Why Call history is limited to <300 calls??

Dear all, I have noticed that on my himalaya WM2005 even if the call history duration is increased to "never" the history retains the maximum call log of upto 300 calls only . changing the registry value of HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\CallHistoryMax to any value (from 000000FF to FFFFFFFF) no improvement is noticed.
Is there any way to increase the call log memory allocation size?????

you can Set the Folder variable in the Node macros so that calls will get filed into specific folders. This will expedite locating specific types of calls.
Keep the Call History tidy: delete calls that are no longer needed. If you are using the default Call History, use the Compact Call History File option in the Tools menu to reduce the size of the database. If you are using a custom Call History, use your own database tools to maintain the Call History. An excessively large Call History will slow down Active Call Center, so keep the Call History as small as possible.
-If the Call History gets corrupted or there is a need to start with a blank Call History, copy the file named "Blank Phone Call Log.mdb" to "Phone Call Log.mdb" in the Active Call Center program folder. The "Phone Call Log.mdb" file is the Call History used by Active Call Center; the blank log is a blank template provided to accommodate these situations.
-If you have Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visual Basic, or some other means to read Microsoft Access 2000 databases, you can access the default Call History directly and manipulate it. The default Call History is saved in the file "Phone Call Log.mdb" in the Active Call Center program folder. Do not change the format of the existing Call History database tables. More details on using the Call History for advanced applications is provided in the next section.
-For applications that do not require use of the Call History, Call History features can be selectively disabled. For example, they may be limited to saving only time and CallID numbers by changing the settings under Tools ... Voice Telephony Settings to not save data to the Call History. Call History features can also be disabled completely by unchecking the Use Call History to generate a sequential Call ID option. This can significantly improve application performance where detailed logging is not required or wher logging is managed within the scripts.
Same problem with HTC Pro2 win 6.5 - registry key is not working.
So, I installed software festinger.net
freeware
and in settings of this soft - menu - there is option to set log file length to 10000 calls - so I did it and now log started growth ... please try
Oh yes but actual WM6.5 log is not growing - same 300 records only. 10000 calls are collecting in another file by Software.
Problem was partially solved - I can keep call log in another software,
but to overcome limit of calls log in 300 records in WM 6????

GrooVeIP Google voice problem

For almost a year I never had a problem but yesterday i don't what happened. I use GrooVeIP as my primary way to make phone calls. I do not have cell phone service. Most of the time I'm on a WiFi network. Since yesterday GrooVeIP will let me make phone calls but i cant receive them it will go straight to voice mail without a single ring. All voice mails go into the spam folder in Google voice even though i have no filters set up. All calls are check marked to be forwarded to Google chat. There is no call screening in place. Do not disturb is set to off. Global Spam Filtering is off. On GrooVeIP settings on the app i have tried, Partial wake lock and High pref WiFi lock but has no effect. I have tried most settings but with no resolve. Wondering if other people are having this problem or somebody has a fix? Please feel free to ask any questions...Thanks!!
After playing around with google voice i found that it was marking everything as spam. I have to go threw all contacts and mark them as not spam and it seems to be working.

KitKat 4.4.2 problem
Hi
I am using Samsung Galaxy S2 with KitKat 4.4.2 Resurrection Remix ROM.
Since I upgraded from stock 4.1.2 to the custom KitKat ROM, the switch for recording option does not work for me. I can select one of the four options (MIC, VOICE_CALL, VOICE_UPLINK, VOICE_DOWNLINK), however, when I leave the app and return to it later (e.g. after making a call) it is automatically changed back to MIC. And of course, it does not record the call "nicely". I also tried to restart the phone after selecting another option, but without success.
On the old ROM everything worked perfectly.
Have you tested it on KitKat yet?

I don't think so. Am sorry for your loss. I know how it must feel losing important calls especially with no recycle bin function in android. There are various apps (with varying success rates) on playstore that promise to restore your deleted media files. I was able to restore a couple of deleted pictures on low quality that way. You may be able to restore your call files too. All the best.

The recorded call data can't sync with dropbox.
Now that can sync with GDrive.
After that sync wtih GDrive , you can't see the recorded call data from your GDrive.
Because the recored call data is stored to GDrive's hidden area..
It asks a lot of permissions huh?!

Rooted Pixel 3 Users in the U.S.A., Please Answer a Question/Do a Test for me.

Hi,
I'm trying to figure what options there are for robust call recording apps on rooted Pixel 3's.
I'd like to know if a specific call recording application functions on Andriod Pie (or later) after rooting the device.
Here's the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder&hl=en_US
If those running a rooted OP6T would install the app and make a few calls I'd appreciate it.
Here's a number to Health and Human Services Office of Civil Right (all prerecorded menus; we won't bother anyone) to do test calls: (800) 368-1019
You may need to do some basic setup. Make sure call recording occurs automatically, or allow the overlay and manually engage the call recording.
For those willing to go to some effort, if at first the app doesn't work, the "Recording Settings" can be tweaked.
I don't know what the difference is between methods, other than that they change how the app tries to get voice data to record.
Can you hear both yourself and the the caller in the recording?
What recording settings were used?
What format did the recording save to (AAC/MP3/Wav?)
What is the sound quality of the recording?
Do any of the above change if you plug in a USB-C earbud/microphone or earbud/microphone attached via USB-C to 3.5mm/TRRS.
(note: bluetooth headsets have compatibility issues even on phones the app works; headset would need to be wired for this test, though info on Bluetooth would be nice if one is so inclined to provide it)
In the applications inbox for recordings, does the number or contact information show up, or is it listed only as "outgoing" or "incoming" call.
Alternatively, I'd be interested in any information/experiences rooted users may have with other call recording software. Such as Another Call Recorder - Unchained (https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/com.nll.acr). In particular, reliability and call recording quality (as good as 'the call').

I am not going to do all of that, but Boldbeast (paid) is probably your best bet for a nice high quality recording but it requires a bunch of tweaking on a pixel running android 10.
I had absolutely 0 issues using it with my P3 on android 9, but once upgraded to android 10 the only way to get it to work (even with a magisk module they recommended) means losing your "Hey Google" and "Now Playing" auto-detect music feature within the OS (both which I like). So its either stick with Android 9 and have 0 issues, or upgrade to Android 10 and deal with a bunch of BS trying to get the Boldbeast app recorder to work. Google in android 10 is trying to block anyone from using a call recorder all together, they just want it this way. So, I digress.
My previous phone running Android 8 (which I use as a backup) has the app you listed, "Automatic Call Recorder PRO" (paid version obviously) and functions like a dream but its not my daily driver.
If I ultimately had to record a phone call, I swap my sim into that phone and have a nice WAV/MP3 file saved in the cloud.
TLDR; I have no real answer for you
Supposedly Google is adding call recording into their phone app. I have not seen it yet.

"With Google Voice, you press a button to start recording the call and then a voice comes on and announces that the call is being recorded. Everybody can hear the voice, so everyone knows that the call is being recorded."
The whole point to using a recorder app is so that someone doesn't know they are being recorded (this is legal is certain states, such as mine).
With an announcement "You are being recorded" kind of defeats the whole purpose. Unless maybe you are trying to keep questionable people honest over the phone with a .mp3 file/proof.
Maybe a Magisk/root hack would be able to turn off this message if google so-chooses to embed it that into the app.

That's my conundrum as well. Legal for me to record. Moreover it's better to have an app automatically record all calls, and be able to organize them into a database with call notes to keep track of who and when. Half of my want to find a way to continue using the existing call recording app, is to preserve the existing database.

Right, that would not be legal in my state.
