY!!!! i called it again and someone had already picked it up and i popped round and got it..... PHEW!!!!...
Are there any limitations on the location service in the UK?
is it a provider issue?
Anyone tried it at all?
Ta
I actually was testing Microsft My Phone today to see if it can detect where my phone is, it failed. Is there any good app out there that can actually lock and detect your phone where ever it is...

disagree...i tested it and it was 98% accurate, works fine!
Works flawlessly (most of the time) for me, and I'm in the UK.
EDIT: I mean yes it does know where my phone is... not entirely sure about being able to remotely lock / send messages to it though... haven't tried that.
AFAIK it works worldwide but only sends its location when it synchronises and i think it also needs enabling in the application

[Q] Raphael unable to recieve/make calls but always shows connection !

Odd fault this (assume hardware) ! Just occurred with no recent software added.
Boot device or simply toggle radio off/on & it will work great but the following morning it will be unable to receive or make calls but carrier messages still work (GPRS account use ect)
Tried other SIMs & carriers & handset acts up the same.
Have tried quite a few radio versions & done a complete reflash of HardSPL Radio & New ROM but problem persists. Bit upset as handset is like new condition & I was happy with it :-(
Any ideas !
Anyone breaking a TouchPro !
whether your devices have invisible settings such as in SE Xperia ..?

Wifi Calling "ER06 Sim Not Ready"

Hi,
Just got my Galaxy Relay in the mail last night. So far I'm liking it for the most part (aside from the crapload of bloat). Only real issue I'm having is that my WiFi calling is constantly trying to connect and fails with ER06 "SIM Not Ready". I got this error both before and after doing the OTA to JB. I'm coming from the HTC G2 where WiFi calling worked more or less perfectly, so I know my account/SIM supports it. Already double checked my SIM card to make sure it's the new model needed for WiFi calling. Noticed my e911 address was an old address so I updated that (not that it should really matter as long as I have an address there). Also updated my device in my tmo account settings in case that might make a difference. Updated all this stuff last night and still getting the same error. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas what to try next? Thanks for the help.
Jeff
One more quick piece of info - the first thing I did when I took the phone out of the box was followed the steps for SIM unlocking the phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255892. I haven't been able to test with a different SIM card yet to verify the unlock worked, but I'm wondering if this could have screwed up the WiFi calling. Can anyone verify whether WiFi calling still works after SIM unlocking?
Ok good news everyone! After some more searching the wide wide webs I found some info for other phones having the same problem and the solution was to call up tmo and have them reset your iHLR settings. Don't know what it means but I told the support rep to try it and he knew what I meant. After he did it he told me to restart the phone and that it could take up to 2 hours to have an effect (probably just an easy way for him to get out of the chat session). But anyway as soon as I rebooted it was working. Hope this is useful for other people who bump into this problem. Thanks!
Jeff
Disabled Wi-Fi calling. Problem Solved.

Couldn't find Mobile Network Type

Hello, Recently I have bought an Unlocked At&T LG G3 The seller told me that the phone has a bad IMEI But it's unlocked to be used interntionally. When I received it, It's working fine, except the data network speed trough EDGE is too slow. As yo can see on the screenshot below I couldn't find the option to change the network type. and I'm stuck at "E" which mean EDGE.

The phone's model is LG-D850 and it's running android 4.4.2 KitKat. it has no IMEI when I dial *#06# it shows IMEI: 0-05 on Settings/about phone/Status... it says IMEI: 0
Anyone here to help?
First, here are the possible reasons why you don't have an IMEI:
The phone was reported lost or stolen in the past.
The phone is still active on the owner's wireless carrier account.
There is money owed on the wireless carrier account to which the ESN/MEID/IMEI is connected.
For the reasons above, this community does not support such devices and you will probably not get any help.
But, this can also happen during a bad flash, so to fix the issue, you have 3 options:
Reset, unroot, then root and flash again
Try the suggested steps in this video
Find a company that can fix the problem by sending the phone to them

Thanks for your reply, I'm not seeking to restore the IMEI. I just want to have the option to switch mobile network type. Should I root the phone and install a custom ROM?

My bad, thought you wanted the IMEI back. In that case, the E (edge) is showing up could be due to Maroc Telecom throttling your connection or their towers could be far way (happens when you travel cross country too). Anyway, if you want to fiddle with network settings and try to get it to work BEFORE attempting to flash any ROM, try the following [3845#*855# 3845#*850#] USSD code from your stock dialer. You will get a hidden menu containing a juicy list of options and settings, so what you are probably looking for is the "LTE-Only" option (I am not sure though, but you can look through the settings).
And as always, attempt the suggestions AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I'm living at a major city, here the 4G works great. So yeah I have to change the mobile network type since it is on EDGE by defaut I guess.
I attemted the USSD code however it says "connection problem or invalid mmi code" after I hit dial. I have also tried a bunch of codes before but no luck.
I think I will falsh the phone that's the option left. I just have rooted the phone, then I will install TWRP and I will try to flash a ROM in it. What do youu suggest me to use from those ROMs posted here ?

I get the same error if I use a third party dialer app (i.e., Dialer) until I tried the stock phone app.

I haven't flashed any custom ROMs on my LG, but from experience, each device somehow reacts differently to custom ROMs. For instance, I've flashed my S.G. Note (i717) over 30 times and some ROMs were stable at first then started having issues with them.
The best advice I can give you, is to pick a ROM from the list you posted and check the comments to see if it is stable or too many users have issues with it.
