French X7510 into ENGLISH TOTALLY - Advantage X7510 General

Hi guys I have htc X7510 with French WM6.1, I wanna switch it into English one, kindly give me hands to do it.

If your X7510 is already CID unlocked simply download one of Michys ROMs and install it.
If it is not unlocked, use cmonex way to change SPL, see "sticky" threads.
Dieter

Thank you for reply but; What do you mean by ......
1- CID LOCK OR UNLOCK?
2- What are the steps for doing what did you suggest?
3- Where I can find the tow ROMs that you mentioned?

First: YOU DON'T NEED TO SHOUT AROUND I can do louder
2nd: For unlocking: did you have a look into the Wiki ?
3rd: did you read cmonex post at the top of the X7510 page ?
4th: the ROMS are from Michyprima, did you find them ?
When done the steps above you may come back
Dieter

Dear Dieter
First I'm sorry for misunderstanding, but actually I have vision problem with the small font,so forgive me for that.
2- My knowledge in this field is almost zero; so I need step by step gaudiness.
3- I'll try to find what did you described later.
Last, thank you again and have a nice time.

Dear dottore,,the community will forgive you
But - to give you any step by step advise, we need to know whether your device is already unlocked or not !
It may even help to know whether you have a branded device or bought it directly from HTC.
Regards

Ok sorry to jump the thread, but since i have a similar thing going on ( German to English), i try to straight this out..
My Phone is unlocked, not any Branding, nothing, just in German ( got it as a gift from a friend)
So i gonna take one of this Rom´s ( for example the new Win 6.5 ), follow the instructions as seen at several Threads and that´s it?
That would be almost to easy?!
Zonga

You must make sure it is CID unlocked- not just SIM unlocked.
If in doubt, follow the instructions for installing HardSPL in the sticky thread at the top of this forum.
Once thats done, you can then install any ROM you want Make sure it is specifiucally for the X7510 though. X7500 ROMs won't work.
Don't bother with the WM6.5 ROMs yet- they simply don't work well enough for everyday use, but the WM6.1 ROMs are good.

Ok, Thanks for the Information..
Gonna read a bit more, and will also figure our what that
CID lock is about
I just have to find the time to flash the Phone and start reading .

ZongaBr, please, the opposite. First read and then flash your device. Other way you are gonna end up with a brick in your hand. But you already know it.
CID lock is a feature of SPL imposed by HTC and other phone producers, to make sure that the device produced for eg. for T-Mobile, with a specific ROM will not accept any other ROM made for, let's say O2. If your device is still CID locked and you try to flash it with any rom not aimed for this device, then you can have a brick after that or in best, it just refuses to be flashed, depending how advanced the flasher is.
But if you use this CID unlock procedure made by cmonx (from first sticky here) you will prepare your device to any ROM you wish providing that it is for X7510.

You can be sure i am going to read as much as i can ,and not before i understand how to do it the right way i will not try to do anything stupid!
I am new to Phone flashing, and changing ROM´s ect.
But i did work with other hardware like Game console, DVD, Sat rec.. and VoiP devices as well, and changed firmware, unlock and whatever.
I will report back, or even ask more questions in my Own Thread as soon i have the time to read me into this.
Thanks again
Zonga

hello all,
i believe i've just dug myself a grave. i've argeed to try repair my girlfriends' dad's wizard.
i am at work right now i have had a sms telling me that he "tried" to upgrade his wizard and now it is stuck in the tricolor boot section.
as i dont have a wizard and only a hermes. i would really appriciate it, if you bros, could tell me what i need to do to repair it.
did he forget to "super CID"?
again, i'd really appriciate it if you guys could point me to the right direction to repair this asap for him.
cheers guys, really appriciate it.

Get the latest official ROM (check the Wiki for the list), flash it. Use ShellTool to flash any WM6 ROM (CID unlock not required).
cheers for the fast reply hanmin.
from what i gather in your reply, do i basically download any rom (E.g. XDA's Mobile) and flash it using ShellTool and all should be good?
by the way, where is ShellTool? i searched but could not find a thread on ShellTool.
thanks in advance for any help guys.
Jason
Shelltool does not work via BootLoader, but from within Windows Mobile. Download the Appropiate Brand-ROM (T-Mobile/QTEK/Imate) and then upgrade.
thanks for your reply eelco_akker
he has a O2 Mini S, so i download O2 WWE from
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard_Upgrades
and extract it, plug in the mini s and run the upgrade right.
after it should look box fresh and i can then read the WM6 guides to get to WM6 right?
thanks for the help guys, really appriciate it. stay single.

alright so Super CID
then what i said in the previous post right?
thanks for the ino swingheim
The best advice is to follow this guide as it will step you through the process by pointing you to various roms and threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
The key thing with a Wizard device is knowing if you have a G3 or G4. G3's are pretty forgiving, but a G4 can be bricked if you try to flash a rom with IPL/SPL that is not from the official rom for that particular phone. If you have the true official rom for that phone, then yes, just flash it and then you should have a working device again, then can follow the steps to CID Unlock it.
Oh, and last word of info... G4's cannot be CID unlocked with tools around here. You have to pay to have it CID Unlocked from IMEI Check. Or (as stated above) you can flash a different rom with Shell Tools (look in the G4 subforum of the Wizard area for info and usage on ShellTool).
Good luck! Hopefully you'll be a hero

The basic is that all shipped ROMs are one flashable NBH file. To manage that file you need two apps. One called NBHExtract to extract the content of NBH file into NB files (search here for it) and htcrt to pack the NB files you need into a NBH. If you need to flash only the OS, then take the 03_OS.NB and pack with htcrt. The use Kaiser CustomRUU to flash the OS only.
Hope that helps you.
Cheers.
Hi, I have downloaded the dutty rom and run the NBHExtract program and its extracted 2 files, now I have used the htcrt and that has created a NB file which I understand that I have to now use the Custom RUU file. Will this just flash the OS file and keep the radio etc? the reason I ask if that I have the Orange UK TYTN 2 and I know that if mess with the Radio file then it will SIM Lock the device. Unless someone else can tell me something else. Does what I have done sound right and will it now work on my TYTN2 without it being unlocked?
I have flashed my UK Orange TyTNII,
Firstly and most importantly i flashed HardSPL which you can find in one of the sticky's, connect your phone and run the .exe file and follow the instructions to install it.
Once i had done that i downloaded the HTC Original Rom, using Winrar i took the NBH file out of the HTC_Original_ROM.exe and placed it in a file. Then using NBHExtract i decompiled it into it's sections (Splash Screen, OS, Radio, SPL, IPL) then i repackaged just the OS.nb back into an NBH file and flashed that to my phone.
Using this method i only altered the OS and I have HardSPL installed for protection against bad flashes.
I did not have any problem with the Phone asking for a SIM unlock code
Hope that helps
Cheers

HI,
I am thinking of getting a TyTNII on Orange UK, but because I will be travelling abroad, I want to be able to use local sim cards.
I understand that Orange phones are locked down, what would I have to do to make it 'sim free'?
Do I need to flash the rom as described above?
Also, why is it not good idea to flash the original HTC ROM? The 'sim free' TyTNII can take any sim, whats changed in Orange models?
Thanks in advance for you help.
T-mobile is the same
I would like to get the HTC rom on my Vario III not for simlock just because most of the time the rom is just more stabel how do i do this already flashed my old vario once from wm5 to wm6 but its bin a long time since i have bin here anny help?

On the Orange TyTnIIs there are two types of locks:
a) CID Lock
b) SIM Lock
The CID lock stops you from loading a replacement ROM on the device.
The SIM lock stops you from using a non-Orange SIM.
The free HardSPL software handles the CID lock issue, allowing the ROM to be replaced.
The SIM lock issue cannot currently be fixed with a free solution. There are people on the forum who can SIM unlock it for you for about 20 quid. This will allow you to use any network's SIM in the device, but in general, has little to do with the ROM upgrade issue (though see next caveat).
If you simply run HardSPL to deal with the CID lock, you can now install a new ROM. However, if you blindly install a ROM that contains a different radio rom to orange's radio rom, then the device will behave as if any SIM, including an Orange SIM, is invalid. To get around this you have two options:
a) Only install a ROM which has no radio rom in it, but only changes the Operating System rom, or
b) pay someone 20 quid so that the phone is SIM unlocked, so that when you run HardSPL and install arbitrary ROMs you have no risk of the above problem occurring.
I went with a), and simply ran HardSPL then installed Sleuth's ROM since it doesn't have a radio rom in it. This worked fine; it replaced all Orange's crappy customisations and works.
Solution a) is not what you are after though. You basically want to use a non-Orange SIM, which means you have to SIM unlock it. This doesn't require the use of any software like HardSPL or any ROM upgrades, but *does* require a 20 quid payment to some bloke (via the horrible paypal system, and apparently he wants a copy of your passport/ID for his safety, which ruled this out for me - I'm happy to pay 20 quid, but certainly not happy to be sending my passport details to men in the shadows). Here's his URL - apparently it takes minutes and is done online: www.imei-check.co.uk/kaiser-unlock.php
Hope that helps.
Thanks alot divert, that explains it well.
I take it that the same is true about T-mobile version as well?
I have bought my HTC TyTN II from Orange Netherlands and the ROM language is dutch... therefore I'm struggling to learn as much as possible from this forum how to change the ROM with a WWE one.
This thread is more closely to my situation and I dared to intervene...
So far I understood that first I have to install HardSPL to be able to change the dutch ROM. This is clear to me. Then I have to choose a ROM version (without Radio in it to avoid locking the SIM). Can you help me in this matter to suggest me a stable english ROM? (also the download link if is possible ).
Then I have to install this ROM. Considering that I never did this before I am a little bit afraid not to permanently damage the phone (is it possible?). Some things are not clear to me.
Do I have to dump my dutch ROM before I install the new one or not?
Is it possible to back up the dutch ROM and in case something goes wrong to restore it?
Is not knowing the dutch language a problem during the installation?
What is the simple and safest way to install the new ROM .. can you please have the patience to guide me step by step in this matter? I would really appreciate this...
Thank you!
Later edit: I can PayPal...

I've no idea roks, sorry. I didn't answer your question for a while as I thought someone who knew might. Perhaps they will. Maybe you need to start a new thread for the TMobile question, as this thread will be read primarily by those on Orange UK I'd guess.

As I said, I installed Sleuth's ROM, since that does not affect the radio. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343867 - he's put a download link there.
Someone else said that Dutty's Rom also does not affect the radio. Here's the thread for that one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341879 - I have not tried it though, so I can't confirm. If an Orange UK user does try it, please post your results in this thread so that other people can be reassured it works.
Another user, kyphur, is keeping a nice list of current Kaiser ROMs here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343198 but it's not clear from that thread which ROMs don't affect the radio. I had to go and read the individual ROM threads to find out. I repeat, Sleuth's ROM does not affect the radio, and someone else tells me that Dutty's Rom doesn't either.

I did not back mine up, because I wasn't sure how to restore it, so I just took a risk (silly, really, but fortunately it all worked). Someone did put instructions on how to do all this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337066 but I was too lazy to do it.

I don't know anything about the Dutch Orange phones. I only know about the UK Orange phones from what I have read on the forum and from my own experiences. I can't confirm that Dutch Orange devices have the same SIM lock issue as UK Orange phones. Even if they don't, though, I'm reasonably sure the same upgrade process will be fine for you, as it only upgrades the Operating System (OS) ROM.
When I did the upgrade, all the instructions were in english and on the PC, not the phone. You don't need to read anything on the phone itself, so I would say no, the fact that the phone language is Dutch should not be an issue. I assume the hardware is the same (though perhaps you have a different keyboard layout, and I don't know enough about the OS to know if this is an issue). If someone else knows better, please say.

All I can tell you is what I did - remember this is for Orange UK TyTnII:
ORANGE UK TyTnII Rom Upgrade Steps:
First, try to read the Stickies at the top of this forum. Even if it doesn't make a lot of sense to you, there might be something important to you there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=378
Download Kaiser HardSPL and follow the instructions.
Here is the thread with the download link and instructions:

This thread is about changing the TyTnII Orange UK Rom, not SIM unlocking it. Nevertheless, your question was answered as part of post #7, which you should probably read.
In summary, there is currently no free solution to SIM unlock your Orange UK TyTnII. You can pay someone GBP 20 to do it for you: www.imei-check.co.uk/kaiser-unlock.php

Order of events!

Just so I don't get flamed to bad for asking a what some would consider a simple question, I had an 8525 that I made SuperCID and HardSPL, so I have done this before. I have also read the majority of material in the wiki and the forums on what I would like to do.
So here goes,
I just purchased the Tilt and am looking to do the same. It is stock to the block right now.
ROM 1.62.502.0
Radio 1.27.14.09
Protocol 22.45.88.07H
My question is what is the sequence of events that I need to do in order to get my phone SuperCID and HardSPL to the point I can start using some of these wonderful 6.1 ROMS?
What HardSPL? v1.0? 3.56? I would guess 3.56 and that it should be the first thing I do.
Now what SuperCID? I found 2, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361236 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375583
Any guidance would be very appreciated.
Thanks for your help
JD
The hardSPL depends on the ROM you're going to flash. Some ROMs work better with certain SPLs. Check.
For ease of mind, hardSPL first then security unlock. You can't go wrong in that order.

Ok, so I don't know about the super cid process but here's at least how you can start the journey:
Copy KAIS_SSPL onto your device
take out sim card and SD card
run KAIS_SSPL
Unplug USB wait 5 -15 seconds, plug in.
Run the Hard_SPL of your choice depending on your ROM choice. Seems like the ones out there are using 3.56, but it varies
Make sure to also flash a compatible radio!
Viola! you are done and ready to flash a ROM!

Noob question sorry. Sequence of events....
Appologies in advance as this is obviously a nooby question....
I have just aquired a t-Mobile branded MDA Vario III. I want to CID/SIM Unlock it as well as Hard-SPL it so I can install whatever ROMs I would like.
I previously had a HTC Wizard that I CID & SIM unlocked with the Lociwiz tool, however I had to downgrade the IPL/SPL to version 1.x to get this to work. Once it was unlocked I was able to install any ROM. I am looking for a similar thing with my new Kaiser and I can't find a Wiki or guide explaining the steps. It seems there are 1.x HardSPL's as well as Security unlockers, plus 3.x HardSPLs but no definitive guide as to the correct sequence.
1. I want to unlock the phone so I can use any SIM
2. I want to unlock the phone so I can install any ROM
With the Wizard I had to downgrade IPL/SPL run the Lokiwiz tool and the upgrade to whatever I wanted. How do I do the same with the Kaiser?
Sorry....

Since you are a Senior Member, you should already know the first rule is to search before creating new threads. However, since I am in a good mood from starting my new job this week, I will "help" you out. Check out the threads below, and after some in-depth reading, all of your question will be answered.

SIM Unlock necessary for cooked ROMS?

I hate to create a new thread about this... but I read over the wiki a couple of times and I still wasn't clear about this.
I am getting an AT&T Fuze soon and I plan to flash it with the latest ROMeOS.
What steps do I need to take before I can do this? Do I just need to get Hard-SPL? Or do I need to do a SIM unlock also?
Also... does installing Hard-SPL CID unlock the phone?
Thanks in advance.
Oh by the way this forum is great! I really appreciate all the hard work you guys do to make these cooked ROMs and other tools. Cheers.
All of the questions you've asked have already been extensively covered, so this thread will most likely/hopefully be closed and deleted by the mods. But in a nutshell, to flash to a cooked ROM, you need to: 1) Flash Hard-SPL (prevents you from bricking your phone while flashing); 2) CID unlock your phone (this allows you to flash to any ROM; installing Hard-SPL doesn't CID unlock your phone). If you're just trying to change your ROM and not use the Fuze with a non-AT&T carrier, you don't need to SIM unlock.
Please take time to read the stickies, if you haven't already.
Dramacydle actually you are wrong.
You need just to flash HardSPL before flashing any TP-compatible ROM.
HardSPL and instructions:

HardSPL will not SIM-unlock your device

Meaning of AT&T Fuze Unlocked .....

Hi there,
I am pretty new to the forum and I havent had much experience with locked / unlocked devices so my question might be a bit naive.
I wanted to buy the AT&T Fuze from ebay and the offer says its unlocked.
Does that mean I can use it in Pakistan and Middle East. And secondly, can I change its ROM to the standard middle east rom version.
I ll be thankful if someone could guide me regarding the problem.
Thanks
yes you can
unlocking your phone will allow you to use your phone with another service provider (instead of just At&t).
You can change your ROM regardless of whether your phone is unlocked or not.
I'll get specific for you.
1. Sim unlocked
(the most common unlocked terminology) means you can put any sim in the device and use that carriers network.
As far as ROM flashing goes (don't get the two confused)
2. Security unlocked and Hard SPL.
Hard SPL is for flashing a ROM, However since you live outside the U.S. you might want to flash a Radio, This is were Security Unlocking comes into play.
If you want my recommendation, Use "Olipro's" unlocker in the Raphael Rom Development section. It is worth the money and very easy to use.
