Games of the Touch Diamond - Touch Diamond2, Pure Themes and Apps

Hello,
Somewhere this week I will get the HTC Touch Diamond 2. Everytime I get a new phone I am collecting many many information and applications about it. So this time I was collecting some games, but I have a doubt... Will the games of the Diamond work on the Diamond 2? Especially the G-Sensor games. I am collecting those games but then I saw somewhere else that the difference in screen resolution (they had the HD) makes problems. Is this the same at the Diamond 2? Will there be a possibility to change these games?
Regards,
NLCJ

Nobody? If you didn't encounter any problems, just tell that. Since I want to know of there are really problems or not. I'm also considering to buy SPB Weather and some other software of them, will they work (for sure)?

Most of those have trial licenses, so it shouldn't be too hard to find out. I won't get my phone until tomorrow, so I can't help you...

Hmm, right place? Tytn II vs Diamond

Hello, I'm due an upgrade on Orange very soon, and I'm basically going to go either for a TytnII or a Touch Diamond, but I'm wondering which one is for me.
I've been browsing the Diamond forums a lot recently, and following Tytns progress, and working in a phone shop I've been lucky enough to play with both, albeit briefly.
For me, I'm going to be using data a lot, probably going to want to use Messenger etc.
Whats the QVGA vs VGA argument like? Because I've noticed the Diamonds screen real estate is pretty poor, compared to the Diamond.
I have no reason to use TouchFlo because I'd much rather use SPB Mobile Shell
Whats the cooked ROM situation for Diamond? Mature I am guessing? Processing power vs. Diamond?
I'm just looking for a well thought through comparison, really
Thanks in advance
not even in the same class .... does the tittan have a tv out port??? diamond has one.... so what do u think ... like i said $>not even in the same class<$
what about tytn 3 vs diamond???

Choices Choices!!

Here goes. I know ultimately it is my decision but some pointing would help!
I am looking to get a windows smart phone. The only thing I really know I want is touch screen.
I currently have a Jornada 720, which is fin for what I want to do but its just too cumbersome to take everywhere as well as my phone.
What I want to use the phone for is diary, phone, text, occasionaly internet, word excel etc editing, money tracking (MSMoney?), brain training type games. My phone is currently SE W810i so is walkman and radio too but that is not essential. Also have a tomtom so don't need sat nav.
I have considered
Touch
Touch dual
Diamond
Cruise
P3600
LG KS20 (although seem to be scarce in UK)
or any own brand equivs
Need to know which will be quick enough and have enough memory to do what I want to do. Jornada is super fast for what it is but I suspect that the newer windows takes up more memory and power.
At the end of the day I know it is my choice but any guidance on which would suit or major flaws would be most appreciated.
My take on this...you are gonna find software's compatable with WM phones that will help you use your phone as a Diary(Check SPB Diary), Brain games (Resco Brain games) etc...
So i guess it boils down to the processor speed and your budget for the phone.
One more choice - HTC TYTN 2... my current phone and i love it...

TyTN II -> Touch Pro... Is it worth it?

Hey Raphael / Touch Pro users...
The Touch Pro was recently released in South Africa and im considering the move from my TyTN II to the Touch Pro!
There is alot of nice looking technology in the Touch Pro and its a beautiful looking device... Im just wondering if people are as unhappy after moving to the Touch Pro as they were after moving to the TyTN II / Kaiser???
Im enjoying the TyTN II, after alot of tweaking i managed to get it feeling good and with the addition of CorePlayer 1.2.5 we can now get around the disgusting video playback issue!
So my question is...
Is the Touch Pro worth it??
What do you guys think??
Thank you!!!!!!
I think it's pretty much on what you need? TP is my first WM device and I'm had up and downs experience. I know it's a new product but just the simple phone function is having issue (not for everyone, I have the mute problem).
I like the screen resolution, the speed is acceptable. The design is great. Anyway it's a cool phone. If you love tech and have the budget, TP sure a nice toy to play around with.
I'm still using my Kaiser as well, but yes I was very happy with the upgrade.
Next is replacing the Diamond with the Touch HD
It's a good question. I heavily used a TYTN II in place of a Blackberry and when I changed jobs in September I bought a Touch Pro and don't use it as much for email anymore, but still use this functionality.
The only thing I miss is the jog wheel, that was very handy although "flicking" the screen to scroll through the mail is just as easy - just different. It's what you get used to.
I have found a number of bugs with the Touch Pro that have been widely discussed on this forum such as GPS lag, answering calls whilst in your pocket etc etc but have cured almost all of them again thanks to responses on this forum.
The Touch Pro is asthetically pleasing where as the TYTN II was purely function over form, and it has really nice touches - such as FM Radio, Opera, YouTube player all built in.
However, am I completely satisfied with the Touch Pro ? No, not completely. The GPS issue is a particular problem as I use it fairly frequently, and I'm noticing that there is an occasional breakup of or jump of sounds - voice calls, MP3's, SMS message tones - like an old record jumping - which to me take the "polish" of an otherwise accomplished device.
If I had to spend my money again at this point in time, I would be hanging on to see what the Xperia was like and then choosing - I will be watching that one with interest myself !
Hey guys!
Thanks very much for the replies, especially Half Penny, that was a very comprehensive reply
Ive only been using HTC devices for 2 months, but ive moved fairly quickly through devices, P4350 -> TyTN I -> TyTN II and i must say that ive come to love the HTC quality, the feel and just the way everything works, which makes me immediately hesitant to move to the X1!
The other issue i have with the X1 (and the Touch HD) Is the WVGA resolution, im worried about compatibility with existing apps, games etc! The X1 is also (in my opinion) an ugly looking device... But (considering i was a TyTN I owner hehe) this doesnt bother me that much!
I want the hardware keyboard, its the reason i moved from "regular" cellphones to these devices, so all the other HTCs and various other devices are ruled out because of lack of the hardware keyboard!
I was hoping that the Touch Pro would iron out a few issues HTC were facing, the poor video playback, the poor 3D performance etc etc... To be honest, if this isnt the case and im not missing that much, i might stick with the TyTN II for a year or so and see what happens (unless i pick up a Touch Pro for a bargain hehe), i love the tilting screen, its something ive come to use alot and im unsure as to why they decided to not include it in their new devices!
Anyway guys, i just thought id open this 1 up for discussion, thanks alot for the great input so far
Pro's and Con's
Whilst the TyTn II is not the most exciting looking device HTC came out with, it was one of the most stable PDA's I have owned. If it had a VGA screen I would have not traded it for the Touch Pro.
OK, the TP is very sexy, has a great screen and keyboard and oodles of RAM. But it has to be the most unstable PDA I have used, with constant glitches and weird errors that cause me to soft reset a couple of times a day. I think there is a real need for HTC to bring out a new ROM build that irons out all the well publicised faults.
Having said that, I love the sheer coolness of this device and the WOW's I get from mates when they see it. So I am pleased I bought it and I wouldn't get rid of it any day soon. I will continue to put up with the glitches and keep checking these forums for solutions.
Would I recommend it? For those who want a functional office device that they toss into a briefcase without a care.... NO!
For those gadget junkies amongst us.... YES!
as for me the TyTn II will be my first and last HTC device
am gonna switch over to Xperia or G1 or even a smart touch phone(samsung-nokia)

Good thing you're well informed and you know what you're talking about. "will be my first and last HTC device...", "am gonna switch over to Xperia (HTC) or G1 (HTC) or even a smart touch phone"... The only 2 phone models you named are made by HTC.

Multiple button press pda phones (For gaming)/Best Gaming Phones?

Alright I'm now a noob after buying my Qtek S100 (Magician) a million years ago when it was not a huge brick at the time, I havn't really been in the loop since. I got burnt with it cuz I couldn't play emulators (Dpad can not do diagonals), other than that it has been a good phone that had a good run and I'm now looking to retire it.
I'm curious have the current gen phones solved this problem yet? (Dear god I hope so) I'm finding it hard to find info if certain phones can do this or not...
New phone choices...
1. HTC Kaiser
2. HTC Touch Pro
3. Sony Xperia X1
4. HTC Diamond 2
5. HTC Diamond
The Kaiser intregues me because it slides to the right side (The way it should be) therefore for dpad games (Nes, Snes) you could theoretically use the keyboard as buttons with the dpad naturally.
The touch pro I like because of its sleeker look, VGA screen and accelerometer functions, but slides to the left and has a poor gaming dpad from what I can tell, also the camera on the Kaiser is apparantly better.
The X1 and Diamond 2 appear to be double the price of the first two with similar features.
The Diamond 1 has no MicroSD which is a deal breaker, but is super slim which I like.
Heres my main criteria... Windows, TouchScreen, Gaming Dpad/buttons for emulators, Good Camera, MicroSD, Price, Clamshell (I wish...)
So any input would be helpful! tia.
you should probably go with the kaiser/ tilt what ever model you can get cheapest. you might have problems with the ones that have screens with higher resolutions than 320x240. i play a gameboy advance emulator on it quite often and it seems to do well.

Cool, but lets say I do want to surf the net (occasionally) 640x480 on the touch pro would be worth it right?
So can you play emulators with the dpad and slide-out keyboard fairly comfortably? or do the face buttons work fine?
Any other comments on the Kaiser vs Touch Pro?? Those are basically my main choices at this point.
i am on my tilt right now actually. the touch pro does have higher resolution but the same screen size so it does not matter in my opinion unless you hae really good eyes. also you play most games in portrait mode with the keyboard closed.

Next phone - emulators?

Well its time to renew my contract again, My Touch HD has served me well, I would quite like to get the HD2. The only thing holding me back is performance with emulators, it seems most of the games i play on my phone as emulators. While the performance on the touch HD was OK, the touch screen wasnt ideal for game pads (lack of multi touch)
So my 2 questions are
1: can anyone comment on the HD2 for playing emulators - performance wise with sound on, and the funtionality of the multi touch for controlling it
2: If I opt for a different phone, probably one with a physical keypad to make the games easier to play, and enough power to run the emulators smoothly. What device could people reccomend, even if its not HTC (dare i say that?)
Anyway big thanks to anyone who does offer any useful advice here.
