Problems to control Windows 7 from WM6 - General Topics

I have installed Gremote, Salling Clicker and Mobile Remote, but I can't make them work on my mobile (LG MS25).
Gremote: The major problem is that the program cannot discovery the PC IP, even with activesync, Ad-Hoc network.
Salling Clicker: Does not recognize the smartphone bluetooth, so it's impossible to connect.
MobileRemote: I'm not sure what the problem is, but the program shows an error (There was an error connecting to the computer. Please ensure that your computer is on, has Bluetooth enabled, and has an active pairing with this machine).
I've tried to make ActiveSync connections and Ad-hoc to enable the communication, unfortunately I got no results. Could anyone help me?

Internet Sharing. How to use it?

Hi to all.
In the new roms from WM 6. Have and application called "Internet sharing"
I want to use the USB cable (not bluetooth) to connect mi laptop to internet trought my universal 3G.
How i use it?
I activate the connection. Mark the USB and my 3G definition. Connect. It's connecto 3G. And in the laptop i cant navigate.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks.
You have to disable the USB connection in activesync on your PDA, as well on your laptop. Mine worked with WM05!
First, connect the PDA to the net by selecting usb connection and your default 3g connection, push connect and then connect the PDA to the laptop and it will be seen as some modem or something else.
You have to disable the USB connection in activesync on your PDA, as well on your laptop. Mine worked with WM05!
Thanks.
But dont wotk for me.
The laptop detect the connection sharing. But the laptop don't navigate on internet.
The Pda navigate Ok.
am having the same problems too. ive followed above posted instructions but no dice.
in my case, the connect button is grayed out.
think i may have to configure either VPN, or ADD MODEM CONNECTION or SETUP PROXY SERVER. either way i dont have any idea how.
ROM: black shadow 4
RADIO: 1.43

Hi,
I can describe, how I am using this feature in Vista.
First I do prefer to use Bluetooth over USB. The reason: it is very often that I am in the room, were the GSM/3G signal is poor. Then I can place my Uni in the window or other place were the signal is much stronger, and connect with the Uni using Bluetooth. The transfer is more or less on the same level as on USB anyway.
Now, Internet sharing option is a new function in WM6, bit like internet sharing in desktop windows. Our PC is not using the Uni as a modem. It uses it as kind of gateway to internet, meaning it use different protocols then with modem connection.
So, after pairing my Uni with my PC in Bluetooth, I got another kind of network connection on my network connections list. It is marked as closed connection with red mark on Bluetooth icon on this list. Then I go to internet sharing in my Uni and select Bluetooth Pan option and then click “Connect”. It establishes its own connection to internet using setup, previously configured in my Uni.
Then, in my PC I go to Network connections list and just click “Bluetooth network connection” icon. This makes my PC to connect with my Uni via Bluetooth using network (TCP/IP) protocol and use it as normal internet gateway. If I click the icon once more, then I get window showing standard connection with bites transferred, buttons for options, disconnection and so on. It shows that the connection is with 1Gb/s, but this is only for connection with my Uni. The connection from Uni to Internet is , obviously much slower and depends of local conditions and 3G standard.
Hope I could help.
Edit:
If I try to do the same over USB, then there is a problem. After connecting USB cable, my PC automatically goes into AS mode and syncs with my Uni. Then If in internet sharing I select USB and click "Connect" the syncing stops, AS in Uni shuts down (this is OK), but my PC try to install a new driver for new device and it does not find it, so it can not recognize my Uni as a proper gateway to connect with over USB. If it would install a driver then on Network connections list a new connection should show up, probably named as "USB network connection".
That’s the other reason I do not use it this way.
Show second and third post. Expain how to quit USB in AS to use this feature.
I will try this trroght BT, but (for me) via Cable is better, the pda is charging all the time. Via Bluetooth the battery goes down quickly.
People need help. I flashed my cingular 8125 with crossbow reloaded rom, its great but cannot seem to understand how to use internet connection sharing to get my laptop online. under network connections i can see that my phone is connected to the internet. but my laptop refuses to browse any site. i have winxp.

Check your firewall. In this mode, you are loged to a new network with different IP than your IP from your home network, if any. Using internet sharing your computer gets IP from your PPC. In my case it is 192.168.0.xx and the gateway is 192.168.0.1. It means that if your firewall was set to accept your home network with different IP, then you have to set it to accept this new IP as well. Oherways you will not get any comunication through this chanell. Of cource, this suggestion is valid only if you have any other firewall then Windows Defender.

I am using this in Vista. There is something named as Center for Windows Mobile Cervices. This is Vista version of AS. Here I do not need to quite USB and AS. Simply set Internet sharing option in your PPC for Bluetooth PAN and then click "Connect" in PPC. After that, click "Bluetooth Network Connection" in your Network Connections List in the PC. You will get the page with list of bluetooth access points. You should see your PPC device marked as the default device. Bellow you have "Connect" button. Click it and you are done.
By the way, the second and other posts describe the attempt to connect in the old way using modem connection. WM6 does not provide the modem support for PC connection. It means that officialy you can not use WM6 device as a modem like with WM5 or Symbian devices. However, HTC has released the modem driver for WinXP and Vista for new WM6 as an after market support. You can google for this on HTC pages. I never used this, cause this new way seems to me a lot easier. Also I never heard about anybody who succeeded with does drivers.
I use Windows Xp and the firewall is OFF
With the new WM6 rom of Ivan works for me

I'm looking for the same thing, i think...
I want to share a internet connection like this:
wifi AP ----wlan----> htc touch diamond ----bluetooth----> PC
Is it possible?
Tnx
im too looking for this, I have a laptop with bluetooth but without wifi.
Anyone found anything?
Sharing Internet on Windows Mobile device, with BT clients
I am looking for this as well. I have a laptop with no WiFi, but with BT, and a WM6 HP 211 iPaq. I would like to connect the iPaq to the Internet using WiFi (easily done), then share the Internet connection through Bluetooth, with my WinXP SP2 PC.
I have paired the devices. For example, I can do ActiveSync synchronization via BT between my PC and the iPaq.
"Netwok Access" connection via BT between iPaq and PC seems OK as well.
Still, when I go to "Internet Sharing" on the iPaq, the "PC Connection" field shows only "USB", it does not show "BT PAN".
Can anyone help? many thanks in advance
Gail
WMWifiRouter can do Wi-Fi to USB, but not BT at this time. It is coming up, though.
It is meant for PocketPC though, though it can work on Smartphone the experience is not as good.
could be useful as a kind of repeater
Ive been looking for an app to turn HTC Fuze into a Wi-Fi repeater, but I have bluetooth on my laptop so this would in effect be a signal repeater for me. The bottleneck from wifi to bluetooth would be pretty heavy though Im sure.
ICS Control
I discovered an app that seems to be able to do what you are asking for and most every other network sharing combo you can imagine. Its called ICS Control. It would be great to have a repeater app.
Bluetooth connectivity drops when WLAN is on
Hi guys
I have an iPaq 210 that I'd like to use as a WiFi card for an WinXP SP2 PC.
Here's my problem, which often happens (not always):
1. I turn on Bluetooth on the iPaq
2. I connect the PC to the iPaq using the "Explore my Bluetooth Places" wizard, then "Connect". It says "connected". Then on the XP "Network Connections" window, it says "acquiring network address", and shortly after: "connected". PC's IP address: 192.168.1.125, default gateway (the iPaq): 192.168.1.6. In fact, I've setup this static IP address on the iPaq using the ICScontrol utility. Both computers see each other and ping works both ways. In other words, BT PAN is up and working.
3. Here's the problem: I then turn on the WLAN (Wi-Fi). When the WiFi connects, ping stops working. Then I can't get to the Internet from the PC using the iPaq. "Network connections" still says: "connected" on the BT PAN network.
When I disconnect the WLAN, BT ping starts working again.
What to do?
TIA
Gail
dont really know how to fix this
Re: Bluetooth connectivity drops when WLAN is on
Can this point the way? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972305 ?
The problem is, that fix is for the system builder. Can someone suggest a registry setup or anything else?
damn, looking exactly for this
wanna use my touch hd with a bluetooth only netbook
hope someone can do it
btw, wmwifirouter seems the closest to do it
can do 3g to bt, but wifi only to usb
[]s
D2G wlan0 - bnep0
On the topic of reverse tether heRe
Ubuntu netbook and Droid 2 Global
Yes the 3g connection works, turn on wifi and
it seems to fall apart. I think there might be
some ip conflicts or I could use a bridge adapter
or something on my droid phone that is configurable,
maybe like br0 for an interface name.
sounds good to me.
what exactly happens when wifi is turned on
ifdown ppp0 ?
ifup tiwlan0 ?
thats exactly what appears to happen first ppp0 there and tiwlan0 not then, touch icon and run ifconfig -a again and it is now the opposite. All ifb interfaces unchanged..
both bnep0 and tiwlan0 on same subnet and have different ip, but tiwlan0 gets dhcp and bnep0 I believe is static.. A routing table could help.
Do I need to add new modules? can this be configured?

[Q] Windows Mobile as HEADSET for laptop

Hi, I have a softphone installed on my laptop. I connect headset(speaker+mic) on my laptop, and speak via the softphone.
The problem is I have to restrict my movement, as the headset I have is a wired one.
So I thought of using my Windows mobile phone as headset to my laptop. That way, I can carry by mobile phone and walk around while speaking.
Configurations:
My laptop has Bluetooth and connected to Wireless network
My Windows mobile phone has Buletooth and connected to same wireless network
I am trying to figure out a way to connect my Windows mobile to my laptop so that I can use my windows mobile phone to send audio input to my laptop and recieve audio output from my laptop.Basically, I wanted to use the softphone installed on my laptop through windows mobile phone.
I tried searching in google, but couldn't find any such solution. I am looking for some solution that may make use of any of these:
Windows Mobile Remote Desktop Connection
Windows mobile Bluetooth pairing to my laptop
well, the operating system I have is Windows Mobile 6.1

Connect a windows mobile device to a bluetooth gprs phone using nap

I have a HP iPaq hx4700 with windows mobile installed. would like to connect this pocket pc to internet using a nokia c1 GPRS over bluetooth. Right now it is connected over DUN, but that method sucks, since it is much slower than network access point method. I tried connecting using NAP, it connects and phone connects to gprs, but there is no internet on my pocket pc. I also tried to connect a windows pc to gprs over bluetooth and it works fine, right after it connects no additional configuring needed. My phone is probably not problem, but something needs to be configured onmy windows mobile device or something. Please help me.
