Can anyone help me, I'm trying to do a Nandroid restore, and it keep failing to restore when I try to flash the boot.img.
Here is what I did:
fastboot flash system system.img - Flash OK
fastboot flash userdata data.img -Flash OK
fastboot flash boot boot.img - Flash failed and I get this msg: Writing 'boot' ... FAILED (remote: image update error)
I try many different boot.img that I use Nandroid to backup with, but still doesn't work.
Oh and I using Hard SPL
Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
I never has any problem, I use spl too

- you need boot unlocked + clockworkmod recovery. do you have backups in sdcard?
- with fast boot you can flash boot and system
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
you can find that files searching nandroids backups for your device
Odin works great and if you are afraid or dont know how to use odin
another thing you could do if you dont have any roms or nandroid on sdcard and you wipe data is load clockwork and go to "mounts and storage" select "mount sdcard" plug your USB from computer in and you will be able to drag and drop rom onto you sd card from clockwork and install that way
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947950
Use Odin
i got the same problem this fixed it
can i Restore a Nandroid Backup over Fastboot??
like this:
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata data.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
after s-off and back to s-on i stuck in the Bootloader.
Can only run fastboot comands,no adb comands.
A Ruu will not go to flash gives error like: Bootloader version error,User Id Error,Device id error i try all the ruus avaibled for de DS.
fastboot will allow flashing like that, if the signature matches for the img files (or if S-OFF).
The question is - if RUU refused to flash, the signature might not match either.
thanks for reply.
have the nandroid (CWM) Backup not the right signature for my Device??
it was a Vodafone 1.47 Rom. The Avaibled Vodafone Ruu iss Version 1.31.
I think it will me not let downgrade to 1.31. i need the 1.47 Ruu that it works.
Can i edit the versions number from the vodafone Ruu whit a Hex Editor and flash?

Hi everyone,
I was gonna update to a new version of CM12.1 (was originally using the 27/08 version, and i was gonna update to 30/09 version). So I made a backup, then I tried to restore it, because last time I updated, the update failed and the backup was bad too. So, I restored it, and then the phone went into a bootloop. When I tried to boot into Recovery (Fastboot -> Recovery), it would reboot and get stuck, then reboot again.
The things I did in order:
Try to get into bootloader a couple of times
Reflash TWRP in fastboot (fastboot flash recovery twrp.img, was version 2.8.6.0)
cmd: fastboot erase recovery
cmd: fastboot erase cache
Flash TWRP again
cmd: fastboot erase system
Flash CyanogenMod Recovery
I can boot into that now
Try to flash CM12.1 nightly 30/09
Factory Reset (Recovery crashes before it is completed)
cmd: fastboot erase data (I get this error in the cmd:
erasing 'data' . . .
(bootloader) Invalid partition name data
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.016s
I just get 'cmd: erase:data' with no error in the fastboot.)
So I think the problem is in the data partition, but I don't know how to fix this.
Thanks in advance!
I accidentally did "fastboot flash boot recovery.img" when trying to flash the stock recovery and now it just boots into recovery all the time. I was able to reflash TWRP so I can boot into that and I've restored the Boot partition from the backup I made but that didn't help, so I tried restoring the vendor image and system image, which didn't help either. Then I tried restoring the individual backups I made of the dtbo, EFS, modem, persists and recovery+vbmeta but it still boots into TWRP when I try to boot into system.
I hope someone can help me fix this, as I bought it to give to my brother for his birthday in a couple of weeks!
I note that the recovery.img is 65,536KB, which is the same size as my backed up boot.emmc.win but obviously they're not the same thing.
EDIT: OK, panic over! I wiped System and installed the A20 ROM from the ozip and it's working again now. Phew!
May I ask if how did you do that?
I think we almost have the same situation but rather different reason..Please help

can you teach us how you fixed it?
Download the last Firmware, this is one for QPST also extracted
"Realme_5i_RMX2030_EX_11_C.79_220121_QPST.zip"
than extract it and open the Terminal and change to Firmware dir with cd "PATH" now you flash the follow Images
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash metadata metadata.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash splash splash.img
fastboot flash persist persist.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot reboot
now device starts normaly and is up to date, your back on StockROM
