I'm assuming this is the right forum? I'm new here.
As of late, my Incite has been neither vibrating nor flashing when I get a text message. Obviously, I've made sure both of those options are checked in the settings menu. I've even made sure the option for "new text message" in my registry is set to 6. But still, there remains a surprising lack of vibrations and flashes. Any solutions?
Also, my Audio Manager for M2D has been messing up. I had to remove the tab as it caused my phone to freeze, but even when I open the Audio Manager file in my Windows folder, it simply says "Audio Manager" on my top task bar and doesn't open my library or now playing or anything of that nature. This is quite unfortunate, due to the recent death of my Zune (R.I.P.).
On a more off topic note, I've developed this weird rash on my left eyelid. I call it my zombie eye. I've been putting vitamin E on it, but it still gets all flaky and whatnot. Weiiiird ****. Seriously. Is anyone a medical professional of any kind?

Merry Christmas all, and sorry to bother you on a holiday..
I've recently started using AEBPlus, and thru it's task manager, noticed that whenever I use the Phone, the 'Phone' process lingers on. I'm unable to terminate it. If I switch to some other program and press the green button to make another call, a second 'Phone' process starts and it continues to run in the background after I'm done with it. This can pile up eventually, leading to 3, 4 or more such processes.
It's not a bug with AEBplus's task manager, because I'm actually able to switch to each individual instance of 'Phone' and use the features. This results in unnecessary usage of RAM/CPU so I end up soft-resetting after every call.
So is there any way to prevent multiple instances of 'Phone' running?, or, a setting to terminate the process after I end the call and minimize/close it, or, any program I can use to manually close the 'Phone' task? I could whip up a MortScript to look up the 'Phone' window name and end it, but I don't think it'd work as AEB's task manager isn't able to end it..
I am using the default windows dialer btw, on a non-htc WM6 PPC.
Even in 2010, on WM6.5 ROM, I am facing exactly same issue! Not sure if it actually means problem i.e. more memory/CPU time.
fdcTask Manager shows all "Phone" applications hosted by cprog.exe.
Weird one here, 'cause I can't seem to figure out what could be wrong.
I have owned 3 WinMo devices over the last few (many, I'm very careful) years but something has been bugging me with all devices; WM2003, WM5, last one WM6.1 recently upgraded via official T-Mo Rom to WM6.5.
* Multitasking has always been a problem, usually could only run few progs until an app closed itself (without warning) or I got low mem message
* Sometime running a single app, nothing else, even the single app like for instance Opera or Skyfire (while viewing a light site) browser would suddenly be gone (while browsing, or when turning on TP2 from standby).
I had the above with ALL my WinMo phones, all the above mentions OS. From almost fresh out of the box till using a device for more then 2 years. I thought it was just me, or that this was just something WinMo does standard and I would just have to get used to it. But since viewing vids on YouTube of for instance someone showing of his new TP2 while having about 10 heavy apps open in his taskmanager and then even showing Terminator 4 on high quality in CorePlayer. I thought *damn?* I didn't even see a bit of extra lag on his device?
Through Advanced Config i turned off the automatic closing of apps when mem usage is high, thought this would solve it; no dice...
Then I started thinking maybe it is an app I installed on every device so far. This is not really the case, although I do almost always install SPB Pocket Plus, and then via Pocket Plus menu uninstall almost all tools except the task bar battery indicator which I found handy, but this simple thing couldn't be causing all this on all different devices right? And every app I ever install I always check for a newer version before installing, or redownload software instal packs when something (like moving / copying, etc) could have damaged the install pack.
On my TP2, it's been getting more and more recent that most apps are just suddenly "gone" while doing nothing spectacular (just TaskMan all the time to check mem and almost never run multiple apps anymore simply trying to prevent that one app disappearing).
Is there a way to get a log file or something to be able to see what is causing all this, cause today was getting to be a "last straw"; both my Opera and SkyFire closes about 20 times in one hour, switched to Pocket IE... And again gone. Sometimes almost immediately, sometimes after using a few minutes. Actually one of the few apps that keeps itself (almost annoyingly) present and never shuts down is PockeTwitter which I started recently, nearly everything else (including standard ROM WinMo software like HTC Album and more) disappear when they feel like it.
Help help... It's like a curse following me...
Ps. To prevent dumb answers: I'm fairly smart with PC's and windows; I used to work in the IT business. So I do indeed know (a bit ) what I'm talking about. I can help other people with their PC and phone trouble; but this is just driving me crazy since there's no error message, nothing to help me figure out what's been bugging me al these years with WinMo.
I would say install a custom rom and then see how things go. My touch HD was a really annoying phone to begin with with all sorts of little bugs but after installing various custom roms nearly everything is ok.
(my phone does sometimes black screen and it needs the reset button to fix- only happens after 5 or more days without reseting)
(Posted here because I can't post in the developer forum yet. Longtime lurker; first time poster )
I Rooted CleanRom Inheritance 3.4.6-10.4.4.25/US ODEX and about an hour after I got a screen pop-up asking me what prog I wanted to use. I had no idea what was going on in the background to require it. I kept randomly getting them and got pissed so I selected a file manager. Sure enough, there were pics of whatever I had on the screen.
Any ideas what would be causing this?
While it isn't critical it sure is annoying.
Yep I have searched the thread to no avail. Did I miss it?
**Critical info**
I have disabled the "recently used" long press function in the ASUS Customized setting area. I can use the pwr/down vol to take one.
There is nothing on the top of my tablet to cause it by inadvertently pressing the buttons.
It happens randomly regardless of what I am doing and regardless of whether or not I am docked (I have the ASUS OEM dock).
Thanks all,
Lndcrsn
Have you by chance installed any rogue apps? Making intermittent screenshots is a known feature of malware hoping to catch your login details for websites and bank accounts and so on. I'm definitely not saying this is what is going on on your 700, but it might just be the case. Standing in your shoes, I'd wipe completely clean and start over. I do that for my Flashing OCD every once in a while anyway.
Hmm..
It would appear that Lookout had some sort of virus. I DL'd it from Google Play and it immediately popped the "choose application" screen with this:
I found this great free app called Lookout. You should download it for your phone! xxxx://bit.ly/XxXXXx (I deleted the URL info to prevent someone from clicking it)
Went with Avast now.
So...wtf? Is there a virus/bug out there that modifies Lookout?
@Marty
Thx man. I followed your advice and was able to find it that way. When I reDL'd it popped the notification and I used Evernote to figure it out.

Well, more info...
It is still happening but, only when docked on the keyboard.
It happens randomly still and, happens when the tab (docked) sits for a while. The "select prog for..." screen pops up and I select evernote to verify.
It wouldn't still happen with a complete wipe and reinstall would it?
Has anyone else had this happen with CR.I.?
hmm...

Last few days I had Kingo SuperBattery app installed on my android tablet and last time I turned it on the touchscreen was VERY messed up. I had a Messenger chat-head and some other notifications but the device was very very slow and I couldn't click/touch anything properly and it looked like I had one of those viruses you get on the PC that make it slow as sh** no matter the hardware you have. It looked like somebody else was using my device and all the widgets and icons in my home-screen were trying to move themselves and other weird stuff like that. The first thing I did was to turn-off the wi-fi and it was quite difficult and it didn't even work. I tried using the Clean Master Antivirus app and start a scan and it did not find anything but I also did a phone boost with it. I didn't see any problems with the the device while in the CM Antivirus app, it was kinda like a way of taking a deep breath and then again the same stuff in the home-screen. I couldn't click/touch on the chat-head from messenger and something was always trying to open my notifications slide. The reason I used my tablet was actually because I was trying to fix my phone using my PC (bootloop issue) and the only way to get the .ftf (ROM file) in the sd-card was to use another device (I couldn't find an sd-adaptor) so I tried using my tablet :/ but then here is the "new" problem I'm telling you about ^^^^^^^^^^. I prayed to God at some point and things started getting easier . I managed to go to developer options and enable "Show Touches" and that's when I saw there was always a dot right above the notifications area (for those who don't know, the Show Touches setting shows a dot on every spot where there is touch). I opened the CM app again and found that the persistent touch-dot (if that is its name) disappeared. I kind of found some tricks to use the touchscreen properly after I realised how the problem works. And then I uninstalled the Kingo Battery Saving app and the problem was gone!
Moral lesson: be careful with third-party, rooting, and suspicious looking apps.

I know i saw others complain about lag, but as i am texting the side bar with the settings pops up randomly constantly as im typing its driving me nuts! Anyone have this issue or know how to fix? Its not just in text its on internet browser too as i type another box with settings pops up. Ive had nothing but issues with this update ?
I have a similar issue with my S7. Pretty sure I turned this off before the Nougat OS upgrade and it came back. There's one game specifically that I play that has small buttons on the right side of the screen, and about half the time the stupid sidebar comes up. I've looked around and don't see how to remove it.
There's a lot of old posts about disabling multi window but that doesn't seem to apply to the current devices.
Edit: So after wondering why I couldn't find barely info on this, I thought maybe it's not the S7's software but my launcher. Lo and behold, the dock was from Go Launcher. Going into Go Settings and then Dock I was able to again disable the side dock (It was marked as disabled, had to enable then disable). Hope that helps someone experiencing this!
