I know i saw others complain about lag, but as i am texting the side bar with the settings pops up randomly constantly as im typing its driving me nuts! Anyone have this issue or know how to fix? Its not just in text its on internet browser too as i type another box with settings pops up. Ive had nothing but issues with this update ?
I have a similar issue with my S7. Pretty sure I turned this off before the Nougat OS upgrade and it came back. There's one game specifically that I play that has small buttons on the right side of the screen, and about half the time the stupid sidebar comes up. I've looked around and don't see how to remove it.
There's a lot of old posts about disabling multi window but that doesn't seem to apply to the current devices.
Edit: So after wondering why I couldn't find barely info on this, I thought maybe it's not the S7's software but my launcher. Lo and behold, the dock was from Go Launcher. Going into Go Settings and then Dock I was able to again disable the side dock (It was marked as disabled, had to enable then disable). Hope that helps someone experiencing this!

I don't know if I just never noticed this since I just got the phone on Friday but every time I slide out the keyboard, it'll show the landscape home screen for a few seconds and then open up the phone and I have to hit home to get back. Same when I slide the keyboard back in. I have changed a couple things like the clock, icons, slider, landscape icons, and so that the portrait left softkey opens contacts instead of phone. Any ideas? Thanks!
im actually having the same problem, everytime i open up the phone say to respond to a text message or something the phone screen (dialer screen) pops up and i have to close it and then go back to my text message inbox.
anyone know whats causing this?
This is a known problem that HTC needs to do something about. Some of the custom ROM's tend to do this with less frequency.
Same problem here! Have had the phone for around 3 weeks, just started happening yesterday.
Any solutions?
Thread isn't getting much attention.
I flashed NATF's latest Raphael RoOM (4.1) around a week ago, and I haven't had the problem again.

I believe theres a reg edit for this, but you must re enable it after a while.
Hi i had thesame problem, is something to do with animated taskbar icons, uninstal them and see whats hapened
I am using the updated official ROM for my AT&T Fuze. I am using this ROM in its "unbloated" state, using just the WinMo interface and no TF3D installed. I am pretty sure that I don't remember this issue being present in the old stock ROM.
Basically what is happening is that when I am using a program in full screen (such as PIE, Opera, or Java apps) and the orientation of the screen changes, either by sliding the keyboard out or by rotating the phone, the start menu and title bar will pop up and cover part of the screen's real-estate. It will not go away until the program is minimized via the Home button and then switched back to. And, of course, the problem just comes back the next time orientation changes...
Are any of you out there aware of a fix for this issue? I am surprised that I haven't seen anyone else mention it, am I the only person with this issue?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Nobody else has this issue?
I have the same problem, and it drives me nuts. Sorry, I have not found a fix yet.
+1, no solution either. Pressing the volume button which brings up the volume control also helps but is no solution.
bump.
No one has any insight about this annoying issue? I have tweaked all kinds of registry settings trying to stumble upon something that might fix it but I've had no luck.
I have the same issue, very annoying. I thought it might be use of Batti, but it this happening even with no add-ins??
Yeah, this happens with no add-ins. I am running vanilla winmo with no TF3D.
Another easy way to get it to disappear is to click on the start menu to open it, then click on it again to close it. The title bar will disappear again, until the phone orientation changes again.
I can't imagine why there hasn't been more interest in this thread. Seems like an issue somehow related to the ROM update that a lot of people should be having problems with. But I'm not knowlegeable about the inner workings of ROMs to figure out what is causing the problem and come up with a fix..
I don't really want to switch to a third party rom, because I don't care for all the touch flo bells and whistles. I just want a basic, fast interface which is what I get from the stock ROM just from bypassing the bloat installs and using the WinMo interface. But with the taskbar constantly popping up ruining my fullscreen programs like youtube, scummvm, opera, any java app, etc... I might have to make a switch just out of frustration.
Hey all.
Finally got the P2P today, and so far it has been a very positive experience. I'm coming from the rather old Samsung Galaxy Note 3, so its a major upgrade in terms of screen size, resolution and raw power.
There a few annoyances though, which I really hope there is a solution for.
First, on the galaxy note the left button acts as a settings menu throughout the ui. Is there something similar here? Or at least a workaround?
Second, in full screen apps I can't simply pull down the notification bar by sliding down at the top. I have to exit the app, which is so impractical i'm thinking it must be a bug?
Hope somebody knows something i don't.. thanks in advance .
Re: the menu button in the tray, that's gone on all new Android phones. Blame Google. Menu's in the app now, upper right corner, the vertical ellipsis. Means if you have an old program without a built-in menu & the developer hasn't updated it, you're screwed. Won't be able to open menu.
And the top notification area? I just tried pulling it down in 4 different apps--worked in all. Try pulling from top/off-screen to down.
Thanks for the reply.
Guess I will have to live with the settings change like everyone else.
Much worse is the lack of notification bar. I tried with apps like chrome, gmail and 9gag that displays the bar at all times. No problem there. The problem is in fullscreen apps that hides the bar. Like the camera app, games and the AR apps. Tried your advise with placing finger outside screen, no change. The problem is both in portrait and landscape mode.

Got the latest update? December brought mine to PB2-690Y_161202
Yes, got the latest update.
I'm gonna try a factory reset tonite to see if that helps.
Tried a factory reset, no change. Gonna write to Lenovo to see if a fix is coming.
What apps are you having the issue with being unable to pull down the notification tray? I play a few games on my P2P and they all run full screen and I am able to pull down the notification window in each of them.
I play Dominations and Boom Beach mainly. Also got the problem on the Tango apps that use full screen. Such as the Dino app, Holo e.t.c.
Odd fact: When the app runs a video, like the beginning of the dino app, the notification bar can be pulled down. But when it goes to the regular mode, I can't.
Assuming you haven't messed with anything in Developer settings or put an app on it that is screwing with the touchscreen, then you absolutely have a buggy phone. You need to return it.
This phone make calls over 4G VoLTE?

I tried Boom Beach, Star Warss Force Arena, and Hill Climb Racing and I cannot pull the notification tray down in any of them. This is not really a problem for me. I know I could on my last phone(Nexus 6), but it doesn't bother me that I can't now.
All,
First time poster, frequent visitor of XDA Forums. I've come across an odd issue that I don't know how to solve and I'm hoping some of you smarter than me folks can get me squared away.
I have a Galaxy S8+ from AT&T running Android 7.0 and Samsung Experience 8.1.
Problem:
I've recently noticed a delay or completely non-updating interface on my phone. It updates on occasion, but I can't determine what triggers an update. For example, I will pick up my phone from the desk and when I press the power button it shows the accurate time. When I unlock the device, the sense flip clock I use on the main home screen shows an earlier time (could be 30 minutes... could be a few hours). I don't believe it's just the Sense app because I noticed this issue where I checked a facebook messenger app that came and and when I closed the app, it still showed I had 1 notification. I went back in thinking I had another new message, but I didn't. So it was still hanging on to the notification. It happened a couple times with a text message as well. Most importantly, my calendar doesn't alert me prior to an appointment either, even though it's showing in my calendar and an alert is active. If I save an event, and exit, I can normally see the event appear on the on widget immediately as well... but that hasn't been happening. I have to press the widget to open it and confirm it is there (which it always is). Eventually it refreshes and shows up. But that delay is likely the reason why I'm not getting my alerts.
All of this did seem to happen after a recent update Samsung/AT&T pushed out but I don't know for sure. I tried clearing the cache from the boot menu but it doesn't seem there is wide success with that.
And perhaps I'm just not a good enough user, but everything isn't all backed up in the cloud so doing the factory reset to me is always a fairly large task as I have many things to manually transfer out and then back in. Not sure if there are great tools that help with this on a stock phone.
Samsung smart switch works wonders, the only thing that doesn't restore is passwords, you have to have and external SD card for it to work, or plug it in to a computer

That is not the issue. As mentioned, it's not just the clock it's multiple interfaces.

High level overview of issues...
I have the Ring Doorbell app. I get notifications after "live". Could be 5 minutes, could be 1 hour... or possibly not at all. I have the app setup on my wife's iPhone and she gets them immediately. If I restart the phone, I will get notified right away (it's like it runs the app again and then I get the notification). Keep in mind, this is AFTER i disabled the battery optimization feature for the Ring app.
I also notice it occasionally with texting. I won't have any text notification in the notification panel, nor will my messaging icon have a little red circle indicating a message is there. But if I open the app, a specification conversation will have a red circle indicating a new text is unread.
All of this is leading me to believe the Samsung UI itself is not updating and therefore notifications that actually have arrived (from whatever app), are not displaying because of the UI and not because of their own delay.
Because of this concern I have turned off battery optimization for "System UI", "Themes", and "TouchWiz Home". I have not seen any change however.
[Solved]
I was able to determine by various other threads around the web (thought for sure I'd find it here, but I didn't) that the culprit might be the Google app. Supposedly it was fixed in some prior release, but it's not on my Galaxy S8+ w/ AT&T.
Once I disabled the Google app all the odd issues with notifications and clock interfaces and app icons not updating went away. The downside to disabling it is that I lose the Google Assistant functionality which stinks but otherwise there is no impact to using the phone. I re-enabled it at a later date and it worked fine for a few days and then started acting up again. Once I disabled it, the problems all disappeared. Clearly Google app is to blame.
I've come across an annoying problem with my new pixel 4a.
When within an app and I tap on something near the top of the screen, the screen switches to the view where all open apps are shown to choose from. (Like when tapping the little square at the bottom right)'
Is this a touchscreen bug, a gesture I need to turn off, or something I'm doing wrong?
It sounds like either there is a problem with the touch-screen (try rebooting the phone), or maybe you installed some app that has "added" that "feature" (so try uninstalling any "utility" app that might be adding that ability.
Thank you for the quick reply. It's a new phone and I'm still exploring it and android 11 before rooting it.
I rebooted and so far seems ok. Time will tell.
Spoke too soon. It just happened again one time after reboiting and I could not reproduce it again.
I was in Firefox and tapped the top right corner and the 'overview' screen appeared. I then tried to reproduce it repeatedly but it would not.
It's a brand new phone and I've not installed more than a couple of apps on it. I'm new to android 11 and didn't know if it was a new 'feature' I was unaware of. Will watch some more.
I would return the phone and get a new one.
I think I will.
Thanks.
