Is it possible for an app to access the phone sound stream? I'm thinking of doing a voicemail app that records the message to the local SD card.

Hi All,
Loving my Nexus S so far, but I am struggling to replicate one piece of functionality that I had on my old Nokia N95.
I can't find a voicemail app that will answer calls and record voicemail on the phone itself.
There are options for using an external service (my service provider, Google Voice, Youmail, HulloMail) but I am looking for something that will work in multiple countries and with multiple SIM cards when I travel and won't end up with me having fragmented voicemails and / or voicemail charges, that can record and manage voicemails on the actual phone itself.
I had this with the Nokia N95 using Advanced Call Manager (v2.78) from MelonMobile.
However, their Android version (1.02) doesn't, yet at least, offer this functionality.
Any suggestions on an alternative?
Thanks,
Alan.
hi.
I wonder if there is any app to change the tune a caller hears when he calls me (instead of hearing the regular beeps until I answer, the caller hears a music/voice file).
This is something similar to the recorded message you hear when you call to any service provider, until they answer you.
I am not sure if this is technically possible but here is my suggestion of how this could work:
When a call arrives, the app "takes control" over the call, picks it up, and plays a song/mp3 file that I have chosen. Meantime, the phone at my end rings.
And then there are two options:
1.I pick up the phone, the app stops playing the file and lets me "take control" over the call
2.I don't pick up after X time, the app disconnects the call.
I am not sure how it is in another contries but in Israel this service is offered by most of the cellular companies. However, there is no possibility to choose your own file, you have to choose between a few songs available in their database.
I am sorry if this this post is in the the wrong section. If it is please transfer to the right place.
It can be done, but it would not work properly.
You would have to send data from your phone to another one, which means a call would first have to connect.
If you were to make it work, you would have to auto-pickup all calls and then play the message. It would cost people money
Uh. Not when the operator does not support this. At least not in a way that would not p**s the hell out of the caller by paying for listening to your music and eventually result in your paying the roaming charges in case someone listens to your music while you are abroad.

No, you can't. It's all in the hands of the provider.
Hi,
I have a Xiaocai X9 dual sim phone. I have two sim cards with complementary contracts. The first sim comes with free texts and internet, while the second sim card comes with free calls. However, if I accidentally use the first sim card for calls or the second for texts and internet, it can get pretty expensive.
I use MIUI and often it automatically selects sim card 1 instead of 2 for calls. Therefore, I need a way to disable or block all outgoing calls on sim card 1 and ideally all outgoing texts and internet connections for sim card 2.
Please post here if you know a solution. Thanks!
Does anyone know a handset or app which allows you to restrict calls to small set of numbers, while allowing SMS to any number?
I've been playing around with my HTC Desire S, and you can use Fixed Dialing Numbers (FDN) to restrict calls to a small set of numbers, but that also restricts SMS to that same set of numbers.
I'm using miui v5. While making call it asks from which
Sim you want to place call. Also for sms while sending sms you get 2 options sim1 sim2 select appropriate option to send sms. I have not seen any song to set default option for sms/call

Click to collapse
I also use MIUI v5. There are certain scenarios when MIUI automatically starts a call with sim1 without the prompt. Furthermore, there is also the risk to accidentally select the wrong sim card for a call or a text message - as it happened to my once. I therefore still try to find a fool-proof solution - either an app or an OS.
Hi guys
I have the same problem and seriously want to solve this problem with miui v5 on TCL s950
when I'm trying to make a call from contacts list it use sim1 automatically!
If it haave any solution please help....
Hi everyone
I want an app that can take phone calls made with my mobile phone, and be able to stream the call to my Windows PC. It may sound strange, but simply, I need an app that allows you to make your phone calls through your PC without needing to access external services (obviously i have a cellular network provider, I don't need an account to one of the "online call services"). I can't seem to find any. do you know of any?
I need app that records all call and sync continuously to any cloud. The underlying reason that I need to control my telesales (people who make ~200 calls / day). Can you suggest any app can do that?
Tried Automatic Call Recorder but they got problem with synchronization to my Dropbox (couldn't find any there), and they limit to 1000 calls only even if the pro version.
