Forgive me if I am stating the obvious, but this is an official Android 1.5 cupcake release from HTC themselves for the ADP1.
I know others here are compiling and making builds for us, but some of us might be interested in trying the official one. Not sure how long it has been out, my guess is not long.
Here is the link

I was just looking to see if someone posted this. Eager to check it out.
a day late fellas!!! this was known yesterday. that's why haykuro came out with the adp 1.5 cupcake build. check his threads!
also: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509638
This has been out since yesterday morning and there are already rooted and apps to sd versions. also JF said he is already working on his release.
I am running the Oficial version on one phone and Haykuro's apps to sd on another. They rock!
JF SITE IS DOWN SO IT MUST BE FLOODED!!

Does anyone know if JesusFreke is working on a RC of the 1.5 software? Or is he just sticking with the ADP
Well, if there was an RC release, I'm sure he would. But as of now, there isn't any
Thread closed.
This doesn't request a new thread in the "android development" sub forum for discussion.
Thanks
Dave
I guess no one can answer that except JF, but in his other builds he did the RC versions, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did it with this version as well, when it becomes available.
I have (see post 3) on my Tmo G1 right now, and its time to wipe it and update, so I was hoping on some insight on what to use as of current.
Thanks
?
Sure you're not referring to a T-Mo Wing?
Hold on, Im just being retarded. I just searched my last topic I posted in...which was when I had the wing.
G1
Firmware: 1.1
Build: kila-user 1.1 Plat RC33 126986
Kernel: 2.6.25-01843 jesusfreke
feel free to close this topic. I just got the info I needed by just searching lol
search always fails me
Hi, I rooted my mytouch 3g and installed a hero rom. However, it seems the hardware isn't up to par with the hero software and it seems a bit laggy. Anyway, I read somewhere that Jesusfreke roms are considered the most "stable." If I can install it, which ones can I use?
Also, if you think theres a better "stable" cupcake rom, please tell me! Thanks!!
I haven't seen Jesusfreke rom that are compatible with the myTouch but cyanogen is good too, check out his rom and check out the themes in the dream section.
Want something as fast and stable as the JF.
Flash this ROM and PM me feedback.
It's not release yet, but 2-3 days it will be.
This is the same type of ROM as found in my thread at ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4163230#post4163230
I'm sure you'll be happy with this.

(Was a time limit on that link , so if you got it... you did, PM me with feedback)

Ill probably give the cyanogen try.

Hey a.kim,
This ROM is aimed at using the Official T-Mobile binary release of the framework and apps, but with all the features a root user would typically want. (Pretty much like a JF build, but with some more built-in features)
For more info you could visit my thread in the Dream section ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538456
Essentially I have a new version v1.6.x that is on the brink of release that can run on the dream and sapphire (32B) hardware.
I've been giving out the pre-release version to those you desire.
If you are interested, you can PM me and I'll send you the link. Otherwise the official release will be in a day or two now.

I've been using various Cyanogen and Hero ROMs since June and have now reverted back to the stock Vodafone UK ROM. In general the stock stuff is fine, it's quick and bluetooth audio works for phone and media. I need root access though to use Bluex for bluetooth file send/receive and pushing the HTC_IME keyboard
What I'd like to know is does anyone know how to root the new Donut release?
I've tried the Haykuro's rootmesigned but get a FC and constant reboot...it was worth a try
there is already a full solution for you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=565929
I used it on mine and works perfectly, no flaws. Install that and you are done.
yeah there is a way. but im not going to answer because this is in the wrong section. read the stickies up top, search around, then post in the right section and maybe you will get more answers.

Aw gee thanks...NOT
If you don't have anything contructive to add then don't.
I spent hours searching and read through countless threads. For your info I have been installing ROMS since they came out in May (before the Wiki was in place), have contributed and would you believe it I have even been thanked for my help, I am comfortable with using ADB, Fastboot etc, am familiar with linux and have read the stickies.
Is asking about a rooted ROM not developement? Have YOU read the stickies because from what I have read, surprise surprise, in this section there is a sticky up above here about hacking and rooting. As far as I'm aware any developement focused questions would be posted in the developement section not general.
If I'm wrong them I'm quite happy to follow the MODS rules and their directions.
Are you going to repeat your post with questions about OTA updates being in the wrong section too?
P.S. the very helpful 'htcmagic' had already spoiled it for you
@BigRD: no problem mate, glad i could help. I installed the rom above and i am extremely happy with it. I have also installed busybox on it too.
Its much faster that vodafones original.
Hey mate, try Amon_Ra's Donut Rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538645
Very fast and stable with Root and others. I'm using it on my vodafone magic. Works really nice.
Or alternatively just go back to Cyanogen. Its Donut and it has more features than any other rom on this site so...its all up to you
@widezu69 & @htcmagic Cool, thanks guys.
I spent a lot of time with Cyanogen's ROMs up until the Google thing happened and was running eViL's Hero ROMs up to v3.0. I wanted to get back to a smoothish stock ROM issued by my network supplier but rooted by one of the great developers on XDA. I keep finding that other than the Vodafone original and the Google ION ROM bluetooth audio for phone and multi media working at the same time is very hit or miss. Am going to give both versions posted here a try over the next few days
Another one who wants a Rooted Vodafone Donut
I am also searching for a method to root a stock Vodafone Magic 32B that has had an OTA Donut update.
The answers on the thread so far involve flashing a new Donut Rom - my issue is that I have Donut already, and have never rooted - I am assuming the Root instructions included in the Wiki and Relentless Rooter are only aimed at Cupcake.....or am I wrong?
Any help/advice appreciated....
rooting the magic 1.6
Hi folks, dito as above. I've been up half the night trying to work this out. Have recently bought an htc magic from vodafone, and been 'updated' to doughnut 1.6. Not bad, but I'm really keen to get root on this, and eventually install the latest rom from cyanogen...
Seems there are now a few issues for people like me wanting to root their handsets... so far I've managed to erase my user settings, but keep getting errors trying to flash a rom. Followed the link above to nk02's thread, and no luck. Same issue, update aborts. There must be an easier way...
nk02 says his ROM works with 'wipe + flash'. How the heck do I do that? Seems this latest update to 1.6 has made all the other methods of gaining root obsolete... I'm far from a linux novice, and would love some advice here. And please don't tell me to keep searching, solid help would be appreciated. Cheers.
Hi, i have gotten fed up of waiting for support for some applications that I know work on cupcake. I have looked and haven't had much success in finding defanged versions of 1.5 cupcake android. I currently have:
ROM: DRC83_base_defanged (1.6)
MOD: CyanogenMod-4.2.15.1
SPL: Hard spl
RECOVERY: CyanogenMod 1.4
RADIO: 2.22.19.26i
Any help would be really appreciated.
Why do you need it though? Most of the ROMs here are 1.6 or 2.1+?
He already said he wants it to run some old apps.
Nobody ever made a "defanged base" for Cupcake, however Haykuro's old ionr2 image will do the trick.
The thread is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520097 however the download no longer works. You can find it on 4shared with Google easily enough.
I may have something for you...
If everything works and boots, I will have the fastest rom ever seen for you.. and it will be cupcake
Still not shure if it works, though...
/edit: works. stay tuned...
(i am happy )

I know, my actual question was if he doesn't mind me asking what is it exactly to really go back to 1.5?
