So I've tried out using Windows Live Email Push on 6.5 and it works REALLY WELL. Probably the best push email I've used, though SEVEN is up there. I currently forward Gmail email to WinLive, and Live pushes it to my PPC. However, it syncs well with the Live account, but I want the changes to reflect on my Gmail as well. Is there any I can IMAP Gmail/Live, or is there an app someone could write that everytime an Email gets pushed to Live, it initiates a Send/Recieve with a seperate Gmail account under PocketOutLook?
Thanks.

I'm looking for a free pushmail service for my HD2. Somebody can help me? I have tried some but they can not work correctly with WM 6.5.
Gmail works fine for me. Besides the actual GM account, I also duplicate some other GM accounts to it & it checks / collects mail from still further other non GM accounts.
ive also been looking for one for ages. My symbian friends are quite quick to put down my htc hd 2 because it doesnt have free pushmail service. XDA-developers have solved 99.9% of my probs. I hope it goes up by 0.1%
Thanks in advance. I love this website!

I see that you are on Tmobile UK. Do you use the standard web'n'walk for this push service?
I've never got proper push from Google to work with Gmail.
I use Gmail to forward to my Hotmail account, which is then picked up on Windows Live.
Works great!
just use google sync to push gmail
Gmail works great on my HD2, you just have to correctly set the account in Active Sync :
Server : m.google.fr
Mail : [email protected]
Pass: Your password (And check the box to store it)
Domain : Left blank
Then you can choose to synchronize Contacts, Calendar and mail but be sure not to check task (Otherwise you will get an error while syncing).
Then in Active Sync you have to set when the phone will check for new items, you have to say "when new items arrive" and check the box to allow while on Edge and 3G.
Normally every thing should work great.
I get mail quite quickly and my calendar and contacts are always up to date on the phone, the computer and the web!
the prob is i dont use gmail. i use hotmail and my work email is being hosted by mail2world.net so i need those to work. Im sure there is a free pushmail server for winmo i just havent found it yet.
Try www.momail.com . It works great for me

I am on T-mobile UK, I do have standard WnW.
Push Gmail works fine on my HD2 both T-mobile 1.43 & HTC 1.66 (as it did on my old TytnII).
I simply followed these instructions to access my email
http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138636&topic=14299
Actually my ISP is Sky who email service uses re branded Google mail. I have my own domains for email. Because they insist on tagging my outgoing mail address/domain with their moniker, hardly professional, I use a 3rd party SMTP server (from the Skyusermail forum) for outgoing mail. All set up from within the HD2 messaging utility & transparent in use with no additional input.
I only sync my mail to Google. For privacy, Contacts, Calendar, Favourites & OneNote I sync to my Vista32 computer via USB (upgrading to Bluetooth in a couple of days). I found, when INITIALLY setting up the PHONE syncs, I have to add them ONE TYPE AT A TIME in sequential syncs, or it fails After the initial set up, it behaves correctly syncing all automatically together.
As far as what that Pushed Gmail account reports, I went into its web control panel and got it to collect incoming mail from MANY other accounts. I now have a PUSH one stop shop, when mobile, for about a dozen entirely separate email accounts!
I no longer need an office to run my business affairs. I can run everything from my mobile. Huge overhead saving and much more leisure time. My business now interrupts my leisure pursuits instead of vice versa.... Worthwhile trade off for me.
I also have a few other email accounts being checked every few hours. Also my HD2 is hooked up to Windows live / Hotmail. (Need to reinstall Skype.)

momail doesn't work in my country
Have you ever tried mail2web.com? It works fine and it's quite fast.
try SEVEN it is great....though i notic it has some bug with the cooked ROM but not with the orginal ones
I have a Touch HD and up until today I had it set up so that Gmail would push emails to me. It worked great, emails would be pushed to my device very quickly and I was happy
The company I work for has allowed me to configure my device to sync with my corporate Exchange server. So I stripped the gmail settings, entered all the corporate exchange info and voila, everything works fine; emails, contacts etc. are all in sync as I'd expect.
i was going to just add on my gmail account as an imap account, but I'll miss the emails being pushed to me. The account is set up as my Windows live account, so after googling it seems I can do both using Windows Live Mobile. I've set everything up in Windows Live Mobile with my gmail account credentials and I've set the sync to happen 'as items arrive'; it reports as being connected, but I can't see my emails anywhere; only my corporate inbox appears on the touchflo email tab.
Can anyone provide a bit of help, either this doesn't work as reported or (likely) I'm cocking it up somewhere...
use active sync?
server: m.google.com

i moved from windows mobile to android just about a month ago, and to be honest android is substantially better in every way possible, been loving it
now the only thing that has really bothered me is that the default email app from android is a piece of crap... unless you use gmail of course because gmail only has labels and it flushes all your email to a single folder.
i use hotmail and i receive many emails so i do need to use the folders, and i have to have them organized as such in my phone. windows mobile used arcsoft to organize the folders, and it worked great, but i haven't found a similar alternative on android or the market, does anyone know of one?
i even have an iTouch and there is an application in the iOS market that will arrange your emails into folders like they are found in my e-mail...
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!
Hotmail is POP only. You could have your gmail account fetch your email from hotmail and then use gmail's label system to organize your mail.
If hotmail allows you to set a forward you could get an email account that supports IMap and then you will have folder support.
I had this same problem, it was initially very hard for me to go from WinMo to Android for this reason (also, no spell check? WTF google). There is a mail app out there that supports push Hotmail (like WinMo) somehow. I believe it is called Seven or something along those lines....in beta and not in the Market.
I ended up just forwarding my Hotmail account to my Gmail one and using that. Hard to get used to, but certainly worth it for push support. You can also import all your messages in your hotmail account into your gmail archives (stored under a different label) through the gmail settings. Finally, you can toggle gmail to use your hotmail account as your return address if that's something important to you for whatever reason.

Yea it seems gmail never fails to give me my email notifications right on time, right when I receive mail I get a notification no more then 2 minutes later. But yahoo seems to never update and I get my email like 30 min to a hour later. So this must be droid telling me if I don't have gmail I won't get my notifications on time. Very bias of the android OS. And it sends nobody has a sure
fix for thus as I have searched the forums and have used k9 as well it all fails.

Both GMail and Exchange mail support the feature called Push Email -- it pushes into your phone's inbox as soon as the mail server receives the email.
How do you setup your Yahoo email? I guess you used the POP3 email access which is pretty dumb and doesn't support push email (your phone has to check the mail server every so often to see if there is mail there.
There should be a Yahoo mail app created by Yahoo that also supports push email. You have to use that app in order to get the push email from Yahoo.
Hotmail now also supports push email via Exchange email support. So, no new email app needed.
I have one of my yahoo accounts set up on the yahoo app, but it only allows for one account as far as I know

Then, call Yahoo and ask them to support multiple accounts. Yahoo, Gmail and hotmail all use properitary protocols for their email in addition to support the old POP3 protocol. Gmail and Hotmail have the added advantage of supporting Exchange ActiveSync. So, in order to take advantage of advanced feature like push email, you will need the native client from the respective email provider or use Exchange ActiveSync if there is support for it. It is not any kind of bais in Andriod OS. It is the fault of Yahoo falling way behind the technology curve. POP3 protocol is created like 20 to 30 years ago. Back then, emails often take days to reach the destination.
BTW, the phone's built-in email client only supports 2 Exchange accounts max. I know Gmail client supports multiple gmail accounts as well but not sure how many accounts it can support.
Yahoo does have an app, whether it's any good is a different story. I have tried both, the email app and the messenger app and they are very laggy, almost rendering the phone useless. Then again ymmv
Hi,
i just noticed that the default HTC Email app on the sensation, in all its awesomeness, doesn't push emails to my device. it refreshes every 5 minutes or so.
is there any way to push emails ?
Im using a gmail account.
thanks
Turn your google mail sync off then back on again, and ensure your sync is always running, that is as best push you will get.
Pushmail doesn't work on WIFi for me with the stock apps.
I use Advanced Email. Very good app and you can also access folders which i have set up on hotmail

Where can I get this? You mentioned it once in one of my threads, and I've been trying to get it, but it's not on the market and Google didn't help me either.
so there is no way to get push emails on the default HTC app?
SOLVED.
I created a microsoft Exchange account with my gmail address and now emails are pushed!
thanks
You can also get hotmail emails pushed What you do is create a new Exchange/Active sync account. put in your hotmail address and password and click manual set up. Then in the username field make sure it's your full email address. in the server field type m.hotmail.com (even if it's a @live account) and you will be able to get your hotmail pushed. My school uses live mail for it's student mail and I get push email for that as well using the same method.
for yahoo there is a yahoo mail app that pushes your yahoo mail just like the gmail app.
Sorry mate its Enhanced Email, stupid predictive text
